A Kiwi app is going up against Spotify. Instead of focusing on songs, playlists, and subscriptions, Lume is built around albums – allowing fans to buy digital “box sets” containing the album, bonus audio, video, artwork, and photography. A majority of the revenue goes directly to the artists and their partners. Chris Schulz joined Jack Tame to share his thoughts on the new platform. We're going to start the show talking music because a new music streaming platform is being launched but this one is locally owned and says it wants to give musicians a bigger slice of the pie. It's called Lume and has got a who's who of New Zealanders behind it, and investing in it, including singer Lorde. The platform will let fans buy digital albums bundled with bonus content including exclusive audio, video, artwork and photography. Local artist Geneva AM backs the news and she joins Jesse. Tell you what I'm loving about this new, New Zealand-made music app that's been unveiled: predominantly, it's the confidence these guys have that this thing is going to work—and that it's going to go global. Now, if you haven't caught up on it, let me get you across the details. The app is called Lume and it's going to launch, I think, in the next couple of weeks or something like that. On Lume, you're not going to be able to stream music like you do on Spotify. Instead, you'll buy albums—and then you'll own those albums. They'll come with some extra stuff as well, if you're a real music nerd—bonus material, that sort of thing. You're not going to pay a monthly subscription; you're going to pay $25 an album. Now, I don't know if this is going to work but I think there's a really good chance. I mean, it's got some very smart people behind it. Duncan Greive, for example, who started The Spinoff at a time when everybody else in the media was in retreat—he's very clever at seeing small gaps in the market and then exploiting them. He's got financial backing from the guy who founded Substack. He's got backing from the guy who co-founded Letterboxd. He's got backing from Lorde. It's launching right at a time when people are complaining about the AI slop being fed to them by Spotify and the weird algorithms that now determine what music we hear. It's being launched at a time when young people are nostalgic for owning things instead of just streaming them—when artists are complaining they don't get enough money from streamers like Spotify. This will give them much, much more money and it will give fans a chance to support artists financially. And it's coming at a time when Spotify has jacked up its price again, in a never-ending series of small increases that just end up costing heaps every month. So there is a chance it could work. I mean, I think it's going to be a smaller, die-hard fan market than the big, lazy, “press a button and listen to music” Spotify market—but it could work. But what I love most about it is that the guys building this really believe it will work. They're already talking about taking it global—not in a “maybe one day” way but in a “we're starting in New Zealand, next Australia, then the US and the UK” way. They're already workshopping what they'll do with problematic artists like Michael Jackson, R. Kelly and Kanye West because they think it's going to get to that. They are confident it's going to work. They're already preparing. I love that. I reckon that kind of confidence is sometimes the difference between whether something is successful or not. And I reckon here in New Zealand, we could do with a lot more of that big thinking. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Music streaming platforms may dominate the music market, but there is still a love of an album - and the extra experience that comes with purchasing a physical release from an artist you love. At least that's the hope of a new platform coming online in the coming weeks. Co-founder of Lume, Sacha Judd spoke to John Campbell.

