Richard Perkins Hsung was born in China in 1966 and was one of the first teens to leave China legally after Mao's Cultural Revolution. He earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Chicago and became a professor at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, retiring in 2022. He spent ten years editing and completing Spring Flower (Earnshaw Books) by his mother, Jean Tren-Hwa Perkins, MD. Jean Tren-Hwa Perkins was born unwanted during the 1931 Yangtze River Flood, adopted by medical missionaries, brought to the US for a few years, then trapped in Communist China. She was neither American nor Chinese "enough," yearning for acceptance and home her whole life. The Chinese immigrant experience, especially for women, is often overlooked and deserves to be told. Bridging two centuries, this story brings to life themes of displacement, hope, and a woman's coming of age, and brings history to life. The three-volume memoir chronicles her life as an adopted child of American medical missionaries, survivor of China's brutal communist regime, ophthalmologist, immigrant, and mother.

With an amazing life story full of twists of fate, actress and model Louise Ashby is a remarkable woman who, facing monumental obstacles beat the odds. The radical changes that Louise was forced to endure did not dis-empower her. To the contrary, she steadfastly pursued her lifelong goals and found success. This story is one of strength and hope, an affirmation of human willpower in the face of tragedy. After tragedy and a life altering accident that took her face, Louise attributes her healing and return to her life to the tools and practices she had to develop in order to do what the doctors said wasn't possible. Some of these were daily meditations and visualizations of herself as “whole and healthy.” All of her seven doctors told her it wasn't possible but she wouldn't take no for an answer and continued visualizing. Today her doctors use her story when they lecture, about how she didn't have room for doubt in her recovery and that is why she is in the position she's in. Her face is fixed and her spirit strong.Today Louise is working on her new coaching programs helping women transform their lives as well as guiding them through challenges and how their mindset matters. For years, Kanzer felt like a failure, unable to hustle hard enough to “make it,” either as an actress or in the rat race. Her childhood as a Russian immigrant in post-Cold War America heightened her insecurity and threatened her identity, desperate as she was to fit into a culture that was alien at best and hostile at worst. This loss and eventual reclamation of her sense of self sent her on a spiritual journey during which she discovered the Tao Te Ching, which changed everything for her. The Tao taught her that there was power in stillness, and that all struggles come bearing gifts if you know how to recognize them. Her message will connect with listeners desperate to find grounding as we move into a new year with filled with trepidation and no guarantees of a return to normalcy. During our interview, we discuss:·. Redefining your definition of success·. How to say no without guilt ·. How to trust their intuition and inner voice whenever doubts creep in ·. How losing sight of your true identity can be a gift (as long as you find it again)·. How the Tao can cure you of perfectionism and people-pleasing tendencies ·. Why it's important to continue to embrace stillness, even amidst a push to return to “normal” following the pandemicFor more on Jessie and her book:web: jessiekanzer.comfb: jessiekanzerinsta: @jessiekanzertwitter: @JessieKanzer

Corbie Mitleid is a psychic, channel and medium, reading since 1973. She travels coast to coast and into Canada as a full time intuitive counselor, appeared frequently on radio and television and is an inspirational teacher and facilitator. She is a featured channel in Robert Schwartz's breakthrough series, YOUR SOUL'S PLAN, YOUR SOUL'S GIFT and YOUR SOUL'S LOVE, and is herself the author of CLEAN OUT YOUR LIFECLOSET, THE PSYCHIC YELLOW BRICK ROAD and YOU'VE GOT THE MAGIC, WHO NEEDS A GENIE? Corbie has always been “the different one.” A writer and visionary in a completely medical family (father a doctor, mother a nurse, brother a doctor), she has always made her own path rather than take one cut for her by others. Leaving an Ivy League university after two years, Corbie struck out to find where joy and purpose lived, regardless of what she was told she “ought” to do. The path wasn't easy. Two marriages, which didn't last, and a constant search for the Partner Who Understood. A succession of jobs. A series of spiritual paths. Moving from Cambridge to Philadelphia to Poughkeepsie to New York City to Atlanta. Out of the blue, breast cancer—not once, but three times. Life became a roller coaster with no brakes, asking Corbie to survive divorce, abuse, poverty and life-threatening illness. But through all of this, she learned the value of the Examined Life: meeting challenges and always asking the next question, facing each new situation with strength, courage and humor. Today, Corbie brings a full toolbox to her job as a beacon of manifestation and vision for her clients. She knows what it is to create a career out of experiences. While she's now a full-time intuitive counselor and inspirational speaker, her career has encompassed positions as a published author, a professional actress, a television producer, a radio personality, an executive recruiter and the “power behind the throne” for a number of high-profile CEOs. Corbie's career now spans the globe, with clients worldwide. Her talents as an intuitive are featured in bestselling books. Still, her clients treasure her attitude of I'm not special, you can do what I do. “We have opportunities we can go after, and challenges to get past,” she says firmly. “My job is to give you the tools and courage to deal with both situations. Everything else is free will, and up to you!” Corbie lives in upstate New York with her husband Carle, a professional historian, two large and exuberant Maine Coon cats and one pocket rocket of a ginger tabby rescued from a Bronx crack house. Dr. Renee is a double board certified doctor who has been working with women for over 20 years and due to her own personal health challenges, she stepped outside the box of conventional medicine to take a radically different approach to heal herself from the deep depths of burnout. About a decade ago, Dr. Renee was living what she thought was her dream life; she was an extremely busy Ob/Gyn, married to a doctor, with toddler twins and had moved to a quaint, quiet town in the country. One day in May 2012, Dr. Renee fell off of her horse during a riding lesson and broke her back. She not only struggled with severe back pain, but with fatigue and the inability to focus. Her doctor diagnosed her with depression, but her symptoms did not improve after trying two different antidepressants. Two years after her injury, Dr. Renee was still struggling with unexplained symptoms. After exhausting all of her options in the conventional healthcare system, she was put in contact with a doctor who was an “anti-aging” practitioner (more on that in the interview). She finally received the appropriate diagnosis, her symptoms resolved and she got back on her feet and joined the world of functional medicine. In August 2019, Dr. Renee started Kaspira Elite Health Consulting, LLC. Throughout her journey she has certainly faced her fair share of obstacles and has mastered the art of leaping into transitions with each pivot. Now Dr. Renee empowers women to take control of their health, jumpstart their energy, improve their confidence, and reignite their libido!
