Have you ever been in a yoga class where the yoga teacher gives a long dharma talk about ahimsa, and then when the movement practice begins the teaching style feels very aggressive? Or maybe you have been that teacher yourself. I know I have! I think there are really subtle and beautiful ways to teach the movement part of yoga in a way that has the deeper philosophical teachings embedded within it, but most of us were not taught to do that, and it is more challenging to do than you might think! Also, many of us claim that yoga movement can be healing, but a performative style of teaching doesn't allow for that. In this episode, I explore an idea that has become central to my work as a yoga teacher and educator: the disconnect between how yoga is often marketed as a healing practice and how it is frequently taught as a performative one. I dive into the ways traditional teaching frameworks—especially the language of "regressions," "progressions," "safe," "unsafe," "full expression," "modifcation"—can unintentionally reinforce hierarchy, competition, and performance-based thinking. If our goal is to help students feel better in their bodies, develop agency, and cultivate discernment, I believe we need a different approach. Throughout the episode, I share practical tools for teaching movement in a way that aligns more closely with healing-centered values. We explore how to move beyond visual ideals, teach from intended benefit rather than aesthetic outcomes, and help students make informed choices based on their unique experiences rather than universal standards. I also discuss the role of teacher authority, student agency, movement literacy, and why teaching in a more nuanced, non-hierarchical way is both more challenging and ultimately more effective. In this episode, you'll hear: Why yoga cannot simultaneously be a healing practice and a performance-based achievement system The hidden hierarchy embedded in common yoga teaching language Why regressions and progressions are not universal How movement experiences vary from body to body The difference between teaching shapes and teaching movement experiences Student agency, teacher authority, and finding the middle path between control and abdication Why "harder" and "easier" are often misleading descriptors Alternative frameworks for cueing movement, including active vs. passive, symmetrical vs. asymmetrical, and stability vs. mobility How to identify the intended benefit of a pose or movement The importance of sensation-based and function-based cueing Common compensation patterns and how to work with them Why nonlinear movement teaching requires more observation, education, and nuance Helping students develop movement literacy and discernment Practical examples from tabletop, lunges, Warrior III, Extended Side Angle, and more Resources Mentioned: Episode 165: The Intended Benefit + Removing Linear Hierarchy The Sangha This episode is sponsored by OfferingTree! "If we can do it for Whole Foods, which is a very large organization, why can't we do this for other employers?"Is the era of relying on national, opaque "BUCA" networks finally coming to an end?My guests this week are Blake Allison, CEO of Employers Health Network (EHN), and Philip Eaves, from Ascension. Together, they break down the exact blueprint they used to build a direct-to-employer, high-performance network for Whole Foods - and how they are scaling that exact same model for self-funded employers across the country. In this episode, we explore the hospital system's perspective on direct contracting. Phil explains why massive health systems like Ascension are eager to bypass traditional carriers to work directly with employers, citing faster payments, zero collection risk, and the ability to proactively manage patient care. We also discuss how to successfully integrate Direct Primary Care (DPC) into a localized network, the lessons commercial plans must learn from Medicare Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and why the future of healthcare relies on "re-localizing" how we buy medical services. If you are an employer, benefits consultant, or healthcare provider who is fed up with the transactional, nickel-and-dime nature of traditional insurance carriers, this conversation proves that a better, more collaborative model already exists.Thank you to our 2026 sponsors!ParetoHealth: ParetoHealth empowers midsize employers with a long-term solution to reduce volatility and lower overall health benefits costs. History shows us that sin spreads rapidly as people move away from God. Sadly, this is the case even today.
Living with multiple dogs means managing multiple personalities, and like any home with multiple personalities, there will be times when there are disagreements. In this episode, Christina Young and Melissa Breau talk about how to prevent conflict between dogs in your home, the early signs of tension people tend to miss, the difference between management and structure, and how to teach your dogs to actively move away from situations that might escalate. When we sin, we fail. We feel distant from God. We avoid God. Our intimacy with God weakens. When we draw near to God, He responds with nearness to us. If you want to feel and be closer to God. Get closer to Him right now.

