You always have a good time with Amanda Lamb. That's been my experience since knowing her; she always leaves me laughing, is the first to give you a sideways look about an in-joke and is makes you feel amazing for having spent time in her company. So how wonderful to have committed her genuine friendship and authenticity to audio in this conversation where we discuss how she felt invisible in her 40s and is now loving her 50s, being numbed by anti-anxiety medication and the dreams and aspirations she still wants to achieve. To join the Facebook group for the podcast click here >> The Emma Guns Show Forum. To follow me on social media >> Twitter | Instagram.Watch clips from the podcast >> Youtube | The Emma Guns ShowSign up for my newsletter here >> Newsletter.Subscribe now. ‘God, this gin is strong…' remarks television presenter, property expert and former model Amanda Lamb mid-way through this episode. At another point she describes herself as a ‘box full of kittens'. Both of these quotes should give you an accurate impression of what is an excitable, chaotic and absolutely hilarious episode of Build-A-Bond. Amanda is the perfect guest, meandering from opinion to anecdote to innuendo and back again. In the small gaps between the near constant double entendre and random tangents, Amanda somehow finds time to actual make some picks for her film, although not all are well received by the BaB boys... We also discuss potting shed sex tips, cinema chamber pots and why Amanda used to go to bed with a wet ear. More Amanda Lamb: Instagram: @missamandalamb IMDb: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1083317/

It's rare in the television news business for a station to be able to tap into the expertise of a reporter who has cultivated sources and instrinsic knowledge of a community for nearly thirty years. Amanda Lamb is just that reporter. She's leaving WRAL at the beginning of 2024 as one of the longest-serving reporters in the station's history. She's also an accomplished author, blogger, and podcaster. In this episode Debra Morgan interviews Amanda about her WRAL career, her thoughts on the future of journalism, and what's next for her.
It’s not every day that you get to work with your dad on the project of a lifetime. That’s the gift I have experienced for the past year as I delved into one of his old cases to create a true crime serial podcast for WRAL, “The Killing Month August 1978.” Even though I was just an adolescent at the time, it was a murder case that always stuck with me—six people dead, shot, and in some cases, even buried alive. The criminals were a band of brothers known as the Johnston Gang who killed witnesses when they threatened to snitch on them to police. My dad, William Lamb, was the prosecutor, who along with a very talented assistant district attorney and a dedicated group of investigators, sought justice in this case. In today’s episode, I have the privilege of interviewing my dad in person about what this experience has been like working with me on the podcast and about what he thinks about the final product.
Amanda Lamb is back to introduce the third true crime podcast from WRAL. "The Killing Month August 1978" tells the story of a family crime business run by three brothers who would stop at nothing to keep from getting caught. The Johnston brothers operated in Chester County, PA in the 1970s. When young members of the gang started talking to police, the brothers turned from theft to murder. Amanda talks to Kathy about her personal connection to the story and why she wanted to tell it. "The Killing Month August 1978" is available in your podcast app now.
In today's episode, podcast host Amanda Lamb switches chairs with WRAL anchor Debra Morgan for a very intimate interview. For the past year Amanda and the team at WRAL Studios have been working on "The Killing Month August 1978," a true crime series. The story takes place in rural Pennsylvania and follows the exploits of a crime family whose empire starts crumbling when snitches begin talking to police. That's when witnesses started to disappear. Some of them were found shot to death and buried alive in hand-dug graves. Amanda's father, William Lamb, was the district attorney who prosecuted the killers. She shares her personal story with Debra and the backstory behind the podcast.

The events that took place in Chester County, Pennsylvania in August 1978 were unthinkable. Family killing family. A father calling for the murder of his own son. For years The Johnston Gang got away with everything—theft, burglary, violence—until the brazen attacks of August 1978 crossed a line, and the family crime empire began to crumble. Host and writer Amanda Lamb shares her own memories of the murders and the trials that followed. Her father was the lead prosecutor who helped bring the killers to justice. A fictional account of The Johnston Gang’s downfall was portrayed in the 1986 movie “At Close Range,” but this is the real story of a violent family crime operation and the long task of bringing its leaders to justice. We meet our next guest, Amanda Lamb at the WRAL studio in Raleigh North Carolina. It's so cool to be able to come into an actual news station office and do an interview with a legit career reporter like Amanda. She's a Philly girl who got her first job in 1989 as a reporter in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, and you can imagine the hustle it takes for a Philly girl to get a job in Myrtle Beach back in the day. Mad respect to Amanda for that. Amanda's now a Podcaster, writer, first reporter. Several years ago she came to Raleigh and she met a southern gentleman and fell in love, and now they're raising two girls. Her podcast work is quite interesting and covers quite a wide range of topics, with a strong focus in the true crime genre and she shared some really interesting stories around her experience of being a reporter, a writer, a podcaster. With her extra time she's been playing around with being a comedian. Amanda shares an intimate and beautiful story about her mom aging in place, who passed away with brain cancer and there's a lot to take away from that sharing. I meant to share some great closing thoughts around how we have a choice in how we react to things in our life, along the way, and how to use them, or to learn more about ourselves and life. Hope you join us for Amanda's episode, it's a great journey through The Jar with her. This has been so hard for our community to process. An event which is supposed to be joyful ends in horror. A pickup truck pulling one of the floats apparently had a brake failure and accidentally plowed into a group of dancers in front of him. In this episode, anchor Chris Lovingood interviews reporter Amanda Lamb who was at the parade and covered the story for WRAL. Correction (11/22/22): In this episode, we mistakenly referred to the intersection where the accident happen as Boylan and Hargett Streets. It was Boylan and Hillborough Streets. We said Hailey Brooks attended Cardinal Academy. She previously attended Carolina Charter Academy.
In the first two years of the pandemic more soldiers from Fort Bragg died by suicide and from drug overdoses than in training or combat. WRAL Investigates producer Randall Kerr researched and produced a report on this topic along with reporter Cullen Browder. In this episode, Randall joins Amanda Lamb to talk about why this is happening and about possible solutions to prevent these deaths in the future. https://www.wral.com/from-2020-2021-suicides-drugs-kill-fort-bragg-soldiers-at-higher-rate-than-combat-training-and-training-deaths/20510635/

