Gamers Under The Stairs is a Video Gaming podcast hosted by Michael Lothian and Dr. Awesome. We cover console, retro and mobile gaming, as well as gaming culture in the Vancouver area.
Welcome to another episode of G.U.T.S. This week, Aaron is back and gets his word in on last episode, so there. Dr. Awesome finds it difficult to be as bad as he would like to be, Michael has been playing tablet games whilst on the road and the guys love their remakes, but discover that Space Invaders is just plain weird. This weeks Peeve is a bit of a grey area.
The original duo of Dr. Awesome and Michael are all alone in the studio this episode to talk about all the games that made them laugh. Michael has almost retrieved what is rightfully his, and this is our second episode with PlayStation 4 experience. Is Dr. Awesome satisfied? We had a slight summer break and now we have returned with our newest episode, recorded just after the E3 Expo. Michael updates us on his quest to retrieve his beloved Sega Genesis, the trio share their zero fucks moments and wild card hopes among the E3 announcements and this weeks Peeve: Canadian Loot Crate- Pay More, Get Less!
Michael Lothian and Dr. Awesome summon The Stevil Dead to discuss one of the most anticipated games of the year, Watch Dogs. The guys find it has fallen victim to the hype machine, as Dr. Awesome describes the unpolished experience that surrounds a clever gimmick, and Michael calls out the elminiation of an important promised feature. They bring up some video game movie news, Facebook VR may have Valve as a new competitor, the Wii U may have just been saved, and Michael embarks on a quest to find a lost artifact. This week's Double Peeve: Proving how cool you are in GTA V, and the idiocy of Microsoft math.
The GUTS guys decide to break the 500 meter restriction on the Convicted Cinephiles to join them for our first League crossover cast! The crew dig deep to find the gold in one of the hardest places to find it: Video games based off movies. Despite the majority of poop-smeared titles on the market, they manage to wade through to find the nuggets of healthy magic. We find out every Cinephile is a gamer and show the world their weiners. Matt manages to behave himself... this time. Michaela takes a live shit on the mic from the comfort of her own home. This week's Peeve: Spending REAL money to make fake money. Back from hiatus, Dr. Awesome, Michael and their guest Aaron open with the buggy release of Black Ops 2 and if big title games are released unfinished or untested to meet deadlines. The Wii-U is the current and quietest console release and Michael only cares about the size of its power cord, Aaron thinks the handling is clumbsy and Dr. Awesome is not happy about the gigabyte hogging update.