20% of the world's oil supply has been shut off over the past week due to Iran's effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Petrol prices have reached $3 NZD a litre, with some stations running out of fuel due to demand. New Zealand imports all of our petrol, diesel, and jet fuel, making us especially vulnerable to global oil crises. We are particularly dependent on oil for transport, with electricity accounting for just 0.5% of domestic transport energy. Wire Host Caeden spoke to Dr Timothy Welch, Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland and an expert in transportation and infrastructure, about how New Zealand can move away from car dependency and our reliance on foreign oil imports.
In this sermon, we see Paul's great description of the GOSPEL which he warns us not to MOVE AWAY from! In Paul's teaching we learn what it is that we need to HOLD ON TO without compromise no matter what, and we learn of the reward that is waiting for those who stand firm to the end! There is a HOPE that is unchanging, unbreakable, unshakable, and we have been given it as a gift through Jesus Christ!

Will Madden joins the podcast to talk about Prisma Next and the evolution from Prisma 7, including the decision to migrate away from Rust, ship the core through WebAssembly, and move toward a fully TypeScript ORM. The conversation dives into how modern workflows like agentic coding change the role of an ORM and why tools still matter even when agents can write SQL queries directly. We discuss how feedback loops, guardrails, and the TypeScript type system help prevent errors, along with the new query builder, query linter, and middleware layer that analyze queries using an abstract syntax tree. The episode also covers new database capabilities including Postgres support, upcoming Mongo support, and extensions like PG Vector, enabling vector columns and cosine distance similarity search. You'll also learn about new patterns such as collection methods, scopes, and composable database extensions, plus tooling like driver adapters, a potential compatibility layer, and safeguards like lint rules and a performance budget middleware designed to catch expensive queries before they run. “It is not proper to remain in this place. Let us go to another great forest, as here we have seen numerous calamities which are causes of ruin. The destruction of Putana and the reversal of the cart, and similarly the falling of the trees without the intervention of the wind. This summer, Michael Liebreich wrote two essays under the title of the Pragmatic Climate Reset. The first challenged the idea that the clean energy transition has failed. And the second challenged the clean energy and climate community to a reset, exploring eight areas which he thinks the transition has gone astray. In this special episode, Bryony Worthington sits down with Michael Liebreich, to unpack Part 2 of “The Pragmatic Climate Reset.”Michael lays out a bold vision for cutting through the noise — replacing ideology with realism, and paralysis with progress. From net zero targets and critical minerals to global politics, energy security, and the economics of clean tech, this is a conversation about what it takes to deliver a just and workable climate transition.Bryony asks Michael,Why criticise Greta Thunberg rather than call out anti-climate commentators like Joe Rogan or President Trump?Did he go too easy on the fossil fuel industry? What does he think he got wrong? How has the essay been received, and did he get any good feedback, either positive or negative.Michael puts forward the idea that if the transition is to succeed in the long run and keep the public on board, we must proceed as a tortoise, not a hare, building on the considerable momentum of renewables to phase fossil fuels out of our energy mix while also keeping energy affordable, and everyone's lights on.Listen now, or watch the full episode on YouTube.Leadership Circle:Cleaning Up is supported by the Leadership Circle, and its founding members: Actis, Alcazar Energy, Davidson Kempner, EcoPragma Capital, EDP of Portugal, Eurelectric, the Gilardini Foundation, KKR, National Grid, Octopus Energy, Quadrature Climate Foundation, SDCL and Wärtsilä. House flipping is cooling off fast. A new survey from John Burns Research and Consulting and lender Kiavi shows flippers are struggling with higher costs, longer timelines, and shrinking profits. Investor activity is down nationwide, condo sales have tanked, and oversupply in the Sunbelt is making deals harder to find. But opportunities remain in older housing stock, especially across the Northeast and Midwest. In this episode, we break down why flops are outpacing flips, the regional pressures squeezing investors, and the strategies flippers can use to survive—and even thrive—in today's tougher market. In today's episode, I share encouragement from God's Word for the days when you're overwhelmed, frustrated, or ashamed—whether it's your health, motherhood, marriage, or finances. Drawing inspiration from Dr. Henry Cloud's Changes That Heal, we talk about how perfectionism can keep us stuck and how pride can be hidden in our shame. Instead of expecting yourself to get everything right, let's anchor ourselves in truth: Trust in the Lord with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5–6) Rejoice always, pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18) Know that God works all things together for good (Romans 8:28) God can use even your broken moments to create something beautiful—yes, even in your health journey. He doesn't expect perfection, but He does invite you to trust Him.
