Two women, one from the 1890s and one from the 1970s, are discovered dead with no culprit to be found. What do these cases have in common? Ghosts. That's right. This case is the first and only time in U.S history that evidence from a ghost was admissible in the murder trial. Elva Zona Heaster Shue was married to the blacksmith in town, Erasmus “Edward” Stribbling Trout Shue. At first he seemed like a wonderful guy: charming, had good stories to tell, wooed her off her feet. Then as soon as they were married, things changed drastically and in the coming months more would be found out about this Edward character and more about Zona's death.Check out this great resource on the case:The Haunting of Zona Heaster Shue by Nancy Richmond & Misty Murray-WalkupSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The court case of a lifetime is presented in this week's episode! It isn't often that we hear about ghostly testimony being allowed in a courtroom, but in the case of the Greenbriar Ghost, that's exactly what happened. Join us as we go through the fascinating case where a ghost helped convict her murderer. We also have two listener tales where one lady comes face-to-face with a murder victim, and the other is filled with a ghost that apparently loves to watch TV. We finish out the episode with a cryptid that is definitely a monster and 100% an a-hole. Show: You Tube's ParanormalEpisode: The Greenbriar Ghost Welcome to episode #1 of the acclaimed and universally celebrated Halloween Series Specials!Witches, broomsticks, spiderwebs, eye of newt and all the things that Sarah and Megan keep in their messy, shitty homes help us celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. Our first special episode takes us to the glitzy, bright lights of West Virginia....wait. Anyway, we are also going back in time to 1897, a time when women were free to vote, own property and have their own checkbook......wait. The Greenbriar Ghost is a ghost story involving love, loss and murder. It also has a legal first, a ghost testifies in court. This tale of revenge from beyond the grave has fascinated people for centuries. Megan and Sarah dive in by watching a "well-produced" and "professional" You- Tube video self produced by a man named McCracken. Not that McCracken, a different one. This week we have another murder with a spectral twist. The story of the Greenbriar Ghost has it all: murder, secrets, people named after fish, high collared dresses, and oh yeah, a ghost leading everyone to her killer. In 1890s West Virginia the ghost of Elva Zone Heaster popped up to say she'd been murdered and figured heavily in the killer's trial. This is a truly one of a kind story, so press play and enjoy! A house haunted by a mother's yearning for excitement is the setting for Andrea Robertson's "The Greenbriar Ghost". Named for a woman whose ghost does haunt the narrator's Southern town, Zona tries to find her own place in a world of signs and warnings, messages from beyond, and the sometimes more troubling messages from within her own family.
