My month of favorite movies continues this week with Superman - the 1978 film that brought the Man of Steel to the big screen and still holds up as one of the best entries in its genre. We'll hear two of its stars: Glenn Ford, who played Jonathan Kent, the adopted father of the future Superman, and Jackie Cooper, who ran the Daily Planet newsroom as editor Perry White. Ford stars in "The End of the Road" (originally aired on CBS on February 6, 1947) and Cooper stars in "The Clock and the Rope" (originally aired on CBS on December 5, 1947). Then, we'll hear the inaugural episodes of Superman's radio series - a six-part story that brings him from Krypton to Metropolis and to his first showdown with a supervillain (originally aired between February 12 and February 23, 1940).

Quick recap This was the 259th Green Grassroots Emergency Election Protection Coalition Zoom call, focusing on current issues including the war in Iran, ICE activities in Minnesota, and election protection efforts. The meeting began with reports from Hedy Tripp and Jonathan Kent about ongoing ICE operations in Minneapolis, where agents have gone underground but continue targeting communities through tactics like posing as community members. Joel Rubin, former Assistant Secretary of State under Obama, provided analysis of the Iran conflict, explaining how Trump's decision to attack Iran may be connected to domestic political issues including the Epstein scandal. The discussion then shifted to election protection, with Andrea Miller sharing details about voter suppression efforts in Virginia and encouraging phone banking to support redistricting. The latter part of the meeting featured Dr. Paul Heroux presenting research linking electromagnetic fields from power systems and telecommunications to diabetes, explaining how electromagnetic radiation can interfere with metabolic processes and drug effectiveness. The call concluded with plans to discuss nuclear power issues, including the potential revival of the Palisades nuclear plant in Michigan. Next steps myla: Send David a letter and/or proposition for the Great American Write-In of Orange County this coming Saturday myla: Email and text Harvey the link to the Zoom call (already in progress, but explicitly mentioned) Mike/Team: Connect David (or have him put his email in the chat) to receive the letter/prop from myla Sunny/Andrea/Team: Revisit and update the usgrassroots.org election protection website for 2026, including review of usable content and planning a campaign for November election protection Andrea/Team: Recruit and organize phone banking for Virginia redistricting, with training every Tuesday and Thursday, and provide information to voters Camilla: Post the link to the "Spring Clean Your Wireless" initiative and 704 No More in the chat Sunny/Andrea/Ray Lutz/Ray McClendon: Devote next week's meeting to a deep dive on election protection, including website review and campaign planning Anna Georgie/Clamshell Alliance/Partners: Send out call to 465 groups and people to make the connection between No Kings, No Nukes, and No War for March 28th actions Kevin Kamps: Share contact information and links for further information and support (already done in chat, but requested by Sunny) All interested: Participate in March 28th No Kings/No Nukes/No War actions and help make the connection publicly Sunny/Team: Post the link to Anna's article/memo about linking No Kings and No Nukes (if available) Sunny/Andrea/Ray Lutz/Ray McClendon: Have a full session next week on election security, including deep dive on Dominion/Liberty Vote issues Summary Minneapolis ICE Activities Community Update The meeting focused on updates and discussions about ongoing issues, particularly in Minneapolis regarding ICE activities and community responses. Hedy Tripp and Jonathan Kent reported from Minneapolis, describing recent protests, the presence of ICE patrols, and the continued impact on local communities, including schools. The group discussed the presence of law enforcement, including park police and sheriff's deputies, and the use of drones for surveillance. There was also mention of potential future guests, including Nikima Levy Armstrong, a local civil rights advocate. The meeting emphasized the need for continued vigilance and community solidarity in the face of ongoing challenges. Surveillance and U.S.-Iran Relations Update Jonathan reported on changes in surveillance tactics in the Twin Cities, noting that while overt operations have decreased due to legal challenges, agents have become more strategic by hiring from within communities. Joel Rubin provided an analysis of U.S.