This is NOT medical advice: Actinos guidance is leading-edge in the CIRS space, but they share what has worked for them and members of The CIRS Group. For skin, they discuss Defense soap, lava soap, Selsun Blue, Lume acidifying wash, and Johnson's Baby Shampoo (noting dryness/irritation tradeoffs), plus probiotic lotion for localized issues. For laundry, they recommend washing clothing after one wear, and frequently washing bedding, pillows, and towels. For the home, they advise using a sealed HEPA vacuum broadly (walls, furniture, mattress, woven items), dry and damp dusting (including walls with a wet Swiffer), and using masks. If you feel overwhelmed, try breaking cleaning into manageable chunks, and consider help from cleaners, friends, or family. In this high-stakes session from the Retail Collective Summit, industry titans from Lovesac, Purple, TruFru, Perk Energy, Lume, T-ROC, and TPH Global Solutions pull back the curtain on one of the most challenging and rewarding retail environments in the world: Costco. The panel explores the strategic shift from a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) focus to a true Omni-channel presence. The discussion moves beyond simple placement, diving into the "Costco Language," the "Treasure Hunt" psychology of their shoppers, and the brutal operational discipline required to survive a 12-week roadshow or a full-time pallet rotation. Key Executive Insights: The "Costco Language": Why you need experts who speak the internal dialect of Costco to navigate their unique promotion and rotation systems. The Treasure Hunt Experience: How to design packaging and products that create a "get it before it's gone" urgency. Operational Discipline: The reality of managing massive inventory volumes, pallet configurations, and the "last three feet" of the sales floor. The Roadshow Secret: How Lovesac and Purple utilize roadshows not just for sales, but as a massive customer acquisition tool that drives traffic back to their own stores and websites. Relationship Management: The importance of internal advocacy and understanding that a Costco buyer's promotion can change your entire brand trajectory overnight. Panel Participants: David Schmidt (CEO | President, TPH Global Solutions) Brian Kava (President, T-ROC) Shawn Nelson (CEO, Lovesac) Rena Dolman (Founder/Owner, Perk Energy) Jared Olsen (VP Sales, Purple) Dan Griffiths (CEO, Lume) Taz Murray (Co-Founder, TruFru) Whether you are looking to scale into wholesale or optimize your current retail footprint, this panel provides the definitive playbook for winning in Big Box retail.
Some people do their best thinking on a walk. Me? I do my best thinking in the shower. So I was thinking in the shower about how "The Most Interesting Man in the World" is back — yes, that guy, Jonathan Goldsmith, returning as the Dos Equis spokesperson after a ten-year hiatus, now with a funny "amnesia" twist and a whole lot of nostalgia. And while I do appreciate a sexy, wise older gentleman with an open collar and a "stay thirsty, my friends" vibe, my shower thoughts flowed to this thought: "Okay… but where is the campaign for "The Most Interesting WOMAN in the World?" Who the heck is SHE? Because if we're being honest, she's probably not lounging around with a beer plotting her next adventure. She may be plotting but she's got a 'sh*tload of things to finish first before cracking open a beer or pouring a glass of wine or doing whatever relaxes her. So WHO IS SHE? By Jove I thought to myself, "The Most Interesting WOMAN in the World" is… WE! WE meaning – all the women over 50 (and there are plenty I tell ya!) with wisdom, passion and purpose —out there in the world 'still in the game', who've been there, done that, – and are still swinging against all odds most days. I was thinking, SHE likely has wrinkles, uses reading glasses, has a very busy brain, likely has a demanding job or business or demanding caretaking obligation. And most likely has a huge heart that still puts everyone else first. Hmmm. Sounds a lot like me. Sound like you? Or someone you know? Oh - and she buys a boatload of stuff. Like Me. "The Most Interesting Woman in the World". Hmmm. She's the woman who: might not have a giant social media following… but has massive word-of-mouth power buys everything for everybody (herself, the household, the kids, the grandkids, the nieces, the nephews… and probably the neighbor) is old-school but open to new things (especially if they promise better health, more energy, fewer annoyances or promise to make her look younger.) "The Most Interesting WOMAN in the World" Takes Risks! Yes, she does! So who am I not to? Especially since I'm the one always pushing others to: "Risk It! or