In this episode of Through My Eyes, Ralph Renzulli interviews Vietnam Veteran Bruce Hartness, who served as an infantry soldier in the Army from May 1967 until May 1968. He said that he hadn't paid attention to the war when he was in school, but when he graduated, he was drafted six months later. “I had never really thought about it,” but when he got the notice, he said it felt sudden, startling, and eye-opening. Suzi quickly became the band's lead singer and front person. They successfully toured for 7 years before changing their name to Cradle. Ever heard of this head football coach named Tony Dungy? Of course you have, and he's known for his ability not only to win football games, but to be a quiet and effective leader in AND out of the locker room. And on this week's Tips from Trestle, I got the chance to speak with the co-author of his biography and leadership expert, Nathan Whitaker. I get some amazing backstory on Nathan's time working with the Super Bowl champion coach, as well as deep dive into how indirect leadership can and should have a significant impact on organizations in the industry. As a diehard football fan (Go Cats!) and student of leadership, this was as much fun as one could have on a podcast. Nathan Whitaker is a motivational speaker, the co-author of eight New York Times best sellers, and a former executive in the National Football League (with a Super Bowl ring). He has spoken to corporations, sports teams, and trade associations across the country and world, including the Miami Dolphins, Duke Business School's Leadership Symposium, the International School of Bangkok, and has delivered numerous commencement addresses. He holds degrees from Duke University, University of Florida, and Harvard Law School. A two-sport athlete in baseball and football at Duke University, he played for Steve Spurrier on Duke's most recent ACC Championship football team. After law school, he spent two years as a law clerk for US District Judge William Terrell Hodges, and then entered private practice. In 1998, he joined the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he was responsible for the football operations & budgeting, as well as salary cap and player contract negotiations. In 2001, he went to work for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Tampa, he met and worked alongside Tony Dungy, and it was here he earned that Super Bowl ring. Turning his talents to become an author, he helped pen Tony Dungy's 2007 memoir, Quiet Strength. Since its release, it has become one of the best-selling hardcover sports autobiographies ever, and has over two million copies in print. He also written other books, including: Role of a Lifetime, with James Brown of CBS Sports (2009), Uncommon, with Tony Dungy (2009, #2 NYT Bestseller), The Mentor Leader, with Tony Dungy (2010, #2 NYT Bestseller), Through My Eyes, with Tim Tebow (2011, #6 NYT Bestseller Nonfiction List), and Snap Decision, a novel for teens. Whitaker currently lives in Gainesville, Florida with his wife, Amy, and two daughters, Hannah and Ellie. They have a dog, RickyBobby, and three cats, Hemingway, Fezzik & Scout. Empire. On this episode Albert and I chop it up about a lot of different things but first he wanted to let me and everyone else know that he was motivated and inspired to get back to recording and releasing music due to drawing inspiration from seeing Jon Woo working with Marzz at the H.E.R. concert. We then take it back to the beginning of time and talk about his memories of growing up in New Orleans, where he got the name Young Sweet, the Ward he's from and the Cash Money and No Limit Records inspiration on hip-hop/rap culture.Albert then details moving to Kentucky where he and I would meet and his mother told me he was an inspiring rapper. At that time Albert would go by Young Sweet and was apart of Goodfellas and group that consisted of 4-5 friends from school. Each member would drop projects, burn them on CD and push them out in school and in the streets.  A few years later they would form the duo Cam Dollaz & Young Sweet, they met Producer Damian “Texx” of “Bread Boy Beats” where they got a beat and made the hit track “Gotta Get It”.We zero in on the Mia Ann and Rhythm Liquor deal, his highly anticipated tape “This Is Me”, how he linked with DJ Slikk, the album release party and what happened afterwards. From there Albert Craig and I close out by talking about what he is currently working on, if he is really getting back to recording/releasing music, what the family is up to, his kids love for music and much more. Tap in now and get a Clearer Vision Through Conversation. Support the show

Most of us fail miserably in highlighting more frequently the barriers and discrimination experienced by people with disabilities (seen and unseen). In this episode of I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY, I talk to my friend María Fernanda Saavedra about why she authored “A través de mis ojos” (Through My Eyes), a personal inside look into how she overcame being diagnosed as a child with an eye condition that led to blindness. We talk about the first time we met, and I had no idea she couldn't see because she refuses to use a cane to navigate the world – María tells us why. She also shares how dance has been part of her life since she was a little girl and the joy that performing and teaching others how to dance traditional music from her beloved Colombia and other countries allow her to debunk myths about people with disabilities. With a Master's in Social Work and BS in Psychology, María has had a long career in case management with organizations developing tailored plans, interventions, and support networks for youth and adults that need help. As an IDEAS expert (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Sustainability), she also started her entrepreneurship journey providing counsel to organizations on best practices in the delivery of equitable services and opportunities. This self-proclaimed diva is making a mark on stage, in the community, and in Corporate America. I know this eye-opening conversation benefited me, and I certainly hope you find value in it as well.

