IT'S THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF RETURN OF THE JEDI, AND A BATCH OF NEW COMICS GIVE NEW STORIES! For ep 128, Mike delves into the first 3 comics that tie-in with Return Of The Jedi; Jabba's Palace, Ewoks & Lando! Jabba's Palace shows a conspiracy where someone tries to take over from Jabba, Ewoks features 3 stories without dialogue that Ewoks tell each other around the campfire while in Lando, he & Chewie attempt to find full schematics of Jabba's Palace, so they can plan a break-in to save Han! There will be 5 more comics released across the year, which Mike will delve into later in 2023. Jabba's Palace 1 was released on March 29th 2023 and was written by Marc Guggenheim, with Alessandro Miracolo as artist and Dee Cunniffe as colour artist. Ewoks was released April 12th 2023, was written by Alyssa Wong and had multiple artists; Lee Garbett, Java Tartaglia, Paulina Ganucheau, Kyle Hotz, Rachelle Rosenberg & Casper Wijngaard. Like many kids of the 80s, after seeing the Ewoks make their appearance in Return of the Jedi, we couldn't get enough of them! Luckily there were the made for TV movies that came out all about Ewoks starting in 1984, with Ewok Adventure: Caravan of Courage and we were hooked! It's been a good 30 years since we've seen this movie, and wow what a nostalgic gem. Sure, Mace is an annoying loser and they maybe didn't get into some major plot points as much as they could have, but holy shit was that Gorax scary AF! We'll go over key words to learn in Ewokenese to impress your friends (Lurdo!), try to figure out WHY the Gorax was keeping Mace and Cindel's parents in a bone cage, and get to the bottom of his various accessories.

George Lucas's story for this made-for-TV spin-off from the Star Wars films involves a spacecraft that crash lands on Endor. The mother and father spend the film looking for their two children, a fourteen-year-old named Mace Towani and his four-year-old sister, Cindel, not knowing that they've been taken in by the kindly Ewoks whose village lies a bit of a distance away from the crash site. Cindel befriends the Ewoks instantly, but Mace is not too sure about their intentions, concentrating more on finding the monstrous, ax-wielding Gorax might have captured the whereabouts of their parents, who the Ewoks begin to suspect. They set about building a caravan to head to the Gorax lair on the hope they can rescue the parents before it's too late.

Q&A COUNCIL[8:40]   We visited Susan Walker’s Families and Technology class at the University of Minnesota again a couple weeks ago. The college students had a bunch of questions for us, but we didn’t get to most of them during class. So we’re taking the opportunity this week (and possibly next week) to answer those questions! Of course, most of the questions are about us as a family and also how our use of technology affects our relationships with each other and the world at large.One of the questions serves as a Stump the Lump question.We also take a break from answering questions to hear Liam sing and play a Star Wars song on guitar.
