Grand Jury has issued two felony and one misdemeanor charge against the former registrar Michele White stemming from the 2020 General Election. The Office of Elections issued a statement in which Eric Olsen, the current director of elections/general registrar, reported “discrepancies” to the Commissioner of Elections and State Board of Elections earlier this year, which led to the investigation by AG Jason Miyares. The statement also said Olsen and the electoral board this year have built a new leadership team that is dedicated to fair and accurate elections. Joe issued THIS statement; Given all the leeway written into Virginia's election laws due to Governor Northam's restrictions, it's amazing that she was able to find things that were still considered crimes!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Racing the EWS for the first time is a daunting prospect, but Eric Olsen decided to spice things up by bike touring between the first three rounds to boot. So right after his return from Europe, we sat down with Eric to talk about where the idea came from and what his goals were for the trip; how things went, including encountering golf-ball-sized hail & (almost) running over a bunch of schoolchildren; raising money for World Bicycle Relief & the idea of bikes as transportation; how his fellow racers reacted; his company, Jank Components; and a whole lot more.TOPICS & TIMES:Tour de EWS inspiration (3:25)Goals for the trip (6:01)Route & itinerary (9:53)Golf-ball-sized hail & other memorable moments (14:50)People's reactions (18:20)Packing a bike & gear (25:48)Racing after bike touring (33:37)EWS prep & track walks (35:45)Running over schoolchildren (37:37)Race support & self-sufficiency (43:13)European bike touring culture (44:43)World Bicycle Relief fundraiser (46:56)Lessons learned & teasers for the future (48:50)Jank Components (54:19)Eric's Big Idea (57:25)RELATED LINKS:Tour de EWS BlogBecome a Blister MemberBlister LabsThis Week's Gear GiveawayBlister Mountain Bike Buyer's GuideOUR OTHER PODCASTSOff The CouchGEAR:30Blister Podcast See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Get a special deal, three months free when you subscribe for a year, when you sign up using our link. Sightings of Champ go back hundreds of years or more. Local Native American tribes even have legends of the beast living in the lake. We have good evidence from modern sightings. For instance, the 1977 Mansi photo is compelling. What did she capture in the picture? It doesn't look like anything normal. We also discuss the 2009 Eric Olsen video, which provides rare photographic evidence of something strange. There was also a study that showed something in the lake uses echo location. What could that possible be? Did you know that the Lake Champlain Monster is protected by local laws? It's true! Champ is a big part of the area's culture. One can find statues, murals, souvenirs, and many things Champ related in the cities and towns on the shores of Lake Champlain. Burlington also boasts the world's tallest filing cabinet, which has nothing to do with Champ, but is still pretty cool. So what causes these sightings? A giant sturgeon? A Plesiosaur hiding in deep underwater caves? Let's find out in this week's episode! We also discuss celebrity music, for example Stephen Segal's mind boggling song Me Want The Punani. Yes, I'm afraid it is all too real. You can follow the show on twitter @alienconpod. We also have a facebook page. Join us on Discord for live shows, discussion, and other tomfoolery. New!
