"May the Force Be With You," and also May The 4th Be With You.The Holmes Brothers head back to the world of Star Wars to review The Prequel Trilogy. We're back with another Trilogies episode. The films in the trilogy include Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002) and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005). Revenge of the Sith is currently being re-released in select cinemas to coincide with its twenty year anniversary. Before the rights of LucasFilm and the world of Star Wars were sold to Disney, George Lucas came back to finish the Star Wars saga with the Prequels. Whether you like the films or not, cinema and visual effects technology caught up with Lucas's vision and he was able to tell the full story in the way that he envisioned. He could finally show Podracers, Gungans, the planet Coruscant and also show how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. There was a lot of hype and expectations around these films. Back in 1999 before the release of Episode I, people would buy tickets to other films just to see the trailer and then leave. This is way before YouTube. Today there has been a slight reappraisal of the films from some corners of cinema fans and lovers of all things Star Wars, compared to the critical bashing they all got during their original releases from fans, filmmakers and critics. The films were not as popular as the Original Trilogy. They did not receive the same love and acclaim at the time and a lot of the criticisms the films got were due to the writing, storytelling, characterisation and sometimes the VFX. Now many years later, where do you think we land on the films? Listen to the episode and find out.We hope you like this episode and stay tuned for more Trilogies episode. The next episode will be on The War Trilogy, directed by Italian filmmaker Roberto Rossellini.Be sure to check out our Monument Valley Film on our YouTube Channel, the famous location is featured briefly in one of the films.Anders's screenwriter work can also be seen in the western The Outlaws, The films is a available to watch in America , parts of Scandinavia (e.g. Denmark, Finland) & the United Kingdom on Amazon and also Apple TV. HEY EVERYONE! Corbin and Matt are starting a new series! It's called Digital Frontiers: Digital Cinema From 1998-2011, and it's about the movies' transition to digital as a primary medium, as seen in the movies that took the first steps forward. We are excited for you to join us on this journey, seeking answers to the eternal present question: "hey, why do movies look like that now?" Our first episode is about "Festen," ('The Celebration,' in English), The first certified Dogme 95 movie and an absolute banger. Topics include: the weird little camera they made it with and the heights of emotional intensity it archives, the family as a model for society, the usefulness of digital artifacts in creating an aesthetic, and skateboarding videos. Matt recommends some reading on digital cinema here. Corbin recommends Monster Hunter. Also of note for this episode, C. Claire Thompson's monograph on "Festen," available on University of Washington Prss (or a library of some sort, it's pretty expensive)! Next week's episode is about "Star Wars, Episode II: Attack of the Clones." There is a chance you've seen it but if not it's on Disney+.
The Whiskey Rebellion is back baby! This iteration brings back host Mark Radulich with new Co-Host Ronnie Adams! Tonight's topics include our All Things Star Wars Discussion. We'll discuss All the Star Wars movies, tv shows and video games.Star Wars is an American epic space opera media franchise created by George Lucas, which began with the eponymous 1977 film and quickly became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon. The franchise has been expanded into various films and other media, including television series, video games, novels, comic books, theme park attractions, and themed areas, comprising an all-encompassing fictional universe. Star Wars is one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time. The original 1977 film, retroactively subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope, was followed by the sequels Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983), forming the original Star Wars trilogy. Lucas later returned to the series to write and direct a prequel trilogy, consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005). In 2012, Lucas sold his production company to Disney, relinquishing his ownership of the franchise. This led to a sequel trilogy, consisting of Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015), Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017), and Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).All nine films, collectively referred to as the "Skywalker Saga", were nominated for Academy Awards, with wins going to the first two releases. Together with the theatrical live action "anthology" films Rogue One (2016) and Solo (2018), the combined box office revenue of the films equated to over US$10 billion, making Star Wars the third-highest-grossing film franchise of all time.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsoFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76

Simon, Steele, and Vaughn do another deep dive episode, this time on Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back. Discussion points include: our favourite moments in the film, best minor characters, and worst internet theories. And as with most episodes we do of this podcast, we can't help but discuss Episode II – Attack of the Clones.
