This is a podcast about firsts, exploring the initial offerings in an artist’s catalogue, the first forays in a medium, the first season, first book, first video game… Well, you get the idea. Firsts! Hosted by Kelly Attaway, Chelsea Hollander, and Nate Ra
The Debut Buddies podcast is a surprisingly entertaining and enjoyable show, despite the initial skepticism I had towards the hosts. The hosts, Nate and Shannon, may come across as clowns at times, but their dumb yet relatable humor makes this podcast incredibly fun to listen to. They have a great way of mixing trivia and comedy, and each episode features guests who clearly have a blast being on the show.
One of the best aspects of The Debut Buddies is the silly banter that takes place throughout each episode. While the show is vaguely a trivia show, it often goes off on tangents and sidetracks. However, this never gets dull and actually adds to the comedic nature of the podcast. You might learn something from the random trivia tidbits that are shared, but they're more likely to be useless information that still manages to be funny.
Another great aspect of this podcast is the lineup of guests that Nate and Shannon bring on board. These guests are not only interesting but also passionate about their respective areas of expertise. Whether it's discussing nerdy wormholes or obscure topics like Brutalism or paper tigers, you're sure to learn something unique and fascinating while having a good time.
Watching The Debut Buddies grow into what it has become has been an absolute pleasure. It's clear that Nate, Shannon, and their friends genuinely love each other's company and their enthusiasm shines through in every episode. This podcast is perfect for those who enjoy pseudo-trivia game shows with a comedic twist. It may not be the greatest pseudo-trivia game show based in Denver, Colorado (or maybe it is), but there's no denying that it's a lot of fun.
In conclusion, The Debut Buddies is an entertaining and consistently funny original game show podcast that I highly recommend listening to. Not only will you have a great time playing along with the trivia segments, but you'll also be treated to interesting and hilarious guests. This podcast has the potential to become the next "Wait, Wait don't tell me" with its unique blend of comedy and trivia. Give it a listen, you won't be disappointed.

What began as "Russian Mountains" evolved across Europe, and eventually, found their way to the good ol' U.S. of A... In 1884, one man wanted to use his vast fortune--NO! Not to help anyone!--to keep a recently re-unioned American population from getting too drunk, too horny, and too gambly... So he built himself a roller coaster, and with it, he made even more money (which he did not share), but at least he gave us all the gift of post-mule speeds, and the exhilaration that comes with it! It's a fever dream, a dream about a fever, and a fever about a dream. On this episode, we're joined by guest and friend of the pod, Michael J. Running. You might say it's like walking but faster... Now imagine running for 26.2 miles! That would be a marathon, right? Sure. Now double it. 52.4 miles!? That would qualify as an ultramarathon! In 2025, the United States experienced a rarity... a nonconsecutive U.S. President took office and the nation was shook by just how nonconsecutive it was after more than 100 years of unmitigated consecutiveness.
