Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHIt's a lawless time, y'all. Organized crime syndicates are running a muck since the fall of the Galactic Republic, forcing others to fight for survival. On the industrial ship-building planet Corellia, Lady Proxima, leader of the White Worms gang, is after a hyperfuel known as coaxium. That's when we meet Han. He is trying to escape Corellia for good. He feels confident he can do that after getting his hands on some coaxium. His girlfriend Qi'ra is pumped. But as they go to escape, they are found by some of Proxima's baddies and are taken to her. He's like oh I don't have an coaxium, but what i do have is THIS! He pulls out a rock and throws it through a window which lets in light which Proximia and her species are allergic to and they escape! But it does take long for them to catch up with him and a chase ensues. They bribe an Imperial officer at a spaceport for passage off-world. Han makes it through, but Qi'ra is captured at the last moment. Separated by a security gate, Han promises to return for her.Alone and desperate, Han enlists in the Imperial Navy. When asked for his surname, he's called “Solo” since he claims to have no family. Fast forward three years, Han has been expelled from flight school for acting a fool and is now down in the mud of a battle. There, he encounters a group of thieves disguised as soldiers—Tobias Beckett, Val, and Rio. When Han tries to blackmail his way into their crew, Beckett has him arrested and thrown into a pit with a deadly creature: a Wookiee named Chewbacca.Han and Chewbacca form a quick alliance, escaping together and convincing Beckett to take them in. Realizing Chewbacca's brute strength is valuable, Beckett agrees. The crew sets off for their next job—stealing coaxium from a moving train. The heist goes sideways when they're ambushed by a gang of pirates. Rio is fatally shot, Val sacrifices herself, and the coaxium is lost in the chaos.Beckett reveals they were working for Dryden Vos, a high-ranking figure in the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate, and now owe him. To make amends, Han and Chewbacca offer to help steal unrefined coaxium from the mines on Kessel. Beckett agrees and takes them to Dryden's luxurious yacht, where Han reunites with Qi'ra—now a high-ranking lieutenant.Vos approves the plan but insists Qi'ra accompany them. She leads them to the suave smuggler Lando Calrissian, hoping to use his ship, the Millennium Falcon. Han loses a rigged card game to Lando but convinces him to join the mission in exchange for a cut. With Lando's droid co-pilot L3-37 onboard, the team sets off.On Kessel, L3 sparks a riot among droid slaves, while Chewbacca breaks off to free Wookiee prisoners. The team escapes with the coaxium, but L3 is destroyed and Lando is injured. Using L3's navigational system, Han pilots the Falcon. Han hatches a plan to outsmart Dryden Vos. It's a classic double cross station. When they meet again, Dryden exposes Beckett as his informant. But Han had anticipated the betrayal—the coaxium given to Vos is real, and the fake decoy was a bluff.Beckett takes Chewbacca and the coaxium hostage, but Han later confronts and shoots him before he can retaliate. Meanwhile, Qi'ra kills Dryden Vos but secretly contacts her true boss: Darth Maul. She takes Vos's ship and leaves, choosing to embrace her role.Han tracks down Lando and challenges him to a rematch in cards. This time, Han wins, gaining ownership of the Millennium Falcon. With Chewbacca by his side, Han sets off for Tatooine, following a tip about a powerful gangster—Jabba the Hutt—looking for smugglers for a big job.