-Iran relations, explaining how the current conflict evolved from the Obama administration's nuclear deal with Iran, through Trump's withdrawal from the agreement and military actions, to the recent Israeli strikes on Iranian targets. Joel highlighted the humanitarian concerns and lack of clear end-state strategy following the military actions. Trump's Iran Attack Strategy Discussion Joel and Sunny discussed the timing and potential motivations behind Trump's decision to attack Iran, particularly in light of recent domestic issues and the potential influence of the Epstein case. Joel expressed skepticism about the popularity of the war and questioned whether it aligns with U.S. national security strategy, noting that the Middle East was not a priority in recent national security documents. They also touched on the challenges of addressing Iran's nuclear capabilities, including the enriched uranium that remains in the country and the potential risks involved in retrieving it. The conversation concluded with a brief exchange about pre-existing plans and international dynamics surrounding the conflict. Iran Missile Strike Discussion The group discussed the recent missile strike that killed schoolgirls in Iran, with Joel suggesting the target may have been outdated due to an nearby IRGC facility and expressing hope for a thorough investigation. Melissa Bird, a congressional candidate from Oregon, criticized the lack of rules of engagement in the conflict, arguing that Secretary Hegseth's removal of such rules would maximize civilian casualties. She also highlighted concerns about veterans' services and AIPAC's influence on congressional decisions. The discussion concluded with Melissa confirming that ICE will not be establishing a facility in Newport, Oregon. ICE Prevention and Election Strategies The group discussed efforts to prevent ICE from establishing facilities in Oregon, with Melissa reporting successful community pushback against proposed hotel accommodations. Lynn raised concerns about military indoctrination processes and described connections between U.S. and Israeli interests. The discussion then focused on election protection strategies for the upcoming November 26th election, with plans to update and revitalize the existing usgrassroots.org website to address potential voter disenfranchisement efforts, particularly affecting women and rural voters. The group also discussed recent developments regarding the Voting Rights Act and gerrymandering, noting that Republican attempts to manipulate district boundaries may be limited in their effectiveness. Political Discussion and Redistricting Sunny and Andrea discussed political topics, including potential presidential candidates and election-related issues. Andrea addressed Ruth's question about Trump's proposed SAVE Act, explaining that it would likely not pass constitutional muster due to federalism principles and states' control over election administration. The conversation then shifted to Virginia's redistricting efforts, where Andrea presented slides about the counter-campaign against proposed redistricting changes, highlighting the hypocrisy of opponents who claim the changes would silence Black voters while opposing the teaching of Black history in schools. Virginia Redistricting Vote Discussion Andrea discussed an upcoming Virginia redistricting vote on April 21st, where voters will decide whether to approve a new redistricting commission similar to California's system. She highlighted concerns about an opposing campaign led by a white person in Williamsburg that she felt was misusing Black history. The discussion included information about phone banking opportunities through the Center for Common Ground, with 45 days of early voting and 470,000 phone numbers in the database. The conversation then shifted to Anna's article connecting the No Kings Day (March 28th) with the No Nukes movement, particularly in relation to the 47th anniversary of the Three Mile Island accident. Diabetes and Electromagnetic Fields Research Dr. Paul Heroux presented research connecting type 2 diabetes with electromagnetic fields from power systems and telecommunications, explaining how non-thermal radiation can interfere with human metabolism and potentially affect the efficacy of medications like metformin. He described how electromagnetic fields can act as agonists of metformin, influencing electron traffic in the oxidative phosphorylation pathway and potentially impacting millions of people with diabetes, whether they take metformin or not. The discussion highlighted concerns about the proliferation of electromagnetic fields without adequate health studies and suggested reaching out to medical associations to raise awareness about this potential risk. Electromagnetic Frequencies and Diabetes Link Paul discussed the