The Relatable Nerds podcast, hosted by Ilsa and Kyra, is hands down one of the funniest duos in the world of podcasts and YouTube reactions. These two talented women do not receive enough credit for their amazing content. From their witty banter to their hilarious antics, I find myself constantly laughing and thoroughly entertained while listening to their podcast.

What makes The Relatable Nerds podcast so special is that it provides a refreshing representation of nerdy girls. As a fellow nerdy girl myself, I love having this kind of representation in a predominantly male-dominated industry. Ilsa and Kyra truly know what they're talking about when it comes to all things nerdy, whether it be Star Wars or any other topic they discuss on their show. Their expertise combined with their humor creates an incredibly enjoyable listening experience.

One aspect that stands out about The Relatable Nerds podcast is the chemistry between Ilsa and Kyra. Their dynamic is simply fantastic; it feels like you're hanging out with your closest friends while discussing your favorite nerdy topics. Their friendship shines through in every episode, making it easy for listeners to connect with them on a personal level.

However, like any podcast, there are some drawbacks to The Relatable Nerds. One possible downside is the occasional lack of depth in discussions. While the comedic aspect of the show is undeniably entertaining, there are times when I wish they would dive deeper into certain topics or provide more critical analysis. It would add another layer of richness to an already enjoyable podcast.

In conclusion, The Relatable Nerds podcast is an absolute gem in the world of podcasts and YouTube reactions. With their contagious laughter, genuine friendship, and extensive knowledge about nerdy content, Ilsa and Kyra have created something truly special here. It's like sitting down with your best friends over a glass of wine and geeking out about all things nerdy. Despite its occasional lack of depth in discussions, this podcast is a must-listen for anyone looking for a dose of laughter and nerdiness. I highly recommend checking it out and joining the wonderful community that Ilsa and Kyra have created.

To celebrate the finale of House of the Dragon, we called in some reinforcements to recreate the *dragons flying overhead* vibes (aka the Air and Water show is happening in Chicago and there are really loud jets all over the city) - apologies if the sound of this episode is triggering, over stimulating or just too annoying to listen to while we gossip about how long it took Daemon to bend his damn knee... This season was....something. The finale was also something.  Regardless - we have two more seasons to look forward to of fierce dragon realness.  Max continues to be the most profitable streaming app, as they dropped their 2025 preview of upcoming shows, which gave us a 10 second, "The Last of Us," season 2 teaser which promptly made us emotional. This past week the highly anticipated blockbuster movie of the summer, extremely sexual, perfectly thrilling and captivating, hilariously written, Deadpool and Wolverine, premiered in theaters. Of course we saw it opening night, after making the greater part of Chicago drinks (service industry workers say hey!)  Despite watching our favorite degenerate anti heros grace the screen in their extra tight spandex-clad suits, in the wee early hours of the morning past our bedtimes, we truthfully could not blink. What a perfect union of two misfits that are perfect for one another. We have a full breakdown and reaction, as well as some SDCC news! While we were distracted about Pedro Pascal being in full blown Reed Richards mode (and we ain't mad about it), the rest of the world was losing their minds over a certain someone returning to the MCU.... You already know who it is. RDJ is back and ready to collect that MARVEL MONEY.

