In 1997, Christopher Miller lucked his way into a meeting with Disney's TV Animation Department - and he turned them down, because he had to study for midterms. But when he finally did go to LA and meet with Disney, he brought along his best friend, Phil Lord. Twenty years later, Lord and Miller were chosen to direct Solo: A Star Wars Story, after a meteoric rise from writers of oft-cancelled sitcoms to one of the most well regarded directing teams in Hollywood. They would not finish the film, but the marks they left on it would be deep, and unexpected, and many of them would involve Robert Altman's McCabe and Mrs Miller. In December 2016, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was released into the world. With six weeks of reshoots, a painfully short edit, an unexpected election and a new composer after the first one dropped out due to "scheduling issues", the film was finally finished - the day before its premiere. But was it successful? And more importantly, was it political? In this final episode of Going Rogue, we look at Rogue One's release, and legacy, and the new life it's about to take in Andor. Rogue One has now fascinated and captivated me for longer than every person who worked on it (expect John Knoll) - but why? What is it the film that haunts my every waking hour? I saw it in IMAX yesterday and I finally clocked Tony Gilroy's cameo. Did you know Tony Gilroy has a cameo in Rogue One? It's just his voice but he's the Rebel traffic controller who asks for their callsign and when Bodhi's like "... Rogue One?" it's Gilroy who says "Rogue One? There is no Rogue One?!" and honestly what a choice to make for the cameo. Gareth Edwards launches the Tantive V and saves the rebellion. Gilroy says "There is no Rogue One". In 2001, The Bourne Identity went through four rounds of reshoots, after going massively over budget and over schedule. The final product, partly directed and potentially edited by producer Frank Marshall instead of director Doug Liman, was a hit. Liman wasn't invited back for the sequel, but writer Tony Gilroy was. In 2016, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story went through six weeks of reshoots and a massive, post-directors cut re-edit, under the guidance of Tony Gilroy - initially as a writer, and later as a lot more. Lucasfilm would essentially bury his role during the film's promotion, but thanks to the Writers Guild of America, Gilroy got a screenplay credit. To do so, he essentially had to remake Rogue One. By early 2016, Rogue One had wrapped shooting and moved into the edit. Editors Jabez Olssen and Colin Goudie had been cutting the film since the day cameras rolled, but with director Gareth Edwards's loose, unplanned shooting style and habit of shooting images over story, the edit would take, according to Edwards, "three years". They had nine months. Meanwhile, in San Francisco, a complete different team were pouring over the Rogue One rushes to create a much shorter version of the film that would be seen by far more people: the trailers. Notably different to the films, the trailers have been the source of Rogue One conspiracy theories since the film's release, but was the film ever anything like the trailers? In August 2015, cameras rolled on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - and they rolled, and rolled. Gareth Edwards's unconventional shooting style emphasised improvisation not just in performance but also in blocking, camera placement, lighting and all other elements of filming. The film's two distinct shooting styles, initially separated as Empire and Rebellion, started to blur, and the pursuit of shots that felt good often overshadowed the script. The script, which was still changing, being passed between multiple script doctors after the shoot began. In 2013, Gareth Edwards pretended he was going to get lunch, and instead went to a meeting with Kiri Hart at Lucasfilm. He was one of a handful of promising young directors who'd been handpicked to direct a new Star Wars film, off the strength of his low-budget debut Monsters. Edwards was offered Destroyer of Worlds, originally pitched by VFX legend and Edwards's personal hero, John Knoll. Gary Whitta went into his meeting at Lucasfilm surprised to be considered for a film project at all, but his ideas hit the right note, naming basically every major influence Knoll had listed in his pitch. Whitta would write the first draft and come up with the film's title, Rogue One, before being replaced by Chris Weitz, Oscar nominated writer and noted Boba Fett hater. In the middle of all of this was Colin Goudie, an editor hired twelve months before Rogue One even started shooting, tasked with making the film out of other films. And make it possible to fix traumatic injuries that would otherwise cause death.  It will dramatically help save the lives of gun shot victims, solders on the battle field, sudden heart failure, drug overdose, and accidents.   Traumatic injuries from car accidents and shooting, are the leading cause of death in people under the age of 45. Topic: Falcon & The Winter Soldier Tutorial     We begin our Discussion on the Newest Marvel Show, Falcon & The Winter Soldier, which is our newest Marvel series.  Does it live up to Wanda Vision, check out next episode to find out.     