Meet the incredible investigators who made it their mission to identify Baby Michael and find his killer, and learn how they tapped into an innovation in forensic science to crack a 21-year old cold case. Introducing What Remains, a new podcast where true crime meets forensic science. Every year in the United States there are 600,000 missing person reports and 4,400 sets of unidentified human remains are found. But matching the remains to the missing people is not an easy task. With no ID, human skeletal remains often end up at medical examiners' offices where they sit in storage closets for years, gathering dust as evidence slowly disappears. These are some of the most difficult cold cases to crack. Unsolved murders. Missing people never identified. Families left without answers. What Remains follows forensic anthropolgists, genealogists, criminal investigators, facial reconstruction artists and volunteers dedicated to matching unidentified human remains to missing and murdered people. WRAL Studios, the creators of Follow The Truth present What Remains, hosted by veteran crime reporter Amanda Lamb. Episode one coming soon! Learn more about your ad choices. Larry Demery has served 28 years behind bars for the murder of Michael Jordan's father, James. In 2020 he was granted parole and required to complete a three-year pre-release program. If he stayed out of trouble in prison, he would be released in August 2023. A few months later, due to some infractions, his release date was pushed to August 2024. Recently, the parole commission announced they were cancelling Demery's parole completely. What happened to cause this rare termination of parole? Follow the Truth is a true crime podcast re-investigating the murder of Michael Jordan's dad, James R. Jordan Sr. The two men convicted, Larry Demery and Daniel Andre Green tell conflicting stories of what happened the night of the James Jordan murder. Daniel Green has served nearly three decades in a North Carolina prison maintaining his innocence in the killing. Veteran crime reporter Amanda Lamb questions the evidence, and explores whether this is a case of wrongful conviction. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Amanda Lamb – TV Presenter & Model – “Winging It?!” After starting her career as an Estate Agent in Hampshire, this week's guest burst onto our screens in the mid 90's as the face of Scottish Widows. She very nearly, however, didn't go to the audition as it was her birthday. Since this big break, Amanda Lamb continued her modelling career before launching into TV presenting in the early 2000's. The worlds of modelling and TV presenting can sound glamorous, and they can be, but dealing with knock backs based your persona, how you sound, or simply what you look like are commonplace. This episode has some key mindset themes for people that often have to deal with rejection, or when the phone simply stops ringing at all. Do you often quote or pitch for work and get knocked back? Do you find yourself overlooked at work for responsibilities that will further develop you? Amanda also gives some sound advice for networking and developing relationships in crowded and close-knit industries. Amanda was born and raised in Leigh Park, just outside of Portsmouth, formerly the largest council estate in Europe. She talks to us about the resilience and mindset required to succeed in an industry where work can be plentiful or sporadic within the space of a few months, the pressures of social media and why she will always be known as the kindest person to have ever potentially committed breaking and entering! Amanda puts lots of her success down to simply “winging it” but Ben and Si investigate this further and discover this may not necessarily be the case. An important message about maintaining conversations and face time with people that really count is also contained within! Enjoy the show! The Printmaker Podcast - A Business Podcast for Professional Photographers
In this episode I'm talking to Colorado Springs photographer Amanda Lamb about her journey from being ‘too afraid to charge what she's worth' to leading her clients to spending more (and of course getting them what they want). We will be diving into the mindset shifts Amanda has had to experience and the importance of really knowing your numbers - in particular Amanda dives into how her entire pricing model factors in the break even point in her business and how she uses the ‘loss leader' concept to entice her clients in for their first session. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/printmaker/message