The High Republic was a time when the Jedi were at their very best, thriving you could even say. No Sith were around, everyone was singing "Kumbaya," and there were even yellow sabers! There were cross breeds of aliens and humans everywhere you looked, different jedi fashion, and even sabers that whipped it real good (yes there were lightsaber whips, thank you Vernestra Rwoh)    We break down episodes 1 +2, right after we deliver a lot of nerd news. Disney Plus has become a beacon of light and especially darkness in recent weeks, as we have been tuning into the revival series of X-Men 97 and The Bad Batch, which have us feeling some type of way (extreme sadness). The content material for both of these shows is HEAVY. Just because both of these series are animated, does not mean they hold back on the storylines. Characters through both of these series are constantly judged, hated against, and targeted for no reason, other than them wanting to do good. From the empire trafficking children for M-counts and cloning, to the mutants of X-Men being treated as outcasts and put through genocide because of their genetic makeup, Disney Plus has become a dark place the past few weeks.   ....however, we see the light at the end of the tunnel, or Genosha. Bo-Katan stole the show this season and we really can't wait to see more. Will she get a spin off series? We think it may be in the cards.. Another week, another superhero getting cancelled. It seems both Marvel and DC can not get it together. We're starting to think James Gunn had the right idea but firing everyone who previously had a role in the DC verse. It'll probably be a lot easier to not have to hire Superman, kill off Superman, rehire Superman, just to fire him. This week's episode is dedicated to Grogu and Grogu only (please see title and read it in your best Yoda voice, you know the one where he says everything out of order, but sounds so full of wisdom) We're more than halfway through season three of The Mandalorian and this past week, we were probably the most emotional we've been since seeing Cad Bane in The Book of Boba Fett (can someone please pull his old ass out of the bafta tank already?!?)  We got an intimate look into Grogu's escape from Coruscant during Order 66, including the fallen jedi that were killed defending him and the jedi who saved him - none other than Master Kelleran aka Ahmad Best, who played our favorite Gungan in the prequels - Jar Jar Binks. Order 66 is never fun, yet there seems to be a dim light at the end of the tunnel and that is that more jedi may be alive and in hiding than we realize. Bo Katan is apart of Djin's crew now and we feel the tension over what ultimately must happen: where the hell is the dark saber? We also find out Moth Gideon is still alive? Easily predictable yet we're still about it.

If you've been listening to Relatable for the past almost two years now however, you probably already know a lot of these now confirmed rumors were already predicted by yours truly a long time ago. #dunbeenknowin So, you're welcome and hello to everyone at Disney studios. We know you're keeping tabs on us, especially now because of how much you're incorporating Wong in She-Hulk and creating a character who was directly inspired by us (Madison).  We're about to enter Star Wars season, as the arrival of Andor is in just a week and Tales of the Jedi soon after that. Early 2023, we're getting season 3 of our favorite daddy (Mando...duh) and Ahsoka! *heavy breathing* Our bodies are ready to hibernate and marathon the prequels in preparation.  House of the Dragon continues to be the most epic show on television. We deep dive into all of the drama that's going down, and how hot Daemon looks with that new haircut. Can the grand maester get this guy a potion though? He can't seem to finish things, if you know what we mean..

This past month, Kyra got to sit down with legendary creator, creative, artist, director, producer (and the list goes on because she is literally a superhero) - Kayden Phoenix!  Kayden is the creator of the first Latina superhero team in comic book history, "A La Brava," which showcases a team of fierce women, who all tell a story of fighting against female injustices.  Kayden is also the founder of Chicana Directors Initiative, a non profit for Latina directors in the film industry, which aims to immerse members into sustainable careers in the entertainment industry with fair representation and equal pay. We told you she's a superhero and we're not wrong.  Kayden is a third generation Chicana from East L.A., who puts her direct childhood influences of her mother and grandmother into her art. Whether it's the native dance of folkrico or the influence of Jalisco in her life, you can see the love she has for her native roots in every aspect of her life. We are huge fans of everything Kayden does and are so grateful we got to chat with her about her art!

The nerd tea is piping hot this week and our jaws were to the floor trying to keep up with everything that's been going on.  Whether its Shia Labeauf trying to live in his redemption era and exposing Olivia Wilde, to Abomination escaping from prison, to Rhaenyra being a badass and solving all the problems by arriving fashionably late via dragon - we had a busy week trying to stop on top of it all.  We also got to watch a sneak peak of Andor, the upcoming Star Wars show that will release September 21st with three episodes!  Brace yourself for an episode full of upcoming nerd news you will not want to miss! Thanks for tuning in.

