Wonderful People with Joseph Butler

Thank you for joining me for episode 3 of Wonderful People. My name is Joseph Butler and today I'll be interviewing a friend I recently met named Joe Biaggne. We met on a film set while helping a local director and I was immediately interested in hearing his story.  As expected, this conversation didn't disappoint. Joe tells me about his life growing up with a congenital heart defect and all the ways it has shaped him. I was a little caught off guard, to be honest. When I originally asked Joe to join me for a conversation it was solely based on a few brief interactions. He was a nice guy who I enjoyed chatting with,  so it caught me by surprise when he began telling me about his life. In the end, I was left with so much admiration for the person he is and the path that got him to today.I could mention more but I think it's best to just let him tell you his story.P.S. Joe left a little "easter egg" at the end of the episode for everyone's listening pleasure. Turn up your audio to hear his heart valve ticking like a clock.A few things to note:This one was a pain in the ass to edit. For some reason my editing tool was giving me trouble so after two editing sessions I wiped my hands and called it good. It should be pretty good now but my apologies if there's any skipping or uneven audio levels.I'm kicking myself for not getting a picture of Joe while he was here. Seriously - the most amazing outfit I've seen. Dude has style.Joe came into my home after the interview and got to meet my wife, kids, dog and cats. He was such a great guy and had us all laughing at his stories. If you're in the Eugene area give him an Insta shout. I'd wager to bet he'd make you laugh, too.Alright. that's all.Intro/Outro Music: Q and Not U - "Y Plus White Girl"** Big thanks to Chris Richards and the Dischord Records crew for graciously helping this little podcast out w/the music rights.

Wonderful People with Joseph Butler

Thank you for joining me for episode 1 of Wonderful People!  My name is Joseph Butler and today I'll be airing an interview with a local artist who goes by the name of Patches Flows. I met Patches a while back at a local flea market and over the past year or two I've come across his name one place or another and found him to be a really interesting guy.  I figured there's no better way to kick off this show than by airing a conversation with someone who has such a diverse background and passion for creating the life he envisions for himself. I hope you enjoy our conversation.A few things to note about this initial podcast:No pens were hurt during the making of this podcast.I have never hated hearing my voice as much as I did editing this podcast. I speak slowly at times and use words over and over again. Bare with me, I'm just getting the hang of it.That said, you'll catch me fumbling around concepts and questions at times because I was a little nervous. Feel free to skip past my sections but I encourage you to listen to Patches' sections. He is such an interesting and concise thinking guy, it really was a delight to hear his thoughts and stories. At one point toward the end we discuss a famous beatboxer, who I mistakenly refer to as "Raekwon". Yes, I know that's not his name. What I meant to say was "Rahzel" from The Roots. If you haven't heard the clip of him beatboxing (Are you kidding me? You've NEVER heard it!?)Intro/Outro Music: Q and Not U - "Y Plus White Girl"** Big thanks to Chris Richards and the Dischord Records crew for graciously helping this little podcast out w/the music rights.

Mr. Joe, Joe Drew, and Jerry will be at a promotional event tonight and debut their show in Charlotte, NC. They are dedicated to volunteerism and community involvement. It's great to see these men making a difference with every project they touch, create, and become involved in.    There Is Hope, Inc., is a community based, non-profit outreach program.   Since the year 2000, our vision has been to “Empower a Young Generation for the Future”.  One of our main goals is to see the young generation turn to God, by taking His message of hope into their schools and communities. We are in the search for like-minded young and older people to join hands to empower the youth (students) with valuable information spiritually and educational.  Your ministry or organization can be a vital resource to this united mission.   The devil is a thief, robber, and he desires to kill off our sons and daughters. We realize there is a great famine in the land, not only for the natural food, but for the word of God.  And, I will be the first one to say, we have fallen short to arise and shine for the glory of God! It is high time to go out into this world and take back what the devil has stolen, by UNITING as Christians, Youth Leaders, and Community Leaders.  We need to sense the heart of God, see His tears for the young generation that is dying without hope and have no vision of a real future. We are at war for the lives of our sons and daughters, and we know, PRAYER changes things but afterPrayer we must put to action what we are instructed to do. The Lord stated to us in His Word (Jeremiah 33:3), “Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not.”  We believe God, as we bring together youth (students) through “Hope Rall

The 88th Joint Session of the Aristotelian Society and the Mind Association was held at the University of Cambridge from 11 to 13 July 2014. The Joint Session is a three-day conference in philosophy that is held annually during the summer by the Aristotelian Society and the Mind Association. It has taken place at nearly every major university across the United Kingdom and in Ireland. Since 1910, the Joint Session has grown to become the largest gathering of philosophers in the country, attracting prestigious UK and international speakers working in a broad range of philosophical areas. Inaugurated by the incoming President of the Mind Association, the Joint Session includes symposia, open and postgraduate sessions, and a range of satellite conferences. This podcast is a recording of the inaugural address to the Joint Session - "Reasons for Belief, Perception and Reflective Knowledge" - which was delivered by the President of the Mind Association, Alan Millar (Stirling). Alan Millar received his first degree from the University of Edinburgh and then a Ph.D from the University of Cambridge. He was appointed to the University of Stirling in 1971, becoming a Professor of Philosophy in 1994. He has been Professor Emeritus at Stirling since 2010. In 2005 he was elected to a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. He is a member of the Editorial Board of The Philosophical Quarterly and has served on the Executive Committee of the Aristotelian Society. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Royal Institute of Philosophy. His main areas of interest are epistemology and the philosophy of mind and language, though he has made occasional contributions to the history of ethics that deal with ideas of Joseph Butler and John Stuart Mill.
