When you get your career to a “sweet spot,” it often includes a feeling of control and a period of less stress. It allows you to feel confident, happy, and more present in other activities. This is something we want for all the musicians in our community. What we both have found in our journey is that a team is often critical to achieving that balance and experiencing that “sweet spot” while continuing to grow as musicians, businesspeople, and humans!

And it spreads happiness by sharing your music. I'm Chris Webb, joined by our co-host and happiness super-spreader, Dave Tamkin. Many people believe that happiness is a choice. What is your opinion? I like to think it's a series of choices that lead to a state of happiness and perhaps the biggest choice we get to make in the free world is what we do with our time. Our guest Chadzilla is a mint example of this and we discuss how to find places you are valued and how exploring our creativity effortlessly enables our income diversification.Quote:“If you have the trust and belief to stand up for yourself than the world will reward you” - ChadzillaFounded in 1979, Swallow Hill Music (SHM, Swallow Hill) is a Denver-based 501(c)(3) organization that strives to positively impact the quality of people's lives through music. We feel the need to be creative but it is only by following that need into action and making choices to pursue the opportunities that feel right, that we reap the rewards of this feeling called happiness. Today we are doing something long overdue in those efforts; shedding light on the ever growing resource that is www.musicianstipjar.comFor many, the term “bucket list” has a negative connotation as it is associated with a list of things to do before dying. For Kaydee Koch, creating a bucket list was simply a way to tap into her creative side, that part of herself that dared to dream bigger and make life more meaningful. She started keeping a bucket list when she was in middle school and never stopped. Kaydee's bucket lists were bold, colorful, imaginative and inspiring, just like the girl who created them. Welcome to musicians Tip Jar, where we talk about musicians and money. I'm your host, Chris Webb, Joined by my co-host and the Kevin Costner to this podcast's Whitney Huston, Dave Tamkin. As predictable as a Hollywood movie ending, when someone thinks “musician” as a career choice they think; hard life, temporary, dreamer, low-income...As artists we think; all or nothing, complete sacrifice, poor until rich, make or break and often end up accepting a low-income career mindset. Well, we are here to change that, the shift must start with the way we think as musicians and money. Money doesn't think. What gives money meaning and emotion is humanity, it's us. So whatever type of money movie you have been watching, grab some popcorn as we discuss the plot holes, right after this.3Arts works to sustain and promote artists in the six-county Chicago metropolitan area.
