Bagātīgie Latvijas arhīvi ļauj ielūkoties Rīgas ielu vēsturē un izsekot tam, kā viduslaiku pilsēta izpletusies un kļuvusi par mūsdienīgu Eiropas galvasspilsētu. Sākot ar padomju radītiem mikrorajoniem, līdz pat Vecrīgas mazajām ieliņām - katras ielas stāsts ir zināms. To stāsta jauna grāmata “Rīgas ielas. Labais krasts”. Nav noslēpums, ka vēl pirms simts gadiem tur, kur šobrīd slejas daudzdzīvokļu mājas Rīgas mikrorajonos, bija meži, pļavas, ganības un pat viena otra muiža. Kā jau pilsētai ar senu vēsturi, tās sejā rakstītas neskaitāmas pārmaiņas - to visu izzina Rīgas labajam krastam veltīta grāmata.  Grāmata iepazīstina ar 1196 Daugavas labā krasta ielām, laukumiem un tiltiem Rīgā, to veidošanās vēsturi, nosaukumu izmaiņām un ievērojamiem objektiem, kas tur atrodas. Tāpat lasītāji gūs plašāku ieskatu dažādo Rīgas apkaimju un to ielu tīkla rašanās vēsturē. Ielu aprakstus papildina stāsti par interesantiem notikumiem, kas tur norisinājušies, kā arī mūsdienu un vēsturiskās kartes. Zefīrs, Raudošais Emīls, Čigānu Ferari - tie ir tikai daži no nosaukumiem, ar kuriem savā pētniecībā saskāries Oskars Otomers. Kādi faktori nosaka to, ka automašīnu var nosaukt par govi, begemotu vai citu dzīvnieku vai augu? “Autobraucēju dziesmiņu”, kas skan sižeta ievadā, saistām ar Rīgas kinostudijas mākslas filmu “Dāvana vientuļai sievietei”, kur autozagļu banda mēģina lauku mājas saimniecei Kņopienei nozagt volgu. Braucot ar auto, noteikti var dungot dziesmas, un, sēžot sastrēgumos, prātā var ienākt arī pētniecisko darbu tēmas. Tā notika ar Latvijas Universitātes doktora studiju programmas “Valodu un kultūru studijas” doktorantu Oskaru Otomeru. Pirms diviem gadiem, tajā brīdī noslēdzot savas bakalaura studijas baltu filoloģijā, viņa pētnieciskais darbs pēc profesores Andras Kalnačas iedrošinājuma tapis par automašīnu un motociklu žargoniem latviešu valodā, rezultātā apzinot aptuveni 250 dažādus nosaukumus. Lielo transportlīdzekļu - kuģu un lidmašīnu - nosaukumus Oskars šobrīd turpina pētīt doktorantūrā. Ja runājam par apzinātajiem nosaukumiem, šie vārdi nav pierakstīti vārdnīcās, tie ir kādu reizi kādā garāžā pateikti, tāpēc tā ir gaistoša leksika, gandrīz kā folkloras materiāls. Konkrētus autorus gan šiem transportlīdzekļu žargoniem neuzzināsim. Oskara Otomera darbu papildina atraktīvas Renāra Tutiņa karikatūras ar aprakstītajiem transportlīdzekļiem. Pēc bakalaura darba uzrakstīšanas to iegādājusies Latviešu valodas aģentūra, kas jau tālāk savā rakstu krājumā iekļāvusi rakstu par transportlīdzekļiem veltīto pētījumu.

Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Kamis, 26 September 2024 Bacaan: "Tetapi hamba-Ku Kaleb, karena lain jiwa yang ada padanya dan ia mengikut Aku dengan sepenuhnya, akan Kubawa masuk ke negeri yang telah dimasukinya itu, dan keturunannya akan memilikinya." (Bilangan 14:24) Renungan: Ada dua belas orang diutus Musa untuk mengintai tanah Kanaan. Sepuluh orang memberikan laporan yang mengerikan dengan memberikan fakta bahwa penduduk negeri itu bertubuh raksasa dan garang. Selain itu, Kanaan adalah kota yang kuat dan berbenteng. Kemudian, mereka menyimpulkan bahwa bangsa Israel tidak mungkin bisa mengalahkan mereka. Seluruh rakyat menjadi takut dan ingin kembali ke Mesir. Namun Kaleb dan Yosua berusaha menenangkan mereka, dan berkata, “Negeri yang kami lalui… adalah luar biasa baiknya… Janganlah takut… Mereka akan kita telan habis… Tuhan menyertai kita. Lalu bagaimana dengan kita? Bagaimana sikap hati dan cara pandang kita ketika diperhadapkan pada besarnya persoalan kita? Keluarlah dari sikap hati yang kalah sebelum berperang, karena Zef 3:17 mengingatkan kita, "Tuhan Allahmu ada di antaramu sebagai pahlawan yang memberi kemenangan." Belajarlah dari Kaleb dan Yosua yang mengadopsi janji Tuhan, dan penyertaan kuasa Tuhan menjadi kerangka pikir mereka di dalam menghadapi tantangan yang ada. Jangan biarkan hidup kita berputar-putar di padang gurun persoalan dan mati binasa seperti nasib yang dialami sepuluh pengintai dan umat Israel. Miliki roh yang berbeda dan tampillah sebagai orang percaya yang mengalami janji-janji kemenangan Tuhan dengan hidup yang diperkaya dengan firman-Nya setiap hari sehingga ketika badai datang menerpa, firman-Nya menjadi sauh yang kuat. Demikianlah kita mengakhiri cerita akhir pergumulan kita dengan bahagia. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa: Tuhan Yesus, terima kasih sudah memberikan kekuatan padaku. Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Rabu, 3 Januari 2024 Bacaan: "Tetapi hamba-Ku Kaleb, karena lain jiwa yang ada padanya dan ia mengikut Aku dengan sepenuhnya, akan Kubawa masuk ke negeri yang telah dimasukinya itu, dan keturunannya akan memilikinya." (Bilangan 14:24) Renungan: Dua belas orang diutus Musa untuk mengintai tanah Kanaan. Sepuluh orang memberikan laporan yang mengerikan dengan memberikan fakta bahwa penduduk negeri itu bertubuh raksasa dan garang. Selain itu, Kanaan adalah kota yang kuat dan berbenteng. Kemudian, mereka menyimpulkan bahwa bangsa Israel tidak mungkin bisa mengalahkan mereka. Seluruh rakyat menjadi takut dan ingin kembali ke Mesir. Namun Kaleb dan Yosua berusaha menenangkan mereka, dan berkata, “Negeri yang kami lalui… adalah luar biasa baiknya… Janganlah takut ..... Sepuluh pengintai dan umat Israel terfokus pada apa yang ada di hadapan mereka, sehingga mereka menjadi prajurit yang kalah sebelum berperang. Sementara Yosua dan Kaleb terfokus pada apa yang ada di dalam mereka, yaitu kuasa penyertaan Tuhan, sehingga mereka mampu maju berperang dengan membawa mentalitas seorang pemenang. Lalu, bagaimana akhir cerita kehidupan mereka? Ke sepuluh pengintai dan umat Tuhan yang bersungut-sungut mati dalam perjalanan mereka di padang gurun. Dan, hanya Kaleb dan Yosua yang masuk ke dalam Tanah Perjanjian. Dengan demikian kita melihat bahwa kedua perbedaan cara pandang ini membawa mereka kepada dua hal yang sangat berbeda. Lalu bagaimana dengan kita? Bagaimana sikap hati dan cara pandang kita ketika diperhadapkan pada besarnya persoalan kita? Ke mana kita mau membawa pergumulan hidup kita? Keluarlah dari sikap hati yang kalah sebelum berperang, karena Zef 3:17 mengingatkan kita, "Tuhan Allahmu ada di antaramu sebagai pahlawan yang memberi kemenangan." Belajarlah dari Kaleb dan Yosua yang mengadopsi janji Tuhan, dan penyertaan kuasa Tuhan menjadi kerangka pikir mereka di dalam menghadapi tantangan yang ada. Jangan biarkan hidup kita berputar-putar di padang gurun persoalan dan mati binasa seperti nasib yang dialami sepuluh pengintai dan umat Israel. Miliki roh yang berbeda dan tampillah sebagai orang percaya yang mengalami janji-janji kemenangan Tuhan dengan hidup yang diperkaya dengan firman-Nya setiap hari sehingga ketika badai datang menerpa, firman-Nya menjadi sauh yang kuat.
