The Calgary Wild made a big splash this week by signing Calgarian Mya Jones to a contract. Jones is considered one of the best women's soccer players the city has ever produced. We talk about her potential impact both on and off the pitch. The Wild signed former Montreal Rose Allie Hess and introduced their new goalkeeping coach, who makes the move from Spruce Meadows to McMahon Stadium. Meanwhile, Cavalry FC announced their own new goalkeeping coach and a tryout for a Ukrainian right back who fled the war and has been living in Edmonton. We also have info about Wild and Cavalry call ups for the international window. Our interview this week is with Daler Tokhirov. Tokhirov played last season in Australia and has now signed for Petone FC in New Zealand. We ask about what it's like to make this big move and what his career aspirations are over the long term.We also have updates on a few more players, including Bim Pepple and his fantastic form in England where he's scored 6 goals in his last 8 matches.Subscribe to our Substack or follow us on Twitter/X or on Instagram or Bluesky. Our website is yycsoccer.com
