Greetings Patrons! I'm back with the 66 addendum. If you recall, 1966 was the Swamp Gas year; the straw that broke the camels back for Project Blue Book and led to a civilian study of the UFO phenomenon and Blue Book's files from the University of Colorado. It was the year that Frank Manor saw a glowing pyramid in his back yard, an all girls school saw lights in the swamp, a group of police officers pursued a UFO over state lines and the ominous arrival of the Mothman. On this episode I touch on a number of cases that involve foul odors (stinky portals), humanoids talking to each other, James E. McDonald's viewing of the Robertson Panel Report, and Hyenk's more open policy about the UFOs. There were "saucer nests," "bent headlights," and UFOs and humanoids that pursued children, among other fascinating trends in cases. For the final installment of our Addendum series, we return with some odd humanoids, UFO photos, and a series of encounters with short little men in the bedrooms of many Venezuelan residents. James E McDonald hits up the United Nations and gets denied, and the Condon Committee's woes are only beginning. Sources: All sources used in this episode can be found on our Resources page. Science and its many disciplines has always been mystifying, complex and convoluted in the eyes of the lay person. How do we bridge the gap? Well, back in 1961 at Sydney University a physicist Stuart Butler and a maverick film and Television producer Bob Raymond came together to do just that. They created a daily comic strip in the Sydney Morning Herald that would visualise and explain the "Frontiers of Science" in far more palatable terms. It was a huge success on the world wide stage and predicted many scientific and technical achievements that we are seeing today. Link below is to the University archive that has preserved these strips. In 1967 American physicist and intrepid UFO researcher James E. McDonald visited Australia, in a Four Corners interview the clarity of his insight into the UFO situation is made clear. In retrospect his statements sound very contemporary and echo the dismissal of the subject today. On April 8th we will witness a total eclipse of the sun which has created much speculation and fear that is not based in real science Jay and Aspasia try to dispel those misconceptions.https://digital.library.sydney.edu.au/nodes/view/6391
Tonight, our guest is Preston Dennett to discuss reports of UFO sightings coming from oceans, lakes, and underground bases. Get his book Undersea UFO Base: An In-Depth Investigation of USOs in the Santa Catalina Channel USAF Regulation 200-2 (1953–1954) Air Force Regulation 200-2,[55] issued in 1953 and 1954, defined an Unidentified Flying Object ("UFOB") as "any airborne object which by performance, aerodynamic characteristics, or unusual features, does not conform to any presently known aircraft or missile type, or which cannot be positively identified as a familiar object." The regulation also said UFOBs were to be investigated as a "possible threat to the security of the United States" and "to determine technical aspects involved." The regulation went on to say that "it is permissible to inform news media representatives on UFOB's when the object is positively identified as a familiar object" but added: "For those objects which are not explainable, only the fact that ATIC [Air Technical Intelligence Center] will analyze the data is worthy of release, due to many unknowns involved."[55]Blue Book and the Condon Committee (1968–1970)Main article: Condon CommitteeA public research effort conducted by the Condon Committee for the USAF and published as the Condon Report arrived at a negative conclusion in 1968.[56] Blue Book closed down in 1970, using the Condon Committee's negative conclusion as a rationale, thus ending official Air Force UFO investigations. However, a 1969 USAF document, known as the Bolender memo, along with later government documents, revealed that non-public U.S. government UFO investigations continued after 1970. The Bolender memo first stated that "reports of unidentified flying objects that could affect national security ... are not part of the Blue Book system," indicating that more serious UFO incidents already were handled outside the public Blue Book investigation. The memo then added, "reports of UFOs which could affect national security would continue to be handled through the standard Air Force procedures designed for this purpose."