Meanwhile in Chicago... The temperature has dropped ten degrees, we've started to dust off our hoodies from the back of our closets, and the sun seems to be setting earlier, at a rapid rate, as the days go on. Folks, we are wrapping up what is arguably the best season Chicago has to offer - fare thee well summer. You were pretty fun this time around. Dare we say this felt like an almost normal summer, since before Covid times?  However, we are entering what is arguably another great season Chicago gives us - fall! Spooky season is just around the corner, as well as SO MANY tv shows we can't wait to dive right into and nerd out about. Just this past week, we got to watch the premiere episode of the much anticipated, She-Hulk (which did not disappoint). We also got to return to Westeros with House of the Dragon - and let me tell ya, we are very very very excited and thrilled to be back amongst the dragons and our favorite problematic family of blondes. Oh, those Targaryens; we do a full deep dive into episode 1 and where we think this inaugural season will take us. As of right now, House of the Dragon has officially been renewed for a second season, which just gives us mega nerds even more reason to nerd out for what we could potentially see in years to come.  We'll be recording weekly now leading into the winter! Andor is up next y'all. Its about to get good...

This past weekend San Diego Comic Con took over everyone's social media and decided to nearly put us in cardiac arrest over all of the incredibly exciting Marvel news (and there were others obviously - but the MCU definitely came prepared) Unfortunately your favorite podcasters were not able to attend (us...duh) BUT despite our extreme fomo and depression over not being there to cry live to the Wakanda Forever trailer with everyone at that panel - we still decided to dedicate an entire episode to what went down at the biggest comic convention all year. Is Daredevil returning to the MCU sooner than we think? We have a new She-Hulk trailer that looks like a blast, a Fantastic Four official release date, as well as BLADE, SECRET WARS, AND SO MANY MORE. The limit does not exist for nerd news, however our lives are getting pretty worn thin at this point. We only thought we had to make it to May of this year for Obi Wan but the odds are against us now. Thanks for listening.

This past weekend, we were lucky enough to record Episode 46 live at one of our favorite comic cons - Fan Expo! Chicago, you did not disappoint us and we are SO grateful for everyone who came to our show, chatted with us after and have supported this podcast since the beginning. We couldn't do it without you! We created a new segment for Thor Love and Thunder this episode, where we took our favorite reviews from multiple publications - and then reviewed their review! Thor has daddy issues and big golden retriever energy, while Gorr the God Butcher is Voldemort reincarnated!  The nerd news was heavy this week too. We have a sequel coming to Game of Thrones, that will dive into our favorite bastard's life on the wall (poor guy) and we have more exciting news about Andor!

A moment of silence for all nerds the past two weeks - (because of the onslaught of nerd news, shows, movies and everything in between) Its a lot to balance to say the least. And if you're like us, you need at least 3 business days to process each week's Obi Wan episode. Our lives will never be the same after Episode 5 of the series, so naturally we deep dive into what is one of the greatest episodes of Star Wars media ever. Fight us. Ms. Marvel also debuted on Disney+ last week and we're ready to see what the MCU keeps developing with the next wave of young avengers. Its a breath of fresh air, times are changing, summer is here - and we're still immensely grateful you're with us too. Thanks for listening!

And Ilsa is still weird.  In this episode Ilsa and Kyra talk NEVER BEFORE SEEN Star Wars CELEBRATION FOOTAGE including brand new trailers for The Bad Batch Season 2, Mandalorian Season 3, and the new prequel series, Andor.  Of course, this wouldn't be a Star Wars episode if we didn't do our own recap of the first THREE episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi.  Lots of sprinklings of Drake and Dune talk throughout! Enjoy!!

Its officially hot nerd girl summer in Chicago and the sun is out after 42 days of darkness in Chicago (we're not kidding, look it up) This past week we got to FINALLY see Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Sam Raimi did not disappoint! We break down his horror influence over the movie, how epic Wanda was AND how America Chavez has stole our hearts completely. Some of our predictions also ended up coming true. *heavy spoiler alert* We break down the Moon Knight season finale as well, which was nothing short of emotional. What an epic show. We already miss Stephen and Marc...and even Jake kind of. Thank you so much for your support and tuning in to our podcast. Young Dumbledore stole our hearts this week in the latest Fantastic Beasts movie, Morby was a bad boy and didn't live up to expectations and we got a brand new Thor: Love and Thunder trailer! Talk about a hell of a tease, we actually got a split second first look of Natalie Portman as Lady Thor.  Are you watching Moon Knight? If not, we're judging you but also we got you. We recap up to this week's upcoming episode drop - and for only a 6 episode series, there is a lot going on. Marc Spector has our hearts

