Episode 142 of Funkier Sounds is dedicated to the memory of Danielle Moore from Crazy P. I played a good few tracks featuring her divine vocals in the first hour, and did my best to put together a set of the sort of deep, sleazy, low-slung disco that Crazy P do so well. For hour 2 it felt like the only right thing to do was to replay the guest mix she did for me earlier this year. I was so thrilled when she finally sent me this mix, and super proud to put it out on my little show. Loads of the songs in it have since made it into my collection - a marker of her impeccable taste, and it's quite emotional to hear those voice drops she so kindly put in again. Like so many others I'll really miss her - she's gone way too soon. But let's bask in the warm glow of a Danielle Moore DJ set and remember her fondly as a kind soul and a true star. ❤️ HOUR 1 TRACKLIST 1 Crazy P - Never Gonna Reach Me (Hot Toddy mix) 2 Even Funkier - Get On Down 3 RTSAK - Give It Up (Benedek Remix) 4 Crazy P - SOS 5 Situation, Andre Espeut - What Is Going On? My little show has turned five! Five years ago, just days before my second child was due to be born, I for some reason decided it was a good time to start a radio show. And so that's what I did - the show was called Funkier Radio and it wasn't a real radio show, because I prerecorded it and just put it up on Soundcloud. But now it's live, on a real radio station and has been renamed Funkier Sounds. Over the years I've had some brilliant guests including The Reflex, Michael Gray, Danielle Moore, loads of less known but still brilliant DJs and a whole load of my friends, and for this celebratory episode I brought you another very special guest. My guest was Sam Redmore, a DJ and producer who I've loved for a few years now. Someone on the more funk & soul side of the sounds I'm into rather than the house and disco side, Sam was the perfect selector to help me mark the fifth birthday. Sam's mix is brimming with funky delights - funk and soul originals and reworks, some hip hop stuff, some jazzy stuff, some of his own stuff… a fast moving, funky and really enjoyable mix! This one's all about the guest mix really so I won't talk too much about my hour, except that I premiered a new edit that I'm quite pleased with and which will be out soon! Anyway, on to that guest mix. Bit of a special one that has been in the works for ages and I wasn't sure would ever happen… but here it is! It's my massive honour to bring you an exclusive guest mix from none other than Danielle Moore of Crazy P. Crazy P are one of my absolute favourite acts, and they've been doing the business for literally decades now. They're one of the world's most in demand disco outfits… although with their unique take on the sound, calling them ‘disco' is doing them a bit of a disservice. I've had the privilege of witnessing them do their thing a couple of times and they put on a hell of a show, led by Danielle's wonderful voice and stage presence. I was totally trying my luck when I reached out to Danielle on Instagram to ask for a mix, but bless her she replied, she's absolutely lovely, we've been chatting a bit and she sent me this monster of a mix. Full of the sort of deep, low slung, after hours disco that Crazy P are known for, it's an absolutely impeccable selection, ending on a Crazy P classic. Possibly the biggest guest I've had on my show to date, and definitely one of the finest mixes ever to grace my little show. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did!

Welcome back to episode 18 of the BookTok Book Club Podcast. Today we are talking about Written in the Oceans: A love Story by Jeannie Choe with Danielle Moore @daniellereadsdaily We loved getting to know Danielle and learning a little bit more about how she fell in love with books. She has been an avid reader eversince when she was young. But she fell in love with books when she started reading Jodi Picoult's books.  And of course, we always get excited about new books. Join us today as we discuss Written in the Oceans: A love Story by Jeannie Choe. Written in the Oceans is a beautiful romance about grief and survival when your mind is telling you to give up. Rhylan Matthews is Hollywood's hottest 'it' star but underneath all the glitz and glamor, Rhylan Matthews is dealing with his own slew of demons making him realize how lonely stardom can really be. As a typical college student and on the cusp of entering the real world once she graduates, Ellie doesn't understand why her future doesn't hold the same expectations as it does for others. With her grief pulling her down along with the heavy baggage of her past, moving on feels almost impossible. When their two worlds crash, it's like discovering a new way to breathe after skimming below the surface for so long, always on the verge of drowning. Until they're pushed back into the depths of the ocean and they realize that maybe sinking into oblivion is the only way to live. Unless they give each other a chance. "Performing is everything," says Danielle Moore, and you can tell when she's on stage. The Crazy P front-woman is one of the most cherished and acclaimed vocalists in live music. When she is on stage at the likes of The Big Chill, Bestival, XOYO or Wilde Renate, belting out all manner of catchy cosmic sounds, you cannot fail to be captivated by her energy and style. "When I'm performing I feel like I've stepped into my alter ego and am able to take on any mood. It's very empowering to become detached from my own slightly vulnerable self." It is that charming confidence and that unique exchange of energy with the crowd which makes her every performance an utter thrill.

Danielle Crazy P......................This podcast is dedicated to LOVE. To love and to be loved is happiness. It heightens our emotions and senses. It unites and is a positive force to be reckoned with. It wasn't that easy compiling this selection; there are so many songs which relate to many emotions love inspires, and so you can only honour any emotion at a specific time…therefore my choices are melancholy, poppy, soulful, heartfelt, feminine and with a twist of desire. I'm starting to sound like Simon Bates so I'll leave it there. If I can use this opportunity to say thank you to all my friends and family, because this music selection is inspired by you too-each song tells a love story of its own- and to ultimately the one person I love dearly and who has pulled me through to the here and now-Mr Johnson…with all my love x 1.Outkast-Prototype2.Jill Scott-Cross My Mind3.Teddy Pendergrass-Love TKO4.Eltron John-The copy5.Billy Joel-Just the way you are6.Minnie Riperton-Inside my love7.Prince-Crazy You8.Feist-Inside and Out9.Paul Anka-Lovecats10.Herbie Hancock-Stars11.DJD and Sylvester-Need somebody12.Gus Gus-Unecessary13.The XX-Heart Skipped a beat14.Ron Basejam-Into my life
