Hey there fellow travelers of the Jundland Wastes! Today on the podcast we chat about the 10th episode of The Bad Batch...Retrieval! In addition, I share about more guests at Star Wars Celebration and some comments by Qui-Gon Jinn himself, Liam Neeson about his thoughts of reprising his role. Warm up a coffee and join us for another episode of The Traveling the Jundland Wastes Podcast!
Liam Neeson was asked about his return as Qui-Gon Jinn in the Kenobi show, to which he threw his hands up in the air and said that there are too many spin offs now, which makes Star Wars feel diluted (paraphrase). The interview is making the rounds on many different article headlines and websites, so here are my thoughts about what Liam Neeson said and the validity of it.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
In this podcast I'd like to discuss the major topics that would be changed in the galaxy, rather than somewhat smaller events that took place in episode 1, such as Anakin's help with the battle of Naboo and other details. Rather we will go into a larger vision of what would truly happen. It is stated in the book, Darth Plagueis written by james luceno that Plagueis did attempt to influence the midichlorians to create the ultimate Sith weapon alongside Darth Sidious, however, the experiment was ultimately a failure, and the midichlorians, sensing the Sith's inherent malevolent intention, not only refused to do so, but in retaliation, conceived Anakin Skywalker in order to destroy the Sith once and for all. During the crisis on Naboo, Plagueis was surprised to discover the existence of Anakin Skywalker, a young Humanboy born without a father. Plagueis concluded that not only had the midi-chlorians resisted his will, but they had also retaliated by engineering the conception of the Jedi Order's long-awaited Chosen One, a Jedi destined to restore balance to the Force by destroying the Sith.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
This story encompasses the what if scenario regarding Anakin and the pod race in episode 1 the Phantom Menace. This would change many things. Obi Wan Kenobi, Qui Gon Jinn, and Padme would all have to take measures into their own hands against Watto. Do they force him to bend to their will? What about Darth Maul? Emperor Palpatine takes on a new apprentice, Asajj Ventress and Count Dooku. Anakin's powers are exponential in The Revenge of the Sith and his abilities give him more clarity. His turn to the dark side slipped deeper when he had to rescue his mother from the Hutt's, as opposed to when he simply killed the Sand People who didn't stand much of a chance anyways. This changes his battle leading into Mustafar as well. What happens when you change a character entirely, so much so that it alters your entire perspective on the galaxy as you know it? When you change one seemingly small detail on one character's back story? Well, we have some theories that you might find interesting! Sage and Sydney go over the possibility of season 2 of Obi Wan Kenobi, what that story could follow, will we see more Qui Gon Jinn, and how will it change the Star Wars universe! They also go over a huge change that almost happened in the Clone Wars that would have made huge ramifications on the entire Star Wars saga! ───────── ➤ Twitter: https://twitter.com/UplinkPodcast Catch up with us on our socials! Fan-Fiction! What if Anakin Skywalker didn't drop when Qui-Gon Jinn told him to as Darth Maul raced towards them? I feel many things would have changed in the galaxy, let's see how it would play out scene by scene. Would Qui-Gon Jinn take him back to the Jedi Temple and discuss it with Mace Windu and Yoda? Or would Anakin be in critical condition? What about Padme and Obi-Wan Kenobi? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Today's fan-fiction is written by A.I. with specific prompts from me to take it into a certain direction. What if Darth Maul didn't go into exile after his defeat from Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Phantom Menace, after defeating Qui-Gon Jinn? What if Maul stayed Palpatine's Apprentice the entire time? What happens to Anakin Skywalker? To the Jedi Order? Yoda? Mace Windu? Luke and Leia? Let's have some fun in today's fan fiction and find out... Learn more about your ad choices. I have noticed from the Jedi Survivor live reaction I did with the Star Wars community, that the Lightsabers seem to have changed a bit in this new game following Jedi Fallen Order. The Lightsabers seem to be longer in some scenes and unless this is a glitch or something (which I don't believe it to be so) I think Lucasfilm is following the old Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast style where you can change your Lightsaber type/strength/length. Much like in Star Wars history, we actually get Lightsabers with a knob which can change the blade length and power. I believe Qui-Gon Jinn used this very feature on his lightsaber in the Phantom Menace when he tried to get into Nut Gunray's quarters. Here's some lore on the matter. Thank you for listening to today's podcast. I hope you have