Through My Eyes…traces Andre Nirenberger's survival, struggles and successes. This 70.000 word memoir, told in Andre's own words, features 15 pages of memorabilia. Andre was born in Poland in 1939 to a Catholic mother and a Jewish father. His father was in Paris at the family's textile business when World War II started. Andre and his mother fled through Poland and Germany, often hiding and narrowly avoiding being taken to Auschwitz. Terri Merrick is the Executive Director and Founder of the Pensacola Dream Center. Terri tells us it was after a mission trip to India that God put it in her heart to be on mission right where God had planted her, in Pensacola. Now she runs a mission that is doing weekly service to people who need it. Her mission, through God's guidance and help, provides food for the hungry, mentoring for those who struggle with addiction or who have been a victim of human trafficking and so much more. I love Terri. She isn't affiliated with any local church. She is all about unity. She is about JESUS and His Word. Terri serves the Lord. Be encouraged by Terri's chat and then at the end of this podcast I share some encouragement from Tim Tebow's book called, "Through My Eyes." Terri shares Hebrews 10:34-39 which says:34 You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. 35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For,“In just a little while,    he who is coming will come    and will not delay.”[f]38 And,“But my righteous one will live by faith.    And I take no pleasure    in the one who shrinks back.”39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Connect with the Pensacola Dream Center:Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/pensacoladreamcenter/Website - https://www.pensacoladreamcenter.org/ We also talk about perseverance and giving everything to God from a small section of one of Tim Tebow's book's called "Through My Eyes."

On November 14, 1960, Ruby Bridges integrated the all-white William Frantz Public School in her New Orleans neighborhood. She was six years old. Ruby's courageous journey helped pave the way for Black and brown students across the United States to gain access to educational opportunities that had been denied to them for centuries. Sixty years later, “Black Lives Matter” has become a rallying cry for an end to the systemic racism that continues to harm African Americans nationwide. Ruby is still speaking out and still speaking up. In 1995, she created the Ruby Bridges Foundation, which is dedicated to fostering respect and equality for people of all races and backgrounds. She talks with children everywhere about the disease of racism, which she says is “a disease of the heart.” In this episode, Ruby talks with host Suzanne McCabe about the events that led her parents to risk the hostility of segregationists for a better life and how her story can help today's young people bring about lasting change and equality. To learn more and watch the video from this live session, please visit truefire.com/live.About Peter: Peter Mazza is an exciting jazz guitarist recognized for his creative and virtuoso interpretations of jazz standards as well as his passionate and thoughtful compositions. Blending clean and fluent lines with colorful chord voicings and driving pulse, he creates imaginative ensemble arrangements as well as lush solo guitar pieces.Born and raised in New York City, he attended La Guardia High School of Music and the Arts, then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music and a Masters from The Juilliard School (his Masters on a full scholarship). He studied under guitarists- Allen Hanlon, Fred Fried, Jack Wilkins, Rodney Jones, Dennis Koster. His performing career began while still in school when he earned the leader’s role at a four-night-a week jam session at Augie's Jazz Bar, now called Smoke. He played there with Brad Mehldau, Roy Hargrove, Joel Frahm, Chris Potter, Donny McCaslin, Uri Cane, Christian McBride, Larry Grenadier, Dwayne Burno, Greg Hutchinson, Jeff Ballard and many others.Peter went on to gain acceptance to the prestigious Thelonius Monk Jazz Competition, where he was ranked semifinalist. He has performed guitar duos in NYC with