potential link between electromagnetic frequencies and diabetes rates, citing historical data on power consumption and diabetes trends in the United States following the 1973-1974 oil embargo. He explained that both low-frequency and radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation can have detrimental metabolic effects, including inhibiting mitochondria and affecting insulin binding. Paul suggested that mitigation strategies are possible for both electrical networks and radio frequency radiation, though significant changes would be needed in personal habits and industry practices to address the issue effectively. EMF Health Effects Discussion The meeting focused on the health effects of electromagnetic fields (EMF) and their potential links to conditions like diabetes. Dr. Paul Heroux explained how EMF exposure, particularly affecting the hippocampus, could impact memory and intellectual performance, especially in school settings where children are exposed to Wi-Fi. Camilla highlighted the need for action against expanding EMF exposure, mentioning the 704 No More initiative and a new "Spring Clean Your Wireless" checklist to help reduce personal exposure. The discussion also touched on international differences in EMF safety standards, with Russia having significantly lower limits than the United States. Palisades Nuclear Plant Restart Plans Kevin Kamps discussed the ongoing efforts to restart the Palisades nuclear power plant, highlighting safety concerns and delays. He explained that Holtec International, the plant's current owner, has proposed restarting the 60-year-old reactor and building two new ones on the same site, despite multiple safety issues including problems with the reactor vessel closure head. Kevin also mentioned that Holtec has proposed rebuilding Indian Point Units 2 and 3, emphasizing the risks associated with these plans. Sunny emphasized the high costs and potential alternatives like wind power, which could provide more affordable and safer energy solutions. Nuclear Power and Wind Energy The meeting focused on nuclear power issues, particularly the potential closure of Palisades nuclear plant and offshore wind energy alternatives. Kevin discussed a study by former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm showing over 300,000 megawatts of wind power potential in the Great Lakes, which could provide cleaner energy at lower cost than reactor upgrades. Karl highlighted ongoing efforts to reactivate Indian Point nuclear plants in New York despite safety concerns, while Anna suggested organizing against nuclear power through peace marches and educational campaigns. The group also discussed the connection between nuclear facilities and data centers, with Vina raising concerns about the potential for nuclear plants to power data centers that could be targets in future conflicts.

Send us a textAfter graduating from RADA, James McArdle became a darling of the National Theatre appearing in landmark productions of Platonov, James I and Angels in America, all in a relatively short span of time. Since then, James McArdle has established himself as one of the most compelling actors on stage and screen. Now, he returns to the Olivier stage for the first time since 2019 for newly appointed Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham's inaugural show: a new adaptation of Euripides' Bacchae by Nima Taleghani. In the show, James takes on the role of Pentheus in a show which has been radically revamped for modern audiences. Taleghani's version includes rap verses and a thumping beat which helps build the tension of the piece that leads viscerally into the ultimate tragedy of the piece. In this brand new interview, James McArdle reflects on his numerous successes at the National Theatre and why it feels so fitting returning to the Olivier stage after a few years away. Indeed his last National Theatre project saw him taking on the title role in Peter Gynt, a thrilling update on Ibsen's original text where audiences saw James lead a 4 hour show with immense energy. Throughout our conversation, he also pays homage to Jonathan Kent who he describes as mentor who has helped shape him into the actor he is today. In our interview, we also touched on his critically acclaimed performances in Angels in America, Platonov and The Tragedy of Macbeth at the Almeida where he shares insights into his working relationship with Saoirse Ronan and also fight director Kate Waters who he reunited with on Bacchae. It's a fascinating conversation with one of the most exciting actors on stage and screen working today and it seems there's still more that we can look forward to.Bacchae runs in the Olivier Theatre, National Theatre until Saturday 1st November 2025.Support the show