Regret It! I decided to RISK turning on my phone camera to record an opening segment of my radio show on 'video' as well as audio, so you could SEE what you usually don't when I do my live radio show. Yup, you can see how I talk with my hands and see the products I brought in from my house for 'show and tell' on the air that day. It was not a comfortable decision. I've been avoiding video. I do not love my looks these days, but I did it. And now I'm cool because I created a live radio show, that's partially on video, that's also a podcast, and has been turned into short media clips for other social media channels to drive back to the full video opening of my radio show on You Tube, that may encourage people to go and listen to the rest of the audio of my podcast - and maybe tune in live to the radio show. Full disclosure: All this effort did not burn a calorie. The live radio show is easy. I've been doing live radio so long I could do it in my sleep. It's all the other new pieces of the media pie - the audio /podcast /video/blog /social media puzzle, that takes quite an effort. I'll tell ya this much. AI filters are much cheaper than Botox, and figuring all this out was mentally exhausting. HOWEVER! "WE… "The Most Interesting Women In the World" cannot stay interesting… if we do not embrace new knowledge and take new risks! Ok so …For fun I brought some products from my house to the radio studio that "The Most Interesting WOMAN in the World" might own for 'show and tell'. Centrum Women 50+ MultiGummy (because we're doing our best to not fall apart like cheap patio furniture) Saline nasal spray (a product we somehow didn't grow up with but now feels like a household essential. Who knew. Right?) Lume deodorant 72-hour protection! (Once I got past the initial awkward TV commercial with the Founder focusing on where else this stuff can make me smell nice - I decided to just get on board for the 72 hours under my arms so I'd have one less thing to worry about - just in case I forgot.) A gadgety little YCZ Electric Massage Pro eye tool my daughter politely gave me as a gift to try and HELP me. (warm, glowy, red light-ish… fine fine we're trying new things!) Costco Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil (because it's a BIG bottle of quality olive oil that tastes great straight from my peeps back in Italy at a great price. If I'm going to "do better," I want food that tastes like it loves me back) Morning Kick by Chuck Norris (I took his quiz, got labeled a "rapid ager," and immediately decided I need Chuck to back me freakin up. I'm testing it and kinda love it) Also, because of the nonstop flow of information these days I always come across a lot of 'who knew' stuff I find out that I want to share. Like that dry roasted peanuts build your telomeres. Yup. Short telomeres equal short life. So, I stole my Dave's peanuts for show and tell. He now brags he's younger because he eats them, and now I have to eat them just to have my telomeres catch up. (I tell ya being interesting is a nonstop sport.) And because "The Most Interesting Woman in the World" is also likely starting to blow some body parts… I showed off a flyer featuring that great gal Evelyn the physical therapist from ProClinix who's been workin' on me helping to get me get back in the game! (which starts with me getting on and off the table). And because "The Most Interesting Woman in the World" also wants to have as much fun as possible before she's dead… I also discussed just how many companies are pitching me to come have fun with them. Like the Royal Caribbean cruise line that begs me by email almost daily to sail away with them again, and again, and again. YES, YES, "The Most Interesting Woman in the World" – The collective 'WE' – want to have more FUN! We're open. Where are we going? We're IN! Just can't be the same day we're already booked. Like on a day we have a Dr. or dentist appointment or are taking someone else to a Dr. or a dentist appt. Can't be on a day when a plumber is coming to the house or on a day when we have an appointment, meeting, a zoom, going to a kids sports event or when we're babysitting. Oh, or when we've got a hair appt. And it can't be anything that starts too late at night or requires us to drive far in bad weather. Other than we're free. LOL Here's what I touched on the rest of the show The "anti-marketing" protein bar that's winning the protein wars is simply DAVID and why some brands win without screaming. Apparently, a protein bar called David is crushing it, partly because it's doing the opposite of what every loud, neon, influencer-filled protein brand is doing. Simple subway ads. Tons of white space. A sleek package. No drama. And the