Jonathan Kreisberg, Mike Moreno, Freddie Bryant, Pete Bernstein, Paul Bollenback, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jack Wilkins, Gene Bertoncini, Barry Greene and many more. His groups have been featured at jazz venues such as Dizzy’s Club, Birdland, The Knitting Factory and the Cornelia Street Café and as part of special events held at the United Nations, Rainbow Room, Rialto Room, The Allen Room, The River Club, The Yacht Club, Tribeca Grill, Le Bernadin, Brigewater's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's.12 years ago, Peter began a Sunday night trio residency at The Bar Next Door at La Lanterna that is still vital today. His trio has featured Hendrik Meurkens, Will Vinson, John Ellis, Donny McCaslin, Jon Irabagon, Patrick Cornelius, Jacam Manricks, Etienne Charles, Itai Kriss, Matt Penman, Matt Clohesy, Hans Glawischnig, Marco Panascia, Ben Williams, Haggai Cohen-Milo, Brian Charette, Ari Hoenig, Bruce Cox and many more.Over the course of his steady-Sunday-night, Peter has favored the use of 2 different instrumentations that have complimented intimate size of the BND and the club’s exclusive trio format. Those trios boldly explore texture and rhythm without the presence of drums. They include a guitar with bass and horn group, then a guitar with keys and bass group. His current trio with Misha Tsiganov on piano and Thomson Kneeland on Bass just recorded a debut release called “Circles and Lines" on Peter’s own Urban Flower Records. After successfully launching his residency-gig, early on Peter helped implement a 7-night-a-week schedule of jazz music at the Bar Next Door at La Lanterna that has featured an outstanding and diverse array of guitar and saxophone-led trios, from some of New York’s most seasoned musicians, to some of its most exciting new talent. In an effort to continue to expand the club’s offerings as its Musical Director, 3 years ago he designed and implemented an Emerging Artist Series that has featured the best college-aged musicians playing early sets that occur on 4 nights of every week.Peter has been invited to perform and guest speak at New York University, The Manhattan School of Music and at the Peabody Institute. Nathan Whitaker: Small Encounters, Big ImpactIt would be easy to assume that being intimately acquainted with big names like Tony Dungy and Tim Tebow would either make a guy proud and cocky or it would have the opposite effect and make him feel small and insignificant. So it seems like a pretty special case when the guy is level-headed, inspired, and inspiring all at the same time. You may already know the name Nathan Whitaker. He co-authored Quiet Strength: The Principles, Practices, and Priorities of a Winning Life with Tony Dungy and then Through My Eyes, co-authored with Tim Tebow. But Nathan didn't start out as an author. He was a two-sport college athlete in college, then studied law, and eventually he found himself working in Tampa for the Buccaneers on legal, salary cap, and scouting matters. It was there that he got to know Dungy, who would later remark that if ever a biography were to be written about him, it would be authored by Whitaker. But Whitaker wasn't even a writer then! Still, the idea fell on fertile ground. The project took three years for Nathan to complete, and along the way, he lost his job with the Buccaneers and worried he wouldn't be able to provide for his family. In today's episode, Nathan reflects on his journey to authorship and motivational speaker. He believes that what some might call “coincidences” are actually Divine Appointments that God uses to steer, instruct, and encourage us. Nathan shares stories about both Dungy and Tebow. We discuss the self-doubt and questions he faced at various twists and turns of his life. Nathan shares some powerful thoughts about impact. When we look back on our own lives and think of the people who have helped us get to where we are today, we rarely credit star athletes or “influencers” for our success. No, it's parents, siblings, extended relatives, friends, colleagues, coaches, etc. who have had the greatest impact on our lives. So Nathan exhorts us to strive to make “small” impacts on the lives of those