Todd invited his younger brother Alex, a recent college graduate, to come live with him in the house he’d built. He wanted to help his sibling gain some financial footing by allowing him to live rent-free for a while. After six months, Todd asked Alex to begin paying rent. Years later, Alex made an offer on his own home. When the offer was accepted, Todd surprised him by telling him that he’d deposited Alex’s rent payments in a savings account over the years and that the substantial sum of money was now his! Alex wept as he received the lavish gift. In Leviticus 25, God gave Moses commands for the Israelites that included allowing those in need “to live with you” (v. 35 nlt). This command was part of God enacting “a jubilee year”—when debts were forgiven, those in poverty were helped, and the enslaved were freed (vv. 23-55). He declared that He’d lovingly led His people “out of the land of Egypt to give [them] the land of Canaan and to be [their] God” (v. 38). He’d provided a new homeland, and now they were to imitate Him by showing love and opening their homes to others. The apostle John would later write, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God” (1 John 3:1). By Jesus’ sacrifice we can receive the fullness of that lavish love (v. 16). And as He helps us, we can lavish it on others.

“How rock n' roll to take our largest space and fill it with 20,000 litres of barrel-aged beer.”There's little in Australian beer like Felons Brewing. First appearing as part of the Howard Smith Wharves (now Artemus Group) development on the Brisbane River as it flows under the iconic Story Bridge, the brewery's home has steadily gobbled up more of the riverbank to the point its multiple venues can host thousands.Since late 2024, they've been steadily taking over the equally iconic Manly Wharf, most recently opening the Barrel Room live music venue (in addition to the Barrel Hall in Brisbane) and a seafood restaurant for which they've devised a way to pour their lager at sub-zero temperatures for maximum crispiness.Such grandiosity, especially in an era of frugality for many, might seem at odds with much of the indie beer industry. Yet, as our chat with head brewer Tom Champion and brand director Dean Romeo – two of the Little Creatures alumni brought into the business before it launched – shows, they're community players, in beer and elsewhere, driven by a belief that a rising tide lifts all boats. Or, in this case, indie brewers. What's more, there are few breweries in Australia with similar potential to act as a first point of contact for newcomers to craft beer. Our conversation takes in their story to date, their approach to hospitality, events and collaborations, maintaining one of the country's largest barrel programs within such a large commercial entity, their thoughts on the wider beer industry, beer tourism and more.On the eve of a trip to New South Wales to record more podcasts, catch up with beer world mates old and new, and host an event with Wildflower and Garage Project, Will and James open the show with a look at the week on Crafty: a new Crafty Crawl via Melbourne's new Metro Tunnel; an entertaining tenth anniversary Brew & A with Young Henrys' head brewer; and the launch of Allday Brewing by the mates behind Forward Hops beer importers.Start of segments: 0:00 – The Week On Crafty 14:05 – Dean & Tom Part 1 44:08 – Pint of Origin Festival 2026 Promo 45:00 – Dean & Tom Part 2To find out more about featuring on The Crafty Pint Podcast or otherwise partnering with The Crafty Pint, contact craig@craftypint.com.

Here's a real-life glimpse of the lavish, undeserved grace God delights to give His children.
As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,” for by professing it some have swerved from the faith.Grace be with you.

A Prayer to Receive and Share God's Lavish Love by Rachael AdamsWe are invited to receive the lavish, generous love of God and to share it with others. This devotional reminds us that even the most impressive gifts, sacrifices, and acts of faith mean nothing without love. Love is the lens through which every gift from God is meant to be experienced and expressed. Reference: 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 Prayer: Lord, thank you for all you've given me in your son, the Holy Spirit, and the hope of eternity. Help me to grasp the magnitude of the gifts you have lavished on me as your child. Remind me that it was never anything I earned or deserved, but your generosity to me. Help me to steward what you have given me well, and to share it cheerfully because it is not about me. It is all about you and for you. In Jesus' name, amen. James Lavish, co-managing partner of the Bitcoin Opportunity Fund and author of The Informationist newsletter, joins Episode 305 of the Julia La Roche Show. In this episode, Lavish explains how the government shutdown has locked nearly $1 trillion in the Treasury General Account, draining liquidity from financial systems and raising concerns about a 2019-style repo crisis as bank reserves fall to dangerous levels. He argues Americans have lost 25% of their purchasing power from 2020 to 2025, and while technology should bring deflation, we instead have persistent 3% inflation because it's necessary to manage $38 trillion in debt through currency debasement. Lavish explains the K-shaped economy where the top 1% gained 8X wealth since 1990 versus 4X for the bottom 50%, noting commercial real estate defaults are spiking and subprime auto lenders are collapsing. When the TGA liquidity eventually floods back into markets, he warns not to mistake it for prosperity—it's currency debasement, which is why he recommends positioning in hard assets like Bitcoin, gold, and real estate. The Fed is trapped between dual mandates with no way out, and while AI stocks may have gotten ahead of themselves risking a market shock, his message is clear: own assets because he's not bullish on the economy, he's bearish on the currency. This episode is brought to you by VanEck.
