This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! Some people call it one of the most haunted towns in America: Rugby, Tennessee, nestled in the quiet corners of Northeast Tennessee. Founded in 1880 by the renowned author Thomas Hughes, Rugby was envisioned as a Utopian village, a beacon of harmonious living. However, Hughes' dreams were dashed, and tragedy struck when typhoid fever claimed the lives of many early inhabitants. Today, Rugby stands frozen in time, its Victorian charm preserved amidst the rolling hills and whispers of the past. Its population is just 75, perhaps more if you count the spirits that allegedly linger among its quaint streets. For those intrigued by the paranormal, Rugby offers an irresistible invitation. Here, the veil between the worlds is said to be thin, with hauntings reported in almost every building in this tiny town where the past is alive, and the spirits roam freely. Today on The Grave Talks, we explore the ghosts of the Historic Rugby Village with Miranda Young. This is Part Two of our conversation. For more information on Rugby, visit their website at historyhighwayshaunts.com or find them on Facebook at Historic Rugby After Dark. In This Episode of Fallen Hour's Halloween Season Cdale Enick and Markus sit down with Miranda Young to discuss the paranormal. "Miranda has always been interested in the paranormal for as long as she can remember. As a child, you could find her in the library reading books about ghosts and folklore, or visiting with her grandmother who would often share stories about growing up in the Appalachian Mountains. Miranda began investigating with a team in 2013 and continued with them until 2018. Her role on the team consisted of photo analyst, video/audio evidence producer and marketing specialist, as well as investigator. While fully involved with the team, she found that in her spare time, she was traveling and exploring a great deal on her own. She would often take photos of these locations and share them on her Facebook page. These photos started to get a lot of attention and people began messaging her and asking what the stories were behind these images. This is how Ghost Biker Explorations was born. Because Miranda is out on her bike taking photos every chance she gets and doing little investigations, she thought why not chronicle these adventures through video? Miranda loves investigating the big locations, but through this project, she discovered that every little town has a ghost story that the citizens have heard all their lives, or an abandoned location that they drive by every day. Her goal is to visit these towns, spotlight the areas, tell the story and either investigate the location or explore it." You can Find Mirandas work by following the links below! In this edition of Unexplained Inc. we are joined by someone who put their passions of motorcycle riding, photography and the paranormal all together and created Ghost Biker Expeditions. Her name is Miranda Young and she is a business partner of former Unexplained guest Dr. Kristy Sumner. Miranda joins us from the Scott County Jail near Huntsville, Tennessee where she works. In this episode she talks about their current offerings / activities and explains that spirit activity is very lively in that place. Although she didn't have any paranormal experiences growing up she has a fascinating story involving her elementary school that was allegedly haunted. She also explains the spiritual side of being a biker and how it has helped her grow her business and its tie ins to paranormal investigation.Perhaps the best part of this is show is how Miranda explains that her travel expeditions led her to uncover a treasure trove of hidden haunts that few outside of their selected counties even knew about. Also hear what kind of tricks she has up her sleeve to communicate with spirits...it may surprise you!Check out Ghostbiker Explorations here:https://ghostbikerexp.wixsite.com/ghostbikerFacebookhttps://www.facebook.com/GhostBikerExplorations/Youtubehttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrV-jF-MIL1xRU6Iyoo1qFQ?
In 2014, Dr. Kristy Sumner coupled her passion for travel, history and the paranormal when she formed Soul Sisters Paranormal, an all-female team, made up of Sumner, her two sisters and two friends. As a team of 5 investigators, Soul Sisters Paranormal traveled to some of the most historic and, reportedly, haunted location in the U.S. in an attempt to determine for themselves if spirit activity does exist and to highlight the rich history of each location The team traveled to and investigated at numerous US locations, including: the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum (WV), The Lizzie Borden House (MA), the Villisca Ax Murder House (IA), the St. Augustine Lighthouse (FL), Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary (TN) and many others. In 2020, Soul Sisters Paranormal moved to a two-investigator format, with only Kristy and her twin sister, Dr. Jenny Sumner, conducting the paranormal investigations. As a two-person team, they have investigated at the Attala County Jail (MS), the Old Southern Funeral Home (MS), the Grand Old Lady Hotel (NC), and the Hamilton County Jail (FL). Prior to forming Soul Sister Paranormal, Kristy, who holds a PhD in Public Affairs with an emphasis on Criminal Justice, was a senior director for a Registered Traveler company focused on biometric clearances for the traveling public, she was a senior consultant for a biometric credentialing company, and she was college professor at Metro State College of Denver and the University of Central Florida. Jenny, who also holds a PhD in Public Affairs, is currently a director at the University of Central Florida. For more information visit: www.soulsistersparanormal.com Further, Kristy, founder of Soul Sisters Paranormal, and Miranda, founder of Ghost Biker Explorations, have joined forces to form a new business called "History, Highways, and Haunts, LLC". This business will operate out of the Historic Scott County Jail in Huntsville, TN, and will include a museum, ghost walks, ghost tours, and paranormal investigations. For more information, please visit www.HistoricScottCoJail.comIn this episode we discuss:* Kristy's interest in History and the drive behind becoming a paranormal investigator* Equipment used* If she really believes in ghosts* Her thoughts on the afterlife* Can you be a religious person and still believe in ghosts?* What ARE ghosts exactly? How do they get stuck here? And so much more!