we encounter daily as those “small” interactions tend to be the most impactful ones. Quotes:“Often, some of the greatest opportunities and most exciting things come when you change up things.” – Nathan Whitaker“And Tony said, ‘Nathan, I can't help but think that there are times when God wants there to be a circus so that people can see how we behave, that we believe in something bigger.'” – Nathan Whitaker“There are a lot of God-ordained moments, and we don't often realize those.” – Nathan Whitaker“We underestimate the small interactions.” – Nathan Whitaker“A lot of times we're not where we want to be, but I've learned to try to own the role that I'm in.” – Nathan Whitaker“I've been more intentional about doing small things that are in the direction that I want to go, and those have made outsized impacts on me.” – Nathan Whitaker“If I can impact the person next door or the people under my roof, that's really my purpose, and that's where I'm supposed to be having an impact.” – Nathan WhitakerSome Questions I Ask:When thinking about practicing gratitude, who would you want to thank for your success today? (03:11)What can the listeners and I learn from your “changed careers”? (04:44)Share about the process of enduring through tough times while hoping for something better. (06:30)Tell me about your various degrees and how they relate to the three years of darkness you mentioned previously. (11:23)How did you meet and grow your relationship with Tony Dungy? (13:57)What do feel – or what are you reminded of – when you're in Tony's presence? (17:43)Would you consider Coach Dungy a mentor? If so, why are mentors crucial? (18:58)Tell about your work with Tim Tebow. (22:31)Do you believe in coincidences? (27:30)What type of groups do you like to speak to? (29:42)Why is having an impact important? (34:13)Why is practicing gratitude important? (40:32)What are you looking forward to? (43:05)What's one weird thing that most people don't know about you? (46:24)Is there a belief, behavior, or habit that has improved your life? (48:28)Besides working in the yard, where do you find peace in life? (50:11)What do you believe to be your purpose? (51:33)In This Episode You Will Learn:Why change can be hard but can also bring opportunities (05:06)Why “all things working for your good” won't necessarily look attractive (7:21)How persistence paid off for Nathan (08:16)About Nathan's background (11:53)How Tony Dungy was in inspiration to Nathan (4:05)The value of mentors (20:24)About Nathan's relationship with Tim Tebow (24:29)About the groups Nathan speaks to and what he speaks about (30:09)About the impact everyday interactions can have (35:30)About the importance of living in the now (39:08)How being grateful can change your perspective (41:12)Connect with Nathan Whitaker:NathanWhitaker.comNathan's booksNathan on TwitterAlso Mentioned on This Show:Romans 8:28Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear

Over the course of the last five years, Tim Tebow has established himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of college football and a top prospect in the NFL. During that time, he amassed an unparalleled resume - winning two BCS national championships; becoming the first sophomore in NCAA history to win the Heisman trophy; and in the face of massive public scrutiny, being drafted in the first round of the NFL draft by the Denver Broncos. Now, in Through My Eyes, Tebow brings listeners everywhere an inspirational memoir about life as he chose to live it, revealing how his faith and family values, combined with his relentless will to succeed, have molded him into the person that he is today. As the son of Christian missionaries, Tebow has a unique story to tell - from the circumstances of his birth, to his home-schooled roots, to his record-setting collegiate football career with the Florida Gators and everything else that took place in between. At every step, Tebow's life has defied convention and expectation. While aspects of his life have been well-documented, the stories have always been filtered through the opinions and words of others. Through My Eyes is his passionate, firsthand, never-before-told account of how it all really happened.

