A podcast to help you get off the endless treadmill of spiritual exhaustion, and find joy in surrender with Jesus. Tired of the pace and posture of your faith amidst a hurried, manic, control-obsessed world? Me too, friend. Let's talk.
"If you think the Bible is boring, it's because you're boring." This is a spicy quote from our guest today, Landon MacDonald. In today's convo, we break down why most people don't study the Bible well—why the Bible is THE greatest work of art of all time—and how to approach the Bible with a healthy posture. Let's get to it!
Social media (and all technology for that matter) will either ADD to your life or ERODE your life. As I step into the most important ministry opportunity of life, I'm making changes to how I approach the podcast and how frequently I upload new content. In this short episode, I outline what that new opportunity is, and thank all of you who have helped make this podcast what it's become today!
Most people spend all their time "finding themselves," when they're actually just settling for an "invented self..."—a version that keeps you safe in childhood, but can't ever lead to flourishing. We dive into that, and more, in PART 2 of this interview with the magnificent Chris Mosher!
In Part 1 of this interview with the co-founder of Liminal, Chris Mosher, we discuss the need for men to embrace their full selves and how to know if you need to get still or get going. Learn more at liminalwork.com.
If you're living at warp speed, you will inevitably warp your soul. In this episode, I break down the importance of "noticing" what is going on within us, and create space for you to step into the invitation of the Holy Spirit—to notice what burdens you, what tires you, and where you need to find a real rest with Jesus.
We reached 50 episodes, so I did something a bit different—a live Q&A discussion via Instagram, where I handled YOUR questions and tried to help us all lean into Jesus. In this conversation, I cover healing from betrayal, tracking your own spiritual growth, the Christian's response to the Roe Vs Wade leak, and how to confront doubt in your friends without being a jerk.
This episode is for anyone who feels like they aren't "spiritual" because they can't seem to sit still. In this conversation, I break down the problems of modern-day gnosticism and why leveraging our physical bodies can help us breakthrough those moments where we feel spiritually stuck.
In this episode, I reverse engineer which spiritual discipline you should pursue, based on which hardship you're experiencing in life right now. Are you bored, lonely, anxious, angry, stressed, sad, or tired? Each one points to a specific practice that can help you grow with Jesus.
The 7 core emotional states we need to explore, in order to reverse engineer which spiritual disciplines we ought to lean into most? BOREDOM → MEDITATION - practice doing nothing, practice the spiritual act of boredom—dealing with the emotions that arise in this team. LONELINESS → SOLITUDE - practice being alone WITH God. It's not just being alone, it's being alone WITH God, and inviting him in. Psalm 139 is a good starting point. ANGER → JOURNALING - Go through the lament of your anger and frustration. God is not just an angry God, He is also a God who has dealt with His anger. ANXIETY → SABBATH. Anxiety is fear without a direct stimulus. Low level, ever-present fear and nervousness. Burnout is God's way of forcing you into a Sabbath rest. STRESS → FASTING. Stress is fear with a stimulus Fast from food or something else in your life. CENTER your scattered senses back into a normal state. SADNESS → steady, high grade sadness with a stimulus → feasting and community. Thanksgiving. Rejoice. Connect with other people. TIRED → SINGING. Worship helps resolve consistent exhaustion. This goes beyond what rest can solve. You've rested at the end of the day and you have nothing left. Enter into times of praise. Communal songs.
Nobody wants to learn from Judas. And yet, when we study his role in the Easter story, we're confronted with brutal truths that help us lean even more into God's love.
It is in the times we feel "too busy" to pray, that we actually need the presence of God the most. And if we adopt this practice, we will find that, solitude is something we can take WITH us into the next moments of our day.
How do you pray with your kids and not make it weird? What if I'm no good at prayer? We answer these questions and more with my special guest, Kyle Warfield.
"I don't journal" is a phrase I hear a lot! But what if journaling was more than "dear diary" submissions and aimless scribbling? In this episode, I dive into the posture, the practice, and the power of journaling and how it can unlock a new depth in your time with Jesus.
"Faith Over Fear," right? But what if fear is an instinctive part of our faith journey? In this guided time of prayer, I help you explore what you're scared of, what you're afraid of losing, and I invite you to wrestle through that with God.
How do we engage in the digital world without letting it ruin our emotional and spiritual health? Let's discover if our digital lives are by design or default...

This episode is a time of guided prayer, where I create space for you to explore sadness and grief in your life. We too often put those "negative" emotions on the shelf, when in fact, it's by bringing those emotions to God that He helps us become healthy and holy. Buckle up, let's get to it!

I sit down with pastor and author, Josh Butler, to discuss his passion for "paradigm shifting" and helping people be honest with God and themselves. Specifically, we dive into the growing trend for Christians to "deconstruct" their faith, and the cultural tensions at play as we navigate living faithfully in difficult times.
Too often, we confine or curate our emotions to what we THINK God wants instead of bringing our full selves to Him. In this time of guided prayer, I try to create space for you to bring your anger to God and explore what the Holy Spirit wants to do in and through that emotion. Let's dive in!
The struggle is real! If you're trying to grow in your spiritual disciplines WITH small children in the house, let's be honest, it's madness! In this episode, I give some thoughts on how to keep growing amidst the craziness of parenting.
This week, I thank you for the year that was, and challenge you to spend time doing an "End of Year Reflection" with God. Simply take a time of solitude to reflect on 1) What did I learn about God this year? 2) What did I learn about myself? 3) What should I start, stop, and keep as I head in to 2022?

In this episode, I break down a national Gallup study and Harvard professor's research to prove that handling stress in your soul is even more important than controlling the external stressors of life.
Did you know that God delights in all the small, seemingly insignificant details of your life? What if I told you that all the small stuff you keep from God in prayer, is actually the stuff that unlocks truly feeling seen and heard by your Heavenly Father?
How we handle distractions can "make or break" our inward life of faith. In this episode, I unpack one of the single most helpful ways I've navigated distractions, and stopped beating myself up about them!
