This week our Solopreneur guest is Dr. Una! Dr. Una is the founder of Ivy League Pediatrics, a multi-site pediatric practice in Georgia. While building her practice, Dr. Una developed a love for entrepreneurship. Like many doctors, Dr. Una felt like an imposter when she started out in business because she was trained to be a great clinician, not an entrepreneur. Starting a business without a background in entrepreneurship was challenging. Dr. Una overcame these challenges by getting outside of her comfort zone and immersing herself in business communities. She soon realized that her love for both medicine and entrepreneurship could come together in a meaningful way and bring increased purpose, and freedom to her life. In 2018, Dr. Una founded EntreMD, a platform created to help physicians embrace entrepreneurship. Dr. Una helps doctors build successful businesses so they can practice medicine and live life on their own terms. In this episode we learn from Dr. Una:Why it's important to be multifaceted, even when we have an established career pathHow entrepreneurship can help us take control of our financial futureWhy business skills are important to learn in almost any professionHow it's possible to build a profitable business even if you have no background in entrepreneurshipConnect with Dr. Una here: http://entremd.com/Listen to Dr. Una's podcast: http://entremd.buzzsprout.com/REGISTER FOR NIA'S COURSE CREATOR ACADEMY: https://www.thesolopreneurhustle.com/monetizeyourvalue> Order Nia's book, Earn More Work Lesshttps://www.thesolopreneurhustle.com/earnmoreworkless> STAY CONNECTED Website | http://www.thesolopreneurhustle.comInstagram | @SoloprenuerHustle Email | hello@thesolopreneurhustle.com > EMAIL NEWSLETTERJoin our Streamline Your Business Bootcamp: https://www.subscribepage.com/streamlineyourbusiness > Subscribe to Nia on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzlCl9xBXGlyoATwat6Ebpg?view_as=subscribermotivational business podcast, business podcast, small business podcast, podcast for women entrepreneurs, podcast for female entrepreneurs, solopreneur podcast, podcast for solopreneurs, solopreneur

In this episode I talk to Dr. Una of EntreMD, who has helped hundreds of physicians build practices and business they love. There are over 1 million doctors in the U.S., and Dr. Una says it's her goal to help even just 1/10th of them. Dr. Una realized in 2016 that the practice of medicine was changing and that doctors no longer had the same level of control in their field. Even with a successful pediatric private practice, she decided that she needed to invest in her speaking and leadership skills in case she ever reached a point where she couldn't practice medicine on her own terms. In this process she realized other physicians need the same skills, and Dr. Una set out to support them with live events, her EntreMD podcast and her business school. Dr. Una shares some of the most important lessons she's learned along the way: "If it fails, I would have learned enough lessons that my next project will be even better, so we don't stop. To be an entrepreneur means you fail forward. You're in motion. You have to learn that you wear different hats in different spaces. When you're wearing when you're running a code, please be perfect. But entrepreneurship? No." "I mean the fact that you can dream and create, that fixes burnout. When you're in that mode, there is a level of fulfillment that comes from it, a level of control that comes from it that it just makes your experience in medicine so different. And the financial rewards? When you get the money piece right then you're even in more control. You can determine how much you want to work, you can work because you want to, not because you have to. In this episode, I talk to Dr. Una about how to find your passion as a physician and create a business you love. Listen for our conversation on... Dr. Una is a pediatrician, business coach, podcaster, and founder of Ivy League Pediatrics in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Like many doctors, Dr. Una was ignorant, scared, and felt like an imposter when she started out in business because she was trained to be a great clinician, not an entrepreneur. Over the years, she learned that the two do not need to be mutually exclusive, so she embraced both worlds. As a result, she is able to enjoy the practice of medicine, develop her other interests and best of all, not miss time with her family. Armed with her wealth of knowledge and depth of research, she founded EntreMD. This is an organization with the singular mission of helping 80,000 doctors create financial freedom by building profitable businesses. She does this through the EntreMD Podcast, live events and the EntreMD Business School. You can see her resources at www.entremd.com
Women Physicians Flourish. A Podcast About Life and Wellbeing
Dr. Nneka Unachukwu, or Dr. Una as she is endearingly called by her patients and the many doctors she has mentored, is a pediatrician and founder of Ivy League Pediatrics, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Since founding that practice 11 years ago, she has started many other successful businesses, including teaching physicians the skills of entrepreneurship through her podcast, called EntreMD (short for Entrepreneur MD), and her group teaching program, the EntreMD Business School. She has a goal of helping 80,000 physicians create financial freedom by building profitable businesses, and she is well on her way. This woman is a national treasure. In our conversation today, Dr. Una talks candidly about her life as a mother, a wife, and a doctor; and the shift in thinking women physicians need to have in order to be fulfilled in all those areas of life (yes, we do talk about housework and childcare), We also talk about her perspective on the way the world has changed for physicians and how entrepreneurship and the skill of public speaking are at the top of her list as ways for physicians to continue thriving. Dr. Una is unusually insightful and was so gracious to spend this time with me - please enjoy our interview. Sunday Special 14 - My guest today is Dr. Nneka Unachukwu, better known as Dr. Una. She is the founder of Ivy League Pediatrics, a multi-site pediatric practice in Georgia. While building this practice, she developed a love for entrepreneurship and has since built other thriving businesses as well. Dr. Una founded EntreMD to help physicians like her start and grow a business. She has a successful podcast, a great business mind, and a really interesting testimony. She grew up in Africa, immigrated to the States, and has proceeded to take the medical community by storm. She's an incredible model of physician entrepreneurship, and I'm so excited to share her story with you!Register for Residency-Proof Your Marriage!I'm excited to tell you about a new online course I'm launching called “Residency-Proof Your Marriage.” I've seen way too many couples get divorced or see their relationships go sour during their medical career. Medical training is an inherently divisive time, so you have to work to combat that! This online video course will coach you through setting expectations, communicating effectively, getting on the same page with finances, and keeping your relationship thriving during a difficult time. Whether you're in medical school, residency, or out in clinical practice, Residency-Proof Your Marriage is going to help you build a thriving medical marriage. This is a very inexpensive investment in your marriage. A weekend marriage retreat will cost upwards of $1000 between food, registration, lodging, and vacation time. This course is just a fraction of that cost and you can complete it on your own time!Registration for the beta course is closed, but get on the waitlist for the course launch this fall!Click here to sign up today!