numbers? Wild. The brand's buzz has been building like a cult favorite, with big fundraising and serious sales projections. I first tasted them at a National Women's Pickleball Foundation event and immediately understood the strategy: get it in people's mouths first — then they'll come looking for it later. (That's marketing.) Then I found our there's a New personality label: "Otrovert" "Wait… is that me?" Otrovert (from "otro," meaning "other") is basically someone who can look extroverted and function socially just fine…but actually recharges best alone or in quieter settings. Observant, sensitive to group dynamics, craving real connection… and sometimes leaving a room feeling oddly separate. The takeaway? Pressure's off. You're allowed to be social AND need silence. You're allowed to shine AND need downtime. Be who you are. (I support this message.) Divorce rings are a thing (and yes, I have thoughts) And then—because my brain is a pinball machine—we hit a British Vogue trend: divorce ring parties. Women re-setting stones from old engagement rings into new jewelry to mark a fresh chapter. It's community, champagne, and a little "we're going to be okay." Whenever I speak of divorce, I always like to point out that divorce is painful. A broken dream. No matter who's fault it is. Even when it's necessary, it has a long emotional tail. So, if you're in that chapter: I hope you find your next "happily ever after," whatever that looks like. Also: Walking sharks. That's it. That's the sentence. ScienceDaily had me staring into the void with this headline: walking sharks that apparently break rules of reproduction without a measurable increase in energy use. Do I need this information? No. Did I share it anyway? Absolutely. Because that's what I do. Discover stuff and share it. Ozempic marketing, sweatpants history, and the courage to turn on the camera I also touched on: Novo Nordisk leaning into a "Get a Mac"-style ad throwback to clarify Ozempic's FDA-approved uses (marketing is getting very nostalgic lately) International Sweatpants Day, and the fact that sweatpants evolved from athletic wear to "I live here now" fashion (and yes, I did also mention the origins) And threading through all of it was my own little "new era" moment: I turned on a camera in the studio—even though I'm not exactly thrilled about it—because staying relevant means shifting with the times. It means blending wisdom with new tools, learning new stuff, and continuing to show up. Because "The Most Interesting Woman in the World" isn't one person. She's all of us. Especially those of us learning how not to let getting older get in the way of being us. The Daily Toast (because I always end the show with a little sparkle) I closed with a quote I loved from Dr. Steve Maraboli: "There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself…" Amen, Dr. Maraboli. And my personal sign-off still stands: 'Someday' Has Arrived… It's Time to Roll! Onward! Debbie

Join her free health & longevity newsletter here: https://www.drvondawright.com/resources/aging-longevity Through decades of caring for women as an orthopedic sports surgeon, I've seen how many health challenges go unspoken. Body odor, vaginal health, and the shame and silence around them are not small issues. They affect confidence, relationships, and how women move through the world. In this conversation, Shannon and I explore how a simple clinical observation became a breakthrough in understanding how odor works on the body. We discuss why women were taught to mask symptoms instead of understanding their source and how deeply stigma has shaped the way they experience their own bodies. Shannon shares her journey from clinical practice to building products based on physiology rather than marketing myths. We also talk about the power of listening without judgment and giving women the language, knowledge, and permission to understand their bodies without embarrassment. What we cover: - How Shannon's clinical practice revealed a hidden but widespread problem for women - Why odor is a bacterial issue, not a hygiene failure - The difference between masking symptoms and addressing root causes - How shame has shaped women's health messaging for decades - Why the vulva, skin folds, and external body deserve the same scientific attention - What it takes to challenge medical dogma as a woman physician - The leap from medicine to entrepreneurship and the resistance along the way - Building products that respect women's intelligence and lived experience - Why listening to patients changes everything - How confidence, dignity, and health are deeply connected About Shannon Klingman: Dr Shannon Klingman is an OB-GYN, innovator, and founder of Lume.