Having released popular Drum & Bass music since 1997, on leading labels such as Renegade, Partisan, 720 degrees, and Good Looking Records, Future Engineers finally launch brand new imprint Transference Recordings. It is designed to become a regular outlet – via digital download stores – for top quality and forward-thinking, deep D&B music. The label sets off on a very strong foot with Future Engineers delivering the superb Ellipse EP – a refreshingly diverse collection of deeper D&B tracks from the top drawer. Full Bio Lee Batchelor and Keir Cleminson are Future Engineers, a Glasgow based drum and bass production outfit, best known for their music that was released by LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking Organisation between 1999 and 2003, and also for the progressive, dance floor friendly DJ sets that they have performed across Europe. They released their seminal 12” (“The Silence”/”Shattered”) on Renegade Recordings in 1997, quickly followed by popular material on labels such as Temple Records and Partisan. Almost 10 years since they first broke onto the scene, they have retained their reputation as a boundary-pushing and prolific drum and bass act. Their solid working relationship has been built on the foundations of a life-long friendship, having grown up together in North London and then Glasgow when Keir relocated there in 1990, followed by Lee in 1994. From early childhood they were constantly surrounded by music – from studio sessions to live concerts – due to their fathers who were working together in the industry. Most notably, Keir’s father was lead guitarist in The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and Lee’s Father co-produced some of their albums (he also co-produced “Slide Away” for Oasis on their debut album “Definitely Maybe” years later!) As a result of this exposure and the uptake of musical and studio know-how, it was a natural choice by Lee and Keir to pursue a similar career to their fathers. As teenagers in the 1990s, they listened to London’s pirate radio stations, following the progression of early Hardcore through to Hardcore Techno, Jungle Techno, Jungle and then Drum and Bass – learning the sounds along the way with a view to producing material of their own in future. When Lee moved to Glasgow, bringing with him some studio equipment that he had collected, the pair began to experiment in writing a variety of styles of drum and bass. But it wasn’t until they heard LTJ Bukem’s first Radio One Essential Mix in July 1995 that they identified the kind of sound they were most interested in creating, and tailored their approach in the studio accordingly. Around this time, they also befriended a fellow Glaswegian drum and bass producer, KMC, who had built up a good reputation (and knowledge of the scene) outside Scotland, and he encouraged them to relinquish a demo DAT in order to start the process of getting material signed to record labels. Good Looking Records The relationship with Good Looking Records began in 1999 when LTJ Bukem selected a track entitled “Timeshift” to be part of the third volume of his legendary Progression Sessions mix CD series. It was an instant fans’ favourite due to the futuristic synths and technological vibes that would become two abiding ingredients of Future Engineers’ sound. In the ensuing years, the duo released tracks on a variety of labels under the Good Looking Organisation umbrella – such as PHD’s Ascendant Grooves, Tayla’s Nexus Records and Blame’s 720 Degrees. The latter proved to be a particularly significant outlet for them within the Good Looking camp and their 12”s, “Changes in State”/”Rogue Comet” and “Momentum”/”Organism” played no small part in the fast growing reputation of that particular label. Technetum EP By 2001 they were so highly regarded by the Good Looking Organisation, having almost all of their new music picked up by the labels within, that Lee and Keir accepted the offer to sign an exclusive artist contract. In addition to agreeing a structured release schedule, this presented an opportunity for Future Engineers to showcase their DJ talents at