What MPs have described as a ‘distorted' marijuana bill which was supposed to control the recreational use of the drug has instead provided a framework for just that which it was supposed to suppress with minor, obvious and insignificant restrictions. The revolt against the bill in September has already led to bad blood between the Bhumjaithai Party and Democrat Party in the coalition government. It will be a contentious issue for the next General Election when the public will have its voice on the subject. It is an issue which will decide the future course of the populist Bhumjaithai Party which has now staked its future on the mission to legalise pot and placing it at the centre of the economy.https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2022/11/24/recreational-cannabis-targeted-as-mps-revolt-anutin-bhumjaithai/Joseph O' Connor reports from Bangkok.
Here's a preview from another podcast, Gastropod. Edible cannabis products are hot right now: Snoop's got some, Willie Nelson's got some—even Martha Stewart's making fancy French-style gummies. In states where it's legal, you can buy everything from marshmallows to macarons, all laden with THC, the psychoactive compound in cannabis. This commercial boom may be recent, but the history of edibles goes way, way back to the origins of the plant thousands of years ago in the Himalayas—in fact, people were eating (and drinking) cannabis long before they were inhaling it. So when did cannabis start being smoked instead—and how did it find itself not only banned, but classified as more dangerous than both opium and meth? With the help of the woman whose family ran America's first edibles empire, we also discover why the pot brownie is America's quintessential edible, and how this humble, slightly mulchy baked good helped make weed legal again. Plus: How today's cannabis chefs are upping the ante and taking weed recipes to new—ahem—highs (please allow us just this one pun).See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The 100th episode of Utah in the Weeds features a candid conversation with TV host Big Budah. Budah talked about his use of Medical Cannabis to treat chronic pain and sleep issues.
The legalisation of the cannabis industry in California in 2016 was signaling the end of the illegal market and promising economic gains. Today leading California cannabis companies warn that they're on the verge of collapse as most local governments have been reluctant to loosen regulatory frameworks, reduce taxes, permit wider range of product formats, and establish more attractive distribution systems for easier access. According to Euromonitor's Global Lead for Nicotine and Cannabis Industries Shane MacGuill, uncertainty in the regulatory frameworks and lack of legal activity negatively impacts investments and social acceptance of the industry. More attractive prices, dynamism, authenticity, and easier access of the illegal propositions still remain more attractive to consumers. With more countries considering legalisation of the cannabis industry, learning from North American experience becomes critical. Euromonitor's Shane highlights the importance of having a clear purpose for legalization that would set the basis for well-balanced regulatory frameworks and smooth transition from illegal to legal cannabis consumption.

Amsterdam's Cannabis Revolution - featuring “The Potfather” - Dutch cannabis pioneer Wernard Bruining (Episode 12). In our new episode of Cannthropology, we explore the origins of how Amsterdam became the cannabis capital of Europe, from the perspective of one of the Netherlands' most pivotal cannabis pioneers–Wernard Bruining. He's known as “The Potfather,” and with good reason: in 1973, he opened Amsterdam's very first coffee shop, the Mellow Yellow; in 1980, he started the world's first commercial cannabis seed company (Lowland Seed Company), and five years later he opened Europe's first cannabis grow shop, Positronics; a decade later in 1995, he founded Europe's first medical marijuana foundation—Stichting Mediwiet. Host Bobby Black speaks with Wernard about how the Provo movement helped instigate the Netherlands' policy of cannabis tolerance, how the coffeeshop industry first began, how his “Green Team” of legendary growers/breeders helped turn the world on to sinsemilla, and how learning about Rick Simpson inspired him to switch his focus to the medical side of marijuana.

When was the last time you went to CVS and thought twice about the quality of medicine you were getting? You don't and that is exactly how it should be! In the new era of medical cannabis, dispensaries across the country are working hard to educate the public about medical cannabis and building the public's trust in their products. Nowhere do we see these efforts paying off more than in our very own backyard with Columbus's own Terrasana Medical Cannabis Dispensary. To be in this business you have to really care about helping people and be passionate & educated about medical cannabis. So to see a local company literally having all of those factors in their DNA is exciting and always some of my favorite interviews. Joining us is Terrasana's Director of Outreach Emilie Ramach who stops by The Gray to talk about Terrasana, their mission statement, what the public needs to know about medical cannabis, and what they are doing to address the both positive and negative feedback that they are hearing from patientsI am also joined by our Cannabis Correspondent & Sponsor Dominic Buccilla of Cannagroup to help me tackle the topic of medical cannabis. Gray Matters Radio is a proud member of the 6One4 Radio Network family of podcasts. Find this as well as all our episodes on every major podcasting platform.