Superman (2025): Ethics, Hope, and the Power of Choice • A Special Hiatus EpisodeMatthew and Riki welcome frequent guest Jessica Plummer to a discussion of James Gunn's take on Superman, exploring how this version challenges both the character and audiences to think differently about power, responsibility, and hope.Key Ethical Questions We ExploreShould Superman intervene in international conflicts? The hosts examine the film's most compelling scene: Lois Lane's hard-hitting interview with Superman about his decision to stop a military invasion. This sequence raises fundamental questions about sovereignty, journalism, and the responsibility that comes with ultimate power. The discussion reveals how the film sits in the tension between idealism and pragmatism, ultimately landing on Superman's simple but powerful argument: "People are dying."What makes this Superman different from previous versions? Unlike other portrayals that emphasize Superman's alien heritage as a source of wisdom, this film flips the script. Here, Krypton's message promotes authoritarian rule, making Superman's choice to embrace the values taught by Martha and Jonathan Kent entirely his own decision. This shift gives Clark Kent true agency as a hero, something the hosts argue has been missing from previous films. What role should journalism play in holding heroes accountable? Lois Lane's portrayal as an investigative journalist who challenges Superman creates a fascinating dynamic. The hosts discuss how her questions—while sometimes cynical—ultimately make Superman a better hero, and how their relationship models the importance of being challenged by those we love and respect. For fans of ethical philosophy, superhero narratives, or anyone interested in how entertainment shapes our moral imagination, this episode provides both entertainment and genuine food for thought about what it means to be good in a complicated world.Regular Episodes Return in September! **************************************************************************This episode is a production of Superhero Ethics, a The Ethical Panda Podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. I recently watched the new Superman movie, and one moment stood out to me — when Clark Kent questions his identity, and Jonathan Kent reminds him: “Your choices. Your actions. That's what makes you who you are.” It made me think of the ideas I'd just been reading in positive psychology: how our past doesn't define our happiness, but our present mindset and agency do. In this episode, we explore why even Superman isn't immune to self-doubt, and how reclaiming your choices opens the door to authentic flow.✅ Key Takeaways: ✔ Your choices, not your past, define who you are.✔ Even Superman wrestles with identity and agency.✔ Flow happens when you live from presence, not autopilot.✔ Cognitive reframing helps break old mental loops.✔ True strength is aligning action with meaning, here and now. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 The Penguin: 6:40 Supes & Lolo: 31:50 The Penguin (Max) Out of 5 Drowned Brothers in the Sewers Darryl: 4.55/5 Brian: 4.92/5 Episode 7: Top Hat Summary: Oswald Cobb finds himself at a critical juncture as tensions in Gotham intensify. Faced with a complex web of alliances and betrayals, Cobb must navigate a power struggle that threatens both his position and his safety. The episode delves into Cobb's resourcefulness and determination, showcasing how he maneuvers through challenges that reveal hidden agendas and unexpected alliances. As he dons the symbolic “top hat,” his transformation as a formidable player in Gotham's underworld takes a dramatic turn, setting the stage for a high-stakes confrontation that could reshape the city's future. Top Hat,is a deeply thematic exploration of power, identity, and the complexities of loyalty within Gotham's ruthless criminal underworld. Here's a spoiler-free thematic breakdown: 1. Power and Authority Top Hat heavily emphasizes the struggle for control, with Oswald Cobb caught between ambitious forces vying for dominance. The titular top hat symbolizes not only his evolving role in Gotham's criminal landscape but also the weight of responsibility and danger that accompanies newfound authority. Cobb is forced to reassess who he can trust, all while asserting his own influence in a way that distinguishes him from other crime figures. 2. Identity and Transformation This episode further examines Cobb's gradual transformation as he embraces the traits needed to survive and thrive in Gotham's underworld. The top hat represents a new identity, marking a step deeper into the city's dark side and an acceptance of the moral ambiguities his journey demands. The thematic journey reflects a shift from the man Oswald once was to the symbol of power he is becoming. 