Kailee Rosen joins me at Fan Expo Chicago for this live recording. We pick up right where we left off, following her appearance in Episode #183, and this time we are discussing her work in tarot cards, and using that as an allegory for how art affects us all differently. The two of us try to break down the barriers between digital and traditional art, as well as the classic frustration of just trying to get something started. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky, Twitter, or Instagram - @AaronBossig

Help NinetyForChill: The #Podcast get away from paywalls by subscribing to "Ninety For Chill: The Podcast with CatBusRuss". CatBusRuss is doing his best to overcome exhaustion. Fan Expo Chicago calls for exploration means there was no time for relaxation. Our host has worked himself sick, so he felt lucky to get in three movies since returning from Rosemont. And after starting the week with his Netflix DVD rental, "Another Earth", getting up the energy to watch 1979's "The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe" and 2022's "Thor: Love and Thunder" should be considered an accomplishment. These three movies are all worthwhile. "Another Earth" is science fiction that challenges the genre's demand for visual effects. The adaptation of the first "Chronicle of Narnia" is an interesting attempt to sneak Christianity into schools. And while avoiding films in the franchise that are based around a new characters, Russ has enjoyed diving into Phase 4 of the MCU. But all of these features present challenges to enjoy them. There is a very dour premise with the indie film. The cartoon features questionable character designs that make you wonder why they did not stick to their "Charlie Brown" style. And you can see why there are three credited editors on the Marvel movie. It is definitely going to be a one flick movie this week for the CatBus. His strength must be regained.

Helloooo, Chicago! This very special bonus episode was recorded LIVE at FanExpo Chicago '23 on the Creator Stage, and we're so excited to get to share it with you all! To celebrate and thank FXC for inviting us to perform, we decided to honor the Windy City and give a brief overview of a few fannish events in a fandom that owes it all to the Chi: due South. The heartwarming tale of a Canadian Mountie, a deaf wolfdog, some ghosts, and two gentlemen named Ray, due South is one of the hardiest fandoms of the '90s and boy, howdy, was its drama nutty, eh? From the Religious War of '96 to the still-ongoing Ray Wars, due South fans have seen, said, and done it all. And we salute them here, at the first episode we've gotten to record in the same room. Enjoy! (The normal episode for this week is coming soon! COVID is delaying its release, boo.)

A short & sweet episode with audio from a large local card and auto show here in the Chicagoland area. It's a nice prep for C2 and it's always fun to find non-sports goodness in a sports show. The Chicago Sports Spectacular is a show that takes place 2-3 times a year at the Donald E. Stephans Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. It typically features many sports and entertainment autograph opportunities plus fields a health vendor area for card and sports collectible seekers, plus of late, more places to submit cards and autos for authentication and grading. https://chicagosportsspectacular.com From the site: “The Chicago Sports Spectacular is a 350+ vendor table show selling sports and non-sports memorabilia & collectibles.  We feature sports athletes, Hollywood stars and other interesting TV personalities who sign autographs and participate in photo opportunities (photo ops). Don't miss our shows every Nov. and March, and occasionally a smaller summer show.” I ran into my collector friend Karl Schmidt, aka @pilo64 who was waiting on the opportunity to have Hall of Famer Bobby Orr autograph a puck he had. Orr, better known for his days with the Boston Bruins, had played for a time with the Chicago Blackhawks I also found a vendor, Gary Bergquist, who had a very nice table of Non-sport cards and boxes, probably one of the better non-sport offerings at sports card show. Him and his wife were kind enough to talk for a few minutes on a very hectic Saturday afternoon. Inquires for Gary: BergquistGaryD@gmail.com Although pretty busy at his booth, Topps artist Josh Trout showed me a few of the items he had brought with him from his home in Omaha. Although he does mainly sports sketches for Topps, he did get in a handful of Sketchcards for the Masterwork 2022 Set for Star Wars.. On this special episode I spend some time with a couple who has a new book coming out this summer on the Star Wars radio dramas that were on NPR back in the 80's and 90's. The book is titled ‘The Winds that Shook the Stars,' and both authors, John & Mary Jo Tetuno talk about a little about how these came to be and how the book came together. From the description: ‘A comprehensive history of the Star Wars audio dramas. An expanded radio dramatization of the original Star Wars trilogy, produced in 1981, 1983, and 1996 respectively, produced and broadcast by National Public Radio as part of NPR Playhouse. These radio serials were made with the full co-operation of George Lucas, who for one dollar each sold the rights to KUSC-FM, the public radio affiliate at his alma mater, the University of Southern California. Lucas also allowed the use of original sound effects and music from the films. A Wind To Shake The Stars explores the creative origins, production and legacy of this oft-forgotten chapter of Star Wars history.' Available for pre-order now. It's that time of the year again. Every year I've done the show I've been able to sneak into the schedule of the busiest person in the Star Wars galaxy and one of my favorite people in fandom, Mark Newbold of Fantha tracks. He returns to the show to talk about the upcoming CELEBRATION EUROPE and give you some nice insight. I was also curious what he thought of the recent climate of the franchise and what we could be looking to expect to come from the ExCel London. If you're familiar with Mark, then you know this is a conversation you don't want to miss. Mark's been writing since the early 80's and has contributed for various publications about Star Wars and Star Trek since the mid 90's. You have seen his work in Star Wars Insider Magazine since '06, and after years with the online site Jedi News, he helped create Fantha Tracks in 2017, which to this very day/minute and second, covers all aspects of the Star Wars universe. With co-host Mark Mulcaster, Making Tracks is one of the many fine Fantha Tracks podcasts which should be a staple in your weekly playlists and is no stranger to a CELEBRATION Podcast stage. Chicago, you did not disappoint us and we are SO grateful for everyone who came to our show, chatted with us after and have supported this podcast since the beginning. We couldn't do it without you! We created a new segment for Thor Love and Thunder this episode, where we took our favorite reviews from multiple publications - and then reviewed their review! Thor has daddy issues and big golden retriever energy, while Gorr the God Butcher is Voldemort reincarnated!  The nerd news was heavy this week too. We have a sequel coming to Game of Thrones, that will dive into our favorite bastard's life on the wall (poor guy) and we have more exciting news about Andor!