[note 3]In the late 1960s a chapter on UFOs in the Space Sciences course at the U.S. Air Force Academy gave serious consideration to possible extraterrestrial origins. When word of the curriculum became public, the Air Force in 1970 issued a statement to the effect that the book was outdated and cadets instead were being informed of the Condon Report's negative conclusion.[57]Controversy surrounded the report, both before and after its release. It has been observed that the report was "harshly criticized by numerous scientists, particularly at the powerful AIAA ... [which] recommended moderate, but continuous scientific work on UFOs."[56] In an address to the AAAS, James E. McDonald said he believed science had failed to mount adequate studies of the problem and criticized the Condon Report and earlier studies by the USAF as scientifically deficient. He also questioned the basis for Condon's conclusions[58] and argued that the reports of UFOs have been "laughed out of scientific court".[59] J. Allen Hynek, an astronomer who worked as a USAF consultant from 1948, sharply criticized the Condon Committee Report and later wrote two nontechnical books that set forth the case for continuing to investigate UFO reports.Ruppelt recounted his experiences with Project Blue Book, a USAF investigation that preceded Condon's.[60]FOIA release of documents in 1978. We're taking a bit of a break from our abduction series, and this week, Sequoyah Kennedy from The Nonsense Bazaar joins me to talk a little shit about the C.I.A. In 1952, the new Project Blue Book was riding high. With Captain Edward Ruppelt at the helm, the project was now taking UFOs seriously... but for a limited time. Before long, the project was hampered by press leaks and understaffing, but its open mindedness to the UFO subject never waned. That would all change over the course of two successive weekends in July of 1952 when UFOs would appear over Washington D.C. and cause a massive uproar in the press. An uproar that Blue Book was not prepared to handle. President Truman wanted answers quickly and asked the C.I.A. to step in. Leading to the infamous Robertson Panel, the C.I.A. would set the course of Blue Book's investigations in the following years. All of this was a secret until the report was discovered by the unsung hero of the ufological world, Dr. James E. McDonald. UFO researcher and author Ann Druffel dates her interest in the UFO question from 1945 when, as a schoolgirl, she viewed a bright yellowish object, very high in clear blue skies over Long Beach, California. She and her mother, Aileen Walsh McElroy, watched the object as it slowly traveled westerly. After about an hour and one-half, having traveled about 30 degrees from the NNE to the NNW, it then released 15-20 smaller shiny objects, which took varying paths out and away from the main object. Years later, it was determined that this sighting occurred at about the same time the first experimental atom bomb was exploded in New Mexico. Interested in earth mysteries of all kinds, Druffel has researched various aspects of the UFO question and investigated reports of all kinds since 1957. She was one of the first investigators for NICAP, remaining with that organization from April 1957 to 1973. During the NICAP years she became acquainted with the renowned atmospheric physicist, Dr. James E. McDonald, and participated with him in several UFO cases during his six years of UFO research. After NICAP was destroyed by subversive agents from the FBI and CIA who had secretly penetrated into the higher realms of NICAP, Druffel joined the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) with which she is still actively associated as investigator, frequent contributor to their journals and other official capacities. She also joined the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) and contributes articles on California sightings and other UFO subjects to IUR (International UFO Reporter). www.anndruffel.comThe XZBN Network Programming is brought to you by BEAUTIFUL MIND COFFEE - For the coffee that your brain will love, visit Beautiful Mind Coffee, www.beautifulmindcoffee.ca.