3. Loyalty and Betrayal Top Hat introduces complex layers of loyalty and betrayal as Cobb's alliances become increasingly fragile. Characters around him reveal hidden motivations, forcing him to question loyalties even among those closest to him. This theme adds suspense and tension, highlighting the precarious nature of trust in a world where self-interest often overrides allegiance. 4. Survival and Sacrifice In order to maintain his foothold, Cobb faces choices that require personal sacrifice and resourcefulness. The theme of survival is evident in how he adapts to new threats, using every asset he has—both physical and psychological—to stay one step ahead of his adversaries. 5. The Price of Ambition Ambition is a central theme, and Top Hat reflects on how the pursuit of power exacts a toll, not just on those striving for it, but on the entire city. As Cobb's influence grows, the ripple effect on Gotham becomes increasingly visible, illustrating how one man's rise can bring both fear and inspiration to a city steeped in corruption. In Top Hat, the themes blend to depict a Gotham where every decision, alliance, and ambition has a cost, and where the lines between friend and foe grow dangerously thin. The episode is a masterful blend of tension and character development, underscoring how each step in Cobb's journey is one of both opportunity and peril. Superman & Lois (The CW) Out of 5 Red Light Beatdowns Darryl: 4.25/5 Brian: 4.25/5 Episode 6: When the Lights Come On Summary: “When the Lights Come On,” is a pivotal installment in the series. The episode sees Lex Luthor dealing with the aftermath of his daughter's departure, which has left him reeling. In response, he further escalates his plan to torment Lois Lane. Jonathan's Burden Meanwhile, Jonathan Kent, Superman's son, has taken on a superhero workload that's become too intense for his own well-being. Clark and Lois intervene, urging him to slow down and prioritize his health. Jonathan admits to missing meals and neglecting his personal life in his zeal to help others. Key Developments Lex Luthor's Warsuit: The episode sets the stage for Lex's Warsuit, a crucial plot point in the season's narrative. Jonathan's superhero struggles: His overcommitment to saving the world takes a toll on his relationships and overall well-being. Clark and Lois's parental concerns: The couple tries to balance their desire to support Jonathan's heroic endeavors with their need to protect him from burnout. Welcome to the second episode of It All Comes Back to Superman Presents…Reuse, Recycle, Re-Release, a sub-series of It All Comes Back to Superman Series II where I will occasionally re-present an episode of one of my other shows (either the first iteration of It All Comes Back to Superman or one of the Superman centric episode of Views From The Longbox) and represent them here for…no real reason other than it sounded like a good idea to get all of my non-From Crisis to Crisis Superman podcasting in one place…eventually. These episodes are presented in their entirety with original opening and closing themes, ads, commentary that may not mean anything anymore, and humor that may not have aged well. This time out I am bringing Views From The Longbox Episode 156 out of the vault, which was originally released on March 19, 2013. This was the first of a two-part episode where I had my good friend and Overlooked Dark Knight co-host Andrew Leyland on to talk about the Silver and Bronze Age origins of Superman. In this installment, which was part of the Superman at 75: The Celebration of a Legend series I did in 2013, Andy and I talk about how Superman's origin evolved from his first appearance up to the 1970's. What was added to the origin? When did we, as the audience, first see the full out origin in the comics? How irresponsible is Jonathan Kent with firearms? Listen and find out. Feedback for It All Comes Back To Superman Series Presents…Reuse, Recycle, Re-Release can be sent to itallcomesbacktosuperman@gmail.com. You can subscribe to the show on Apple Podcasts/iTunes or stream it through Spotify and Audible. The Fortress of Baileytude Podcasting Network is on Patreon. It's mostly a tip jar as I have no time at the moment to produce exlcusive content, but if you like the content I do produce please consider contributing a dollar a month. The closing theme to the show is titled Journey and was composed by Pontus Rufelt. It is licensed from Shockwave-Sound. Next Episode – The second part of a two part episode where Andrew Leyland and I discuss Superman's Silver and Bronze Age origins that was part of Superman at 75: The Celebration of a Legend.