a great day, and I'll see you in the next one! May the force be with you, ALWAYS! Learn more about your ad choices. So in Star Wars at this point we've seen so many different deaths of force users, whether it be Maul being chopped in half, to Dooku being beheaded, Anakin's fall to Obi-Wan, or later with Disney how they keep gutting one another and surviving. Rey doing it to Kylo, and Reva being stabbed twice in the gut once as a child by Darth Vader in the Jedi Temple and later as an adult by Darth Vader again, and surviving both times. With all of these deaths, the most controversial one of them all, especially after Disney has made their projects, is in regards to Qui-Gon Jinn's death. Qui-Gon was my favorite Jedi, and it is no question that if he had survived, the fate of the galaxy would have literally changed. He would have been the father figure Anakin needed in order to battle his demons and not be seduced to the Dark Side by Darth Sidious. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

We follow Count Dooku as he confronts corruption in the Senate through a series of missions before falling to the dark side of the Force in Tales of the Jedi. In this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss: Dooku's first confrontation with a corrupt Senator while on a mission with his Padawan, Qui-Gon Jinn in Justice, Decisions made by Dooku while investigating the death of a Jedi Master that lead to the death of a Senator while on a mission with Mace Windu in Choices, and Count Dooku's clandestine activities at the Jedi Temple during the events of The Phantom Menace and how he reacts to Qui-Gon Jinn's death in Sith Lord. So this is an interesting question and one that was raised at the end of Tales of the Jedi when Dooku told Palpatine that Qui Gon could have been a powerful ally, had he not died. Sidious said, for you, and the conversation started to shift. So today, let's discuss the possibility of qui-gon actually turning away from the Jedi and joining Dooku. Now before we begin we need to understand Qui-Gon a little bit better for those new to the channel and to Star Wars. Qui-Gon was a maverick. He went his own way. He wasn't on the Jedi council by choice, he knew the decisions he made and his overall view of the force was what made him unfit in the council's eyes. For example, many fans would argue that qui-gon Jinn's use of the force to manipulate the chance cube with Watto was an act of the Dark Side, or rather, more in the middle of light and dark, grey some would call it. I always saw it as him balancing the odds since Watto's chance cube was rigged by Watto himself. Qui-Gon was all about trusting the force, and believing balance was key. This is why he would have literally been the best father figure and teacher to Anakin, preventing his whole downfall. Now, here's an excerpt from the book master and apprentice which is canon. It's a quote from qui-gon jinn to rael aveross who was once Dooku's apprentice that Qui-Gon grew close with. "I don't turn toward the light because it means someday I'll 'win' some sort of cosmic game. I turn toward it because it is the light." Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Tony Cabrera of ABC7 News was able to visit “it's a small world” overnight to see the changes taking place to prepare it for “it's a small world holiday.” On his TikTok, he can be seen walking through the flume in the attraction, which has been drained, and alking about the decorations. One interesting piece of information is that the holiday decorations are hidden behind black curtains of the attraction. “it's a small world holiday” opens on November 10th this year. To see the video, check out the link in our show notes. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/10/27/go-behind-the-scenes-of-disneylands-its-a-small-world-holiday-transformation/ January is getting closer and closer and with it the grand opening of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway! For guests to get to the attraction, some parts of Toon Town need to be completed. Currently, the walkway that leads into the land is nearing completion. The land seems to have a lot more trees planted than before as well. Gadget's Go-Coaster has been repainted, Donald's Boat is down to the metal studs on the first floor, and Goofy's Garden is well on its to becoming a play area. – https://www.micechat.com/337739-disneyland-news-the-real-nightmare-before-christmas/ Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is usually a hoppin' place to be, but even more so recently. First, a second edition Gargoyle mug was released just before Halloween. This is the fourth version of this mug to be released, the others being two from Club 33, and another Trader Sam's version. This version is glazed in teal. In addition to the tiki mug, the bar closed for two separate mixology classes at 4:4:30 pm and 7 pm. The classes were not officially announced by Disney, but word spread quickly and they sold out. The classes were $202 after tax and gratuity and taught guests how to make the new “Gothic Jungle” coctail and the “Disquieting