May 2002 saw the release of the second chapter in the Skywalker saga, and Episode II : Attack of the Clones instantly rocketed to the bottom of a lot of fans' lists of their favourite five Star Wars movies. Its detractors are often quick to point at the bad dialogue, wooden acting and poor cgi, so why would Generation Skywalker dedicate a whole month to exploring a film most people are lukewarm about at best? Because we we are convinced there's more too it – things we've maybe missed and elements that certainly deserve closer examination with the hindsight of 20 years. So join us as we set the the scene, with this short episode to kick-off 31 days of shows, unboxings and social posts that will explore the best and worst of the movie and its legacy. Think you know Attack of the Clones? Think again.

Join Caroline, Nicolas and Travis for round 2 of discussing incredibly popular film franchises as they pick their favorite (and not so favorite) movies from the Star Wars Skywalker Saga. Movies discussed are: Episode I: The Phantom Menace; Episode II: Attack of the Clones; Episode III: Revenge of the Sith; Episode IV: A New Hope; Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back; Episode VI: Return of the Jedi; Episode VII: The Force Awakens; Episode VIII: The Last Jedi; Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker; Rogue One; and Solo.
A long, long time ago... an animated theatrical feature film debuted which was just the beginning of the computer-animated television series that would go on to last seven seasons. Created by George Lucas, Star Wars: The Clone Wars ran from 2008 to eventually 2020, set in the Star Wars galaxy during the three years between the prequal films Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Luke and Jae give their thoughts on the seventh and final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars that premiered on Disney+. Wrapping up with a final twelve episodes, the season consisted of three story arcs. The final season wraps up the extension of the Star Wars Saga that saw Yoda, Anakin and the Jedi Knights fighting in the Clone Wars, taking them to many new planets and introducing new players.
May the 4th be with you! It’s Star Wars Day for our US audience, but in Australia it’s already Sith Day, time for Revenge of the 5th. What better way to celebrate than by getting Dionne’s first reactions to Revenge of the Sith after she’s just seen it for the first time? We dive into the prequel trilogy but especially that final film, as well as two animated endeavours that both introduced fan-favourite villains long before they were ever seen in live-action. Darth Maul, battle droids and Qui-Gon Jinn. Dooku, clone troopers and coarse sand that gets everywhere. We preface our discussion of Episode III with a highlights tour through Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) and Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002). In the concluding season of Clone Wars: The Micro-Series (2003), the Jedi barely escape from a formidable General Grievous revealed in this series a year before his appearance on the movie screen. Grievous returns near the end of the Clone War to kidnap Chancellor Palpatine. This animated precursor to Episode III comes from visionary Genndy Tartakovsky and deepens Anakin’s tragic fall to the dark side with a detour to help the planet Nelvaan. Infamous variety show, The Star Wars Holiday Special, aired on TV in 1978 and was largely a bizarre first TV entry in the Star Wars franchise. The highlight was a 12-minute animated short, The Story of The Faithful Wookiee (1978), which introduced audiences to an animated Boba Fett, two whole years before he’d arrive in cinemas via The Empire Strikes Back (1981). Finally, we witness Order 66 and the creation of the Galactic Empire and Darth Vader in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005). We discuss Anakin Skywalker’s tragic downfall, CG Yoda, Coruscant space battles, concept art, coughs, comics, cameos, Chewbacca’s family, Cinefex, Mustafar, and the combination of breakthrough digital technology, miniature work and practical effects. Timestamps: Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) & Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (11:34) Star Wars: Clone Wars: Micro-Series (2003) (30:10) Star Wars: The Story of the Faithful Wookiee (1978) (44:24) Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005) (53:15) Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) (40:14) Follow Us: You can find us online via DIY Film School: Facebook Instagram Twitter Our Website (under construction) Subscribe on Apple Podcasts