So if you’ve been getting my emails this week, you know that I’m extremely excited that my friend Teeka Tiwari has spent the last year traveling around the world to find out the best way to invest in the cannabis revolution that’s taking place in the US right now. If you’ve been listening to the show for a while, you know that this is a topic I’m extremely interested in. We’ve interviewed the founder of Green Man Cannabis, Christian Hagaseth, and Dr. Mike Hart, who’s been on Joe Rogan’s show, and who is one of the biggest advocates in the world for the medicinal benefits that cannabis can provide. Right now, outside of crypto, cannabis is the single best investment opportunity of our lives, but figuring out the best way to invest in the industry, isn’t very clear at all. Should you invest in the farms that are growing the plants? Should you invest in the processing and manufacturing facilities? Should you invest in the consumer brands like Dan Bilzarian’s Ignite? Should you invest in a Cannabis stock fund, or ETF? The options are endless, and just like crypto, you can make life-changing money, but there is also a significant amount of risk involved. The good news, is that you can dramatically reduce that level of risk when you arm yourself with research and information, which is exactly what Teeka has done. He’s found the greatest point of leverage in this new industry, and in my humble opinion, you’d be foolish not to invest a small amount of money in this industry right now. So I asked him to jump on the phone today for this quick interview to help us navigate the industry, and to share what he’s learned. Now tonight, June 26th, he will be holding a live webinar sharing what they’ve discovered in detail, and while I can’t say exactly what it is publicly before he does, I can tell you this… You’re going to have the opportunity to participate in some private-placement opportunities alongside myself and the rest of his team, in the Cannabis industry. The time he invested in one of these, he turned $1,000, into $1.6 million. So if this is an area of interest for you, as it is for me, make sure you head to PalmBeachGoesGreen.com to register for tonight’s webinar. I do know that these opportunities are definitely limited in nature, so you’re going to want to be at the front of the line for what they’re going to share. Again, you can register to attend tonight’s live webinar at www.PalmBeachGoesGreen.com. If you need to pause the recording and pull up your browser, do that right now, and then we’ll dive into this extremely interesting interview with Teeka. There are two industries around the world that are on the cusp of exponential growth… The first is crypto currencies and assets like Bitcoin, and the second is grass, ganja, the reefer, mary jane, aka, marijuana. Thanks to the states of Colorado and Washington, the doors were opened to the recreational legalization of cannabis in 2012. Since then 47 out of 50 states have legalized marijuana sales for medical use, while 11 have made it fully legal for sale recreationally. But those laws are changing incredibly fast as the general public’s perception of marijuana has started to change, and as these state government’s begin to the see the considerable amount of tax revenue being generated by this new industry. Within the next few years, the recreational sale and use of cannabis will be legalized across the country. Just like Crypto, this decriminalization process has kicked-off a new gold rush for savvy, forward thinking entrepreneurs. The race to capture the next $100 Billion market has begun, and today we’re joined by one of the biggest players in the industry, Christian Hageseth. Christian is the Founder of Green Man Cannabis, which is an award winning cultivation and dispensary company out of Colorado. Today, Christian is creating the first dispensary franchise through the ONE Cannabis Group, and they will be taking the company public in Q1 of 2019. Whether it’s creating your own line of CBD supplements, buying a One Cannabis Franchise, or simply investing in the stock of these companies as they start to go public, the opportunities this new industry is creating for entrepreneurs like you, are absolutely endless. If this is an industry that you’d like to learn more about, and learn quickly, then I’d recommend picking up a copy of Christian’s book, Big Weed. In a nod to Big Oil, Big Tobacco and Big Alcohol, Big Weed will bring you up to speed on every facet of the industry, and give you a basic lay of the land so you can start to understand it, and identify opportunities. So without further ado, please help me welcome, Christian Hageseth. Dr. Jeanette welcomes Dr. Stephen Holt, M.D., the Cannabis expert and author of The Cannabis Revolution; What You Need To Know to discuss this plant. How can we relate our experiences with 'weed' in the 60's and the 70's to a life saving plant that can help with a significant health crisis now in our later years? Am I going to get 'high' and all my relatives will run away from me as I use cannabis to help me get through the day? Will I be out of touch, out to lunch or will I just be taken to a place of peace where my pain had complete control over the years? What are the differences in Cannabis, how can I find what will help me with my pain or health struggle, and where do I start to look for answers? I feel like if I check online I am getting into a world of comments and stories that do not help me to find MY answers, what can I do now? For more information visit: www.NaturalClinician.com and please reach out to Dr. Holt if you need further personal support on this topic. Call their office for support if you are in need. Wes Abney is the founder of The Northwest Leaf, a medical cannabis industry magazine based out of Washington. He and show host Shango Los discuss how he grew The Northwest Leaf over time, how the cannabis industry has begun to trade prohibition-era isolation and paranoia for a willingness to come out in the open, what he thinks about cannabis advertisements that exploit women's bodies, and how cannabis specific media outlets can “set the record straight” when the mainstream media butches the topic.