When viewers complained that Lucas's Star Wars movies were too politicized, he responded by joking that he hoped people would see the political situations he was describing. In this episode of Tarkin's Top Shelf, your hosts discuss the political influences that shaped the Galactic Republic, Galactic Empire, The New Republic, and The First Order in a galaxy far, far away. But first, Mark and Becca talk about the recent Star Wars: Daisy Ridley interview with Collider, Space.com "spoiler-free" interview with Alexander Freed, and George Nolfi updates on the upcoming Star Wars: Rey's New Jedi Order film. Long before the Galactic Republic rose in 25,053 BBY, the galaxy thrived in the Pre-Republic Era, also known as the Early Hyperspace Age. It was an age of cosmic beginnings, where ancient species like the Columi, Killiks, Rakata, and the enigmatic Celestials—whose stories have vanished into legend—pioneered interstellar travel and shaped the fates of countless worlds. Howdy, spacefarers! Apologies for the delay in posting—September got away from me. My goal is to publish at least once a month, but life had other plans. Luckily, I convinced the wonderful Sydney to join me and share her thoughts on the latest addition to the Star Wars Disneyverse! It's been a while since The Acolyte aired its last episode. By now, you probably know the show was canceled. If I had recorded this earlier, that news might have been a surprise. However, given the backlash, it's not shocking. At the time of writing, the show holds a 4.1 on IMDb, and the fan and critic ratings on Metacritic are split—3.2 from fans and 67 from critics. Despite the negative press, I urge you to watch The Acolyte and form your own opinion. If you don't like it, let me know why! That's more than my co-host, AJ, who hasn't even watched the show but still decided it sucked. What's he basing that on? Probably all the controversy surrounding the creator and the show's lukewarm reception. At least give it a chance and see for yourself rather than relying on hearsay. Rewatching the first episode, I noticed a lot of foreshadowing I missed the first time around. For example, Mae's black eyes really creeped me out during the second watch. Also, it's fascinating to see how the creators attempted to expand the Star Wars universe just 100 years before The Phantom Menace. Unfortunately, many elements feel familiar, such as the Neimoidians on the cargo ship where Osha, our protagonist, works as a mechanic. Of course, more CGI shots of Coruscant were included—because what Star Wars property would be complete without it? As much as I understand that Coruscant is central to the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Temple, I wish Disney didn't stick to their 80/20 formula for Star Wars. It means we're seeing a lot of the same things to keep fans happy. This “safe” approach has been a critique since The Force Awakens—where a young, poor individual from a desert planet embarks on a journey, hops on the Millennium Falcon, meets Han Solo and Chewbacca, and destroys a giant space station. We've seen this before! While there are new characters, there's still so much unexplored in the Star Wars universe, including planets and biomes that deserve screen time. Sigh... I guess we should be thankful we're still getting new Star Wars movies, shows, and content. You don't always get what you love, but sometimes, you've got to love what you get. The story takes place almost 4,000 years before the formation of the Galactic Empire, where Darth Malak, a Dark Lord of the Sith, has unleashed a Sith armada against the Galactic Republic. The player character, as a Jedi, must venture to different planets in the galaxy to defeat Malak. Players choose from three character classes (Scout, Soldier or Scoundrel) and customize their characters at the beginning of the game, and engage in round-based combat against enemies. Through interacting with other characters and making plot decisions, players earn Light Side and Dark Side Points, which determines whether their character aligns with the light or dark side of the Force; these choices affect which abilities are available to the character.
The first scenes with Amidala and Palpatine together on Coruscant bring the politics of the Galactic Republic to light. But in truth, the entirely of The Phantom Menace - from a certain point of view, at least - is the most political of all of George Lucas' Star Wars movies. Punch it! (Enjoy the show? The series begins with Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh investigating mysterious disturbances in the Force, leading to a partnership with rogue archeologist Sylvester Yarro. Together, they uncover a plot by a powerful Sith acolyte aiming to overthrow the Jedi Order. As they navigate political intrigue and ancient secrets, Vernestra must confront her past and the seductive allure of the dark side. The season culminates in a climactic showdown that will determine the fate of the galaxy. Episode 1: “Lost/Found” Directed by: Leslye Headland Written by: Leslye Headland Release Date: June 4, 2024 Summary: 100 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order preside during a time of centuries-long peace. In a bar on the planet Ueda, Jedi Master Indara is attacked and killed by a woman wielding daggers. The bartender identifies Osha Aniseya, a former Jedi Padawan learner, as the killer. Osha, who works as a meknek doing dangerous repairs on the outside of starships, denies committing the crime when arrested by Jedi Knight Yord Fandar and his Padawan Tasi Lowa. En route to Coruscant, the galactic capital, Osha’s fellow prisoners escape and leave her to crash-land on the planet Carlac. She sees a vision of her twin sister Mae, who was presumed dead in a fire that killed their family when they were young. Osha deduces that Mae is alive and the one who killed Indara. Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh sends Master Sol, Osha’s former teacher, to Carlac with his current Padawan, Jecki Lon, and Yord. They find Osha, and Sol accepts her theory about Mae. Elsewhere, Mae meets with her mysterious master, who has challenged her to kill a Jedi without using a weapon. Episode 2: “Revenge/Justice” Directed by: Leslye Headland Written by: Jason Micallef and Charmaine DeGrate Release Date: June 4, 2024 Summary: Mae attempts to kill Jedi Master Torbin in a temple on the planet Olega, but is prevented by his Force meditation; Torbin has been floating in silent meditation for over a decade. Vernestra sends Sol, Jeckie, Yord, and Osha to investigate this attack. Mae regroups with her supplier, Qimir, who is helping her hunt the four Jedi that were stationed on her and Osha’s home planet, Brendok, at the time of the fire: Indara, Torbin, Sol, and the Wookiee Kelnacca. Qimir provides Mae with a poison and warns her that she still needs to kill one of the four without a weapon. Mae offers the poison to Torbin as absolution for his past. He stops meditating and willingly takes it, dying just as the others arrive. Mae escapes, and Osha poses as her to get information from Qimir. He reveals the existence of Mae’s master and her overall plan. That night, Sol confronts Mae and reveals to her that Osha is alive. Osha attempts to stun Mae but misses, and Mae escapes again. She later threatens Qimir over talking to the Jedi, but he convinces her to spare him because he has learned that Kelnacca is living on the planet Khofar. Have you seen the 2008 animated Clone Wars film? Well prior to this review, Amanda and Brody had never seen it, nor did they have any plans to. Brian, however, a Clone Wars stan, had seen it when it released and implored that as such he's the only true fan of the bunch. A film centered around the kidnapping of Jabba the Hutt's son, Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano must recover Jabba's son in order to foster a positive relationship between the Hutts and the Galactic Republic. But was this movie any good? Listen in to our review to grab our thoughts on whether this movie was a hit or a giant heap of bantha fodder. Gifted with precognitive Force visions, over a decade before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas, who had a seat on the Jedi High Council prior to the occupation of Naboo, commissioned the Kaminoans to grow a clone army for the Galactic Republic. The Jedi Master had experienced visions of the galaxy being ravaged by a coming war, but when he attempted to warn his fellow Jedi about it, his colleagues on the Council didn't believe him and when the Jedi Master wouldn't let go of his notions, the Order removed him from the High Council. Certain in the veracity of the visions the Force had revealed to him,Sifo-Dyas instead decided to pursue the matter on his own in secret. He believed the Republic would need an army of their own to prevail against the coming darkness. So, pretending to work under the authorization of the Jedi Council and the Galactic Senate, Sifo-Dyas made contact with the Kaminoan cloners, and asked them to create the Grand Army of the Republic for him. However, unknown to the Jedi Master, the Sith had become aware of his project and they began to engineer events so control of the clones would fall to them instead. Learn more about your ad choices. Hey People its Professor CK, I'm not even gonna try and be clever or subtle here folks, this one is for me, I love this shit. It's Star Wars, it needs no explanation or introduction. But this isn't your mammy's Star Wars, we're going back to the beginning, back the birth of the galaxy far far away. Where did the force come from, how did the Jedi and Sith come to be, how did intergalactic trade and government establish itself....okay we touch briefly on that but mostly it's talking about the battles, the heroes, the villains and everything in-between. And for those of you still reading this instead of listening already, yeah I realize this pretty nerdy, but I pay my taxes and I'm an adult with disposable income so just sit back and enjoy.
Greetings space farers. Thanks for tuning in to another episode of the Star Wars Re-Watch Podcast. Back from a slight hiatus since the season finale of the The Mandalorian. What can we do in the meantime before Ahsoka releases? Why not re-watch The Rise of Skywalker with Sydney and get her thoughts and opinions and compare to mine. By far, I think fanbase hated this movie. While they may have appreciated Rian Johnson's attempt to do something different, JJ Abraham's retcon of his work did little to win favor with the fans. Personally I found the action sequences lacking. We've seen the Millennium Falcon in space battles. We've seen speeder biker chases. Why are we seeing them again in the same order we got them in original trilogy? Even the idea of Palpatine having offspring is not original. It's been done before in the book "The Glove of Darth Vader." At first glance it sounds like an adult version of a Star Wars novel. However, the plot revolves around two three-eyed characters named Triclops and Trioculus. One of which claims to be the son of Emperor Palpatine. The other is soft spoken and shy when Han, Leia, and Luke encounter him. I remember my best friend growing up had these books and allowed me to read them. They were targeted towards younger readers like the Young Jedi Knights and Junior Jedi Knights series but, were still read by fans of all ages. Needless to say, this movie was full of bad ideas and fake outs. Once it was revealed that Palpatine returned, the next logical move was to make Rey his granddaughter. Did you think they settled this plot point in The Last Jedi? Of course not! They brought back her nameless parents, of whom, one was the son of Palpatine with ZERO force powers I might add. What a mess! Of course, Sydney had the opposite opinion I did. Her favorite scene was the reveal of Lando Calrissian at which point she shouted out "LANDO!" We were all let down by the movie as a whole. The lazy plot hole bringing back Palpatine. The lazy dialog, "Somehow Palpatine has returned." Which is followed by the just as dumb line, "Dark science. Cloning. Secrets only the Sith knew." Secrets. SECRETS! More the like the entire GALACTIC REPUBLIC'S strategy for winning a twenty plus year Clone Wars. If not for the cloning technology the Confederacy's droid armies would have swiftly taken control of the galaxy and the republic. This whole plotline of a resurrected "clone" Emperor Palpatine flies in the face of the Rule of Two lore and the concept of midichlorians. Especially since he had a son! If we know force sensitivity is genetic (Anakin to Luke & Leia) then why does there need to be a Rule of Two? Palpatine and his predecessor Darth Bane, could have easily passed their knowledge onto their offspring but, instead Darth Bane utilizes Sith Magic to pass his spirit onto his apprentice Darth Zannah and inhabit her body. Aside from that. The Darth Bane trilogy is phenomenal and suggest you read it. Especially because they reference him in the Clone Wars series. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Mandalore the Ultimate was considered one of the most powerful warriors of his time and tended to fight with overwhelming force and war droids. He was one of the last Taung to claim the Mandalore title and was known to some as the "Great Shadow Father" He sought to lift his people from the hole of betrayal and humiliation that plagued them since the Great Sith War With highly advanced equipment and weapons he dominated the battle field. He wore an armor made of Mandalorian iron, also known as Beskar, that was highly resistant to blaster fire, lightsabers, and other types of attacks. He carried a personalized helmet that had a long T-shaped visor and a jetpack that allowed him to fly through the air. His primary weapon was a customized Mandalorian ripper, a melee weapon that could cut through almost anything with ease The Ripper was a large vibrosword that he carried with him during battles. It was a symbol of Mandalore the Ultimate's leadership and prowess in battle. Mandalore the Ultimate had a strong mentality towards Mandalorians. He saw them as the greatest warriors in the galaxy and believed that they should be united under his leadership to conquer the galaxy. He was highly respected by the Mandalorians, who saw him as a leader who could bring them glory and honor. He was also known to be highly intelligent and strategic, able to make decisions that would lead his army to victory. Mandalore the Ultimate disliked the Jedi, as most Mandalorians did, he saw Jedi as weak and inferior to Mandalorians. He believed that the Jedi Order was holding the galaxy back and needed to be eliminated. His strong disdain for the Jedi due originated from their interference in the Mandalorian Wars. The Jedi Order, who were opposed to the Mandalorian aggression and the war they waged on the Galactic Republic, intervened in the conflict by supporting the Republic's forces. This intervention ultimately resulted in the defeat of the Mandalorians. Mandalore viewed the Jedi as meddlers and interfering do-gooders who prevented the Mandalorians from achieving their goals. Additionally, the Mandalorians held the belief that the Jedi's use of the Force was a cheap trick and not a true measure of strength. Mandalore's hatred for the Jedi may also have been fueled by a sense of pride and honor, as the Mandalorians saw themselves as superior warriors and resented being defeated by those they deemed inferior. Mandalore the Ultimate engaged in a one-on-one battle with the Jedi Knight Revan on the planet's surface. The details of the fight are unclear, but it is known that Mandalore was killed in battle, and his helmet was taken by Revan as a trophy. His death was a turning point for the Mandalorian people, who were forced to retreat and eventually lost the war. Despite this, Mandalore the Ultimate is remembered as a hero and a symbol of Mandalorian strength and honor During his reign, Mandalore the Ultimate changed Mandalorian culture in significant ways. He created the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, a military force that brought the Mandalorian people together and allowed them to conquer other worlds. He also implemented a new code of honor for the Mandalore. Now Mandalore the Great was a Mandalorian leader who held the title of Mandalore in The Mandalorian show on Disney plus. He led a series of conflicts against the Jedi Order in ancient times. By the time of the New Republic, the Jedi had become a myth, though the battles between Mandalore the Great and the Jedi were known to some Mandalorians through ancient songs. He was known to have rode into battle riding a mythosaur, leading the mandalorians. It is is said whoever can tame the mythosaur beast and ride it into battle again one day, will lead all of Mandalore once again. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Eternal Empire, a superpower in the galaxy during the Old Republic Era. The Eternal Empire is similar to the Galactic Empire but on a much larger scale, due it taken down the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire during its time. It has had mainly one ruler up to the point in the story of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire. The Empire rule with an iron fist and nearly wiped both the Republic and Sith. On this podcast, we discuss the new animated series Tales of the Jedi and discuss whether or not Count Dooku was justified in joining the dark side due to the pervasive corruption in the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Council's inability to think for themselves. Through three animated shorts, we get a deep dive into life and times of Dooku and see how he slowly comes to terms with the noble Republic not being what it seems. We parallel the prequel conflict between Palpatine and the Republic to the Russian vs. Ukraine situation - just because one side appears to be a victim, are they 100% faultless in their own downfall? May the force be with you and God bless! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/conspiracyintheforce/support
Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace is a 1999 American epic space opera film written and directed by George Lucas (his first directorial effort after a 22-year hiatus following the original Star Wars[b] in 1977), It starred Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Jake Lloyd, Ahmed Best, Ian McDiarmid, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Pernilla August, and Frank Oz.