Who is The Falcon?   Comic History First introduced in 1969, Samuel Wilson was rescued by Steve Rogers, Captain America, from a Caribbean island where the Red Skull had planned on experimenting on Sam.  After fighting the Red Skull, Sam would go on to continue working with Captain America.  It was during this first outing that he was given the power to telepathically communicate with Birds, especially a falcon her name Redwing, but the Red Skull and a Cosmic Cube.  It wasn't until 5 years later that he was given a pair of wings by Black Panther that allowed him to fly.   Falcon remained a loyal partner to Steve Roger, even helping train his replacements during time in which Steve stepped down as Captain America.  During this time, Falcon learned to command other birds beyond Redwing, and became capable of command multiple types of birds.  Falcon was also of the people to Steve Roger's Secret Avengers, opposing the Super-Human Registration Act, the main catalyst of the Civil War in the comics.    A major turning point in the character came in 2014, when Steve Roger has his Super Soldier serum neutralized, causing him to rapidly age to the age of 90.  Without the power of the serum, same passed on the shield and mantle of Captain America to the Falcon.  Falcon would go on to act as Captain America, utilizing the wings of Falcon and the Shield of Captain America.  His numerous adventures led to a new Avengers team, along with for a time, leaving SHIELD due to their work on a New Cosmic Cube.    SHIELD would eventually make their new Comic Cube, which took on the vestige of a young girl named Kobik.  During these eventually the original Captain America was dying, but Kobik revitalized Steve Rogers, allowing him to retake the title of Captain America.  This version of Steve Rogers however was a fascist version that was actually a sleeper agent for Hydra.  While Falcon's faith in American Government had wavered, he return the title of Captain America to Steve Rogers(Fascist), and departed the country to help elsewhere.    Upon Falcon's return, he learned that Steve Rogers(F) had taken up the mantle as the leader of Hydra.  Falcon returned to being Captain America once again, and assisted the Avengers in rebuilding the Cosmic Cube to help Kobik, who actually had the real Steve Rogers inside her.  Completing the Cube, freed Steve Rogers, and allowed him to beat the Steve Rogers(F).  Understanding that Steve Rogers could do more benefit as Captain American than he could, he returned the Mantle of Steve Roger, and returned to being just the Falcon.  Falcon, then working for a Veteran's Assistance group came across Bucky Barnes, and aided him in helping find soldiers that had gone missing.     Powers Avian Telepathy – Ability to communicate and commands birds. Master Martial Artist – After having trained with Steve Rogers, Falcon became a proficient fighter in various fighting styles and forms. Peak Human Condition – Including peak strength and endurance. Master Aerialist – As a flying hero, he is an amazing fighter in the air, some would say better than Ironman or Captain Marvel. Falcon Wings – A Set of Wakandan created Wings that give Falcon the power of flight. Captain America Shield + Uniform – Former     MCU Version The MCU version of Falcon Finds him as a former Rescue Paratrooper, who upon returning home find himself working the VA until he volunteers to help Steve Rogers during the events of Winter Soldier Movie.  He continues as an Avenger post Age of Ultron, and is the first to be on Steve Rogers side during the events of Civil War.  He is snapped out of existence at the end of Infinity War, only to return at end of Endgame.       Who is The Winter Soldier?   Comic History First introduced in 1940 as the young sidekick of Steve Rogers as Captain America, the James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes was the Teenage hero working alongside Steve Rogers during World War II.  Toward the end of the war in 1945, Captain America and Bucky were on the hunt for a bad guy, then the plane they were on was plummeting in to the Atlantic Ocean.  Both men attempted to escape, but Bucky's costume was snagged on the plan upon exiting, causing the plan to crash in to the ocean and for him to be presumed dead.  Captain America attempted to save his companion, but was sent into suspended animation, being frozen in the waters of the Atlantic.   In 1946, the Soviets were attempting to find Captain America, instead found Bucky, who had survived the crash, but who had lost his left arm and put in to a similar suspended animation like this mentor.  Though at the peak of human conditioning due to working and training alongside Captain America, Bucky survived and was reprogrammed by the Soviets to become their personal Assassin, the Winter Soldier.    As the Winter Soldier, he carried out the bulk of secret, and famous, Assassinations across the world for many years.  His left arm replaced with a new cybernetic arm when ever advancements in technology would allow.  He would at one point become the teacher and trainer for a young Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow, while she training.  They two developed a romantic relationship, but after a failed assassination mission, Bucky was deemed too unstable, and his mind was wiped after each mission, and placed in Suspended Animation until a mission was needed.   