"May the Force Be With You," and also May The 4th Be With You.The Holmes Brothers head back to the world of Star Wars to review The Prequel Trilogy. We're back with another Trilogies episode. The films in the trilogy include Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002) and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005). Revenge of the Sith is currently being re-released in select cinemas to coincide with its twenty year anniversary. Before the rights of LucasFilm and the world of Star Wars were sold to Disney, George Lucas came back to finish the Star Wars saga with the Prequels. Whether you like the films or not, cinema and visual effects technology caught up with Lucas's vision and he was able to tell the full story in the way that he envisioned. He could finally show Podracers, Gungans, the planet Coruscant and also show how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. There was a lot of hype and expectations around these films. Back in 1999 before the release of Episode I, people would buy tickets to other films just to see the trailer and then leave. This is way before YouTube. Today there has been a slight reappraisal of the films from some corners of cinema fans and lovers of all things Star Wars, compared to the critical bashing they all got during their original releases from fans, filmmakers and critics. The films were not as popular as the Original Trilogy. They did not receive the same love and acclaim at the time and a lot of the criticisms the films got were due to the writing, storytelling, characterisation and sometimes the VFX. Now many years later, where do you think we land on the films? Listen to the episode and find out.We hope you like this episode and stay tuned for more Trilogies episode. The next episode will be on The War Trilogy, directed by Italian filmmaker Roberto Rossellini.Be sure to check out our Monument Valley Film on our YouTube Channel, the famous location is featured briefly in one of the films.Anders's screenwriter work can also be seen in the western The Outlaws, The films is a available to watch in America , parts of Scandinavia (e.g. Denmark, Finland) & the United Kingdom on Amazon and also Apple TV. The third episode of The Acolyte, "Destiny" flashes back and explores Mae and Osha's upbringing in a coven of witches and the events that lead to the groups demise. When four Jedi arrive to investigate and test the children, Osha is at odds with Mae and the rest of her coven because she seeks more in the galaxy. Frank, Sean and Brandon chat about the complexity surrounding the Jedi and their approach as to who can weild the Force, the emotional moments that forge a destiny as well as theorize how the Sith can potentially already be involved. In Star Wars The Revenge of the Sith - Darth Sidious exterminates the 3 Jedi Masters with ease until Anakin arrives to finish off Mace Windu. What is different however, is in the novelization HOW he killed them is much more gruesome and sinister. This allows us to really view Palpatine in the light he was meant to be perceived, as the ruthless and disturbing Sith Lord. I hope you all enjoy May the Force Be With You! Summer is in full sweat in the south, but San Diego Comic Con had most of the cool Star Wars news for the month. The guild strikes in Hollywood put a lot of coming content into question, but Ahsoka is close enough to the end of the production line to probably be safe for it's intended release. Shooting schedules are paused and actors and writers are less likely to market for an industry they feel is leaving them in a lurch over streaming royalties. It's the perfect time to catch up with collectible and video game news, and the host reveals his first Star Wars purchase in years! Questions or comments? Return of the Jedi has been "a thing" for forty years now. FORTY. YEARS. This is the Way Podcast endorses Episode VI as the height of original Star Wars. Yes, higher than Empire Strikes Back. Certainly not possible without the first movie and fourth episode, but it is unlikely that any movie will supplant "the one with the Sarlaac Pit, Ewoks, Yoda disappearing and Obi Wan on a log and the best finish ever with old Anakin force ghost and Yub nub on the forest moon. Deal with it. As usual there is Disney Plus series updates, news for collectors, video gamers, and park news (Galactic Starcruiser hitting an asteroid?). THIS IS THE MAY! Questions or comments? Do you fondly remember playing with a Chewbacca, Han Solo, Princess Leia, or Luke Skywalker action figure? Have you ever uttered the phrase, “May the Force Be With You”? Are you strongly in the camp of either Team R2D2 or Team C3PO? For the vast majority of us, the answer to at least one of these questions would be a resounding YES. When George Lucas brought “Star Wars” to movie theaters and drive-in screens in 1977, he did much more than share a great story… he literally changed the face of both filmmaking and merchandising. The impact of his ground-breaking ‘space Western' is being felt to this day. Join us for this out-of-world episode focused on the cultural phenomenon of “Star Wars.” From behind-the-scenes stories about the development of the space saga, to the reasoning behind the casting choices, to the technological innovations necessitated by the ambitious script, to the merchandising explosion that occurred after the movie's release, we cover it all. Forty years ago, we saw the release of this THIRD movie of the original Star Wars trilogy - this was the highly anticipated follow-up to what many (myself included) consider to be THE best Star Wars film ever, Empire Strikes Back. It featured the return of several beloved