From Salt Lake City, Utah he played Jr hockey for the Hawksbury Hawks of the CCHL where he was the defenseman of the Year followed by a season with the Topeka Roadrunners of the NAHL. After his time in the NAHL, he played three season of NCAA D1 hockey for Minnesota State University - Manakto.