During an event in 2004, where the Winter Soldier was activated to steal the Red Skull's new Cosmic Cube, he met and fought with Captain America, who later learned that the Winter Soldier had been his best friend this entire time.  Using the power of the newly created Cosmic Cube, Captain America restored Bucky's memories, but the sudden rush of emotions and remorse over the life he had led caused Bucky to destroy the newly created Cosmic Cube, transporting him elsewhere in the process.    For the next few years, Bucky began hunting his captors, eliminating them and becoming a SHIELD secret agent for Nick Fury.  Following the Events of Civil War, Bucky blamed Tony Stark and Red Skull for killing Steve Rogers.  Bucky would eventually confront both men, but lost to the Red Skull.  And when confronting Tony Stark, Stark passed along Steve Roger's final wish for Bucky, that he save Bucky from his decent to violence and madness.  Tony Stark believing the best way to do this, was for Bucky to become the New Captain America. Bucky accepted, but wanted the mental implants removed, and that he answered to no one, not SHIELD or Tony Stark.   For the next few years, Bucky acted as Captain America, eventually winning over the Avengers and the US Government, on his way to reforming his life; he even rekindled his romance with Black Widow.  Even when Steve Rogers was revived and was capable of taking back the mantle of Captain America, he continued to let Bucky carry on the title, believing that he was the better individual to carry on that legacy, and that the world didn't need Two Captain Americas.    During the Fear Itself event, a villain powered by a similar Hammer to Thor's beat Bucky to within an inch of his life during an attack on Washington DC, saved by a Nick Fury and his ‘Infinity Formula'.  Steve Rogers took back up the mantle of Captain America after his friend seemingly thought dead, with Bucky believing it was better that he return to his Winter Soldier title instead.  Winter Soldier would continue to work behind the scene of super heroics, though seemingly out of the picture for a majority of the major events.    Bucky was a part of the team that went in to a Villains prison, in order to rescue the newly created Cosmic Cube, Kobik, and was seemingly there when Steve Rogers (F), was revived.  Years later, upon learning that the revived Steve Rogers was actually a Fascist version, he worked along side the Avengers to find the real Steve Rogers.  After helping complete the cube, he shrunk down in size with Ant Man and rescued the real Steve Rogers from the cube.     Powers Master Martial Artist – After having trained with Steve Rogers, Falcon became a proficient fighter in various fighting styles and forms. Peak Human Condition – Including peak strength and endurance. Infinity Formula – a diluted version of the Elixir of Life, it slows down the aging process and seemingly give the user peak physical conditions.  However, unlike Steve Roger's Super Soldier Serum, this Formula must be taken regularly once a year in order to stay in peak condition.  Prior to receiving it, Bucky had already been at Peak Human Condition, which only added to his skills. Cybernetic Arm – Replacing his missing left arm that was lost during World War II, his arm is improved with new technology over the years.     MCU Version The MCU Version follows very similar to Comics, aging up Bucky to be a similar age to Steve Rogers during World War II.  Bucky, unlike his Comics version, did receive an experimental version of the Super Soldier Serum, turning him into a Super Soldier in the process, though seemingly not to the point that it was noticeable by others.  Rather than being lost in the Ocean similar to Steve Rogers, he was instead lost over a ravine, only to be rescued by Hydra and turned in to the Winter Soldier.  Following the event of the Winter Soldier, Bucky left Hydra and began seeking out who he was, only to be blamed for an attack on Wakanda leader, King T'Chaka.  During the events of Civil War, Steve Roger protected Bucky, as he realized Bucky wasn't the enemy, only doing the bidding of programming by Hydra agents.  Bucky lost his initial cybernetic arm, but was rescued by Steve Rogers, who escaped to Wakanda with the help of the Black Panther.  While in Wakanda, he was deprogrammed and the mental implants were removed.  During the events of Infinity War, he aided Steve Rogers and other heroes in protecting Vision while the Mind Stone was being removed, receiving a new Vibranium Arm to replace his lost cybernetic arm.  He was snapped Away by Thanos, just like the Falcon, but returned during the Events of Endgame.     Cosmic Cube Cosmic Cubes are cube objects that allow for reality manipulation, control over matter and energy, and basically answers to the sentient being owning them, often being considered omni-wish granting devices.  Their creation is generally a well guarded secret and very difficult, but by opening up a portal to a universe inhabited by ‘Beyonders', you can suck out some of the energy in that universe and contain it in a cube.    The Cosmic Cube typically get created and wielded by individuals without any spectacular super powers, like the Red Skull.  