From day one, The Narrative has been about one thing: equipping you to stand firm, rooted in truth. As believers, we cannot surrender ground by operating on the Left’s terms; we must stand on the natural rights given by our Creator. Aaron, David, and Mike highlight this call to courage as they review a recent protest that disrupted a church service in Minnesota. The guys also discuss the importance of the March for Life and remind listeners to reach out to Senators Moreno and Husted to encourage them to defend the Hyde Amendment. After the news, the hosts sit down with Daniel Harmon, the creative force behind the viral Tuttle Twins cartoon series. Daniel walked away from a high-powered advertising career to build a record-breaking, crowdfunded media empire. Why? Because the modern university system has abandoned sound economics and natural rights. So Daniel decided to teach them to our kids instead. Through the adventures of the twins and their time-traveling grandmother, Daniel explains how he simplifies complex topics like inflation, entrepreneurship, and individual liberty so even an eight-year-old can master them. Daniel underscores why it matters that parents, not institutions, remain the primary voice shaping the next generation. More About Daniel Harmon Daniel Harmon is the creator and showrunner of the Tuttle Twins TV Show, an award-winning cartoon that teaches kids about the principles of freedom and economics. Tuttle Twins is based on the book series that has sold over 5 million copies. In 2020, Tuttle Twins set a record as the #1 crowdfunded kids' show in the world! Daniel is a creative entrepreneur and co-founded Harmon Brothers, a renowned video advertising agency that has driven billions of views and over $700 million in sales. Prior to Tuttle Twins, Daniel served as Chief Creative Officer of Harmon Brothers, where he created, directed, and oversaw ad campaigns, including viral hits for Squatty Potty, Purple mattress, Poo-pourri, Chatbooks, Lume, FiberFix, Camp Chef, and more. Daniel is also a co-founder of VidAngel and Angel Studios.
In this episode of Success Leaves Clues, host Robin Bailey is joined by special co-host Billi Moyer for a timely conversation with Christine Lacey, VP of Revenue at Lume Women's Health, a Toronto-based women's health clinic built for women by women, focused on proactive, personalized care that helps close longstanding gaps in women's healthcare. Christine shares how Lume was founded by four women (three physicians), and why women's healthcare cannot be compared “apples to apples” with traditional models historically built around the male body. She explains why women are not “small men,” and how reproductive and hormonal health influences whole-body outcomes, from brain health to cardiovascular health, making sex-specific care essential across a woman's life. The conversation highlights the midlife care gap, how the system supports puberty and family planning, but often drops women when disease prevention, longevity, and true healthspan should be the focus. Christine also shares a striking stat, women live longer, but spend about 25% more time in poor health than men, strengthening the case for proactive care models. They explore accessibility, equity, and why corporate Canada may be one of the fastest levers for progress, including advocacy like the push for a menopause billing code in Ontario. The episode closes with the future Christine wants for the next generation of women. This episode explores Capricorn as the archetype of devotion, responsibility, and sacred stewardship. Capricorn season teaches us how to tend what matters slowly and steadily, especially when there is no immediate reward or visible progress. As the Sun enters Capricorn on December 21, followed by Venus entering Capricorn on December 24, we are asked to examine our relationship to commitment, integrity, and long-term values. This is a season of vows rather than resolutions, of choosing what we will carry forward with care into the next chapter. In this episode, Ali explores:The Winter Solstice as a spiritual and energetic thresholdYule as the archetype of faith without evidenceCapricorn as the keeper of time, structure, and sacred responsibilityThe difference between devotion and urgencyWhat it means to close 2025 with intention rather than forceHow Venus in Capricorn reframes love as loyalty, presence, and embodied commitmentTHANK YOU for being here.LUME red light therapy box for $260 offPound Jewelry use the code ALI20 for 20% offKamana Coffee Replacement use the code ALIO15 for 15% offEarth Archive's Rainforest Serum - use the code ALIOFSTEDAL for 11% offUse the code "PODCAST" for 10% off an astrocartography or astrology session with me.Catori Life jewelryThank for you being here.Your presence means the world. On this week's episode of The Modern Retail Podcast, co-hosts Gabriela Barkho and Melissa Daniels discuss Mammoth Brands' acquisition of Coterie, a luxury diaper brand that's had a fast-growing subscription business since 2021. While the terms of the deal are undisclosed, it's a big move for Mammoth whose portfolio up until now has included adult body care and grooming brands like Harry's, Flamingo and Lume. Then they unpack the news that Unilever is offloading luxury skincare brand Kate Somerville 10 years after its acquisition. It's now owned by Rare Beauty Brands, which also skincare brands Patchology and Dot Dot Dash. But it's another sign that Unilever is looking to simply its portfolio and get out of the luxury category, as Unilever also shuttered another brand in the category, Ren Clean Skincare, in July. This week's featured segment is an interview with James Lang, the vp of marketplace at Ulta Beauty (21:22). The company in October announced its first-ever third-party marketplace that's integrated into its website. The move is an attempt to grow e-commerce business without being saddled with inventory, but Lang explains how the company worked quickly and efficiently to stand up the operation within six months after announcing it in March. They discussed: How Ulta learned from other retailers' mistakes when building its marketplace. How it plans to use third-party sellers as a way to jump on trend The challenges and benefits of selling unowned inventory as a trusted legacy brand.