Metamorphosis” drinks. There were also assorted eats, and one of the tiki mugs were included with the class. – https://www.micechat.com/337739-disneyland-news-the-real-nightmare-before-christmas/ Fans of Star Wars characters Count Dooku and Qui-Gon Jinn will like this next bit of news. Zack Wildman returns to the show to share three amazingly spooky creepypastas along with guest Storm Duper from Faking Star Wars. Our host Chris Higgins pitches a horror movie set in the Star Wars universe where in an alternate timeline, Obi-Wan is killed by Darth Maul instead of Qui-Gon Jinn. This change of events has significant repercussions for the Star Wars universe and leads the Jedi down a dark path. On this episode, Dominic, Ben, Chris, and Hannah break down all six episodes of Tales of the Jedi! They also talk about his relationship with Qui-Gon Jinn, and Qui-Gon's unique place among the Jedi. Then they analyze the Ahsoka stories, breaking down how these stories inform the choices she make's throughout The Clone Wars and beyond. In the new Star Wars Tales of the Jedi trailer from D23 alongside The Mandalorian Season 3 Trailer and the Andor trailer, we got to see a ton of new scenes from the show. One scene in particular was the moment where Yaddle was in The Works and was fighting Jedi Master Dooku, who was still wielding his Blue Lightsaber at this time. I believe Dooku will kill Yaddle, and that will be the reason she is no longer in the prequel trilogy, alongside Yoda. I believe Dooku will hide her true reason for defeat, and he will have to eventually leave the Jedi Order as we all know. I think this show will be one of the best new shows Star Wars has to offer us and I am very excited for it. I hope we see a ton of new character growth and development with Ahsoka while she trains with Anakin Skywalker, as well as her journey beyond Revenge of the Sith (after Clone Wars Season 7 with Darth Maul). I also can't wait to see more of young Qui-Gon Jinn! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Tales of the Jedi streams on Disney Plus October 26th and I couldn't be more exited for this animated show. Coming from the makers of The Bad Batch and The Clone Wars Season 7, this show will encompass two characters primarily, Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku in different pivotal moments of their life. We'll also see more of Yoda, Yaddle, Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, Qui-Gon Jinn and Ahsoka's continuance after Revenge of the Sith as she fights a new Inquisitor and purifies his Kyber Crystals to make her own White Blades. In Star Wars we've all seen the iconic lightsaber...however what did Sith and some Jedi use before their creation? So who created the first lightsaber? What were they? You'd be very surprised that the sabers we see Qui Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Darth Vader and Yoda use, are just the new versions of the primitive and historic first beta version of lightsabers from the Old Republic. I believe had Qui-Gon Jinn not lost to Darth Maul, he would have been the one to save Anakin from the dark side. He was the chosen one for Anakin, as Anakin was the chosen one to bring balance to the Jedi. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Could the STAR WARS ORIGINAL TRILOGY be completely remade with new actors? We discuss the possibilities. We look at the recently leaked Mandalorian Season 3 footage from Star Wars Celebration Anaheim with a shot-by-shot review. We also analyze the leaked trailer for TALES OF THE JEDI, an upcoming series of shorts featuring early stories about Ahsoka Tano, Qui Gon Jinn and Count Dooku. We have more Marcia Lucas highlights from Vice TV's “Icon Unearthed” including info about the trench run and the deleted Anchorhead scenes. Plus, San Diego Comic Con STAR WARS exclusive merch, a Tom Kane update, and more.
In Star Wars we have the Jedi and the Sith...both use the force, just opposite sides of it. However, with their similarities, comes their differences in how they harness their powers. Today we'll examine the meditation differences of Jedi and Sith in legends and canon. We'll cover Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, Palpatine, Luke Skywalker, Darth Maul and many more. PADME! Qui-Gon Jinn! Turning Anakin back! These were some things I would have liked to have seen incorporated into the fight at one point or another, where Vader would either go full rage or he'd be broken down a bit and have to talk with Obi-Wan about everything (or some things) that happened to him. In the Obi-Wan Kenobi show, Qui-Gon Jinn appears finally to Obi-Wan Kenobi at the very end, after his duel with Anakin / Vader. I see many people saying that it breaks canon from George Lucas's Star Wars, and I agree. However, now that it's in the hands of Disney, I don't mind. Their choices don't really align with George's vision anyway, so a lot of this is really just fan fiction with the original actors for me. Qui-Gon's appearance shouldn't happen, but I want it to, and I'm happy it did. What do you think? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
