The Spiral has finally made the trip to Horseshoe Bay, and they're not leaving anytime soon. Yes, that's right. Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens have started their watch of Nancy Drew. They're members of the Drew Crew now. Someone get them a mug from The Claw! Also on deck: A lot of teasing. They teased The Winchesters pilot (don't come for them CW, not a spoiler was mentioned), “Return to Rivervale,” and a special podcast about Candice Patton. They also lamented CW's flop era, asserted Superman and Lois' place in the Arrowverse, gave the Best Boy his due, and dragged the lack of international licensing deals for many of CW's shows. Originally, Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens had planned for Superman and Lois as well as The Flash to take over the pod entirely. Then an update on the sale of The CW rocked everyone's world and they realized they had to provide answers for those who actually want to know what's going on. Buckle up, folks, this ride ain't over yet! Also on deck: The aforementioned takeover, Michael breaks his silence on Gotham Knights, Reed catches us up on In the Dark (and Murphy's bad choices), and the Spiral toasts The Flash for being the longest running Arrowverse show. The CW Spiral is taking over The CW…kind of. Look, if Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens were in charge of their favorite network, they'd be giving Lili Reinhart a talk show, having Liz Gillies host a singing game show, rerunning CW classics, putting your fave CW stars in holiday TV movies, reviving Birds of Prey, and more! Also on deck: Sabrina interviews Kausar Mohammed aka Fast Track on The Flash. The trio give Superman and Lois the praise it deserves, talk Tom Swift's many layers of storytelling and dialogue, unpack the clusterbanana that was part one of The Flash season 8 finale (including the let down of Iris' time sickness reveal), and pull up the green table for an honest talk about the Save Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman campaigns. The Vampire Diaries universe is dead...for now. Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens know it'll resurrect at some point. But they still have every intention of honoring the iconic franchise, its beloved characters, and the moments that left viewers shook. Also on deck: Michael delves into his mixed feelings concerning the end of Diggle's Green Lantern arc, Sabrina gets lost in the weeds of Malex's miniature gazebo storyline on Roswell, New Mexico, and the trio dive into Tom Swift's monocles, motorbikes, and messy relationships. Also, they call for Legends of Tomorrow to be wrapped up, roast CW for its cancellations, and celebrate 1,000 followers and counting on their Twitter account. This week Sabrina Reed and Reed Gaudens are celebrating 100 episodes of Dynasty. The naysayers said this show wouldn't make it past a season. Ha! And, what a 100th episode it was. Let Reed lead you through the momentous occasion while Sabrina provides some commentary from her out-of-context watch. Let's just say it's a good time. Also on deck: An addendum to last pod's Summer on The CW talk (conspiracy theory: We have a mole!), a drama-filled Superman and Lois review courtesy of Sabrina, praising the comedic beats in Tom Swift with Reed pointing out episode 2 needed more walk and talks, and a murder in a chapel thanks to In the Dark. The Spiral was without Michael again this week BUT he'll be back next Monday. Time traveling takes a lot out of a person. Don't worry, he didn't mess up the timeline...we think... Summer is here! Sabrina Reed and Reed Gaudens breakdown what shows are coming to The CW in the hottest season of the year, but they must warn you, it's not much. The network needs to "level up" when it comes to their summer programming. Sure, Roswell New Mexico and In the Dark will be on, but the rest are acquisitions they're not even sure people are aware air on The CW. In a bid for a better summer line-up, Reed Gaudens throws out a Big Brother: Teens idea that could definitely be something that catches people's attention. What The CW needs is non-scripted summer programming that pulls an audience in. Perhaps the Spiral should be tapped as consultants. Just a thought, CW. Also on deck: The Spiral's reaction to the Gotham Knights trailer (including Michael's official statement), a plea for Baby Anthony to just be called Anthony on Riverdale, continued praise for Tom Swift, and more! The Spiral has been bumped down to a duo for the next couple of weeks. But don't worry, Michael Patterson will be back! He's just time-traveling like The Flash. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Note: At the top of the episode, Sabrina says Tom Swift premieres on Monday. That's incorrect. The series premieres Tuesday, May 31 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. Happy Tom Swift premiere day! Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens are along for the ride with this Nancy Drew spin-off which means they've officially kicked off their Drew Crew era...kind of. They've seen his intro episode, but it's a start. Let them tell it, Tom's the new icon in town, The CW has a star in Tian Richards, and Ashleigh Murray is getting everything she deserves as Zenzi Fullerton. Also on deck: CW news including Charisma Carpenter's upcoming role on Dynasty, Michael and Sabrina are finally back to their The Flash reviews (Also, #LetIrIsBeGreat is a campaign they're promoting. All love always to Candice Patton), Reed has a Dynasty update, and Sabrina didn't catch up on All American and All American: Homecoming like she promised BUT she did watch the finales. Reed is living for confusing paternity drama happening at Bringston University while Sabrina's been left with questions. Good thing the show has a season 2! Not to mention the Spiral will be taking the fandoms to the green table to have a talk about #SaveBatwoman, #SaveLegendsofTomorrow, and the other save the CW show campaigns. Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens don't need an excuse to gush about their favorite CW shows but picking the actors and series that deserve to be awarded sure is fun! The trio recognize Nancy Drew, Bitsie Tulloch, Legends of Tomorrow, Javicia Leslie and more as they discuss their favorite moments and arcs on the network. Also on deck: a reminder of CW finale dates, a talk about The CW needing to respect 4400, more excitement over Superman and Lois, a Riverdale dragging, and an announcement about Upfronts coverage! In the wake of the recent cancellations of Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman, Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens discuss the disrespectful decision The CW made. Fans around the globe were hurt by the cancellations not only because of the way they were done but also because Legends of Tomorrow ended on a cliffhanger and Batwoman had more story to tell. #SaveLegendsofTomorrow and #SaveBatwoman are the rallying cries of viewers looking for these shows to continue. Whether that's a TV movie for Legends or another season of Batwoman, the fans are fighting for these shows and so are The Spiral. Also, the trio talk about the importance of representation, what else is in jeopardy of cancellation, and how they're feeling about the upcoming pilots in this new CW era. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres this week on May 6 so, of course, Michael Patterson is ready to give Sabrina Reed and Reed Gaudens a rundown of the Arrowverse's multiverse. The Arrowverse has a long and storied history. One so influential that the MCU owes its on-screen multiverse attempt to DC TV's successful multiverse run on The CW. Yes, they're making that bold claim. No, they're not open to arguments at this time, thank you. Also on deck: a discussion about their favorite Arrowverse crossovers, a call for Supergirl to make a return, a shout out to Jordan Elsass' performance on Superman and Lois' excellent Bizarro world episode, and more lamenting about The Flash. This week's toast is going to Heartstopper, a Netflix original teen series that has taken the world by storm and absolutely deserves every bit of praise it's been given. We're on a campaign to #RenewHeartstopper. We need more of Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson's love story! Looking for a specific part of the pod? The Arrowverse has a special place in Sabrina Reed and Michael Patterson's hearts. From Arrow to Superman and Lois, the Arrowverse has redefined what superhero television can be. There wouldn't be a superhero renaissance without the impact of these shows. Yes, that means you owe Marvel TV and HBO Max's DC TV to The CW. You can fight us on it, but we're right! In this week's episode, while Reed Gaudens is away, these super friends will launch into a discussion about the Arrowverse's future on the network, the importance of supporting shows like Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow, as well as champion a return for Katie Cassidy's Black Canary in Justice U. Also, Javicia Leslie gets a special shoutout for her portrayal of Ryan Wilder which saved Batwoman and made the show we know and love what it is today! Want more CW content? Follow us on? FanSided is celebrating 15 years of bringing you the best content from sports to entertainment. As such, Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens have their eyes on the future, specifically The CW's...at least in terms of Superman and Lois. Will Supergirl finally be seen on the series about her cousin? Can we expect a crossover with The Flash? We want an Iris West and Lois Lane team up. Come on, CW, give us that dynamic duo one more time! Also, the Spiral talks if and when Clark will tell Lana Lang that he's Superman, give yet another mixed review of The Flash, praise Dynasty's handling of Fallon Carrington's growth, and lodge complaints against Riverdale. It's dragging, y'all, and it's not just a ratings issue. There are problems with the writing. Plus, there's a special shout out to the Legends of Tomorrow fandom. #RenewLegendsofTomorrow! The CW is reboot and spin-off central. From the expanding All American universe to the Arrowverse, the network hasn't found a show yet that it can't either bring back from the dead (looking at you Charmed!) or spin into another story. We're not complaining, but its roster is full of iconic characters. As such Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens have their own thoughts on what shows should be revived next like One Tree Hill and Ghost Whisperer. Not to mention the Colbys on Dynasty deserve their own spin-off series. Join the trio as they delve into The CW history concerning reboots and spin-offs, the good and the bad. Also, as usual, they'll be diving into their weekly reviews of The Flash and Superman & Lois. Plus, Reed reveals the results of his four episode test. Did All American: Homecoming come out on top? CW renewal news has hit the Internet! Well…some of it has. Apparently, The CW is sitting on the rest of it. Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens weren't surprised by renewals for All American, Superman and Lois, The Flash and a few more shows but Nancy Drew made the early renewal cut, too, and that felt like a curveball. In this episode, they'll discuss why the Drew Crew may have succeeded where Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow fans have not (though they're still rooting for those shows). As well as talk casting news since The Winchesters found their John and Mary. Plus, the Spiral are manifesting a Supernatural reunion on Gotham Knights now that Misha Collins is going to Gotham. Also on deck: A Superman and Lois review that digs into the Kent bros. drama, a discussion about the Hotness on The Flash that goes off the rails, and an aside about Twitter toxicity. Riverdale fans, the time has come! Sabrina Reed, Michael Patterson, and Reed Gaudens are bringing you their Riverdale season 6 hot takes and opinions now that our show is finally back. You're in for a Barchie spiral, a sprinkle of Bughead hope, and a full on roast when it comes to the misery the writers are putting Veronica and Jughead through once again. Also, Cheryl looked fabulous that needs to be noted. Besides Riverdale love, we'll dive into Walker: Independence casting news, which CW shows we think will escape the cancellation guillotine, praise Fallon's journey on Dynasty, express our displeasure with the latest episode of The Flash, and toast the return of Charmed.
