How much money are you spending on your business each month for your contact management software, calendar, email, landing pages, checkout payment pages, and quizzes? If you're a coach or consultant who's spending more than $100 total for all these items, you're spending too much. In today's episode, I share the 7 ways to automate your business and maximize profits so you can reduce your overhead and get your sanity back. If you are looking for ways to reduce business expenses, this episode is for you. There are two types of business people. The ones who love tech, … that would be me. And, those who don't. The deal is, to compete in today's congested marketplace, you need to utilize funnels and automation in order to keep your expenses to a minimum and free up time so you can add more clients to your bottom line. These are the 7 places you need to streamline so you can make more money: 1. Contact Relationship Management (CRM) - where do you keep your precious list of prospects and clients? Centralize all your leads, prospects and clients in one place. Categorize them based on where they are in the buying journey with you. Keep notes from conversations, records of what they purchased and emails you have sent them. 2. Calendar Booking System - No more going back and forth with clients via email to set up an appointment time. You need a calendar booking system that is on autopilot. Create different calendar-booking options depending on the purpose and length of the meeting. Automatically send the recipient reminders via email and/or text messaging so they show up and have the Zoom link without searching everywhere and being late. 3. Email Nurture Sequence - Start by having a welcome email sequence (3-5 emails) that goes out to prospects when they opt-in to your freebie or join your group. Your welcome sequence is a way to build up the all-important know, like and trust. Send a weekly or bi-weekly email to keep your audience warm. Tag clients depending on which opt-ins or free classes they have signed up for so you know their areas of interest. 4. SMS Text Messaging - No one checks their email box as often as they should these days. Same with social media messages. SMS text messaging is the key to keeping in touch with your prospect. It increases the likelihood they show up for discovery calls, workshops, etc. 5. Landing Opt-In Pages - Lead Magnet (free gift) opt-in (landing) page are where you get contact information. These must be a little bit of a sales page to encourage people to hand over their name, email, and phone. They have to ‘play well' with your CRM and email programs. 6. Sales Pages & Payments- Branded Payment integration with Sales Pages that convert at least 30% (ideally 50% of the time). Wordpress sales pages don't convert as well as sales funnels. Do you have an order bump on your sales page? Sales pages elevate your brand - no plain vanilla invoices with an easy to create sales funnel. 7. Questionnaire/Survey - Send before you confirm a discovery call as a way to qualify prospects. A carefully planned questionnaire makes sure you are speaking only to qualified prospects and not wasting time on leads that aren't a fit. Now, it's time to get out a pencil and paper. Make two columns. In the first column, list the platform you are using for each of these seven areas. The second column is the monthly cost for that platform. What is your contact management software? How much does it cost monthly? Where is your calendar booking system? How do you pay monthly? Where is your email nurture sequence? What platform are you using and how much does it cost monthly? Keep going down the list and write down every software platform and the expense. If you're not sure, now is a good time to get out your monthly credit card bill and take a look at all the places you're spending money. I guarantee you will have forgotten about some of them. Now, add everything up. What is the total amount you are spending each month on each of these software platforms? If the total for all these items together is more than $100 per month, you are paying too much. There is a more cost-effective way. In fact, I can show you how to spend less than $100 on all these platforms, and systemize it into one, streamlined program. In today's episode, I'm going to talk about 3 areas that are likely making you stuck and share a strategy to get moving. Before I ventured into entrepreneurship, a girlfriend and I went to lunch and started talking about starting a business of our own someday. I knew this was the time for me because our youngest kids were didn't need as much of my time, and I had the bandwidth in my schedule to do it. Even though I knew, every cell in my body knew, it was time. I couldn't get going. I was stuck. Mind you, I have always had a sense of urgency to take action and get things done. But when it came to being an entrepreneur, I paused. And, when it came to creating these podcast episodes, I paused. It was analysis paralysis in my head. I keep searching for answers I already had,... I keep distracting myself with busy work and I was spinning in circles. If this sounds like you, know that you know more than 99% of the people. The fact that you are thinking about this topic, means you're passionate and driven. You want more in life and from life that you are currently getting. Whether you grew up poor or privileged doesn't matter. Whether you have a formal education or dropped out of high school doesn't matter. What matters is you have the passion and determination,... the grit, to dig in and learn what you need to take who you are an expert at and package it so people are delighted to buy from you. If you're getting ready to start your business, or have already begun your entrepreneurial journey, You are in for an exciting ride. At times frustrating, sometimes stressful, but most of the time, exhilarating and fun. Entrepreneurial endeavors of any kind are not for the faint of heart, but there is nothing like this path to learn at mach speed, be challenged, and transformed. Different people have different superpowers, and when you step into your superpower, you will begin to see positive progress in your career or business. Successful entrepreneurs have a bias toward ACTION. Are you taking action or sitting in neutral? Sometimes you can feel overwhelmed, not sure where to start, so you get stuck. Successful entrepreneurs see the world clearly and choose not to be confused. If you're confused and stuck ask yourself why. It's typically one of these reasons: You're worrying whether people will still like you if you take action towards your goal. You're worrying about what people will think if you take action toward your goal. Fear… fear of failure or fiances, fear you don't have the experience or expertise to have a successful business of your own. I promised you I would share a strategy to help you get quickly moving toward your goals. Here it is. This exercise is really effective. Ask yourself, if I were someone else, looking at my life from outside, what would be the obvious right action to take? Really take a moment to think about that. This is a disassociated place. It's neutral. If it helps, actually stand up and take a step to the side to really visualize yourself standing to the side as an observer. There is a lot of great information that can be gained from this spot. That's because when you are “in it” as yourself, all the emotions are washing over you. When you are standing as an observer, the answers are crystal clear. The key step is to ask yourself,... what is the clear action step that needs to be taken right now? Be open to all the possibilities that exist as you stand in “observer”. Take a moment to allow those answers to come to you. Allow your intuition to come through. A successful entrepreneur does not get stuck, because they are not confused. They know the right decision they need to make and they take action. What is the action you need to take today to move you toward your goals? Now, I want you to come back to the position of seeing things through your eyes. Not the “observer”. Think about what the observer saw. Taking action starts with you. Most likely, the action you need to take feels scary. That's often the case. Quick story,... My grandmother was a successful entrepreneur with a large business in her hometown. Before she died, I had the opportunity to ask, “if you could change anything about your life, what would it be?” You know what she said? Take more risks. Take more risks in life. Taking risks is scary. What you need to do to get unstuck feels risky. It's ok. There is so much opportunity from the disruption of this past year for people who are ready to grab it. I love the famous quote by John Shedd, and that's, “A ship in habor is safe – but that's not what ships are built for.” Your time is now. Empower yourself. Make a choice. Embrace it. Listen to that voice in your head and ignore all the seeds of doubt. Feel the power of what you can accomplish. If there ever was a time to truly step into who you want to be or do or have, … IT IS NOW. Choose to step into your dreams. Every day for the next week, I want you to try this. Let yourself feel the fear that's holding you back, but push it aside. Ask yourself,... what are three steps you can do today that will move you towards your goals? Focus on those things. Do them. Check them off your list today. Tomorrow when you get up, write down three more steps you can take to move you toward your goals. Then, do them. Today. No matter what, you get those done. Wake up the next day, rinse and repeat as they say. Take continuous baby steps toward your goal and push through the fear and doubt. Diligently and meticulously moving toward your dream (I promise you) will advance your confidence and make space for your magical future.
