Il photographie la brume, les pierres, les ruines, les seuils — pas pour “prouver” quoi que ce soit, mais pour suggérer. Pour laisser au lieu sa part de secret, et à nous, notre part d'imaginaire.Dans cet entretien, on remonte à l'enfance : la lumière qui change, les saisons, une grange un peu fantomatique… puis les contes, le fantastique, et cette manière très Bruce de “révéler” des lieux ordinaires, à condition de ralentir assez pour les entendre.On parle aussi de sa pratique : la musique comme outil d'ambiance, l'instinct du premier cliché (souvent le plus juste), et surtout une valeur qui compte autant que l'image : le respect. Leah Lothringer is a 40-year-old Australian living in Washington DC and working in IT strategy. She was on a business trip in the United States with no family or connections when COVID-19 broke out in 2020 and was legally forbidden from returning to Australia for more than a year! She ended up meeting her significant other and remained here, only to receive a diagnosis for a rare aggressive cancer that was cured in 2023. She's also connected to death through her life-long hobby of identifying, visiting and photographing abandoned buildings all over the world (the older, more distressed, and haunted, the better). He was introduced to the paranormal at the Waverly Hills Sanatorium in 2010, where a ghostly encounter on his very first day made him realize that there's more to this world than we can see. You can follow his adventures on his YouTube channel, Urban Investigator, and social media channels.   Urban exploration (often shortened as UE, urbex, and sometimes known as roof and tunnel hacking) is the exploration of manmade structures, usually abandoned ruins or hidden components of the manmade environment. Photography and historical interest/documentation are heavily featured in the hobby, sometimes involving trespassing onto private property. Urban exploration is also called draining (a specific form of urban exploration where storm drains or sewers are explored), urban spelunking, urban rock climbing, urban caving, building hacking, or mousing. The activity presents various risks, including physical danger and, if done illegally and/or without permission, the possibility of arrest and punishment.
