Our guest this week is singer Sophie Ellis Bextor, who after 21 years in the music industry is about to release a Greatest Hits with a twist - the album, The Song Diaries, out next year, will feature her biggest hits, like Murder on the Dancefloor, but reworked with grand orchestral arrangements. She also recently announced the album is also set to coincide with the birth of her fifth child, but she'll still be taking the music out on the road next summer Sophie has recently released a new single, Love Is You, and we met her at her absolutely gorgeous London home where she talked about everything from the terrifying prospect of being on Strictly Come Dancing to how best to cook fish.

Ce samedi 16 janvier à Sandwich Triangle, on arrête plus le kiffe. 2016 commençant sur les charbons ardents, nous restons pieds au plancher et recevons Woody Braun, aka le saxophoniste de la formation funk made in France de feu : Malka Family. On ne boude pas notre plaisir quant à passer deux heures avec cet amoureux de musique, qui avec lui et sa troupe emportent presque trois décennies de grooves et de beats suintant la sensualité, les gros tchèques de potos, les coupoles sur la tête ou encore les bons whisky sur une peau de bête devant la cheminée. Janvier amène avec lui les températures hivernales, qu'à cela ne tienne, Woody va vous réchauffer le poste de radio, adoucir vos enceintes d'ordi avec ses galettes : l'homme qui murmurait à l'oreille des B-Boys fringués en nabab de la Goutte d'Or, sur des sons qui FONKent. Pour les jeunes générations peu aguerries de l'histoire de France et de Navarre, Malka Family chronologiquement est, s'il vous plait, à l'origine des Soirées chez Roger Boite Funk, merci Laurent, merci Joseph (vitrine de la scène hip-hop parisienne à la fin des 80's à qui l'ont doit beaucoup dans l'explosion du "Mouvement"). Ils ont ensuite réalisé quatre albums qui doivent rendre Sir George Clinton pas peu fier de la croisade psychédéliquement funk qu'il a entrepris, d'ailleurs une partie de la troupe à même servie de section cuivre à Poppa George. Ils ont distillés aux quatre coins du monde leur vision du groove et fait transpirer une multitude d'assoiffés de funk. Et enfin, en bons franc-tireurs qui se respectent, ils ont participé à l'élaboration et la production de nombreuses tracks et albums d'artistes où vous vous diriez "ah wép, putain ! quand même." Après une pause de plusieurs années, le groupe est retourné en studio pour la production d'un 5e LP et est à nouveau visible en chair et en os. Les jeunes et les moins jeunes, voici venu Woody pour Sandwich Triangle sur Radio Campus Paris, le rendez-vous est pris, samedi 16 janvier ont arrête de faire ce qu'on avait prévu, on se branche sur la FM ou le net et on pousse les tables.
