In the SLP space alone, there are over 300 kinds of certifications you can achieve in your professional development journey. While certifications are completely optional and a personal decision based on your goals and current work situation, there are certain standards to consider when browsing your options. One question to ask yourself is: “Is this certification accredited OR undergoing the accreditation process?” Creating an accredited certification program is not something one can randomly do or purchase. I know…who would have thought?! Accreditation is a rigorous, lengthy, and comprehensive process with multiple levels of accountability, subject matter experts, and psychometric methods. And the MSLP-C™ Certification is months away from being accredited! Friends, this was a pro cess. We have shared a TON about the “why” behind this certification. In this week's podcast we discuss the “how”! Lori Morgan, PhD, CCC-SLP and Manny Straehle, PhD - a psychometrician (and data wizard, in my opinion) - join me to dive into the nitty gritty about the accreditation & certifying exam process for the MSLP™ Certification including: how accreditation works why we need a psychometrician on the team why and how a certification exam is created (THIS was a doozy!!) the process of item-writing, research, and verification what the overall goal is with this optional certification. Tune in and prepare to be blown away by how much work was done to ensure we are offering the highest quality certification program available to medical SLPs! On a riveting episode of After Hours AM/The Criminal Code Radiowith hosts Joel Sturgis, Eric Olsen, and forensic psychologist Dr. Clarissa Cole — we enter the swampy world of cold case murders in Iberville, Louisiana, with Major Ronald “Ronnie” Hebert of Discovery Channel’s KILLING FIELDS. Major Hebert joins us hour2 – in hour1 we review the week’s True Crime news and try to figure out why people are so mean to each other. KILLING FIELDS, Tuesdays 10/9c on Discovery Channel, entered its second season on January 3, continuing the live investigation of the infamous 1997 homicide of former Louisiana State University student, 34 year-old Eugenie Boisfontaine. Under Sheriff Brett Stassi and Major Ronnie Hebert, detectives Rodie Sanchez, Aubrey St. Angelo, Lori Morgan, Jeremy Sanchez, and Leslie Bradford and Brett Stassi, Jr. investigate real murders in the small community of Iberville Parish, Louisiana, located just 15 miles from the state capitol, Baton Rouge. Killing Fields Eugenie Boisfontaine Shot in real time, the series picks up from last season as Rodie, Aubrey, and the team zero in on the killer of Eugenie Boisfontaine. Rodie is more determined than ever to close the case, which has haunted him for nearly two decades. But that isn’t the only case that catches their attention. The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office tracks another terrifying case after evidence surfaces in a nearby Parish of a body stuffed inside a barrel. Rodie believes that this is tied to an unsolved disappearance he worked 26 years ago. Even more compelling – the facts surrounding the barrel are eerily similar to what the prime suspect once admitted in a separate investigation for that missing person’s case. But even with such information, Rodie could never lock him up because the body could not be found… Perhaps until now. Together, with the guidance of Major Hebert, the team works tire

Todd Woolsey has played with Tanya Tucker, Tracy Lawrence, Lori Morgan, Colin Ray, Trick Pony, Pam Tillis, and Lee Ann Womack.
Anthony Smith is a Nashville-based, award-winning singer, songwriter, musician, and producer with over 200 songs recorded by a virtual "Who's Who" list of Nashville's superstars, including; George Strait, Montgomery Gentry, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Lonestar, Trisha Yearwood, Van Zant, Lori Morgan, Sammy Kershaw, Josh Gracin, Trick Pony, Kenny Rogers, Shooter Jennings, and many others. Some of Anthony’s hits include: George Strait's Run, along with the crowd favorite, Cowboys Like Us, Trace Adkins' two out-of-the-gate smashes, Chrome and I'm Tryin, Tim McGraw's Kill Myself and Kristofferson, Rascal Flatts' My Worst Fear, and Montgomery Gentry's recent top five hit, Whattaya Think About That? Smith showed what he could do on his own with his first album, If That Ain't Country. The Mercury Records release included three Top 40 hits and won over a broader group of fans everywhere Smith performed or where his songs were played. And he did it again on Sunshine, his most recent album with Krankit Records, where he mixed aggressively catchy guitar chords and uplifting chorus-like tones for a hard hitting set of all original compositions.
