What does it take to build a thriving, faith-filled parish? In this episode, I sit down with Father Jamie Zarse, pastor at Sacred Heart Parish in Shawnee, Kansas, to unpack his vision for renewing his parish—starting with a team of prayer warriors and leaders—and the spiritual habits that are transforming his community. From deeper devotion to the Eucharist and the Rosary to more frequent confession and scripture-based prayer, these simple yet powerful practices are sparking real change. Mass attendance is up by 18%, generosity is growing with an additional $408,000 in tithing, and parishioners are coming alive in their faith. Father Jamie also reveals why measuring spiritual progress and forming strong leadership teams are key to sustaining this momentum. He shares how his leadership team, a mix of staff and dedicated volunteers, meets weekly to ensure they are always working on the most important things. They even use innovative tools like QR code surveys during Mass to track engagement in key spiritual habits. Whether you're a parish leader or just passionate about seeing your faith community flourish, this episode is packed with wisdom you won't want to miss. Discover how Father Jamie's approach has led to a significant increase in OCIA participants and the success of marriage enrichment programs that have saved marriages and strengthened families. Do you want to lead your home well spiritually but are not sure how? Do you need more creative and fun ideas on how to point your kids to Jesus? Today, Chris Pappalardo and Clayton Greene join me to talk about spiritual rhythms with our kids. They share plenty of ideas on creating a space for spiritual growth that doesn't need to be a checklist-driven, box-checking exercise. Their new book discusses establishing morning and evening rhythms that align with how God wired us to connect spiritually and practically with Him. We talk about modeling the gospel in a way that is authentic and free from unnecessary baggage for our kids to carry into the future. I get personal by sharing how my dad modeled this in my life—and that's really what these habits create: our kids modeling the habits and behaviors we practice that point to Jesus. In this episode, Pastor Nic is joined by his brother, Stanford, and his daughter, Rachel, as they discuss developing their own Rule of Life based on the sermon series we went through in the fall of 2024. The core idea of this episode is how to establish sustainable spiritual practices while accounting for different life stages and circumstances. They emphasize thatwhile morning routines and consistent Bible study are ideal, these practices must be adaptable to different situations, whether it's college life, young parenthood, or professional work. A key insight is that spiritual disciplines aren't meant to be rigid checklist items but rather tools for growth that can be adjusted as needed. The conversation particularly highlights the challenges faced by college students and young parents in maintaining spiritual disciplines, and emphasizes the importance of being able to restart habits without unproductive shame when they lapse. They also explore how responsibilities to others impact our spiritual routines, suggesting that while structure is important, it should be flexible enough to accommodate the needs of those we're called to serve. Have you ever felt burdened, broken, or burned out? If so, you’re not alone. This week on The Love Offering podcast, I had the joy of sitting down with bestselling author Asheritah Ciuciu to discuss her new book, Delighting in Jesus: Rhythms to Restore Joy When You Feel Burdened, Broken, or Burned Out. In our conversation, Asheritah shares how life’s challenges—family dynamics, overcommitment, and external pressures—can rob us of the joy God desires for us. But the good news is that joy is not only possible but restorable. Here are some of the takeaways from our time together: Joy is cultivated by spending time with Jesus, who is the ultimate source of delight. Burnout often stems from overcommitment and misplaced priorities, but God offers rhythms of restoration. Neuroplasticity shows us that we can retrain our minds to seek and experience joy through intentional spiritual habits. Asheritah outlines five powerful rhythms for joy: worship, word, whisper, wonder, and walking. This conversation was a gentle reminder that we don’t have to navigate burnout and exhaustion alone. By turning to Jesus and adopting these life-giving rhythms, we can rediscover joy, even in the most difficult seasons. I pray Asheritah’s insights inspire you as much as they did me. Let’s commit to finding joy in Jesus together and allowing His presence to transform our daily lives. With love and gratitude,Rachael P.S. In this deeply introspective episode of "Father and Joe," hosts Father Boniface and Joe Rockey delve into the intricate journey of cultivating an autopilot faith in God. Joe opens up about his personal struggles with trust and the desire to seamlessly integrate his faith into everyday life, much like the unconscious act of breathing. This episode explores the challenge of transitioning from a conscious effort to a natural, instinctive trust in God.Father Boniface provides spiritual guidance, drawing parallels between the autonomic nervous system and our spiritual lives. He explains how intentional practices, like controlled breathing, can help manage anxiety and foster a deeper connection with God. The conversation highlights the importance of recognizing and addressing the underlying causes of anxiety, rather than merely treating the symptoms. The hosts discuss the significance of forming habits of holiness through intentional practice and reflection. They emphasize the value of daily spiritual exercises, akin to the practice routines of athletes, in achieving spiritual growth and transformation. By examining the lives of saints, they illustrate how small, consistent efforts can lead to extraordinary spiritual achievements.Joe and Father Boniface also touch on the importance of self-awareness and the role of relationships in spiritual development. They encourage listeners to engage in honest self-reflection and to seek guidance from both human and divine relationships. Through prayer and intentional practice, individuals can gradually align their actions with their faith, making holiness a natural part of their daily lives. This episode serves as a reminder that the journey to spiritual maturity is a continuous process, requiring patience, perseverance, and a willingness to embrace the practice of holiness. By focusing on the day-to-day efforts and trusting in God's presence, listeners are encouraged to cultivate a deeper, more authentic relationship with God.Tags: Faith, Trust in God, Spiritual Growth, Autopilot Faith, Anxiety, Spiritual Practice, Holiness, Saints, Self-awareness, Relationships, Prayer, Spiritual Maturity, Intentional Practice, Daily Life, Spiritual Direction, Father Boniface, Joe Rockey, Podcast, Spiritual Journey, Personal Growth, Autonomic Nervous System, Anxiety Management, Spiritual Exercises, Habit Formation, Virtues, Holiness Practice, Spiritual Reflection, Divine Relationship, Human Relationship, Spiritual Transformation, Spiritual Guidance, Spiritual Awareness, Spiritual Habits, Spiritual Development, Spiritual Connection, Spiritual Presence, Spiritual Patience, Spiritual Perseverance, Spiritual AuthenticityHashtags: #Faith #TrustInGod #SpiritualGrowth #AutopilotFaith #Anxiety #SpiritualPractice #Holiness #Saints #SelfAwareness #Relationships #Prayer #SpiritualMaturity #IntentionalPractice #DailyLife #SpiritualDirection #FatherBoniface #JoeRockey #Podcast #SpiritualJourney #PersonalGrowth #AutonomicNervousSystem #AnxietyManagement #SpiritualExercises #HabitFormation #Virtues #HolinessPractice #SpiritualReflection #DivineRelationship #HumanRelationship #SpiritualTransformation #SpiritualGuidance #SpiritualAwareness #SpiritualHabits #SpiritualDevelopment #SpiritualConnection #SpiritualPresence #SpiritualPatience #SpiritualPerseverance #SpiritualAuthenticity

Duane Sheriff teaches the transformative power of grace and emphasizes the significance of developing spiritual habits that will lead to victory and peace. True humility involves denying oneself, prioritizing others, aligning with God's will, and cultivating a deep and more intimate relationship with Jesus, transforming knowledge of God into a direct experiential understanding that fosters spiritual growth, peace, and a more grace-filled life.
The Bible reminds us over and over what a gift from God children are. As parents, it's easy to get overwhelmed with all the different worries when it comes to raising a child: Are they healthy? Are they happy? Are they kind to other people? One essential element of parenting that sets a great foundation for a child's well-being is modeling a spiritually healthy life for our kids, so that they know there's a God who cares for them, and listens when they pray. This week, we get to hear from three experts on how we can mentally and spiritually nurture the young minds of tomorrow. Dr. Daniel Amen is the founder of Amen Clinics, and a leading expert in brain health and mental health. Charles Fay, PhD, is an nationally recognized author and president of the Love and Logic Institute, which joined Amen Clinics in 2020, offering practical solutions for educators, mental health professionals, and parents dealing with challenging behaviors in youth. Melina Luna Smith is the Executive Director of Storymakers NYC, who works with parents to reach their children through storytelling, and gives tips on how to incorporate story into the everyday life as a family, as a way to connect and teach faith values as well. Is it when things have gone really well and we've made really good decisions, or is it maybe when we've exercised some free will and we haven't made such a good decision, and then we look up and we say, ‘Oh, please, Lord, I know that I can trust you'? That's a faith exercise. We all need those.'” Dr. Charles Fay, Ph.D. “If you want to give your child the greatest gift, which is the gift of faith, you need to work on your relationship with God, of course, but also with your kids.” - Dr. Daniel Amen, MD “When [children] connect with us, they put our values inside of their heart, and those values travel around with them.” - Dr. Charles Fay, Ph.D. “We want kids to be engaged with [Bible stories], and we really want them to walk away with information and an experience that is meaningful and that is going to shape and form them, so that they know that God is with them, for them, now and always.” - Melina Luna Smith “God is the ultimate story maker, and we are story makers too.” - Melina Luna Smith “Just as Jesus would always bring the parables to the listeners, He was drawing a story. He was drawing a picture of what was heavenly truth for us to hear.” - Melina Luna Smith ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel!
