Welcome to Databank Brawl Rewind! Databank Brawl was a series that ran on ForceCenter from 2016 to 2020 and it remains one of our more beloved shows. Though Databank Brawl is on hiatus, we wanted to celebrate it along with the longtime listeners of the podcast and reintroduce it to the ForceCenter listeners who began listening to the podcast after the end of the show's run. Though all of the episodes remain on our podcast feed it can be daunting to scroll back and find them, so we're launching Databank Rewind. Here's your chance to go back to those episodes week-by-week and laugh with us at old jokes, memorable moments, unforgettable guests, and, yeah, old microphones, recordings, and perhaps some Star Wars predictions that came true alongside many that most certainly did not. Databank Brawl -- where Star Wars characters are plucked from the entries of the StarWars.com databank and forced to fight it out in an off-the-cuff podcast moderated by Joseph Scrimshaw. It's time to fight...From the minds of Ken Napzok (comedian, host of The Napzok Files), Joseph Scrimshaw (comedian, writer, host of the Obsessed podcast), and Jennifer Landa (actress, YouTuber, crafter, contributor on StarWars.com) comes the ForceCenter Podcast Feed. Peach Momoko's Star Wars Visions one-shot is a true masterpiece in form, style and storytelling, wordlessly conveying the past, present and future across pages and pages of electrifying illustrations. The Dark Droids event burns its way through the mini-series' namesake fourth issue and into the pages of Doctor Aphra #38, delivering a blow to the bodies of all involved, none more than Chelli Aphra herself in a deluge of body horror and, yes, introspection. The Inflatable Falcon hosts Ken and John delve into the Star Wars universe's lesser-explored corners, offering speculative takes on what might have happened to Anakin's childhood friends and Padme's Captain Panaka after ‘The Phantom Menace.' The duo also discusses the intriguing lore behind elements like Jawa Juice and Dexter's Diner, while sharing their recent experiences with Star Wars audiobooks and "trooping" activities.

Hey Trekkies! Welcome back to another episode of Yelling About Star Trek. In this weeks episode I discuss Travis from Enterprise and explain why I think he's the worst character in all of Trek. I don't blame actor Anthony Montgomery at all, he was just given bad material. Oh, and I go on a very long rant about Captain Panaka from Star Wars and his really stupid hat. Enjoy!
We celebrate May the 4th with a viewing of their least favourite of the Star Wars Films, Episode II: Attack of the Clones. They discuss Hayden Christensen's upcoming appearance in Obi Wan's new show, why Padme's security officer Captain Panaka bowed out of this movie and Rose Byrne's appearance in the film (Joe said the wrong spot that she appeared but was right about her appearance). Joe reveals the genesis of CG Yoda, which actors in this film continued on through the extended Universe and the fake working title for the film. They talk about this being the final Star Wars movie on VHS in North America. They also discuss Hayden Christensen's early career including a Canadian drama that birthed a number of big careers as well as Hayden's relationship with Star Wars so many years after doing the movies. Joe makes a suggestion to improve the feasability of the relationship between Anakin and Padme by aging him up in the first movie. We give a brief history of Coruscant and look forward to the new Star Wars content, including Star Wars: Detours. Todd continues to be impressed by Joe's ability to identify Star Wars Characters. Joe tries to explain away Anakin's cadence in the film and lists a number of actors who were seen for the role, including some who are no longer with us. Joe reveals the cameos in the cantina scene and the fact that this movie had a cowriter and explains grooming to Todd and compares it to what happens in the movie. They criticize Lucas' work as a writer of romance and Joe shares his experience with cannabis. Joe explains the monk-like rules of the Jedi. They rank this film in the Skywalker Saga and Todd forgets how the clones work. They dig into the romantic scenes in the film. Joe pines for the Star Wars Sound Effect Library and talks about a creature from earlier in the film that can be found in the asteroid field. Todd questions the morality of making clones just to send them to die. Joe fills in the missing story pieces that would have better explained Anakin's journey towards the dark side in this film. The guys have a theory about one of Padme's costumes. Joe discusses the origins of Mace Windu's Purple light saber, both in the story and in real life and points out a subtle, yet gruesome moment of the Jedi battle scene. They connect Dooku and Grand Moff Tarkin through the Hammer Horror universe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DISCORD - https://discord.gg/a6UEWh9zft PODCAST - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/miscast-commentary/id1145697204 WEBSITE - http://www.miscastcommentary.com/ TWITTER - https://twitter.com/miscastpodcast FACEBOOK - https://www.facebook.com/miscastcommentary TEEPUBLIC - https://www.teepublic.com/stores/miscast-commentary?ref_id=7636 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow Joe! Mild spoilers continue in my discussion of E.K. Johnston's Star Wars: Queen's Shadow. We know from Attack of the Clones and the Clone Wars cartoon series that Nute Gunray holds a grudge against Padme Amidala. Johnston's novel fills in more of that backstory, and how it affects Padme's first year in the Senate. Plus, the fate of Captain Panaka, and a Battlefront II tie-in... Punch it! ***I'm listener supported! Join the community at http://Patreon.com/sw7x7 to get access to bonus episodes and other insider rewards.***
This time we watch "Daleks Take Manhattan" (Series 3, Episode 4) where the Doctor takes Not-Rose to 1930's New York as an apology for dragging her along on the Doctor/Actual Rose greatest hits tour of New New York. Episode 139 - "Sabe". In this episode we discuss the unmistakable identical doppelgänger of Queen Amidala from "The Phantom Menace" episode 1 of the Star Wars Saga. Extended Show Notes (potential for spoilers): Sabe, the loyal handmaiden to Queen Padme Amidala. In this episode we discuss Sabe's history; from her early days growing on Naboo, to this training and guidance form Captain Panaka and the Royal Naboo Security forces. Chris's names take a unique turn as Matt questions his choice source material. The crew attempts to list the handmaidens from memory to disastrous results. We learn Chris has a special guest in his home than puts a bit of damper on his usual brand of humor. We debate the stated fact that Sabe's appearance greatly matches Queen Amidala, and explore the task laid upon the Queen's handmaidens. A big plot spoiler is found in remember the previews for The Phantom Menace. Her extensive training as a handmaiden is discussed and expanded upon in our normal fashion. Matt takes advantage of Chris' visitor situation to make Chris laugh to the point of passing out yet once again. Tim theorizes moments of revenge enacted on the Queen while Sabe was the active decoy. We learn a lot about her story in Episode 1 not seen on screen, including another potential disaster not prevented by Obi-wan. Tim astounds us with his Neimoidian impression. We learn about her post movie story including following the Skywalker bloodline to the rebellion. We put Keira Knightley through the SWIC hot or not take a very quick stroll through her career. Chris gets some long overdue redemption from a listener email and gets a little confused over his trivia question. February 12, 2012 - It’s time for the iFanboy three to close the book on a legendary chapter in their lives. That’s right, we saw, and are now talking about, for what is destined to be the last time, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 3D. Josh, Ron, and Conor have a long history with Star Wars, and this movie takes them back to another time. Does the revisitation reveal anything unexpected about the much maligned movie, or is it as bad as expected. Or is it worse. We try to be more positive than Captain Panaka, which isn’t very hard. We also have no army. Put on your 3D glasses, and sit back. We’re talking about Episode I. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