characters and the resolution of a story which was last concluded with quite a surprising cliffhanger at the end of the previous episode. So...did it live up to the hype....and how does it hold up?Let's find out as we delve into this sequel directed by Richard Marquand and with the returning cast of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, and several others....PLUS the introduction of Ian McDiarmid who plays Emperor Palpatine. It's been...a few weeks since the finale of Andor aired (or streamed, rather) on Disney Plus, but it's not production delays, real life problems, or anything of that nature which has our last reaction and discussion podcast of season one coming out so late. Part of it was planned (since This is the Way Podcast doesn't get access to early watches, we can't have a podcast ready to go before some of the other outlets) and part of it was a lack of desire since there isn't anything new coming until after the new year. There was a desire to read and hear articles and interviews that we know come out typically after the show seasons come to a close which would shed more light on what we saw and what we might see next season. That's definitely the case and you'll hear about some of that after the show recap portion. "Rix Road" isn't a perfect send-off, but we KNOW we're getting a second season, and this finale answers some of the questions it raised and sets up resolutions to come. Showrunner Tony Gilroy has been saying all the right things and wrote so much better than some of the other shows that even Hollywood took notice and it's hard to find legitimate criticisms of the work (I'm not saying they aren't out there, but just not liking something isn't the same as having evidence of bad writing or terrible acting). Cassian "became Cassian" during this season and for a show CALLED Andor, what more can you expect from a show than to do what it tells you it's going to do...well, when it does so in a thought provoking and entertaining way, you get terrific television. Season two is a long way away and The Bad Batch season two and The Mandalorian season three and Ahsoka and Acolyte season ones will all come out well before it. It isn't necessary to resist comparisons. Don't buy that line from "fans" of Star Wars. It doesn't have to be apples to apples. Good writing and acting speak for themselves. Send an email to thisisthewaypodcast@gmail.com if you have comments. Everything will be seen and read. Almost everything will get some sort of reply. Check out the This is the Way Podcast Linktree link for ways to find our outlets of information at linktr.ee/ThisistheWayPod and please...leave us positive reviews only on your favorite podcast service. If that's not too much to ask, then perhaps subscribe to This is the Way Podcast, too! Coverage will resume with news and midseason coverage of The Bad Batch season two. It goes without saying, THANK YOU to our Youtini community and our irreplaceable friends over at Patreon for sharing your love with Star Wars with us and as always, May the Force Be With You!▶High Republic HQ | https://tinyurl.com/2ev7trkf▶The Youtini Book Review System | https://tinyurl.com/2p857edd▶New Book & Comic Releases on Youtini.com | https://tinyurl.com/4bnhp8du▶Complete Star Wars Timeline | https://tinyurl.com/yznkb8w7JOIN OUR COMMUNITY▶ WEBSITE https://www.youtini.com▶ DISCORD https://www.youtini.com/discord▶ TWITTER https://twitter.com/youtini_us▶ INSTAGRAM https://www.instagram.com/youtini_us/?hl=en▶ FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/youtiniSUPPORT YOUTINI▶ WEEKLY CONTENT ON PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/youtini▶ YOUTINI MERCH: https://www.youtini.com/merchGET MORE STAR WARS BOOKS▶ Get A FREE Star Wars Audiobook: https://www.youtini.com/audible▶ Best Canon Book To Read First: https://www.youtini.com/book/lost-stars▶ Best Legends Books To Read: https://www.youtini.com/guide/best-star-wars-legends-books
It's October and Andor is halfway done. Somehow we've managed to still get a couple of news items out of it and as always, we keep tabs on collectors and gamers. It's the Disney Parks news that has us hoping someone manages to spark a rebellion. House of the Dragons and The Rings of Power both vacate the scene with season finales this month and that means Andor and Tales of the Jedi might get more eyes on screens. Star Wars content will always be king (emperor?) at This is the Way Podcast but we aren't silly enough to think that it's the only show in town. Sure we could get MORE Star Wars, but I'd rather Lucasfilm keep producing "Andor level quality" streaming television shows than...what we seemed to be getting in the other shows this year. Hey, don't "at" me bro. Wait. DO that. Please! Send an email to thisisthewaypodcast@gmail.com "and/or" (that joke will not go away until the end of November, I'm just saying...) check out our Linktree, for appropriate links at linktr.ee/ThisistheWayPod. This is the Way Phase Four's link is linktr.ee/thewayphasefour, but we do not have plans for additional content at this time. Thanks for listening to our Star Wars coverage! Visit The Website: https://herewiththemagic.com Watch Here: https://www.youtube.com/HereWithTheMagic Connect on social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/herewiththemagic Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/herewiththemagic/ ---------- [02:15] In the cinematic realm of Disney's Hollywood Studios, we have stumbled upon something so distinctive, so unique, we have to leave behind the sun-soaked palm trees, glamour and ambience of Hollywood's Golden Age entirely. [02:30] An eerie breath of woodwinds welcomes us to the treasure