The Real AI: Authenticity + Intention in Life and Business In a world where AI can write emails, produce video, and even mimic your voice, the greatest competitive advantage left is being human. Brian McRae reminds us that emotional loyalty, being known, valued, remembered, is what creates opportunity, referrals, purpose, and a life of meaningful success. Social media may get you attention, but it will never create devotion. Relationships do. If you've been feeling alone, stuck, or unsure how to expand your circle of opportunity, this conversation is your roadmap back to connection. Key Points with Reflection Questions: Emotional Loyalty Is More Powerful Than Marketing. Most loyalty is transactional or habitual. But emotional loyalty, the kind your favorite small restaurant gives you when they remember your name and your kids, is what transforms your business and life. Brian built an entire mortgage business through emotional loyalty created at his monthly event. Reflection Question: Who in your life deserves more intentional appreciation from you this week? Authenticity + Intentionality = The New AI. Brian says the most important "AI" in business isn't artificial intelligence. It's Authentic and Intentional actions. A handwritten note, a thoughtful question, or genuine curiosity carries more power than any automated funnel. Reflection Question: Where can you replace automation with authentic intention? The World Rewards Generosity, Not Neediness. Most networking fails because people lead with "What's in it for me?" Brian teaches the opposite: Lead with gratitude, curiosity, and generosity, and doors open that marketing can't touch. Reflection Question: What's one simple generosity action you can take in the next 24 hours? Referrals Come From Partners, Not Clients. Most people confuse their client with their referral partner. Referral partners don't want to be sold to. They want partnership, support, and value. Brian's business grew by helping other professionals grow theirs. Reflection Question: Who are your true referral partners, and how are you helping them win? Relationships Require Rhythm and Systems. You don't need the perfect CRM. You need the one you actually use. Brian says: Identify your top relationships, Create a connection plan, Put follow-up time on your calendar, Track what matters, and Your calendar reveals your priorities. Your CRM reveals your influence. Reflection Question: What relationship rhythm do you need to protect weekly? Success Requires Facing Challenges, Not Avoiding Them. Brian has worked with and coached thousands of successful people. Their secret? They don't avoid challenges — they grow through them. They look for opportunity in the obstacle. Reflection Question: What challenge are you resisting that might actually be your path to growth Faith, Wisdom, and Mentors Shape Everything. Brian openly shares that faith transformed his life, and that mentors changed his direction. Success isn't achieved alone. It's shaped by the wisdom of people who've walked the road before us. Reflection Question: Which wise voice should you be listening to more closely right now? Money Learning from Brian McRae: Brian uses Profit First not because it's trendy, but because he never wants financial surprises again. · Profit First gave him: Peace of mind Predictable cash flow Confidence his taxes and expenses were covered The freedom to build a coaching business in alignment with his strengths He described Profit First as a system that eliminates stress and supports life-aligned decisions. In Richer Soul terms: It's a structure that creates space for purpose. Key Takeaway: Success is not built on followers, funnels, or tactics. Success is built on intentional generosity, consistent relational rhythms, and becoming someone others want to advocate for. Emotional loyalty is the last unfair advantage in a world of automation. Bio: Brian McRae built an award-winning, referral-based mortgage practice that placed him among the top 1% of originators nationwide. But along the way, he discovered a surprising truth: success isn't about being the best salesperson in the room—it's about becoming the most trusted advisor in someone's life. Today, Brian coaches loan officers, financial advisors, and attorneys on how to build rich relationships that generate referrals and grow their businesses—without sacrificing their faith, family, or fitness. His clients learn how to attract business instead of chase it, freeing up time and energy for what matters most. Through his frameworks, the Trusted Advisor Playbook and the Momentum System, Brian gives leaders a step-by-step plan to win more clients by first winning more trust. If you want to grow your practice through trust instead of tactics, Brian is the coach who can show you how. Excited to share this episode with you. There are some emotional moments in this episode. Our guest this week is a Servant Leader who helps leaders win at work and win at home! I've seen Brian McRae positively impact hundreds of people that I know, including myself. For years I prayed for a mentor in my business life. God answered that prayer in spades in his time, not mine. Brian IS one of these mentors that God brought into my life. Truly an answered prayer. Study, practice and teach is a theme in this podcast. What's the best way that you learn? For me, it's when I teach. -Who do you spend time with? Who do you allow to influence your life and your decision making? -Do you have a mentor or faith group in your life? -Are you living for Success or Significance? Check out Galations 5:22 -What's one thing that I learned from Brian that I do everyday that I do every day that has helped my life and my marriage? -What is the new AI? We talk about how John Ruhlin (Giftology, friend and former guest on the podcast) was an Ambassador for Christ through his thoughts, words and actions and how he was able to weave Christ into conversations and plant seeds all the time. Yes, that IS Blake Brewer (Legacy Letter) in this episode's podcast picture with Brian and I. Brian introduced me to Blake years ago and I'm so grateful for that! CHALLENGE: Take Massive Action on one thing that you heard in this episode (especially the one that makes you the most uncomfortable)!!! -Are you in a business that would benefit from referrals? Unleash your inner speed demon as we dive into the adrenaline-fueled world of high-performance racing simulations. In this episode of The MOVEMENT Movement, Steven Sashen speaks with Brian McRae, a professional sim racer who approaches the virtual racing world with the same dedication and seriousness as traditional motorsports, viewing it as a legitimate discipline within the racing community. He asserts that modern racing simulators offer a level of fidelity and realism akin to flight simulators, making them highly effective training tools for aspiring racers. By advocating for sim racing as a viable entry point into professional motorsports, McRae highlights success stories like those of NASCAR drivers Ty Majeski and William Byron, who transitioned from virtual to real-world racing. His passion for sim racing is further reflected in the vibrant community he has fostered, with his popular YouTube league drawing a dedicated audience and showcasing the thrill of racing without the financial and physical risks associated with traditional motorsport. Key Takeaways: → Practice the heel-toe shifting technique for smoother gear engagement. → Explore paddle shifting for faster and more efficient gear changes. → Engage in short and intense physical activities for improved performance. → How people can learn from both their successes and their failures. The Cubs have been a professional baseball for (most of) their 148 years of existence and you'd think that over that time they would have a long history of excellence in center field. You'd be wrong. The guys are back to Remember This Crap about Cubs centerfielders over the years, with a special focus on the guys who've tried to play there the last 50 years. Some are better than you remember (Rick Monday, Brian McRae), some are even worse than you feared (Corey Patterson, Felix Pie) and some you hardly remember at all (Marlon Byrd, Emilio Bonifacio, Carlos Lezcano). They make the case that even though we grew up being told third base was the problem it hardly ever was, especially compared to center. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/desipio/message

It was the dawn of a new era for the Cubs with Andy MacPhail, Ed Lynch and Jim Riggleman wandering into town. They traded for Brian McRae, grabbed Howard Johnson off the scrapheap, and once they found out what a juggernaut they had they traded in-season for Todd Zeile, Luis Gonzalez and Scott Servais. Frank Castillo almost threw a no hitter, Randy Myers almost killed a guy, Shawon Dunston, Scott Bullett and Mark Parent came up big down the stretch (no, really), and when faced with elimination they refused to lose until almost the very end. Join us as we relive the 1995 Cubs. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/desipio/message

This week, Brian McRae, Division Chief of Land and Water Access for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, discusses the hiking opportunities abundant in the half million acres of land owned by the WRC across the state. Be warned, though: these aren't your tamed and groomed state or national parks. They tend to be a little wilder — and a lot less crowded. In short, they require a little extra preparation before exploring, and Brian discusses the various resources available to help you do just that.Helpful links:N.C.