Lois Lane, the second cousin of Chloe Sullivan, arrives in Smallville trying to find the missing Clark Kent to help her to find Chloe's murderer. After being struck by a mysterious ray, she loses control of her car, and finds Clark naked with amnesia in a cornfield. She brings him to Smallville Medical Center, where Martha is with Jonathan Kent, who has been in an irreversible coma. Martha brings Clark back to the farm, expecting him to retrieve his memory. However, Clark is completely dehumanized, having been taken over by his alter-ego Kal-El, whose mission is to find three Kryptonian crystals to assemble into one. Meanwhile in Paris, Lana Lang has an American boyfriend, a young man named Jason Teague, and is having a good time with him, until things take a turn when she gets hit with a mysterious spiritual force containing the spirit of a long-dead witch. Elsewhere, Lex is struggling to recover from being poisoned as he travels to bring an ancient object retrieved from an excavation in Egypt which Clark/Kal-El is also after and uses his flying abilities to steal the crystal... in midair. Also, Lois visits the imprisoned Lionel to talk with him about Chloe, while Martha has a meeting with an associate of Virgil Swan's, named Bridget Crosby, who gives her a new type of kryptonite to combat Clark/Kal-El.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil  Coming Up:   https://mostlysuperheroes.com/schedule   ‘Madame Web'   'Blade Trinity'  4 Hands Voltron Volume 4  Apotheosis Comics  Edera  The Royale Food and Spirits    Sources:  Songs/Artist Features - Hear the Songs on Spotify:  “Save Me” Remy Zero (not Sam Raimi)  "Better Days Will Come" - Tahiti 80  "O Euchari" - Hildegard Of Bingen  "Plus Pres De Moi" - Sandrine  67 - Crusade - Talk Ville: The Ultimate Smallville rewatch. Kevin covers the WGA Strike The Class of 09, The Deep House, and the 3rd season of Superman & Lois. Season 3 of Superman and Lois is more of the same, quality-wise, but that isn't a bad thing! There's some new drama for the Kent family as Lois is stricken with cancer and there's a newly recasted Jonathan Kent, but the show is still as solid as ever. The Deep House is a horror flick now playing on Amazon Prime that has a new spin on the haunted house genre. As the title suggests, this house is deep... underwater! So this is a lot of POV horror and a very claustrophobic feel. The Class of 09 is a new series over on FX/Hulu that follows the aforementioned class of FBI recruits through 3 different stages - their rookie year of 09, our present year of 2023, and the future in 2034, where AI is taking over the bulk of the police work. Kevin finishes off the episode talking about the current WGA writers strike. He starts off talking about how the 2007 strike effected the industry at that time and then dives into what to expect going forward as well as how we are already being impacted just a few weeks in! Drag queen delivers sermon in church, Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones ordered to pay $1 billion, America rejects the sodomite Superman

It's Friday, October 14th, A.D. 2022. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. By Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Nigerian Muslims killed 3 Christians On Tuesday, October 4, Muslim militants murdered three Christians in an attack in northeastern Nigeria, reports International Christian Concern. The Christians lived in Njilang village, located in Chibok County. During the attack, the Muslims burned multiple houses and businesses to the ground and wounded dozens more residents.  Nigeria led the world in Christians killed for their faith last year. Between October 1, 2020 and Sept. 30, 2021, 4,650 Nigerian Christians were martyred for their faith, up from 3,530 the previous year. That's according to Open Doors' 2022 World Watch List report. Revelation 6:9 says, “When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the Word of God and the testimony they had maintained.” Supreme Court denies Donald Trump On Thursday, the Supreme Court rejected former President Donald Trump's plea to step into the legal fight over the FBI search of his Florida estate, reports the Associated Press. The justices did not otherwise comment in turning away Trump's emergency appeal. The Trump team was asking the justices to overturn a lower court ruling and permit an independent arbiter to review the roughly 100 documents with classified markings that were taken in the August 8 search of Mar-a-Lago. Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones ordered to pay $1 billion Jurors ordered conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Wednesday to pay nearly $1 billion to Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims' relatives and an FBI agent, who said he turned their loss and trauma into years of torment by promoting the lie that the rampage was a hoax, reports the Associated Press. The $965 million verdict is the second big judgment against the Infowars host for spreading the myth that the deadliest school shooting at the hands of Adam Lanza, in which 20 first graders and six adults were killed in the 2012 Connecticut massacre, never happened. Jones claimed that the grieving families seen in news coverage were actors hired as part of a plot to take away people's guns. America rejects the sodomite