They're a common source of conflict within Captain America stories, as they're the common focus and creation by those seeking more power.  While on a similar level to Infinity Stones, they're not nearly as powerful and omnipotent, as they can't effect time or the soul.    In the MCU, the Tesseract was considered a Cosmic Cube, before it was determined that it was the Space Stone in hiding.      Where are we at in the Marvel Timeline? Prior to the Events of Endgame, half of all life in the universe was snapped away, both Sam and Bucky included.  While Endgame only shows a tiny bit of the life returning to normal, Bucky went on to work with the US Government as a deep cover agent, working to root out Hydra agents, and trying to make amends for the damage he did.  Falcon continued working alongside the Military, continuing his work as an Avenger.    As a part of re-intergrating those lost by the Snap, and returned during the Blip, the Global Repatriation Council was created to aid those returning from the Blip.  As a part of their work, they reinstated country boundaries and aimed to return those snapped away back to their old lives.  However, any refugees from other countries ended up buying or moving in to new homes and places left behind by those who were Snapped away, and upon the return of original owners, many of those refugees were forcibly removed by the owner or local governments from their new homes, and placed into resettlement camps.  Many in these camps resent the GRC, as they are poor infrastructure and lack of supplies necessary for those that were displaced.  As of recent the GRC, in an effort to return to the world of 5 years prior to the snap, has begun implementing deportation for refugees to their original countries of origin, which has only increased anger and tensions of the Refugees.

Elbert Stevens owned a sawmill in Bridgewater Corners, Vermont at the turn of the last century. His people had been in the area for time out of mind and he was known as a man who, like the bedrock that makes up the state, was solid, strong, and in a word, reliable. He was also a keeper of things, never one to discard anything that might be of use later, a habit practiced by many folks of his age and caliber. You never know when you might need something later - usually after you threw it out the year before. Such people kept things, just in case. One of those possessions was a scrapbook, a place to glue the memorable tidbits of news and marginalia found in the papers and almanacs read during those long Vermont winter evenings when the wind howled outside the door like wolves. He hadn't started the scrapbook - it had merely been handed down to him from a family member long gone, but he held it as something precious for within those pages was something incredible and truly fantastic, a tale told by lamplight on the darkest nights of year, when the cold seeped in from the bottom of the door and made you wonder - how cold is too cold? The thought of it was enough to keep him reading and rereading it over the years, especially on those long, cold winter nights and it set his mind wondering. Can such things be? That relative had left Elbert a story clipped from a newspaper now long out of print and forgotten, prior to the American Civil War, in the 1830s. The paper's name was not on the clipping. Fading to yellow, the old newsprint held the story recounted by an unnamed traveler who recalled a practice he had personally witnessed in the far hills of northern Vermont. Later, author Robert Wilson would write of this clipping in the pages of Yankee Magazine, first in April of 1940 and again in March of 1963. So we are several steps away from a primary source, but the idea is one so singularly strange that it bears retelling. Elbert Stevens recalls, “I am an old man now and have seen some strange sights in the course of a roving life in foreign lands as well as in this country, but none so strange as the one I found recorded in an old diary kept by my Uncle William that came into my possession a few years ago at his decease.” Elbert claims to have been to the location of the events described in the article, about twenty miles from Vermont's capital, Montpelier. A log cabin on a mountainside still stood where the traveler claims this all took place. Elbert even claimed to have spoken with an old man about the events in the story and the old fellow claimed that his own father was one of those folk who spent the winter in a kind of frozen death, what scientists today might call ‘suspended animation.' Scientists have long known about the ability of certain animals who can hibernate - slow down their natural processes to such a degree that they persist in a kind of torpor, a state of sleep so deep, they conserve energy and most efficiently use fat and water in their body so that they can stand the long, low temperatures of northern climates. Bears, turtles, snakes, groundhogs, bats, even bumblebees all possess the ability to enter this state, known to scientists as heterothermy. As the core body temperature drops below 95 degrees, the metabolic rate decreases, the heart beats slowly, respiration slows, as well. The body temperature of these creatures lowers, as well, and fat deposits are