Coach Schuman, VOICE OF REASON FRANK CRISTIANO, and Steve Cully are back as we review election night. We break down the mayoral race in NY City, the Governors races in New Jersey and Virginia. Mamdani was victorious in NY but we firmly believe if Curtis Silwa had dropped out, Andrew Cuomo may have actually won, or had a better chance to. Sliwa took key votes away in important districts that would have made things interesting. Zohran Mamdani can sure talk the talk, but we are about to find out if he can walk the walk. Mikie Sherril is the new governor of New Jersey after dominating Jack Ciattarelli winning by 13 points. Both NY City and New Jersey had record turnouts for voters. In Virginia, democrat Abigail Spanberger was elected as the first female governor in the history of the state. Experts point out people and politicians are already fed up with Trump, this is only the beginning as midterm elections next year could change things significantly.

In a candid episode of the Small Town Life podcast, Village of Ilion Mayor John Stephens joined hosts Scott Kinville and Dave Warner to discuss pressing local issues.Stephens provided an in-depth update on the village's ongoing water infrastructure project, which began in 2018 and is nearing completion with new filtration systems to address discoloration. He emphasized the need for patience from residents as flushing and repairs continue. The conversation also delved into collaborative efforts among Mohawk Valley mayors, including shared services like code enforcement and office supplies to combat declining populations and rising costs.Stephens highlighted challenges with the Remington Arms property, including security concerns, power needs for potential redevelopment (possibly as a data center), and the importance of holding owners accountable.Stephens didn't hold back on regional struggles, from utility rate hikes to the potential dissolution of small villages if major projects fail.

In another episode of Carl Ulinski's Building Local Business podcast, electronics whiz Michael Taylor of Tailored Computer Care recounts his journey from self-taught coder and National Guard military police officer to full-time tech troubleshooter.Kicking off as a 2009 side hustle amid deployments and night classes, Taylor hit pause on repairs—until a 2023 epiphany led him to ditch corporate gigs for good. Now thriving in Ilion's Central Plaza (next to LabCorp and Dollar General), he's rebuilt his shop bigger and better, partnering with the Ship & Print store for seamless shipping and printing synergies.

Seve Cully with Coach Dave Scuman, VOICE OF REASON FRANK CRISTIANO, and me as we continue to discuss the government shutdown. Small Business owners are unhappy and concerned as the shutdown enters its 5th week; they are losing billions of dollars in government funding. We talk about the outrageous cost of college tuition. For many schools, it's between 70 K and 90 K, and that's why this generation is disenfranchised. Kids are spending a small fortune, graduating with degrees, and expecting to start a 6-figure-income job. Frank and Dave discuss the loss of "sweat equity" as Frank shares that he grew up in a small house, while his father worked as much as he could to save money. After he scraped together enough cash, he started his own business, Tony's Pizzeria, in Washington Mills, which Frank runs today. Dave moved in with his father and built his company from the ground up, doing football camps. It took years to become successful. The guys believe social media has corrupted our society. Young people see these influencers driving nice cars, living in mansions, and they want it. Damn it, they spent $300,000 on a college education and deserve that lifestyle. They are impulsive and don't want to save money, work for that life; it has to happen NOW!

This week I talk about college football and the firing of coaches going on. Universities are spending so much money now on players, coaching salaries are high, they don't have time to wait. It has been hit or miss. We catch up on the NFL and do the NY Giants have a franchise QB in Jaxson Dart?

All New Rebel Republic with Steve Cully and the VOICE OF REASON, FRANK CRISTIANO. Coach Schuman had to miss because his team was playing a game. We started by discussing the release of hostages, which Hamas provided after negotiations with President Trump and Israel followed soon after, doing the same. We dive deep into the Government shutdown. Is there an end in sight? Both Republicans and Democrats have drawn lines in the sand, and nobody seems ready to budge. Funny how in history, the longest government shutdown was in 2017, lasted 35 days, and it was with President Trump as well. He went after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Shumar, saying he is making poor decisions and the Democrats lack any kind of leadership. We finish by talking about New York City Mayoral Candidate Mr. Mamdani and the $13,000 that he received in campaign finance donations from outside the United States. It is illegal to accept foreign donations. Recently, his mother-in-law gave $500, and all the money will have to be returned. It's a simple drop in the bucket; Mamdani has a warchest that will blow the other candidates out of the water.

