How do I get started? What if I fail? Who will hire me? Is it really possible to create a consistent, full-time income from home? Welcome to the Live Free Podcast with Micala Quinn where we will be answering these questions PLUS many more! Whether you’re just starting your freelance business (heck even if you don’t know what freelancing is yet) or you’re looking to scale, this podcast will give you tangible business advice along with inspiring interviews to help you create a life and career that works for YOU and YOUR family. Your host, Micala Quinn, started out teaching high-school English, but when her first child was born, she immediately began searching for something more. Micala started freelancing, quickly replaced her full-time income, and now helps other moms (like you) get started and grow their freelance business from scratch to 5K and beyond! She believes that being a working mom or a stay-at-home mom no longer needs to be a black and white decision. You CAN have both. On your terms! Our motto is Mom Strong, Work Smart, and Live Free. Are you in? We’d love for you to join us each Monday, as well as in our Live Free Podcast Facebook community micalaquinn.com/facebook. To check out our show notes go to micalaquinn.com/blog.

Happy Monday! It's good to be back with a brand-new episode! In today's episode, I chat with Amanda Beasley about her transition from corporate to freelancing. Amanda is an LFA alum with 16 years of experience in the corporate world. In September 2022, Amanda was unexpectedly laid off. Her family depended on her income so fear definitely started creeping in. A friend introduced Amanda to freelancing and the Live Free Academy. Before diving in, Amanda took some time for reflection. She outlined her non-negotiables – the need to work from home and the desire for flexibility. Amanda is also a bit of a unicorn in that she's inherently organized and operationally focused yet also loves opportunities to be creative so she'd love a role that combines the two. Freelancing checked every box! Hey there! Happy Monday! On today's episode, I'm answering a question I get asked from time to time: Is freelancing sustainable as a long-term career? Maybe you're interested in the flexibility and freedom that comes along with freelancing, but you're concerned about the stability and longevity of it. You're wondering if freelancing is just a fad or a trend. Let's dive in and chat about that! First, yes, you can sustain a freelance career for the long haul. You can sustain it, maintain it, and even grow it past your financial goals. There are so many businesses that need the support of freelancers. Just as an example, think of your nearest shopping center. There are probably a handful of businesses in it. Chances are those businesses all need the same basic things. They need marketing help, bookkeeping help, admin help, copywriting help, web help, tech support, and on and on. There are so many things that those businesses need help with that they either don't know how to do, don't have the desire to learn it, or don't have the time to do it. So instead of just staying stagnant, tons and tons of those businesses are hiring freelancers to help them. I used a local brick-and-mortar shopping center in that example, but that's just one example. There are small businesses, corporate businesses, and online businesses all needing support.Check out the show notes for more information including links and resources mentioned in today's episode!SHOW NOTES: www.micalaquinn.com/episode275Thanks for listening! Recently, I had someone reach out to me and ask if they could replace a six-figure salary as a freelancer. My short answer is yes. No matter what your income goal is, it is absolutely possible to reach it with freelancing. This is a question I've actually been seeing more and more lately from moms tired of their high-paying 9-5. I've had quite a few moms tell me that they loved their corporate job, and they worked hard to get there, but sometimes, it just isn't worth the cost. If you want freedom and flexibility but still need your income, freelancing can allow you to match your income while working LESS hours! Thanks for listening!