We celebrate May the 4th with a viewing of their least favourite of the Star Wars Films, Episode II: Attack of the Clones. They discuss Hayden Christensen's upcoming appearance in Obi Wan's new show, why Padme's security officer Captain Panaka bowed out of this movie and Rose Byrne's appearance in the film (Joe said the wrong spot that she appeared but was right about her appearance). Joe reveals the genesis of CG Yoda, which actors in this film continued on through the extended Universe and the fake working title for the film. They talk about this being the final Star Wars movie on VHS in North America. They also discuss Hayden Christensen's early career including a Canadian drama that birthed a number of big careers as well as Hayden's relationship with Star Wars so many years after doing the movies. Joe makes a suggestion to improve the feasability of the relationship between Anakin and Padme by aging him up in the first movie. We give a brief history of Coruscant and look forward to the new Star Wars content, including Star Wars: Detours. Todd continues to be impressed by Joe's ability to identify Star Wars Characters. Joe tries to explain away Anakin's cadence in the film and lists a number of actors who were seen for the role, including some who are no longer with us. Joe reveals the cameos in the cantina scene and the fact that this movie had a cowriter and explains grooming to Todd and compares it to what happens in the movie. They criticize Lucas' work as a writer of romance and Joe shares his experience with cannabis. Joe explains the monk-like rules of the Jedi. They rank this film in the Skywalker Saga and Todd forgets how the clones work. They dig into the romantic scenes in the film. Joe pines for the Star Wars Sound Effect Library and talks about a creature from earlier in the film that can be found in the asteroid field. Todd questions the morality of making clones just to send them to die. Joe fills in the missing story pieces that would have better explained Anakin's journey towards the dark side in this film. The guys have a theory about one of Padme's costumes. We continue our journey through the Skywalker saga with Episode II: Attack of the Clones!
Hello there! In this exciting episode of Star Wars Wednesdays, we'll be discussing Episode II: Attack of The Clones. Join us as we talk about the themes, characters and why Lewis hates the film so so much
THX 1138 from 1971 is a bad film. Well actually it isn't that bad. It has a saggy middle act but it's visually interesting and really well edited. This was George Lucas's first proper film, the dystopian underground nightmare sees Robert Duvall and Donald Pleasance work their way out of their routine existences. We have a good old chat about George Lucas generally, and in fitting with our podcast we spend a long time talking about Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace and Episode II Attack of the Clones. Join Gary & Jay as they review the film. In turn please review us on your podcast platform of choice. Please tell us what you thought of this film! As has become established MovieFilm tradition, a new Star Wars movie in theaters means a new Star Wars commentary track from us! For this go-round we continue our journey through the polarizing prequel trilogy of films and talk through 2002's Episode II - Attack of the Clones. This is generally considered one of the weaker entries in George Lucas' legendary saga, but we make a good faith effort to point out what works and ways in which we might have improved what didn't. So whether you watch along with us or just listen while you go about your day, hopefully you'll find enough of interest here to clone (ahem) the excitement you felt before actually watching the movie. This week, we return to a galaxy far, far away for our second critical conversation about the infamous Star Wars prequels, this time diving deep with Episode II - Attack of the Clones. Perhaps the most maligned and dismissed of the Star Wars films, Attack of the Clones is, like The Phantom Menace before it, a much better film than its reputation would assert, a 'grown-up' Star Wars movie full of complicated ideas and nuanced character work. It also represents a major inflection point in the history of digital cinema, and remains one of the most visually stunning blockbusters ever created. Once again, this was a fun and engaging topic to record, and we think you'll enjoy it. We also talk a little more about some recent games, including Dragon Ball FighterZ, walk through some recent gaming news, and give thoughts on all the movie trailers from Super Bowl Sunday, including our first look at Solo: A Star Wars Story.
