Building off the certified gold success of their breakout debut L.D. 50 and the progressive-leaning The End of All Things to Come, Illinois-based Mudvayne embraced this momentum with a bold new look and direction. After nearly four months of isolation and fine-tuning, the band emerged with massive hits like “Happy?” and “Forget to Remember”, alongside tracks like “IMN” and “All That You Are” that gained the attention of an expanding audience. From the Saw II soundtrack to the Ozzfest main stage, please join us in discussing Mudvayne's Lost and FoundRecommendations:Revocation - "Confines if Infinity" (feat. Udsendelse nr. 639. Sort Søndag er Danmarks vigtigste metal podcast. Hver uge får du 1 times tonser tunge toner, i selskab med værterne Anders Bøtter og Jakob Trolle. Sort Søndags trofaste "Giro 666 lyttere" byder ind med både nye og gamle numre, "Musiknyt" sørger for at holde dig helt opdateret og hver måned gennemgås et klassisk metal album i "Månedens Mesterværk".

Anybody can put out a classic album, yeah? Anybody. Like me. I've done it. Suck it. Anybody can put out two classic albums, yeah? Anybody. Like you. Or three. It's EASY. I'll tell you how. You can even ask ChatGBT to do it (but there'll be something inauthentic about it, so maybe not). But, what does it take to make a career in it? To transcend the scene one emerges from, to continuously make good, interesting music that means people don't just want to hear stuff from your first two albums. Maybe you can go down the tech death metal route, where stuff is just too complicated to digest and thus you can play anything you want. But ... I mean, who likes technical and progressive music, anyway? Or you can go down the route where you take an artistic approach, and the music transcends its limitations. So, this is how you can make a classic album: just copy Scott Walker. Or Robert Wyatt. ### Riffs of the week #### Dr Sam's Riff - The Rentals - Friends of P (opening) #### Andrew's Riff - Green Lung - Mountain throne (opening) ### Dr Sam's track choices 1. Was listening to your podcast on the way to work and a couple of things about Cattle Decapitation. There is only one singer, Travis Ryan, who has an incredible range of styles. Plus, the band started out as having all vegan members and their position was that if we viewed what we do to animals as if we did the same to humans, its would be horrific. So that's what their songs are about. Plus now also about the unsustainability of the human race as a whole. One of my favourite metal bands

What a treat to have Travis Ryan in the house to unpack the pertinence of a phrase we say together every week in The Sending: “I'll Worship King Jesus in Spirit & in Truth”Everybody worships. Some worship the wrong spirits, others the Holy Spirit. Some identify “their truth”, others seek God's truth. How can a person live their life worshiping Jesus in Spirit & in Truth. A worthy conversation to be sure…