Michael Popok and Karen Friedman Agnifilo on the top rated Legal AF podcast, discuss: Judge Xinis' scathing new order against Trump putting his Administration well on the way to another contempt finding; the Supreme Court and 4th Circuit rulings rocking Trump's world as he reconsiders his losing fight with Courts and the Supreme Court because the public is telling him he's a loser in polling; Trump's pathetically weak attacks on NY AG Leticia James as she opens another investigation about him; more fair minded prosecutors quit the DOJ and tell off the Trump Administration on the way out; law firms are winning against Trump in the courtroom; and so much more at the intersection of law and politics. In this episode of Heal Thyself, I dive deep into the hidden dangers of deodorants—specifically the presence of PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals.” A recent study by Mamavation (March 2025) revealed that 40% of tested deodorants contained PFAS, with some brands showing shockingly high levels—Little Seed Farm came in at 103 ppm. I break down which brands passed and failed PFAS testing and explain why this matters—PFAS can be absorbed through the thin skin of the underarm, leading to serious health issues like cancer, infertility, and thyroid dysfunction. I also share actionable detox strategies you can use right now, including sweating regularly, taking binders, staying hydrated, and supporting your liver. I strongly recommend avoiding the following brands due to PFAS concerns: Little Seed Farm, doTERRA, Dr Teal's, Lume, Hello, Kopari, and Secret. Instead, here are some safer deodorant alternatives I trust: Bello Tallow, Primally Pure, Pretty Frank, and Truvani. Don't forget to check your product labels for synthetic fragrances, aluminum salts, and other toxic ingredients. #deodorant #toxic #productreview ==== Thank You To Our Sponsors! Michael Popok and Dina Sayegh Doll, contributing for KFA, on the top rated Legal AF podcast, discuss: Trump's failed economic plans and "Liberation Day" as contrasted with the Democratic winning big and defeating Musk and Trump in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, and Senator Cory Booker spending 25 hours on the Senate Floor reminding America who the Democrats are; the Supreme Court deciding what America we live in, the one where we are ok kidnapping, and deporting without due process to the wretched jails of El Salvador, or the one where that is not allowed; a federal judge blocking another Trump inhumane immigration policy; the Supreme Court hearing oral argument on whether Planned Parenthood can be defunded by a Red State; and so much more at the intersection of law and politics. Episode 313 - Appalachia's Saddest Cryptid & A Shape-Shifting Witch | Haunted Appalachia (Part 3) From soul-stealing cryptids to the saddest creature you've never heard of, we're wrapping up our three-part deep dive into the eerie folklore of one of the most mysterious regions in the U.S. This week, we're unraveling the legend of The Raven Mocker—a terrifying, shape-shifting entity that steals the remaining years of the dying (so, um… sleep tight). But don't worry, we'll balance out the chills with The Squonk, a cryptid that might just be our collective spirit animal—wrinkly, weepy, and dissolving into tears when cornered. And, of course, we have listener encounters that will make you rethink your next road trip through Appalachia. Mysterious figures stalking the tree line, eerie glowing eyes, and creatures that shouldn't be able to keep pace with your car… but somehow do. PLUS:
