There's a battle for Ringo Vinda, a massive space station surrounding an entire planet. Anakin leads the clones, along with twin Jedi sisters Tiplee and Tiplar, against the Separatist droid onslaught of the station. Anakin relays his battle plan, with Fives and Tup to assist the twins. Unfortunately Tup is overcome with a headache and a sneer forms as he says the word “Jedi.” During a final push on the droids, with victory in sight, Tup loses it and shoots Tiplar, killing her.The Separatist Admiral Spacetimes(™) with Dooku and informs him of the clone's behavior, calling him “entranced.” Dooku Spacetimes(™) with Sidious that the clone's behavior could ruin his plan; Sidious tells Dooku to capture the clone.Tup repeats the phrase “good soldiers follow orders” multiple times before finally lunging at Tiplee with another muttered “kill the Jedi.” Anakin and the clones decide to send Tup back to Kamino for examination believing it could be some sort of biological warfare designed against the clones. While departing, some Iron Man Mark 2 droids overtake the ship and capture Tup. Anakin devises a plan to reclaim Tup. They track his signal, space walk, hitch a ride, board the ship, and get him back. With this, they are now ready to send him back to Kamino. Now Rex and Fives are taking him back to Kamino for intensive evaluation. They meet with Master Shaak Ti and Kaminoan scientist Nala Se. Shaak Ti explains that Tup's actions may be the result of a virus, and Fives could also be infected. Rex, who has been with Fives and Tup this whole time, is sent back to the battlefield to spread the virus to as many clones as possible. After further consideration, Shaak Ti argues that Tup's condition is purely mental and caused by Separatist brain washing. She wants an atomic brain scan to prove it, which may kill the weakened Tup. Nala Se, on the other hand, states this is a virus or physical ailment, and prefers to perform an autopsy, which will very likely kill the weakened Tup. They depart to inform their superiors, where we learn from Nala Se and Lama Su that this is actually part of 'clone protocol 66', and Tup's inhibitor chip has been activated early. They contact Lord Tyranus via SpaceTime(™), who explains they must keep the inhibitor chips secret from the Jedi.Shaak Ti contacts the Jedi Council via SpaceTime(™), who order her to bring Tup back to the Jedi Council for examination. Meanwhile, Fives has convinced medical droid AZI-3 via unbreakable computer logic that AZI-3 must perform the potentially fatal atomic brain scan - if they don't, Tup might die! One space MRI later, AZI-3 and Fives learn that Tup has a brain tumor of some sort that might be causing his condition, before they can investigate further, Nala Se arrives to explain that the tumor doesn't exist. Fives isn't going to let little things like orders or pushy customer service reps stop him from saving a friend, so AZI-3 hacks the Gibson and creates a fake intruder alert just in time to prevent Tup's euthanasia. AZI-3 removes the 'tumor'. Once removed, Tup awakens, talking of the mission in the Clones' dreams that never ends. Declaring the nightmare over and himself free, Tup promptly dies!Shaak Ti and Nala Se contact Chancellor Palpatine to inform him of the death of Tup and the discovery of the tumor. Shaak Ti says it will be sent to the Jedi Temple for study, but Palpatine has a better idea - send it to the Grand Republic Medical Facility, which is state of the art, and also under his control.https://twitter.com/ClosingCrawlhttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/closing-crawl/id1530133296https://www.closingcrawl.com/Merch at: https://bit.ly/spacetimetm
While Skirata searches for a missing Kaminoan scientist, Omega Squad uncovers a secret that may shake the G.A.R. to its core.
Gifted with precognitive Force visions, over a decade before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas, who had a seat on the Jedi High Council prior to the occupation of Naboo, commissioned the Kaminoans to grow a clone army for the Galactic Republic. The Jedi Master had experienced visions of the galaxy being ravaged by a coming war, but when he attempted to warn his fellow Jedi about it, his colleagues on the Council didn't believe him and when the Jedi Master wouldn't let go of his notions, the Order removed him from the High Council. Certain in the veracity of the visions the Force had revealed to him,Sifo-Dyas instead decided to pursue the matter on his own in secret. He believed the Republic would need an army of their own to prevail against the coming darkness. So, pretending to work under the authorization of the Jedi Council and the Galactic Senate, Sifo-Dyas made contact with the Kaminoan cloners, and asked them to create the Grand Army of the Republic for him. However, unknown to the Jedi Master, the Sith had become aware of his project and they began to engineer events so control of the clones would fall to them instead. Learn more about your ad choices. Two really fun episodes! I enjoyed these ones particularly because of the senate dealings which really dived into the transition of the stormtrooper army from the clones. I love how we got Rex and Palpatine returning in these. We enter the senate and Rampart and Chuchi go head to head. She makes a massive claim that he was responsible for diverting Kaminoan funding outside of cloning without senate approval. The crowd makes noise as Rampart tries to move on from the question as she grills him. She then goes for it and accuses him of destroying Tipoca City himself. She's voted out of the senate for such a claim until the boys hand Omega the files, who hands it to Bail, who hands it to Senator Chuchi. They play the recording for all to see, and it's the Venators destroying Tipoca City. The jig is up, and I couldn't believe they actually showed this, I thought it'd be all over for the empire, until the floor opens up just as it did when yoda fought palpatine, and we see Palpatine in his pod, rising, Mas Amedda next to him. Ian McDiarmid voicing Palptine as he should, brilliantly twists the scenario into his favour. They arrest Rampart, and blame him for being rogue. He thanks Chuchi for exposing a rogue element in the empire's ranks. Palpatine says he'll be punished, however, he didn't act alone. He blames the clones, too, and asks the senate if they really trust such a callous maneuver by such beings. He believes this legislation is their future, and that the imperial storm troopers will protect everyone from such things ever happening again. Brilliantly he had a backup plan should he be exposed, and the twisted everything to his advantage. The fate of all clones are now doomed from this. Either way, they were doomed. Doctor Hemlock arrives and i think he's like the original dr pershing who looked after baby yoda in the mandalorian. He's probably the head doctor of cloning or experiments for the empire now. He speaks to imprisoned Mistress Se, aka Nala Se who looked after Omega on Kamino. He asks her if she wants to be part of such a scientific achievement of all there work here. I think she's there to hopefully help them in the life support and medical health of their cloned monsters and experiments. They go to the crashed ship, transport 904 which is near a village on a planet. As they enter, they find the electrostaff from the clone commando, and they realize something bad happened here, and whatever it was, wasn't human. We get a super dark horror scene vibe from this episode and it's really fun to see. The ineterior of the ship has a full on cloning lab in it. Omega recognizes the equipment as Kaminoan, but she doesn't recognize any of the electronics as it's different from the ones used on Kamino. They finally come across the beast and try to shoot it when it runs away to charge up by eating electricity. They eventually shoot an opening out of the ship and the Zillo beast escapes to the village, Tech and Omega head to the lab inside the ship to find out what the creature is. As Wrecker and Hunter head to the ship to try and stop the beast. feeding on another electrical station, the beast grows massively as he transforms into the zillo beast just like we saw on Coruscant. The Zillo Beast is incredibly powerful and nearly invulnerable, with a thick, armored hide that is impervious to blaster fire. The Republic forces eventually manage to subdue the beast and bring it back to Coruscant for study. However, they soon discover that the Zillo Beast is highly intelligent and possesses a level of consciousness that rivals that of many sentient beings. Palpatine sees an opportunity to use the Zillo Beast's powerful hide for his own purposes and orders its destruction. This leads to a confrontation between the beast and the Jedi, who are conflicted about the ethics of killing such a unique and powerful creature. In the end, the Zillo Beast is killed by a toxic gas, but not before it unleashes its wrath on the city and nearly kills Palpatine himself. The incident raises questions about the morality of using living beings as tools and foreshadows the dark turn that Palpatine's rule will take in the future. The cloned Zillo Beast is now fully grown and impossible for the bad batch to stop, which is when the Empire shows up out of hyperspace in super star destroyers, as gun ships with clone commandos in them fly out. Taking out the Zillo Beast clone as they scoop him up. The Empire arrests all the citizens of the village as no one can know what the Empire is doing with their evil cloning projects. Remember Andor? The Empire wants to keep everyone quiet if something gets leaked, and if not, they want to keep a facade like they're up to nothing nefarious or questionable. The Bad Batch get out of there and blast off into hyperspace, as we see Clone Commandos harness the zillo beast clone in a tube of gooey water. The crew discover that palpatine had ordered to clone the zillo beast back when he was just the chcanellor and not the emperor. Tech deduces that the empire didn't destroy Tipoca city on Kamino to destroy the cloning facilities, but merely to control them without anyone the wiser. Hunter tells Tech to send this intel to Rex and Echo. Doctor Hemlock speaks with former prime minister lama su, as he complains that Nala Se, his chief scientists, isn't cooperating. Lama Su gives up information on how to command Nala Se to doing what he wants, which is working as the scientist for all the empire's nefarious cloning experiments. Lama Su tells him to capture Omega who is the key to controlling Nala Se. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Picking up only moments after last week's episode, the season finale of 'The Bad Batch' spent much of its 28 minute runtime alternating between action set pieces, as the squad works to stay alive as Tapoka City sinks into the Kaminoan sea, and hard hitting dialogue scenes as the show unpacks Crosshair's emotional turmoil. For my money, it's the those dialogue scenes that really hit home and make this finale work. Where as I wasn't as concerned for the squads survival during the set pieces, knowing a season 2 was on the way. We are treated to continued exchanges between Hunter and Crosshair that dive deep into Crosshair's damaged psyche and make you feel genuine pity and sadness for the character. To me it's another sign that the show is willing, and capable, of tell complex stories and sets up a fascinating season 2. Overall, the first season of 'The Bad Batch' has to be considered a success. The animation quality took another step forward (the water effects alone in this episode are enough to blow me away) and the storytelling was generally consistent across the season (looking at you "Infested"). It's by far the best first season of any Lucasfilm Animation series, and as a season finale it holds its own against some of the absolute bests in Star Wars. Note that Small Screen Star Wars will now go on a short break. Though we will return for bonus episodes and discussions on upcoming Star Wars projects. On this final installment of "We Are The Bad Batch" for Season 1, we cover events happening on the final three episodes (14 - 16). We discuss the betrayal of the Kaminoans by the Empire, the capture of Kaminoan scientists for future Imperial projects, and the destruction of the Kaminoan facilities by the Empire. We also discuss the similarity between what happened on Kamino to what happened to the planet of Geonosis - both planets and their citizens were essentially useful idiots for the Empire - when their usefulness expired, so did they. Don't be a useful idiot! We will be back for more "We Are The Bad Batch" episode for Season 2 when it drops! Welcome back to the season 1 finale of Star Wars The Bad Batch Episode 16 "Kamino Lost". We say farewell to Hunter, Omega, Crosshair, Tech, Echo and Wrecker as we discuss the finale in spoiler filled detail. Until next season. The Bad Batch Episode 16 "Kamino Lost" Synopsis Series Created by: Jennifer Corbett, Dave Filoni, Brad Rau Episode Written by: Jennifer Corbett Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz Episode Directed By: Saul Ruiz With a hail of laser fire raining down from Vice Admiral Rampart's Venator-class Starships the cloning facilities of Kamino crack apart. With the Kaminoan facility breaking apart around them, the Bad Batch, their new droid AZI and a sour Crosshair have to make it to their ship, the Havoc Marauder, to escape. Making their way from the central buildings to Nala Se's private lab is fraught with danger. Separated by blast doors from the bad Batch and with seawater rapidly encroaching in their enclosed chamber, Omega struggles to free Crosshair trapped under a fallen rebar. Using her ingenuity she manages to free him and reunites with her team. As they reach the lab, where they were all previously cloned and experimented on, the disintegrating facility detaches and falls to the bottom of the Kaminoan ocean. To free themselves from a watery grave the team use their original testing tubes and, guided by AZI, float themselves to the surface. When AZI and Omega are trapped trying to escape, Crosshair uses his deadshot skills to save them. Finally reaching their destination the Bad Batch offers to take Crosshair with them but he refuses. Omega pleads with him saying he is a brother to them all, but Crosshair's mind's made up - Kamino, the Republic, regulation clone troopers and the Bad Batch are over, in their place the Empire will rise and he will be part of it. With his faith in the Empire, he stays behind hoping to be rescued by Imperial scouts; while the Bad Batch board their ship and leave. Meanwhile, on another world, Kaminoan lead cloning scientist Nala Se is delivered to a new imperial base and the Empire has many new projects that require her expertise. John and Derek get together to chat all about Star Wars The Bad Batch Episode 14 "War-Mantle". We discuss all the big moments, revelations and some Easter eggs in our spoiler filled chat. The Bad Batch Episode 14 "Infested" Synopsis Series Created by: Jennifer Corbett, Dave Filoni, Brad Rau Episode Written by: Damani Johnson Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz Episode Directed By: Steward Lee In the middle of another off-world job for Cid, The Bad Batch are contacted by former Clone Captain Rex. He's received a distress call from a former comrade, CC-5576 also known as Captain Gregor, from the planet Daro. Convinced by Omega that it's their duty to help, the team go to Daro to find the missing trooper. On Kamino, under direction from Vice Admiral Rampart, every clone trooper, young and old, in the cloning facility is ordered to leave the planet. Prime Minister Lama Su is even more concerned at these events as the Empire has cancelled all contracts with the Kaminoeans for any future cloning and so he arranges transport off planet for all essential workers including himself. Back on Daro while trying to locate Captain Gregor, Hunter discovers a massive hidden facility in the mountains. Security is high but despite the overwhelming odds Hunter, Tech and Echo find and free the missing Captain. During their escape, in a tussle with these new “TK” troopers, the Bad Batch discover these are not Clones. Captain Gregor reveals that this facility is filled with volunteers loyal to the Empire under Project “War-Mantle.” These new recruits are known as “Storm-Troopers” and there is an endless supply of them in the galaxy. With the Bad Batch stranded on top of the mountain pursued by Storm Troopers, Wrecker and Omega fly the Havoc Marauder in to save them. In the confusion of the rescue, Hunter falls out of reach and he orders the batch to leave him behind and they reluctantly comply and Hunter is taken prisoner. Meanwhile on Kamino, Vice Admiral Rampart discovers the Kaminoan escape plot and feeling that politicians will be of little use to him, Rampart takes Nala Se and her team of scientists with him and orders for the Prime Minister to stay behind. As Hunter stews in his prison cell on Daro he gets a visit from Crosshair. He was hoping they'd catch the full team, but Hunter will have to do. When I finally came to, I awoke in a wool cot, next to my brothers from a variety of other legions. My head was pounding, I looked down at my body to see a variety of scars and bandages. My vision still blurred, I looked to my left to see a Kaminoan doctor. Great... survive 3 battles to only be sent to one of these hospitals... or am I home? The doctor came over to me and said after a few minutes I should be able to continue my duties as normal but to be careful and to not push my limits as I underwent quite the amount of trauma.
on this episode max and tony and I talk about god knows what we were baked for the whole thing lol

"Orders" is episode 4 from season 6 of the Clone Wars series, and the final episode of the season-opening story arc. Unfortunately - for our characters, that is - it ends about as badly as you would expect it to, if you've already seen Revenge of the Sith. Fives has been brought to Coruscant to present his discoveries to Chancellor Palpatine himself, but before that happens, Kaminoan collaborator Nala Se injects Fives with an unknown substance. Surprise surprise, when Fives is left alone in a room with Palpatine and his guard, Fives goes nuts and tries to kill everyone. Shaak Ti saves Palpatine and Fives goes on the run, and from there, well, let's just say that this Clone Wars Briefing is a full-spoiler show, and leave it at that. We'll talk about the rest today, and also thrown in a wee book review for R2-D2 Is Lost! Thanks to Disney Lucasfilm Press for sending me a review copy - it's out wherever you buy books as of today, and it's a fun ride for your younger readers. There are plenty of references to Return of the Jedi, a story that covers a lot of ground in a short amount of time, and also features Artoo throwing shade at Threepio, which is always good fun. Punch it! ***I'm listener supported! Join the community at http://Patreon.com/sw7x7 to get access to bonus episodes and other insider rewards.***
"Fugitive" is episode 3 from season 6 of the Clone Wars, and we're now going from battlefield action to medical investigation to sci-fi thriller in our genre-busting first story arc of the season. It's a wild ride, and it works fantastically well. Fives is supposed to be undergoing one last test before he's shipped back to the 501st, but medical droid AZI-3 says he's heard Fives is going to be reprogrammed and kept on Kamino as a sanitation worker. That, obviously, doesn't go over well with Fives, who overpowers his escort and goes on the run with AZI-3. During the course of the episode, Fives learns that the rabbit hole related to Tup's "tumor" goes very, very deep indeed, and leads to a shocking revelation - one thqt can't end well in any way, shape, or form, unfortunately. And it also raised the question for me about viewing order. We all like to discuss the best order in which to view the Star Wars movies, but this series of episodes makes a strong case for recommending that they be seen before Revenge of the Sith. I'll be talking about all of that and more in today's Clone Wars Briefing, but settling the matter of the proper pronunciation of "Kaminoan." Punch it! ***I'm listener supported! Rex, designation CT-7567, was a veteran clone trooper captain and Advanced Recon Commando who oversaw Torrent Company of the Grand Army of the Republic's famed 501st Legion during the Clone Wars. Clone troopers were highly trained soldiers in the Grand Army of the Republic, the armed forces of the Galactic Republic in its final years. Bred from the genetic template of the bounty hunter Jango Fett. Control chips, also known as inhibitor chips, were a type of organic bio-chip capable of dictating or responding to the thoughts of its host. Kaminoan cloners implanted them within each clone trooper in the Grand Army of the Republic. You can connect with us on Instagram, Twitter, or email the show at RebelsRebelsPod@gmail.com.
