On Friday's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by his weekly Friday guests, Jim Moore, handicapper TroyWins.com and Chris Egan, KING 5. Puck and Jim open up the show talking about the differences between Thanksgiving and Christmas and Puck put Thanksgiving as a -5.5 point favorite over Christmas. So, they debate the line and Puck gives his reasons why he prefers Thanksgiving and Jim says he'd take Christmas at +5.5. They jump into the discussion about the Mariners and the future of ROOT Sports and react to the Seattle Times article by Adam Jude and Ryan Divish that the team will once again operate on the network next season. However, there is not much clarity from the team and what exactly it will look like, which leaves many who work for the network in the dark. Jim and Puck discuss how unfair it is for the M's still keep their employees in the lurch of what their plans are. They wonder why the Mariners don't just steal a play out of the Kraken playbook and go on local television and then offer a streaming service. The Seattle Times also had a story about the wild success that the Kraken are having with their Kraken Hockey Network and so far early in the season it has been a runaway success compared to being on ROOT Sports the last few years. They also turn their attention to what the Mariners will do in free agency and the likelihood that they will sign Justin Turner and or Carlos Santana. Puck doesn't think a serious organization brings back a 40 and 39 year old, however, Jim disagrees and likes what Turner brings. PuckSports handicapper TroyWins.comjoins Puck and Jim to go over all the football bets for the weekend and at the end they give our their “Dogs of the Week.” Chris Egan, KING 5, joins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly chat. They navigate Thanksgiving food traditions, high school football playoffs, Thanksgiving vs. Christmas and they discuss the funeral of former sportscaster Tony Ventrella. The high school football quarterfinals are this week and Egan is covering his final Friday “Big Game of the Week.” Egan shares his thoughts on who he thinks will win in the 4A and 3A levels. Finally, Egan goes over the menu for his Thanksgiving feast. Lastly, “Hey, What the Puck!” Puck thanks everyone for watching and listening this week despite the storm and wicked everyone a speedy recovery from all the damage that the storm caused in the area. On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by his weekly guests, Mike Garafolo, NFL Network and new weekly guest, Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic. Puck starts off the show promoting his Mariners Offseason DiamondTable Show that features his regular baseball guests: Ryan Divish and Adam Jude, Seattle Times. Jim Duquetee, MLB Network Radio. Visit PuckSports.com for information and how to sign up. You can also visit Patreon.com/PuckSports. Puck turns his attention to the Seahawks before Garafolo comes on and touches in on how the expectations have now changed since the Seahawks defeated the 49ers. Mike Garafolo, NFL Network, joins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly chat about all the news and notes around the NFL. Puck and Mike get temporarily distracted because they start talking about golf and who they would like to play if they could choose anyone in the golf world! Once they stop talking about golf, they get into the Seahawks win over the 49ers and how important that was for Seattle and how crushing it was for San Francisco. Amazingly the Seahawks will be playing for first place in the NFC West on Sunday. They react to Geno Smith's appearance on the Richard Sherman Podcast. How much do the Seahawks need Smith and how much does Geno need the Seahawks?Where will Aaron Rogers end up next season? Any chance he could land in San Francisco? Will there be a number of suitors for him?Are Deion Sanders and his son a package deal to the NFL? If they are, where? Was the Bills win over the Chiefs important? Did the Steelers once again offer the blueprint how to beat Lamar Jackson and the Ravens? The “Dugar Report” with Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic as he joins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his brand new weekly appearance taking the latest with the Seattle Seahawks. Mike and Puck get right into the win over the 49ers and what was the single biggest reason for the win. Mike told Puck that Mike Macdonald offered a different tone than what Pete Carroll would always preach. It was great to have Abe Lucas back on the field and you could tell immediately that he was a difference maker and he raised the play of the entire offensive line. Geno Smith continues to be hot topic with fans and media and showed again with his last second drive why he continues to be such a polarizing topic and player. Mike gets into a very interesting discussion with Puck on the team building philosophy of Mike Macdonald and how it's different than the rest of the league thinking and how it harkens back to an older style of football. They also discuss the 49ers window and look ahead to the Seahawks matchup with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Lastly, Puck wraps up the Thursday show with, “Hey, What the Puck!?” Money is not everything for everyone. Washington State defensive tackle David Gusta illustrated that this week with Puck. Happiness is being where you are and in the present.
On Wednesday's Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett, he's joined by Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy and his weekly Seahawks guest, Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com. Puck gave Ryan Divish, Seattle Times the week off because coming out on Thursday is Puck's Mariners Offseason DiamondTable Show with Divish, Adam Jude of the Seattle Times, Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio and Bill Krueger and Brad Adam from ROOT Sports. Puck and Jim open up the show discussing the Jake Dickert comments about Oregon State where he doesn't consider the Beavers his buddies. That led to a conversation about the changing landscape of college football and will there be a day where all the West coast teams play in one conference again. Puck plays a soundbite from WSU defensive tackle David Gusta about the world of the transfer portal and the world of tampering by other college coaches. Gusta is Puck's guest this week on Coug's Corner, which you can find on YouTube, Apple, Spotify and up at PuckSports.com. The NCAA and college football need to get a handle on tampering and the NIL before it truly gets out of hand. Before Jim leaves, both discuss the top of Ernest Jones and why so many people after just three games want to sign him up immediately. Also, the boys had a good laugh at the decision looming for Jedd Fisch with who he's going to start at quarterback against Oregon. Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.comjoins Jason “Puck” Puckett to discuss the Seahawks remarkable win over San Francisco. Rob proclaims the 49ers finished and their window closed to make a run at the Super Bowl. They discuss the up and down play of Geno Smith and get into the discussion of whether to pay him or not pay him. It's a subject that is driving Rob mad! Should the Seahawks drop everything and sign Ernest Jones to a contract? Rob and Puck are both an agreement that it's way too early and let the season play out before you come to any conclusion. They also can't figure out why Pro Football Focus (PFF) does not like Jones. Can you believe the Seahawks have a shot at first place in the NFC West?! Puck and Rob can't and that's what makes sports fun. Puck than transitions to baseball and plays a preview of his Mariners Offseason DiamondTable Show with Ryan Divish and Adam Jude of the Seattle Times. Also on the show, Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio and Bill Krueger and Brad Adam of ROOT Sports. The full show is two-plus hours and will come out on Thursday, November 21 and is exclusively available to Puck's Posse Community Members. You can visit PuckSports.com to sign up or head to Patreon.com and search PuckSports. The show covers the 2024 season and what lies ahead for the 2025 season and discusses if ownership is truly all in on investing in a World Series contender. Lastly, Puck wraps up with “Hey, What the Puck!?” It's time for the Mariners to jump into the deep end of the pool and play with the big boys. No more talking about championships. Prove it.

On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is riding solo as Jim Moore, who usually joins on Wednesday's had to attend to a personal matter, but Puck rolls on as he welcomes his regular weekly guests, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times and Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com Puck opens up the show with his criticism of local reporters who claim that the national media was and is just making up a story about D.K. Metcalf and perhaps being traded. As Puck points out it's the same group that claimed that Russell Wilson was never going to be traded and anyone that ever brought that up was uneducated and didn't have a clue about the situation because they weren't “local” and didn't have boots on the ground. It's just inaccurate to say that the Seahawks didn't listen to offers. They obviously didn't have an offer they liked so that's why they didn't trade him, but to suggest that reporters like Mike Garafolo, NFL Network, who joins Puck every week or Adam Schefter of ESPN just simply made up a story is just complete nonsense and Puck can't understand why they didn't learn their lesson from the Wilson trade. Ryan Divish, Seattle Times is back to join Jason “Puck” Puckett, for the Mariners “Cold Stove” Offseason Report. They quickly dive into the M's biggest offseason needs, which are improving the infield and specifically second base, however, there is not much talent out there on the free agent market, nor do the M's feel propelled to trade one of their young pitchers to upgrade that position. Ryan calculated, along with Adam Jude of the Seattle Times, in their most recent “Extra Innings” Podcast, that the Mariners have between $20-25 million to spend on free agents for the upcoming season. Divish explains to Puck why he doesn't think the M's will trade one of their young pitchers and says if they do end up trading a pitcher, the most likely pitcher to be dealt would be Luis Castillo. Divish asked Puck a great question during the show, of the major professional teams in Seattle and they included Husky football, and the Seahawks, Mariners and Kraken. Who is the closest to winning a championship? They both agreed it's probably the Mariners! Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com, drops by for his weekly visit to talk Seahawks football with Jason “Puck” Puckett. And, once again they get right into the play off the offensive line and how poor it was against the Rams. Puck asks Rob if it's fair to question whether the Seahawks got it right with Mike Macdonald? It was a topic Puck brought up yesterday with Danny Kelly of The Ringer and Rob wanted to respond. They both agreed that they didn't know, which is ok to admit! They also wondered and discussed that it's not fair to fully evaluate offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb because Grubb is only getting to a fraction of his play sheet because of the issues along the offensive line. They also discussed the trade market for D.K. Metcalf and if it makes sense in the offseason to consider moving on from Metcalf if they determined that they need to be in rebuilding mode. Puck thinks an offseason rebuild needs to be on the table if they continue to lose games, especially the next three. Is it worth spending money on a receiver and a quarterback if you don't have an offensive line to protect them? How much times does John Schneider have? probably more than you think. Lastly, “Hey, What the Puck!?” Puck disagrees with the NBA's decision to suspend Sixers center Joel Embiid for his encounter with a Philadelphia columnist.
