Il photographie la brume, les pierres, les ruines, les seuils — pas pour “prouver” quoi que ce soit, mais pour suggérer. Pour laisser au lieu sa part de secret, et à nous, notre part d'imaginaire.Dans cet entretien, on remonte à l'enfance : la lumière qui change, les saisons, une grange un peu fantomatique… puis les contes, le fantastique, et cette manière très Bruce de “révéler” des lieux ordinaires, à condition de ralentir assez pour les entendre.On parle aussi de sa pratique : la musique comme outil d'ambiance, l'instinct du premier cliché (souvent le plus juste), et surtout une valeur qui compte autant que l'image : le respect. Leah Lothringer is a 40-year-old Australian living in Washington DC and working in IT strategy. She was on a business trip in the United States with no family or connections when COVID-19 broke out in 2020 and was legally forbidden from returning to Australia for more than a year! She ended up meeting her significant other and remained here, only to receive a diagnosis for a rare aggressive cancer that was cured in 2023. She's also connected to death through her life-long hobby of identifying, visiting and photographing abandoned buildings all over the world (the older, more distressed, and haunted, the better).
