Ocena filma Režiserja: Mike Mitchell in Stephanie Stine Sinhonizacija: Klemen Slakonja, Sara Gorše, Karin Komljanec, Pavel Ravnohrib, Iztok Valič, Primož Pirnat, Valter Dragan Piše: Gaja Poeschl Bere: Maja Moll Šestnajst let je že, kar se je Po, okrogel, neroden, ješč, a izredno simpatičen panda podal iz gnezda svojega očeta gosaka gospoda Pinga in mojstrstvo priprave kitajskih rezancev zamenjal za mojstrstvo borilnih veščin. Prvemu izredno posrečenemu filmu sta v razmiku osmih let sledili še dve enako uspešni nadaljevanji, v katerih je Po na svoj prikupno neroden način nadgrajeval svoje borilne, umske in čustvene sposobnosti, spoznal svojo primarno družino in koncept čija, osrednjega pojma kitajskih borilnih veščin.
This second film in this series sees a new director in Jennifer Yuh Nelson in her directorial debut but also sees a majority of the cast return including Jack Black, Angelina Jolie & Dustin Hoffman, among others. Newcomers include Gary Oldman, Michelle Yeoh, Dennis Haysbert, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Victor Garber & Danny McBride. In this film, a vengeful peacock looks to wipeout all of China with a new weapon system and it's up to The Dragon Warrior and the Furious 5 to stop him at all cost. This film was the highest grossing animated film of the year and saw more Golden Globe & Academy Award nominations.

Meet four of the creative folks responsible for the animated Netflix hit Love, Death & Robots! In their alternate lives, creator and executive producer Tim Miller directed the big-screen Deadpool and Jennifer Yuh Nelson directed Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3… but this attention-grabbing anthology of animated short subjects has got their juices flowing. The same holds true for supervising sound editors Brad North and Craig Henighan, who treat each episode of the show like a feature film and call on years of experience creating unusual soundscapes. Leonard and Jessie can't imagine all the work that goes into crafting every installment of this wildly imaginative show.
Quick Content Warning: There is some colorful language in this podcast episode. Listener discretion is advised. Season 3 of the eleven-time Emmy winning series LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS hit Netflix on May 20th and we are delighted to sit down with creator Tim Miller, supervising director Jennifer Yuh Nelson, and supervising sound editor Brad North to discuss how they managed to succeed where so many others have failed — creating a hit anthology television series. "It really comes down to who's doing the shorts. There's been a lot of care trying to match-make: The shorts, the stories, the directors, and the studios. You've got a whole lifetime of experience with people and studios that Tim has worked with at Blur. People that have been doing incredible content, that maybe haven't had the opportunity to do a feature yet, because of the size and experimentalism of that particular place. And to be able to hook them up with really good, solid stories that they can put all of their effort into making that, actually, great. You're not spinning a lot of wheels here. You're doing amazing. Everything goes right to the screen." — Jennifer Yuh Nelson, Supervising Director, LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS Be sure to https://www.netflix.com/title/80174608 (check out LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS, only on Netflix.) Are you Green or Orange? We're not quite Red over this listener recommendation (thanks Em!) but both Brenna and Joe find that Bracken's text doesn't fully want to engage with its rebellion or world-building as much as it could (or should?) Instead it's a lot of road trip, with an unconvincing romance and a cliffhanger that suggests we might enjoy the next book in this series more.Alas the film fares worse: despite decent special effects and a more convincing romantic pairing between returning champ Amandla Stenberg and someone named Harris Dickinson (*not a Hemsworth), the film doubles down on the book's least interesting aspects. As it stands, this pairing simply doesn't stand on its own two feet and Stenberg (see previous episodes: Everything, Everything; The Hate U Give, and The Hunger Games) deserves better!Wanna connect with the show? “Some people say their brain is in their hand. Mine is definitely in my head,” said animator turned director, Jennifer Yuh Nelson. Perhaps best known as the first female solo-director of a Hollywood animated film for 'Kung Fu Panda 2' and 'Kung Fu Panda 3,' Yuh has recently moved into live action with the young adult film, 'The Darkest Minds.' The animator knew she wanted to follow this career at a very early age. She went to school as an Illustrations Major, but she actually drew live action storyboards as a kid. When she decided to learn about filmmaking and storytelling, she reached out to her older sister Gloria, who got her a job as a PA at an animation studio. In this interview, Yuh talks about hand-to-hand combat in animation, the transition from animation to directing, the emotional core of the story, and being ready for great opportunities. In addition to this audio format, the print interview for this conversation is available on Creative Screenwriting Magazine’s website.