Superman DC Comics has announced it will axe a recent comic book series that was centered on a sodomite Superman. In the months after Jonathan Kent, son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, made his debut in July 2021, the 17-year-old character embraced various social issues, including school shootings, fighting global warming deniers and the deportation of illegal immigrants. Then, in the series' fifth issue, Jon Kent began a homosexual relationship with a male friend and refugee 'hacktivist' Jay Nakamura. But, just like the box office flop entitled Bros, which was America's first romantic comedy featuring a homosexual storyline, the comic book sales were disastrous. The Washington Examiner's headline was instructive. “Go woke, go broke: DC's gay Superman canceled after 18 issues and poor sales.” Their first line was punchy. “People aren't buying Superman's new sexuality— literally.” The Worldview wonders whether the creators of the sodomite Superman will blame America's so-called “homophobia” instead of recognizing the vestige of our Christian heritage. Superman's image has been seemingly eviscerated. This foolish exploration of sexual perversion comes on top of last fall's woke decision to change Superman's slogan from "truth, justice, and the American way" to "truth, justice, and a better tomorrow." Drag queen talks with kids and delivers sermon in church And finally, you can't make this stuff up.  It was bad enough that the God-haters, who wanted to twist His design for our sex and our sexuality, invited drag queens into libraries to read to impressionable children. Now, a reprobate pastor, Andy Oliver, at Allendale Methodist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida, invited Isaac Simmons, who performs in drag as “Ms. Penny Cost,” to interact with the children (at the 25:50 mark of the video) and deliver the sermon (at the 43:58-mark) on October 2. His reason? Because he wants “all people to see people like themselves called by God to preach the Gospel,” reports The Christian Post. Clearly, the moniker, “Ms. Penny Cost,” is a disturbing and disrespectful reference to the day of Pentecost when Jesus Christ sent the Holy Spirit after the ascension, While Pastor Oliver introduced the drag queen to two children sitting on the altar steps, he said this. OLIVER: “'Ms. Penny Cost,' are you always dressed up like this? Do you always dress up?” SIMMONS: “I wish! No, I only get dressed up on special occasions. Um. I kind of feel powerful when I put on a dress like this and a big wig and lots of makeup. Um. Kind of helps me to say things that I don't have the confidence to say outside of it.” When Pastor Oliver asked about the drag queen's faith, Simmons, who had not grown up in a Christian home, made this remark. SIMMONS: “When I got to college, I started asking deeper questions, um, and I found a boy that I loved (laughs) and he invited me to church, and so I went to hang out with him.” As he twisted the words of Apostle Paul in Romans 12:2, Pastor Oliver gave his full endorsement of the drag queen's ministry, as Simmons is a first-year seminary student who will one day preach weekly in a Methodist pulpit. OLIVER: “Well, one of the things I think is great about ‘Ms. Penny Cost' is she reminds us that we follow a God who calls us to not conform to things of this world, that we're supposed to be transformed by the renewal of our minds. And that means that what I think today may have to change tomorrow pf I continue to renew my mind. It's so cool that we serve a God that calls us to continue to grow and continue to change into something new, and to not be bound by the ways that the world confines us sometimes, that we're supposed to live differently.” In a Facebook post, Pastor Oliver wrote that Simmons was “an incredible preacher, grounded as Allendale is, in Wesleyan and liberation theology.” But Mark Tooley, the president of the Institute on Religion and Democracy, believes drag queens, like Simmons, are becoming the “new public face of United Methodism.” Tooley said, “To my knowledge, no United Methodist official, including Simmons' bishop, has publicly expressed concern about this United Methodist drag queen." No wonder the Methodist church is imploding! Deuteronomy 22:5 declares, “A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Friday, October 14th, in the year of our Lord 2022. In the new Warner Bros. DC Universe animated film “'Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons,” Superman and Lois Lane have a son named Jonathan Kent. In the CW TV show “Superman and Lois,” Clark and Lois have twin sons, a twist after the CW's “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” In the comics, Jonathan Kent is grown up and came out last year as gay. Is Jonathan Kent (the son) part of the new mainstream iconography of the legendary Superman story? Do all mediums going forward need to incorporate Jonathan as much as Clark? Jeremy Adams wrote “Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons” and joined this discussion. Adams was profiled on the show (Episode 223). He is currently a writer on the Flash comic book for DC Comics, and also wrote the 2022 animated film “Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind.” Both Snow Blind and Super Sons will be premiering at New York Comic Con in New York City.
