Stew Begg - Season 2Stew has officiated and administrated lacrosse officials at all amateur levels since 1962 when he started with the game in Cornwall, Ontario. Up until 1998 he had officiated at the Founders’ Cup, Presidents’ Cup and Mann Cup games as an official. After that he served as Referee-In-Chief (RIC) for the Founders’ Cup and Minto Cup, as well as the 2007 FIL World Indoor Championship (WILC) in Halifax.From 1999 through 2008 Stew was the CLA Chair of the Nationals Officials Certification Program. He is one of four Master Course Officiating Clinicians in Canada. From 2008-2016 he was the CLA VP of International Competitions.Over his career he has assessed more than 2,000 officials locally, nationally and internationally. Begg was RIC of the 2011 WILC in Prague. Begg also has convened national championships at all levels from 2012-2019.

The guy has nearly as many properties as titles so it's safe to say a life in lacrosse can pay off in the end. Prouter has won 6 of the 8 biggest titles in all of lacrosse; a two time Minto Cup winner with Whitby, a Mann Cup with Brooklin, an FIL and WILC with Canada, he captained Colorado to the 2006 NLL title and that was in the middle of winning three MLL titles with Baltimore, Rochester and Hamilton. Rond 1450 had Gutenberg het drukken met losse letters uitgevonden en na een halve eeuw was zijn vinding volwassen geworden. Voor het eerst konden geleerden, politici en geletterde burgers in hoog tempo hun ideeën verspreiden, op veel grotere schaal dan in brieven of handgeschreven boeken. Beide media ontwikkelden zich in circa vijftig jaar tot krachtige jongvolwassenen, met een eigen vorm. Op de tentoonstelling Conn3ct die komende zomer te zien zal zijn in de Erfgoedbibliotheek Hendrik Conscience, wordt aan de hand van negen thema’s getoond hoezeer de werking van het boek in de vroege zestiende eeuw overeenkomt met de impact van de huidige sociale media. Luther publiceerde korte pamfletten die snel gemaakt en verspreid konden worden om zijn ideeën te verspreiden, Trump stuurt vele twitterberichten om zijn overtuigingen bekend te maken. In haar lezing gaat Marieke van Delft in op de achtergronden van deze vernieuwend en interactieve tentoonstelling. Ze vertelt hoe deze tot stand gekomen is en bespreekt de inhoudelijke thema’s en illustreert ze aan de hand van allerlei voorbeelden de opvallende overeenkomsten in impact en bereik tussen twee massamedia uit zeer verschillende tijden. Marieke van Delft studeerde Geschiedenis en Boekwetenschap aan de universiteiten van Amsterdam en Leiden. In 2014 promoveerde zij in de Cultuurgeschiedenis aan de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven op het proefschrift Van wiegendruk tot worldwide web waarvan in 2016 een handelseditie verscheen bij de Walburg pers. Zij werkt als conservator bij de Koninklijke Bibliotheek in Den haag. Vanuit die functie coördineert zij enkele boekhistorische kennisdiensten zoals Bibliopolis, de Short-Title Catalogue Netherlands en de watermerken database WILC. When we spoke with him, it was at LaxCon this past January of 2018 as he was preparing to suit up with Team USA Indoor in their scrimmage that weekend. He is working towards trying to be a member of that team for the 2019 WILC being held in British Columbia next fall.Bill has some excellent insight into our game and also has an electric personality, which has created a large social media following.