She also joined the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) and contributes articles on California sightings and other UFO subjects to IUR (International UFO Reporter). www.anndruffel.com Now listen to all our XZBN shows, with our compliments go to: https://www.spreaker.com/user/xzoneradiotv or www.xzoneuniverse.com *** AND NOW *** The ‘X' Zone TV Channel on SimulTV - www.simultv.com The ‘X' Zone TV Channel Radio Feed (Free - No Subscription Required) - https://www.spreaker.com/show/xztv-the-x-zone-tv-show-audio The ‘X' Chronicles Newspaper - www.xchroniclesnewspaper.com (Free) To contact Rob McConnell - misterx@xzoneradiotv.com
One of history's most interesting cases! What happened that night, so long ago, in 1956? Was it a bird, a meteor? Or perhaps something out of this world. Other strange things have happened in the area, for example Britain's most famous case in 1980, the Rendlesham forest incident. Is this in any way related? Probably not. A summary from Wikipedia: The commonly cited sequence of events is recorded in the original Project Blue Book file by the USAF, subsequently analysed by the Condon Committee's report and by atmospheric physicist James E. McDonald. The incident began at the USAF-tenanted RAF Bentwaters, Suffolk, on the evening of 13 August 1956. This was a dry, largely clear night with, observers noted, an unusually large number of shooting stars, associated with the Perseid meteor shower. At 21:30, radar operators at the base tracked a target, appearing similar to a normal aircraft return, approaching the base from the sea at an apparent speed of several thousand miles per hour. They also tracked a group of targets moving slowly to the north-east which merged into a single very large return (several times the strength of that from a B-36) before moving off the scope to the north, as well as a further rapid target proceeding from east to west.[4]A T-33 trainer from the 512th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, crewed by 1st Lieutenants Charles Metz and Andrew Rowe, was directed to investigate the radar contacts, but saw nothing. No visual sightings of the objects were made from Bentwaters in this period with the exception of a single amber star-like object which was subsequently identified as probably being Mars, then low in the south-east.[5]At 22:55, a target was detected approaching Bentwaters from the east at a speed estimated around 2000–4000 mph. It faded from the scope as it passed over the base (possibly suggesting anomalous propagation as a source for the target, although ground-based radars almost always have a blind spot overhead), reappearing to the west. However, as it passed overhead a rapidly moving white light was observed from the ground, while the pilot of a C-47 at 4000 feet over Bentwaters reported that a similar light had passed beneath his aircraft. At this point, Bentwaters alerted the U.S.-tenanted RAF Lakenheath base, 40 miles to the north-west, to look out for the targets.[6] Ground personnel at Lakenheath made visual sightings of several luminous objects, including two which arrived, made a sharp change in course, and appeared to merge before moving off. The angular size of these objects was compared to that of a golf ball at arm's length, and they were stated to dwindle to pinpoint size as they moved away, an observation which seemed to rule out a bolide or bright meteor.[6]The final phase of the incident was described in some detail by Technical Sergeant Forrest Perkins, who was the Watch Supervisor in the Lakenheath Radar Air Traffic Control centre, and who wrote directly to the Condon Committee in 1968. Perkins claimed that two RAF De Havilland Venom interceptors were scrambled and directed towards a radar target near Lakenheath. The pilot of the first Venom achieved contact, but then found that the target manoeuvred behind him and chased the aircraft for a period of around 10 minutes despite the latter's taking violent evasive action; Perkins characterised the pilot as "getting worried, excited and also pretty scared".[7] The second Venom was forced to return to its home station due to engine problems; Perkins stated that the target remained on their screens for a short period before leaving on a northerly heading. Is there anything else to the sighting? Tune in for Agents ETA and Anderson as they discuss this fascinating case.
Suzanne Chancellor interviews author and UFO researcher Ann Druffel where they discuss her research on the UFO phenomenon, spanning over fifty years. Intrigued by the subject after a close encounter as a small child, her fascination led her to become involved with the National Investigations Committee of Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) and MUFON. Author of the book Firestorm: Dr. James E. McDonald's Fight For UFO Science about the life and untimely death of Dr. James E. McDonald.Ann continues to find the answers to the many questions surrounding the abduction scenario, and who these extraterrestrial beings really are.
In his second lecture on UFOs, Donderi reviews the UFO evidence in detail and outlines the relationship between the evidence and the psychology of perception, motivation and belief. He also covers the interactions between skeptics like Carl Sagan and non-skeptical scientists and scholars like James E. McDonald and C.G. Jung. Finally, in keeping with the [...]