It's been a minute! Sorry for our brief hiatus, but we've been incredibly busy with work picking up and moving. Adulting really isn't fun...unless you're talking about Moon Knight to your pal, which is exactly what this episode entails.    Hollywood was in shambles this past week. Superhero's are getting exposed, people are getting slapped - everyone probably just needs another quarantine so they can chill and take a break from people for a second. We totally get that karaoke bars are triggering for some (plz don't ever choose a country song) but that's what weed is for. Take several chill pills Ezra Miller. Violence is never the answer.   A new trailer for Dr Strange dropped this past week and we're just about a month away until we get into some more multiverse shenanigans. May is shaping up to be a great month.

February was a blur and we're already 10 days into March.  Hibernation season is almost over and its time to take off the blankets and layers, and get the hell out of bed (just kidding...we'll always make time for DC tv shows) We made it to Episode 40! 40 is a great number, the age of peak life and attractiveness and apparently the episode we get to THANK YOU x a million for helping us reach 1000+ subscribers on our Youtube channel this past week! We love you. Thanks for hanging out with us week after week and listening to our shenanigans.  SO MUCH NERD NEWS. We were finally blessed with the Obi Wan trailer and it was absolutely breathtaking. We will never be over it.  Our much anticipated DC movies have been pushed back until 2023 (The Flash, Aquaman, Black Adam), Dune Part 2 casting news (Hello Yelena), and there's a panic in central park, I mean Kraven the Hunter, because our fav, Heroin Charlie from the tv show Girls has entered the nerd world. We are ready. Cheers!

A list of the reasons why we watch the Super Bowl:  1) the trailers the end. Oh, and Joe Burrow. Duh. And the unlimited amount of alcohol one can consume without being judged.   But seriously you guys, we were not ready for all of the incredible trailers released! Dr. Strange In the Multiverse of Madness (holy shit), Jurassic Park (holy shittt), Moon Knight (oh my lanta) and many more. We recap them all for you.  Arguably one of the best Star Wars episodes ever came out this past few weeks featuring our very own Luke Skywalker and THE BABY, our sweet little green goblin, Grogu. Not to mention our favorite cowboy, Cad MF Bane! The Book of Boba Fett finished strong and set the tone for the upcoming Star Wars shows we are counting down the days to.  Also if you really wanna taste it - we end our episode with a recap of our favorite show, Peacemaker. James Gunn is truly a legend. Wig Wam is getting a whole lot of royalties right about now.

Between Peacemaker and The Book of Boba Fett (and a shit ton of other tv shows), we've had quite the exciting January. Its honestly perfect timing, since January is the only month out of the year where no one judges you if you sleep on your couch every night or become a hermit (we see you trying not to drink, New Years Resolution people)  We obviously are not capable of giving up alcohol. We both have tried, but it is not our battle to fight. Maybe Boba or Marty Byrde can take over for us. However, we are exceptional at sleeping during the day and staying up all night.  ....and we kind of go back to our vampire roots with some fun (and very random) nerdy news. Why is it everyone we love has once played a vampire? Hmmmm....

*CALLING ALL STAR WARS NERDS*  We are finally in our new Star Wars era. The Book of Boba Fett is halfway through its season, the Rogue One spin off show Andor is up to premiere next, and of course, Obi Wan is also set to premiere later this year. We're ready and nowhere near ready at the same time, but to set the mood, we figured - why not invited some fellow Star Wars nerds onto the show?! The creators of "Behind the Bucket : A Midwest Garrison Story" are here to chat with us about their new documentary about the 501st Midwest Legion and their incredible acts of service to the Star Wars community and many others. We cover the behind the scenes of the movie, what the 501st is all about and our favorite parts of the Star Wars galaxy. Of course we have some opening remarks, in which we discuss our perfect, future Utopia we plan on starting. Listen up if you want in.
