Ryan Marcus is an award-winning director, filmmaker, and editor based out of the Orange County, CA. Originally with ambitions of becoming a professional skateboarder, Ryan eventually found his way behind the camera and a job at the iconic 411 Video Magazine. After his tenure at 411, Ryan moved onto DVS where he was responsible for one of the most progressive and forward-thinking motocross commercial ever done in the sport entitled, DVS Flux, with the GEICO Honda team. Eventually, Ryan spent 10+ at Fox as the head of their video department, producing, directing, shooting, and editing projects such as Alway5 with Ryan Dungey, RISE ABOVE with Ken Roczen, Deadman Walking with Justin Mulford, and much more. Now, Ryan is heading up a new studio project at Skullcandy where they are giving back to creatives with a very unique (and free) creative space called Skullcandy Studios in Costa Mesa, CA. For all my creatives out there, this is a must listen. Ryan Marcus shares so many wonderful stories about his experiences in the skate and moto industries, his strengths and weaknesses, and so much more. Ryan is a true creative through and through and I hope all enjoy this conversation. Also, visit us on Patreon for a bonus episode with Ryan where we breakdown his project with Ryan Dungey, Split Decision, where he made Ryan Dungey's KTM 450 disappear while going through set of Supercross whoops. The previous ending of that relationship was not good, but Jeremy needed a new home after GEICO Honda closed, and he knows the Star YZ250F is a great bike. Jason Weigandt chats with Jeremy about the GEICO shutdown, signing with his old team, and why he didn't take the offer from Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki or Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull GasGas. Presented by Fly Racing This week's episode of the Fly Racing Swapmoto Podcast is an hour long talk with RJ Hampshire. These last few months have been massive for RJ, as he left the GEICO Honda team with a year remaining on his contract to join Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's 250 program. It was a deal that many knew about during the summer months, but per RJ, the ink wasn't dry until the last race of the nationals. The team change has had a major impact on Hampshire's life, because it comes with a spot in Aldon Baker's training program alongside Anderson, Webb, Musquin, and Osborne. To make the most of the opportunity, Hampshire has made the hour plus move from his home in Wesley Chapel Florida to Clermont, and has spent the past few weeks doing everything on bakers schedule to be ready for the East coast kick off of the Supercross season. As you'll hear, Hampshire is already seeing physical changes thanks to the intensity of the workouts and the diet.Hampshire was widely expected to be a constant contender in the 250 when he was signed to GEICO Honda, but things didn't go the way he and the team anticipated due to injuries or performance issues with the CRF250R. All is still good between the rider and the team, something RJ made clear when the topic of getting out of the contract came up, and that's a rare thing in our sport. But with a bike that suits his riding style and increased confidence, it's clear that he has his eye on a title in 2020.

Nineteen-year-old Hunter Lawrence will make his American Supercross debut in February at the Minneapolis kickoff of the Eastern Regional 250 Supercross Championship alongside teammates Christian Craig and Chase Sexton. Jeremy Martin is now an established player in this sport, with two 250 National Motocross Championships and a long-term deal with GEICO Honda. When he was younger, though, he bounced through the amateur ranks looking for his shot and kept training and preparing harder and harder so he would be ready when that day came. He was always prepared, and he's now known as one of the sport's hardest-working and most focused riders. Unfortunately, all that work has been put on hold due to a devastating back injury he suffered in June at the Muddy Creek National—just when he seemed to be at the peak of his powers. In this edition of the Racer X Exhaust Podcast, Jason Weigandt spends an hour with Jeremy talking about his background, his motivation, and what comes next, both in his comeback from injury and also his thoughts on life after racing.  The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura.

Hunter Lawrence and his family aren't exactly sure why they had to do it they way they did, but they knew they had to do it. Australia's Hunter and his younger brother Jett spent three years racing in Europe before moving to the U.S. under the idea that time in Europe would make them better racers here. This decision looks brilliant now, after Team USA took a shellacking at the Motocross of Nations, leading many to think that racing through Europe's diverse tracks and conditions helps build special skills. Now Hunter and his brother are officially members of the GEICO Honda team (Jett will race amateurs in 2019). Did they put themselves on the right path? We'll find out once the races begin, but for now we can tell you that Hunter seems like a good dude. We rang him up this week to talk about his transition and his background. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is brought to you by Yoshimura.

Team Honda HRC’s Ken Roczen silenced all the doubters after his latest injury seemed like even too much for the iron-willed German to overcome, but Kenny is back with a vengeance and has been battling up front since his return. We’ll hear all about that journey back tonight. Monster Energy Yamaha’s Cooper Webb made his long-awaited return at Southwick after a gnarly leg injury had him sidelined since supercross. We always enjoy having our southern neighbor on the show and look forward to catching up tonight. GEICO Honda’s RJ Hampshire has recorded some solid moto results this summer but is still looking for the consistency for that overall that shows all the hard work they’re putting in during the week. It’s been too long since we last had RJ on the show and have a ton to cover to make up for that. Exhaust #17: Humble Roots with Justin Brayton

We all know Justin Brayton didn't do it like others did. Brayton wasn't an amateur star, and as a teenager he had zero thoughts about actually making a living in the sport. He just loved dirt bikes, and he loved doing the work, so he kept improving, and it all worked out. But while we all know that about Brayton, do we actually know what his bizarre path really looked like? In this episode of the Racer X Exhaust Podcast, Brayton talks about him humble roots riding in Iowa, from not even having dirt bikes for part of his youth to riding so badly that he was literally a lapper at the local level. From there to here, it's been quite a road for the Smartop/Bullfrog Spas/MotoConcepts Honda rider and 2018 Daytona Supercross winner. While talking to Brayton, we also ran into a next-generation kid with very similar Iowa roots, Cameron McAdoo, who is trying to find his footing as a pro with GEICO Honda. For McAdoo—heck, for everyone—Brayton's is an inspiring story, and he tells it in this episode. The Racer X Exhaust Podcast is presented by Yoshimura.

AutoTrader.com/Yoshimura Suzuki’s Justin Hill made his first podium of the year in Oakland and has seemed to find the groove we all expected the defending 250SX West Region champ to have at the beginning of the season. Justin has owned the early struggles and is never one to make excuses so we look forward to hearing about the turnaround from the man himself. GEICO Honda’s Chase Sexton has been holding his own against a stacked field of veteran 250 riders, including an impressive podium in Houston. We’re glad the fans finally get to see some of his potential after an unfortunate string of injuries delayed this amateur superstar from making the jump to the pros. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Bobby Hewitt is one of the most powerful men in the pits but prefers to stay out of the spotlight of his very successful team. He doesn’t give interviews very often so were pumped he decided to give us some time tonight to discuss the team, sport and how much the Dallas Cowboys suck. It would be easy to miss the Blake “Prince” Wharton coming out of retirement news with the Super Bowl and Space X rocket launch and stuff, but this is pretty exciting news for us. Blake will be contesting the Monster Energy 250SX East Region Championship aboard a Munn Racing Husqvarna and we couldn’t be happier for him. It’s always a pleasure to have the multitalented Texas native on and we can’t wait to hear how all this came about.
