In Matthew 11: 28-30, we hear the call to Come to Christ and receive rest. Today's Challenge is to confess our burdens and lay them at the feet of Christ

What would it mean to lay down your burdens...? As dharma students, we learn that our burdens are found in the ways in which we cling to sensual pleasures, views & opinions, social conventions, and self identity. As Peter Doobinin explains, we can learn to let go of these burdens; and when we do, we know a new freedom and a new happiness. The dharma talk was given in May 2023.
Deacon Courtney Greene July 9, 2023 Scripture Readings: Zechariah 9:9-12 • Psalm 145:8-14 • Romans 7:15-25a • Matthew 11:16-19, 25-30 We're so glad you're here! God sends His Spirit to dwell in us so that we are no longer orphans, but family; we become adopted children of God. We must continually return to the means by which we were saved—the Gospel. One of the greatest ways others can see the transformation of the Gospel in our lives is how we love one another. Gal 5:26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. This is how we are to live together as the family of God. WATCH FULL SERVICE ON YOUTUBE DOWNLOAD PDF SERMON NOTES HERE

Are you stressed out, or do you have a lot of burdens that you're carrying around today? I channeled a message from the Universe. The message was that the Universe is only one call away. Your angels and guides surround you daily and are ready to help you. All you need to do is call on them. It's time to lay down your burdens and start asking the universe for everything you need. Whoa! It's the season two finale of both Set Condition One AND Battlestar Galactica. What're the odds? In this, the second half of "Lay Down Your Burdens," it appears the Cylons have, for the time being, decided to leave humanity to its own devices; Kara brings her new boyfriend home to meet Dad; we find out the results of the presidential election—the events of which might strike just a bit to close to home for anyone listening in 2021. And, we might just add another name to the list of confirmed Cylons. Follow us @setcon1podcast on http://twitter.com/setcon1podcast (Twitter) and http://instagram.com/setcon1podcast (Instagram). We've reached part one of the season two finale of Battlestar Galactica! In this episode, we learn about Tyrol's night troubles, meet a member of the Galactican clergy—who may or may not be related to our beloved Doctor Cottle—and get ourselves wrapped up in one of humanity's oldest debates: Which is better? https://www.businessinsider.com/wawa-or-sheetz-which-is-better#upon-entering-sheetz-we-were-stunned-by-the-flash-and-the-panache-but-this-stylish-sound-and-fashionable-fury-signifies-nothing-its-the-food-that-counts-while-sheetz-may-have-plentiful-soda-reserves-its-made-to-order-food-cant-measure-up-to-the-image-it-presents-30 (Wawa or Sheetz)? Backwards Star Galactica was a show where we watched Battlestar Galactica for the very first time, but in reverse chronological order, and tried to figure out what the show was about. We hear this all the time—just lay down your burdens at God feet and he’ll take care of it—but it takes on new meaning when you hear it sung by your little daughter. _I cast all my cares upon You I lay all of my burdens Down at Your feet And any time I don't know what to do I will cast all my cares upon You -Cares Chorus by Kelly Willard Colin connects his own desire to take care of his child to that of God the father, who wants to take care of us. When you don’t know what to do, sing this song unto God and let him carry your worries.
Matthew spouts some commie rhetoric and Dean talks about breaking up unions and freedom, but the lads come together to invent a great alternate scene that could exist involving Boomer murdering everyone on Cylon-Occupied Caprica to the tune of Django Unchained. Election day. Caprican rescue. New Cylons. New Caprica. One. Year. Later. Mike separates his politics and his personal preferences. Matt compares one-liner bros Brother Cavil and Doc Cottle. Pat is the only one who wouldn't have fixed the fleet's presidential election. Oh, also, we yell at each other about the state of America for a bit. Just a bit though.
Alex and Nick discuss macro storytelling in TV writing, from season-long narrative arcs to character development. Why is it important to have character arcs across seasons? When should you write serialized narratives? How far in advance should you plot things out? Do you need to know everything before writing a pilot? What are unique TV examples of macro storytelling? Plus, we talk about what "signing with an agent or manager" literally means. The Paper Team sets things up... Jeremiah had a message of warning to the Israelites: Do not carry your burdens on the Sabbath day. Hands dedicated to burdens would be less likely used for worship. Our worship services need to be different than any other ordinary day.
