There's a lot of punishing going on in this episode: Roslin punishing Baltar and his cult, Chief punishing himself for Cally's death, Tigh goading Caprica Six into punishing him for...everything. And none of them are right to do any of this. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

When Boomer stumbles on an inhabitable planet, President Roslin's hyper-religious pivot starts raising eyebrows on the Audrey 2. But while Dr. Baltar encourages Boomer to take herself out, Starbuck hatches a plan to blow up the damn basestar. Who was giving long shrift at STLV? How good could a Mission Log party be? Where are all the song sequels? It's the episode that identifies the second dumbest genius ever.Support the production of Greatest TrekGet a thing at podshop.biz!Sign up for our mailing list!Greatest Trek is produced by Wynde PriddySocial media is managed by Rob Adler and Bill TilleyMusic by Adam RaguseaFriends of DeSoto for: Labor | Democracy | JusticeDiscuss the show using the hashtag #GreatestTrek and find us on social media:YouTube | Facebook | X | Instagram | TikTok | Mastodon | Bluesky | ThreadsAnd check out these online communities run by FODs: Reddit | USS Hood Discord | Facebook group | Wikia | FriendsOfDeSoto.social

When the fleet catches a Leoben on the Gemenon Traveler, Starbuck gets assigned to interrogate him with an extremely specific bucket. But after President Roslin wakes up wet from one too many NyQil dreams, she hears Leoben out before returning to Commander Adama's position. What doesn't belong on a postage stamp? Where did H.R. This episode's title is confusing because it really has nothing to do with the story being told. Instead, we have the psychological torture of Gaius Baltar, the gaslighting of Dualla by Lee Adama, an attempted murder by Gaeta, and a glorious scene where Roslin truly becomes unhinged. Knoxville Public Library Director Roslin Thompson discusses the library’s April calendar.
Last week, it was reported that the middle-aged population in Britain is the loneliest in Europe, so Anna has invited TV presenter and broadcaster, Gaby Roslin, to interrogate why that might be. Gaby is passionate about curbing the epidemic of loneliness, which can impact people of all ages and looks different for everyone. In this episode, she shares some of what she's learnt from her investigations into loneliness – including tips on how to prevent it, as well as explaining just how detrimental loneliness can be for both our physical and mental health. Alongside super-psychotherapist, Sam Pennells-Nkolo, Gaby and Anna offer advice to a listener in her 50s who feels lonely, despite having a busy and full life with family living close by. The trio offer her words of encouragement, recommend some strategies that might minimise her sense of loneliness, and suggest places where she could meet some like-minded folk. The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
Cat watches in horror as the Freys spring their trap. King Robb and many loyal northerners are cut down, and after she murders Lord Walder's grandson, Cat is also dispatched. Simon and Mackelly rend their garments.Chapter Review:The music is terrible, the food unappealing, but Edmure Tully seems in love with his new bride Roslin - who maintains her rictus smile throughout. The drinking is heavy, particularly from the GreatJon Umber. Lord Walder Frey calls for the bedding, the borderline sexual assault whereby the newlyweds are stripped and carried to the marital bed, and King Robb agrees. When the lovers leave, Catelyn Stark's hackles raise when Edwyn Frey pushes Darcey Mormont aside, when she only asked to dance. At this point, the band finally finds a tune: The Rains of Castermere - the song whose only message is “Don't cross the Lannisters.” Crossbow bolts rain down and King Robb and Cat are both struck. A melee ensues, but the Stark guards are outmanned and unable to do more than fight a rearguard.Northmen rush in, but they fight for the wrong side. Cat holds a knife to Jinglebell and threatens/bargains with Lord Walder - but he doesn't care what she does and a figure who appears to be Roose Bolton delivers the coup de grace to his King. Cat cuts Jinglebell's throat but she herself has her throat cut, as she thinks of Ned and her children.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Catelyn Stark - Mother of King Robb.Robb Stark - Eldest child of Catelyn Stark. King in the North.Jeyne Westerling - Robb's new bride. Queen of the North.Edmure Tully - Lord of Riverrun, brother to Catelyn Stark.Lord Walder Frey - nonogenarian Lord of the Twins. Father of multitudes. Roslin Frey - Daughter of Lord Walder. Bride to Edmure Tully.Roose Bolton - Trusted lieutenant of Robb Stark. His motives and behavior are a bit questionable. There's resistance all around in this episode: Roslin and Lee are resisting Tigh's new world order; Starbuck and Helo join forces with resistance fighters on Caprica; Baltar is resisting accountability by tricking Boomer into telling him information and almost killing Tyrol; Cally is resisting civility and decorum by running around like a screeching banshee and eventually killing our dear Boomer; and Adama is resisting death by waking up from his sedation and taking the first steps - literally - to righting the ship. The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