called upon to feed the furnace of the body instead of ingesting food. Certainly old-timers who had to hunt to bring home fresh meat in the winter, would have been aware that some creatures effectively disappeared in the winter. Where did they go? But the idea that humans might be able to hibernate seems against all prior knowledge and reason. But what of hypothermia, the slow freezing deathlike state that comes before the final heartbeat of those humans who are exposed to winter's fury? The cells in the body begin to freeze at 31.1 degrees, and cell walls rupture as the water within them freezes, crystallizes and bursts through cell walls, resulting in frostbite. Freezing to death comes on like a shiver but ends with the body becoming warm and comfortable as the blood abandons extremities and concentrates around internal organs, resulting in a quiet, almost blissful sleep-state, followed by death. Some people have been able to last for hours and slowly be brought back from the brink of life with slow and deliberate coaxing of the temperature and the metabolism until the victims awaken and recover. Surgeons use something called therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest, a state where the heart stops beating and blood is no longer going to the brain or other organs as it should. By lowering the body's temperature, the damage done to the brain and other organs is lessened. They use this technique on people whose hearts have stopped, then restarted but who have not reawakened. Cooling them to very cold levels for 24 hours improves their chances of awakening and recovering. We know a lot about how the human body responds to the cold and we're learning more. If the body's core temperature can be lowered and maintained with no long-term damage to cells or organs, such techniques might one day help humans travel the vast distances involved in space travel. To conserve food and the energy to warm these future astronauts, putting them in a state of suspended animation would solve many of the problems with long-term deep space flight. But we don't know how to do such a thing, not yet. We are doing the research, but such functional practices are still the stuff of science fiction. What, then, do we make of this anonymous traveler's story told so long ago? You be the judge. Perhaps the good people of northern Vermont knew something we have yet to prove, yet to comprehend. Here are his words: “The account runs in this wise. January 7 - I went on the mountain today and witnessed what to me was a horrible sight. It seems that the dwellers there who are unable either from age or other reasons to contribute to the support of their families are disposed of in the winter months in a manner that will shock the one who reads this diary unless that person lives in the vicinity. “I will describe what I saw. Six persons, four men and two women, the man a cripple about 30 years old, the other five past the age of usefulness, lay on the earthly floor of the cabin drugged into insensibility, while members of the families were gathered about them in apparent indifference. In a short time the unconscious bodies were inspected by several old people who said, ‘They are ready.' “They were then stripped of all their clothing except a single garment. Then the bodies were carried outside and laid on logs exposed to the bitter cold mountain air, the operation having been delayed several days for suitable weather. “It was a night when the bodies were carried out and the full moon occasionally obscured by flying clouds, shone on their upturned, ghastly faces and a horrible fascination kept me by the bodies as long as I could endure the severe cold. “Soon the noses, ears, and fingers began to turn white, then the limbs and faces assumed a tallowy look. I could stand the cold no longer and went inside, where I found the friends in cheerful conversation. In about an hour I went out and looked at the bodies. They were fast freezing. “Again I went inside where the men were smoking their clay pipes but silence had fallen on them. Perhaps they were thinking of the time when their time would come to be carried out, for in the same way, one by one, they at last lay down on the floor and went to sleep. “I could not shut out the sight of their freezing bodies outside, neither could I bear to be in darkness, but I piled on wood in the cavernous fireplace and seated on a shingle block passed the dreary night, terror stricken by the horrible sights I had witnessed. “January 8 - Day came at length but did not dissipate the terror that filled me. The frozen bodies became visibly white on the snow that lay in huge drifts about them. The women gathered about the fire and soon commenced preparing breakfast. The men awoke, and conversation again commencing, affair assumed a more cheerful aspect. “After breakfast the men lit their pipes and some of them took a yoke of oxen and went off toward the forest, while others proceeded to nail together boards making a box about 10 feet long and half as high and wide. When this was completed they placed about two feet of straw on the bottom. Then they laid three frozen bodies in the straw. Then the faces and upper part of the bodies were covered with cloth; then more straw was put in the box and the other three