trove planet of Batuu. The lilt of a flute, an oboe, the unmistakable weight of a bassoon. [02:45] From the perspective of a rover, you might be tempted to leave the beige tones and mundane activities of this side of the galaxy in your dust…but oh, what secrets and stories lie within! Who could imagine, upon first or even second glance, that this could be the stomping grounds of the greatest Jedi for many moons? You've heard the phrase: “don't judge a book by its cover,” no doubt? Well, don't judge a planet by its junkyard. [03:38] Our mystical, orchestral interlude is broken by a jumble of otherworldly noises. We can discern the descent of a spaceship onto its tarmac, the Millennium Falcon, perhaps? [06:04] Droids chatter back and forth in their robotic, indiscernible way. Keep your eyes peeled for faithful R2D2, and BB-8 trailing after him with much enthusiasm. [07:20] In the distance, we hear the echoing roar of a Wookie, undoubtedly everyone's favorite co-pilot, Chewie. [10:32] It's not just friends wandering the Outpost; fiendish Forces are awake here on Batuu as well. Whether alerted to our presence or not remains to be seen. [10:53] For now, we are swept up in the commotion of barterers and traders, all moving with purpose as dusk descends on this corner of the galaxy. [16:14] It's hard not to feel the energy and power that this place embodies. Forces of nature live and move here, humble and quiet paradoxes to their relative strength and potential. The kinesis extends through the structures, the music, the wind whipping through alleyways and at the hems of Jedi robes. [18:37] Amidst the bustling and bristling of Black Spire Outpost, we are not alone in our nonchalant attempts to surreptitiously dodge random interrogation from a Stormtrooper. We blend in with our surroundings. [22:16] We are immersed in the stories that breathe from every orifice; even the stone walls seem to speak of legend. It is the Force, alive and breathing in the spirits of those of us who journey here, searching for enlightenment, a fantastical tale longing to be retold. [25:28] The Force is a source of energy and power, certainly, but we know that it is also a source of inner peace and serenity in equal measure. Balance is light and dark together, mayhem and mild in harmonious coexistence. [26:23] And what a peaceful moment we've found, as nightfall brings a whole new symphony of sounds, some familiar and some...intriguing. The chirp of crickets, unseen creatures calling into the night, the clang and grind of moonlit repairs on that scrap metal hunka junk parked at the center of the Outpost. [27:48] Every step we take turns our head in a new direction. Around corners, over our shoulder...what was that? This is the chaos of Batuu - the bated breath of the unknown, the galaxy reaching for some sense of tranquility before morning brings a new raucousness of its own. Come with us, be Here as we uncover its secrets and delight in all the details. [34:00] Hear the foreboding chime of midnight bells reverberating across the galaxy, a call to something, but what? Staccato percussions chill us to the bone, though we have no idea why. We are suddenly engaged in the space between the tangible and intangible, the everyday and the enchanting. [38:04] Not all is quiet on Batuu, even as the darkness presses in and the night lingers on. As we stand fascinated at this spiritual concerto we've stumbled upon, in another part of the Outpost is a late night celebration at Oga's, the local watering hole for an array of the most curious characters. [38:23] Loud music and light spill from inside as we approach; clearly the party inside is fin full swing. It is a technicolor affair, DJ'd by Rex, a droid that would probably be the life the party on any planet. Let's spend a few moments here, why not? Find yourself swaying in time to the bright jazz music as you sip on an iridescent libation. [41:45] Then it's back out into the mysterious night. [49:00] And so our journey through Galaxy's Edge is brought to a close, as night will surely surrender to first light soon enough. Thank you for wandering with us, for traveling to this galaxy far, far away. We hope you've enjoyed your time Here, that it's brought you excitement and joy and even a sense of peace, strange as it sounds. After all, the most unlikely places can be a respite from your everyday. Now light speed to tomorrow, and all the adventures it's sure to bring. Til' the Spire, and May the Force Be With You.

If you're on TikTok and you're following Star Wars creators, then you have most likely seen this weeks guest talk about Star Wars. The best part of Element 7's videos, both on YouTube and TikTok, is that he does ZERO gatekeeping. You're a fan because you're fan. You do not have to agree with him, as long as you are respectful of others opinions, you can still have a great Star Wars Fandom conversation. And thats just what we do here on this episode. We talk about his TikTok's and his YouTube presence, both with solo videos and the ones that he does with his DYAD IN THE FORCE, our former guest Darth Chocolate. Come for the Star Wars, stick around for the laughs. You can find out more about Element 7 on TikTok under his username @_element7_ and also on YouTube at - Element 7 or Dyad in the Force. He had to expand on character arcs from forty two years ago and I think he did a fantastic job of that." - Tim Urig After forty-two years, the Original Star Wars Saga comes to a close with J.J. Abrams' "The Rise of Skywalker" Naturally I gathered representatives of both the Sith and Jedi respectively, Lord Christopher Francese and Jedi Master Tim Urig to discuss the final film at length.