some of the Progression Sessions nights throughout Europe. It proved to be a good year for the Engineers; a track entitled “Merge” was selected to appear on MC Conrad’s Logical Progression Level 4 CD, and the boundary pushing, dance floor shaker “Echo-Location” was one of the highlights of LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad’s Progression Sessions 6, recorded live in the USA. 2002 saw the release of the “Technetium EP” – four slices of hard-edged, techno-orientated, atmospheric drum and bass – which was widely acclaimed by fans and music critics alike. This actually turned out to be the penultimate Future Engineers release on Good Looking Records – the last being a remix of Pariah’s “Midnight” in 2003. Almost three years later, in early 2006, despite a lot of support and guidance from LTJ Bukem, MC Conrad and the rest of the Good Looking Organisation over the years, Future Engineers’ request to terminate the exclusive contract they had signed with them was accepted very amicably. This event marked the beginning of a new era and they did not hesitate to make their mark on the scene once again, releasing the popular “Down-Time” and a remix of Matizz’s “Through My Eyes” on Camino Blue Recordings, and a three track plate (including the much anticipated “Eon”) on Covert Operations Recordings. Comeback The comeback is still building momentum as Lee and Keir continue to write more and more fresh material in the studio and DJ throughout Europe once again. Furthermore, the imminent launch of their brand new imprint – Transference Recordings – spells exciting times ahead… TrackList 1. Malaky - Spiralled - Fokus Recordings 2. Fortunately, I was chosen to be on the launch team and I finished reading my advanced copy of the book last week.  Before I get into my thoughts on the book, it's important to get some background on where I am coming from and what my religious views are.   Playing catch with Tim during Jets training camp in 2012 To say that I am a Tim Tebow fan is an understatement.  I joined the Tebow bandwagon back in 2008 when he and Florida Gators lost to Ole Miss but went on to win the rest of their games, which included the SEC championship over top-ranked Alabama and the national championship game against Sam Bradford’s Oklahoma team.  The wins and the Heisman Trophy weren't what sparked my interest in Tim, it was the speech, later called The Promise, that he made to the media following that loss to Ole Miss (featured below).  Many critics called him a cry baby, but I saw it differently.  I saw a guy who wanted it more than anyone else out on the field.  A guy who had a passion for the game that reminded me of my own and a guy that was just plain-old fun to watch.  When Tim was at the highest of highs winning national championships and a Heisman trophy, I was at my personal lowest of lows.  The fall of 2008 was the first time I couldn't play football in over a decade (check out episode 1 to learn about my story). I went from being a National Honor Society student in high school to being put on academic probation during my first semester at Rutgers.  I was insecure because I was no longer viewed as an athlete, nor did anyone care that I ever was.  This feeling had a huge impact on my relationships at the time and on my confidence.  I looked to Tim as someone who achieved everything that I ever dreamt of as a kid and never thought he would ever feel the way I did at that moment.  I watched the documentary on Tim which showcase his journey to the NFL called Everything In Between about 100 times (featured below, a must watch!) and obviously read his first book, Through My Eyes.  I connected to Tim's drive, work ethic and ability to silence all his haters time and time again.  Despite all this, I never thought he would ever have to feel the pain  I felt after I was told I could never set foot on a football field ever again.  I missed playing more than anything in the world, but“what do you do when something that has defined you your entire life is gone?” This is a question that Tim answer's in his new book because he now does know how I felt.

