When Brittany and Matt Dobson set out to find suitable, well fitting outdoor camouflage gear for their two boys, they hit a giant wall.  They found that there was very little to no options for camo clothes for small kids. The challenges of that search sparked the idea and passion to create Tiny Goose Apparel to ensure that all other parents who wish to raise their children in the outdoors didn't have to face the same challenges they had when it came to outfitting their kids in warm, comfortable camo clothes. They set out to make their company unique from the ground up with their own camo design, the highest quality kids camo on the market and unrivaled customer service/accessibility to Canada & USA.  Their roots run deep into waterfowl, but they feel their products are suitable for any outdoor adventure that your little ones can get into. This is their story - enjoy!!#GoHuntBirds | #evolve | #ShareBirdHuntingwww.GoHuntBirds.com

Part one of a reading of an essay I am writing, Focal Points and the Roots of Abstraction.Human color vision adapts to the changing environment in many ways. Pupils dilate and constrict in order to regulate the amount of light entering the eye. The lens either bunches up or flattens out to change its shape while focusing light wavelengths along the spectral band at different proximities to the retina. Cone cells, and other light sensitive cells, perform plus-or-minus gains in activity to achieve what is known as color constancy, allowing humans to maintain a persistent perception of colors within changing light sources. Adaptations such as these take place at different rates of time, some more quickly than others; some more involuntarily than others, which may relate to how focal points form and dissipate within a visual field. This essay explores how adaptations of the visual system may generate focal points, and how representing light as colors informed the roots of abstraction.

This is one of those things that people either have or don't and it's really hard to just own your own styling, so you go find inspiration. In this episode, I discuss the biological mechanisms of the state changes that occur during different types of mediation and describe how to develop the mediation practice optimal for you. I explain key meditation principles, such as using specific breathwork patterns and adjusting your perception to specific locations along the continuum between interoception, exteroception and dissociation. I discuss how meditation practices lead to long-term trait changes and neuroplasticity, including changing your default mood, reducing baseline anxiety/depression, increasing your ability to focus, enhancing relaxation, improving sleep, and increasing your overall happiness level. I also explain the concept behind the “third-eye center,” what mindfulness is from a biological standpoint, the power of ultra-brief meditations and how to select the best meditation and time and duration to meditate to meet your need. I also explain a novel open-eyed perception-based meditation that may enhance focus, relaxation and task-switching ability. Whether you are a novice or an experienced meditator or simply interested in how our brain controls different aspects of conscious awareness and self-regulation, this episode should interest you.