bodies placed on top, and covered the same as the first ones, with cloth and straw. “Boards were then firmly nailed on top to protect the bodies from being injured by carnivorous animals that made their home on these mountains. By this time the men who went off with the ox team returned with a huge load of spruce and hemlock boughs which they unloaded at the foot of a steep ledge, came to the house and loaded the box containing the bodies on the sled and drew it to the foot of the ledge near the boughs. “These were soon piled on and around the box and it was left to be covered with snow which I was told would lay in drifts 20 feet deep over this rude tomb. ‘We shall want our men to plant our corn next Spring,' said a youngish-looking woman, the wife of one of the frozen men, ‘and if you want to see them resuscitated, you come here about the 10th of next May.'” Musical Interlude In America alone, over three hundred human beings have been frozen in cryogenic facilities with the hope that at some future date, these people - usually only their heads or brains, for the bodies are never frozen - all have one thing in common: they were all dead when they were put into a frozen state. Cryoprotective agents have been injected, but this biological antifreeze has toxic effects at the cellular level. At the molecular level, so much damage will have been done that only something like some kind of advanced nanotechnology will be able to affect repairs, along with an artificial intelligence capable of monitoring every single cell in a biological system. Who knows if consciousness will ever return to these brains? At the moment, it seems impossible. But the hope is that the future will offer scientific advances sufficient to bring the dead back to life. That's the hope, and hope is often all that is left when every other avenue has been exhausted. Will we ever bring the frozen dead of our modern scientific world back to life? It is doubtful, but perhaps not impossible. But what of the frozen folk in northern Vermont, buried in a box with tree boughs and straw? How does the unnamed traveler end his tale? He continues… “May 10 - I arrived here at 10 A.M. after riding about four hours over muddy, unsettled roads. The weather here is warm and pleasant, most of the snow gone except here and there there are drifts in the fence corners and hollows. But nature is not yet dressed in green. “We repaired at once to the well-remembered spot at the ledge. The snow had melted from the top of the brush, but still lay deep around the bottom of the pile. The men commenced work at once, some shoveling, and others tearing away the brush. Soon the box was visible. The cover was taken off, the layers of straw removed and the bodies, frozen and apparently lifeless, lifted out and laid on the snow. “I found the same prairies here I left last January ready to disinter the bodies of their friends. I had no expectations of finding any life there, but a feeling that I could not resist impelled me to come and see. Large troughs made out of hemlock logs were placed nearby filled with tepid water, into which the bodies were placed separately with the head slightly raised. Boiling water was then poured into the troughs from kettles hung on poles nearby until the water was as hot as I could hold my hand in. Hemlock boughs had been put in the boiling water in such quantities that they had given the water the color of wine. “After lying in the bath for about an hour, color began to return to the bodies, when all hands began rubbing and chafing them. This continued about an hour when a slight twitching of the muscles of the face and limbs, followed by audible gasps showed that life was not quenched and that vitality was returning. “Spirits were then given in small quantities and allowed to trickle down their throats. Soon they could swallow and more was given them when their eyes opened and they began to talk, and finally sat up in their bathtubs. “They were taken out and assisted to the house where after a hearty meal they seemed as well as ever and in nowise injured, but rather refreshed by their long sleep of four months.” Can such things be true? There is no real proof that this story is anything more than that - just a story. But what a story! If one suspends disbelief and considers the story as factual, one wonders - how many times have these people been put into the frozen suspended state? One year, several years? Did some fail to resuscitate? How was such a process discovered in the first place? If this was a real process, surely it is fantastical and audacious enough to be recalled by anyone who knew of its existence. But all we have is one unnamed traveler's account. Still, even if it is just a story, put yourself in a small parlor with the fire burning against the awesome cold of a northern New England deep winter night, the family huddled together before bedtime and mother or father pulling out the old scrapbook. You've heard the story before, but it never fails to make you wonder - and shiver a little more from the story than from the cold. As the story is read, you look outside the window at the vault of stars twinkling overhead and see in the distance, against a ledge, a pile of boughs covered with snow. You cannot help but wonder what lies beneath.