Although I am obviously a biased fan of Tim Tebow, I am nowhere near on the same level as Tim's religious views.  As far as my religious beliefs go, I am a confirmed catholic who only goes to church on Christmas Eve with my grandmother.  I believe in higher power, but I am still not exactly sure what that means to me. Shaken is definitely heavier on religion side than Through My Eyes, but I felt it was tastefully done in such a way that anyone, religious or not, could enjoy and use the messages written in the book.  I thought Shaken was a perfect book for someone like me because it features practical wisdom from Scripture and insights gained from both Tim and other inspiring individuals. To put it bluntly, I never felt like I was having the bible forced down my throat.  Tim does a great job describing how one can use religion to help them overcome any of life's obstacles and discover a new identity.  Below is my abbreviated take on the book: Release Date : October 25, 2016 Pages: 224 Difficulty: Easy read/short chapters (my favorite) Readers will get behind the scenes insights like the "Tebowing" phenomenon, decision to not change position away from playing quarterback, injuries and relationships with coaches and teammates just to name a few. Top 3 likes: Tim’s vulnerability (not perfect) Explanations, personal stories and other peoples stories to drive points home. Relate-ability, ex. It is normal to question God’s plan, even Tim does sometimes. Top 3 Learning Points: Value of finding your Identity in God because everything else is temporary. “What do you do when something that has defined you your entire life is gone?” Finding the courage to take a stand for something/anything! Healing yourself along the way and getting messages from God Fighting the urge to compare yourself to other people Tom Brady example Social media highlight reels Just be the best you! Favorite quote: “Think about what would be if there was no God.  Instead of there being purpose in the pain, pain is meaningless.” If you are a fan of the podcast, you will be a fan of this book!  I already find myself using some of the tools Tim teaches in Shaken. "I remember really quickly going from, 'Wow, I'm home, this feels great', to 'Holy s***, what did I do to my mom'?" says alpinist Kyle Dempster. "And that was the first time I saw how truly difficult it is for mothers." Today, we bring you two stories--one from Hilary Oliver, and one from Kyle Dempster and his mother, Terry--about the struggle of loving an adventurer. The struggle between loving them so much that you don't want to see them hurt, and loving them so much that you want to support them in pursuing their dreams--in doing the things that make them tick. This story was originally inspired by one of Kyle's blog posts by the same title. You can find more of Kyle's writing at Through My Eyes. You can find Hilary's writing at TheGription. Grab your seat on the bus as we're traveling all around the sports landscape on this podcast. Alicia Jessop from Ruling Sports.comand Business of College Sports.com joins the show to help the guys break down some serious business. After grilling Alicia on how she got started in the blogging world, the guys uncover some very interesting stories on some of Alicia's colleagues and interviewees. Like how she met Nathan Whitaker, co-author of Tim Tebow's book, "Through My Eyes." And she talks about meeting Olympic Gold Medalist Rafer Johnson at a volleyball tournament in California, where she had been trying to score an interview with Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love. Johnson's powerful story, and his character, clearly left a mark on Jessop and we were lucky enough to hear all about it. (Read that story about Rafer Johnson here.) Other than forcing Alicia's to plug her various ESPN radio interviews, the guys also allow her to talk about going to Rockies Spring Training (for the second year in a row), their thoughts on Jim Tracy, and if the Rockies are trying to ruin local watering holes by having Opening Day on a Monday versus the end of the week or weekend. Jessop is also an attorney, so the guys bounce some legal issues off her as well. Like the NFL and NBA age limits, paying college players, and getting Wilson Chandler out of his Chinese deal ASAP. And be sure to listen to find out how to win a Mozgov's Militia T-shirt, as well.

If you were 20 years-old, traveling in the Netherlands and your money, identity and your airplane ticket to get you back home was stolen, what would you do? If you were Eric Tagg, you’d borrow some money, use it to put an ad in the local paper and begin your career as a vocalist. It was this episode in Eric’s life that thrust him into becoming one of the quintessential voices in the West Coast genre. Traveling back to the States to record his first album “Smilin’ Memories” in 1975 is when Eric first met guitarist Lee Ritenour, which blossomed into a long-lasting musical relationship. Eric was Ritenour’s feature vocalist and writing partner on two of his biggest albums, “Rit” and “Rit 2”, including the song “Is It You”, which hit the top 15 on the pop chart and number 1 on the R&B chart in the USA. During this period, Eric released two additional solo albums, “Rendezvous” in 1977 and “Dreamwalkin’” in 1982. It wasn’t until 1997 that he released his fourth solo record “Through My Eyes.” He now spends his time in Greenville, Texas working and writing music for his ministry. Inside MusiCast welcomes Eric Tagg.