Gerard J. Snyder, a lifelong Upstate New Yorker and Dolgeville attorney, steps into the political arena in a revealing episode of the Small Town Life podcast, hosted by Dave Warner on the Studio 25 Podcast Network.

All New Rebel Republic with Steve Cully, Coach Schuman, VOICE OF REASON FRANK CRISTIANO, and Senior Political Correspondent Tyler King. We discuss the government shutdown and how no end seems to be in sight, plus it doesn't look like either side wants to resolve the issues. Republicans are using the shutdown to blame Democrats, saying they are rejecting every offer being made, and blaming them to hopefully gain more support. Democrats say Republicans are stalling, stalemating them at every turn. Democratic Minority leader Chuck Shumur has to take a hard line because he was harshly criticized last time when he caved. It does not appear to have an end in sight.

Rebel Republic returns with Coach Schuman and me (Steve Cully), while Frank Cristiano is in Italy. We discuss AG Pam Bondi and the DOJ's new investigation into the 2016 election, where Russian collusion allegations, tied to Trump's friendly ties with Putin, clouded Clinton's loss. The probe's outcome remains to be seen. We also cover NYC mayoral candidate Mamdani, who leads polls with Senator Warren's endorsement, though his bold ideas raise questions about feasibility. Lastly, we're surprised by Trump's executive order on college athletics, targeting NIL deals to ensure payments are legitimate—like $50K for commercials—but not boosters paying millions without endorsements. Aimed at protecting sports programs, especially women's, the order's enforcement is tricky, and determining a player's “worth” remains subjective.

As the city buzzed with the excitement of the 38th annual Canal Celebration this week, one returning resident brought a lifetime of stories back to his hometown roots. Tom Prestopnik, a 1942 Little Falls native now living in Port St. Lucie, Florida, stopped by Studio 25 for an engaging podcast interview with host Dave Warner on Small Town Life, part of the Studio 25 Podcast Network.

We talk about Trump playing peacemaker in the Thailand and Cambodia violence that broke out, also giving Russia 10 days to withdraw, and a ceasefire with Ukraine. We were horrified watching the shootout in Manhattan, which killed a New Police officer. Then we saw a horrific beatdown of a woman in Cincinnati by five people who were arrested. Most disturbing was that 100 people were there watching, filming with their cell phones, only one person called 911, and nobody intervened to help this woman. It made me sick to watch people immediately take out their phones to film the brutality, instead of stopping the fight, stepping in to protect her. Mamdani wants to defund the police in NYC; shootouts like what we saw in Manhattan will be commonplace without a strong police presence. We also discuss the Texas Legislature meeting incident where a democratic candidate for the 18th district had to be physically removed from the room. He was furious about redistricting because he felt it made no sense, other than to gain more republican support.

Rebel Republic - The Best and most controversial political talk show in the northeast. With Coach Schuman, Coach Schuman's Football, VOICE OF REASON Frank Cristiano, and Steve Cully discuss the happenings this week according to MSNBC. We had record viewership last episode, especially for a few interesting clips by Frank, which sparked debate, so we go over some of the responses. Dave talks about the illegals who were deported to Sudan because they were criminals, and their country of origin would not accept them back. Attorneys fought that this was cruel and unusual punishment, ignoring a directive by SCOTUS. However, the deportation was merely delayed, and the illegals were sent. Dave's argument was because they were not American citizens, the constitution does not apply to them which angered many people. Frank talked about how people can save more money and told a story about a woman who used an interview at his business just to collect unemployment. We discuss the Epstein files and wonder what in the hell happened there? How did the list disappear? Was there a chance of actual innocence?

Coach Schuman, VOICE OF REASON FRANK CRISTIANO, and Steve Cully are back to talk about the news in politics this week. Iran and Israel are hopeful of a ceasefire. President Trump commands a room and gets things done. As Frank pointed out, Trump has done more in 6 months than Biden did in 4 years. If he can end the Israel/Hamas conflict, plus Russia vs Ukraine, he may deserve a place on Mount Rushmore. I challenged the guys to name their top presidents since Kennedy. The best, most successful leaders since JFK. Most picked Reagan, Clinton and Trump. I went with Trump, Clinton, and Reagan. As for the worst presidents, Jimmy Carter, Ford, LBJ. I went with Bush and Nixon as well. A spirited episode of Rebel Republic.