Cat and co arrive at the Twins to a frosty reception. Edmure is delighted by Roslin - she takes after her Rosby mother. Roose Bolton confirms some of the news from the north, shares more bad news, and tells a few lies. Simon and Mackelly get measured for our wedding bonnets.Chapter Review:Catelyn, Robb, and Edmure arrive at the Twins. A welcoming party of Freys is all-but attacked by Grey Wind - who's not really doing his part to smooth things over. He's banished to the dog house with Ser Raynald Westerling.Inside Walder Frey lords it over Robb demanding that the young king apologize to a whole bevvy of Frey girls, any one of which might have been his queen. Robb is contrite and says the right things. Walder is disappointed that Queen Jeyne didn't make the trip, he'd wanted to see what would make a king forget his vow, but he concedes that he remembers being young and in love. They break bread together and Catelyn relaxes - now they have guest right, and no harm will befall them.Edmure is pleased with his betrothed Roslin, who cries “with joy” when she meets her future husband. Roose Bolton is there and lies about who was to blame for the debacle at Duskendale, and reports that his march north was interrupted by Gregor Clegane who waited until his forces were split by the Trident before attacking the rearguard. Bolton was forced to leave men behind to prevent the Mountain from crossing the river. Roose is also dishonest (or misinformed) about his bastard Ramsey's part in the destruction of Winterfell. All agree to ransom Theon's execution, not his life, to the next Lord of the Iron Islands. Erna Bennett was a plant geneticist and one of the early pioneers of genetic conservation (biodiversity conservation). She was one of the first to raise the issue of biodiversity loss at the United Nations, and challenged the narrative of the Green Revolution being the solution to food security on a global scale. Not only was she an advocate for local diversity, she was a pilot in World War 2, defected to join the antifascists in Greece, and spent her retirement trying to align Marxist values with ecologically-centered communism. The Freys brought the last news courtesy of the two Walders (the cockroaches of the north) who have written from the Dreadfort, where they were “rescued” by Bolton's bastard. The Freys have chosen Roslin as Edmure's bride, he'd like to meet her first, but he's accused of looking a gift horse in the mouth. Since the Starks didn't hold their last promise, the Freys want the wedding immediately and they want a face-to-face apology from King Robb to Lord Walder. All-in-all its a small price to pay, and the young king agrees. There are many misconceptions around weight — starting with the fact that people burn fat differently depending on their size, says Mitchell Roslin, MD, director of bariatric surgery at Lenox Hill and Northern Westchester hospitals. On this episode, he breaks down the factors that contribute to obesity, from genetics and lifestyle to the way our bodies convert food into energy. Obesity itself has an impact on one's ability to lose weight due to something he calls the "metabolic switch." Dr. Roslin explains how weight gain is linked to other illnesses like cancer and when people should consider talking to their doctor about medical weight loss strategies, such as medications and weight loss surgery. Dr. Roslin is a pioneer in the field of bariatric surgery, helping to develop advanced treatments like the single-anastomosis duodenal-switch, also known as SADI. More from the expert Dr. Roslin shares 3 surprising benefits of bariatric surgery. Dr. Roslin talks about his passion for bariatric surgery. Watch episodes of 20-Minute Health Talk on YouTube. Q. What does this episode of RetroTube have in common with the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix?A. Start Wreck. Now I've got that off my chest, it's time for long-term non-Trekker Adam to be introduced to two episodes of Star Trek by Heather, the world's biggest Leonard McCoy fangirl, ho boy, and how, yes indeed. And you'll be pleased to know that a) at no point do they mention the words, "Beam me up, Scotty", and b), you won't hear a single note of *that song*. You know the one I mean. We're a classy podcast. This is part one of two - they got a little bit overexcited and talked for two and a half hours. Balance of Terror is discussed in this episode, This Side of Paradise in the next. So, wearing the purple uniform of the Starfleet podcasting division, Adam and Heather buckle up and knuckle down to some serious Trekkery. Will Adam enjoy his taste of Kirk and the gang, or will he not give a TOS?Please like, rate, review and share the podcast, otherwise it's the pink smoke for you.https://twitter.com/retro_tubehttps://shows.acast.com/retrotubeemail: retrotubepodcast@gmail.comTheme Music by Adam S. Leslie, aka Berlin Horse.Note: in their discussion about female characters with feminine-sounding surnames (Ensign Martine, President Roslin), our RetroTube pals forgot about the most blindly obvious example of all - Star Trek's very own Captain Janeway.
