"I'm Gonna Ride" is the new single from the band's latest album, 'Light 'Em Up, which was helmed by renowned producer and songwriter-for-hire Marti Frederiksen, who has previously collaborated with Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Jonny Lang, and Sheryl Crow, among many other hit-makers. The Dead Daisies frontman John Corabi states: ''I'm Gonna Ride' is a song about leaving your worries and everyday stresses behind, getting on your Harley and cranking it up. It's an anthem of the open roads." With a locomotive thrust from the band's rhythm section punctuated by the band's trademark huge guitar hits and soaring vocals, "I'm Gonna Ride" propels the listener forward - as the singer lays out his impulse to ditch growing discontent, and heads for the time- less freedom of the open road. My guest this week is Colin Alvarez. We had an interesting chat about being a working musician, where to save money on gear, road triumphs and horror stories, and we wrap everything up with a story about how you should never pretend to be a percussionist. Here's some more info about Colin: Now calling Enola, PA home, Atlanta GA native Colin Alvarez pays his respects to our past while forging a new sound all his own. Colin began his exploration into the musical world at the age of eight when he started playing trombone. He picked up the guitar at 9 after his father gave him Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Texas Flood" album. Although Colin's background is in trombone, euphonium, tuba, and French horn - these days he focuses solely on guitar. His guitar influences include Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B. B. King, Joe Bonamassa, Robben Ford, while his songwriting influences include Marc Broussard, Jonny Lang, and Ray LaMontange. Colin got his start professionally at the age of seventeen with The Patrick Vining Band. Cutting his teeth with this powerhouse vocalist, Colin learned the business as well as how to front a band and entertain a crowd. He left Patrick's band at age twenty-one and went on to do guest and fill in work with several artists including Trickum, Bellum Rose, Jelly Roll, Southern Accent, Larry Griffith, and Ion Avenue. Colin's own personal ventures include Free Flight and Sazbo - the latter recording and releasing two studio albums and one live. Seven years ago, Colin assembled an original rock band; Crashing Midnite. Crashing Midnite released one original ten song LP titled Coming Home. This project was an incredible learning experience and allowed Colin to truly find his voice. Crashing Midnite gave him the confidence to begin writing and releasing music under his own Name, beginning with 2015's "From the Top", a 5 song EP full of powerful guitars, soulful vocals, and hook-based songwriting. Today, Colin is working to promote his 2021 Release and aptly named Album "Long Time Coming". The album includes ten songs written and arranged by Colin and Joel Edwards, with horn charts written by Kevin Carwile. Long Time Coming marks an exciting new chapter in Colin's music, Keep your eyes and ears peeled for exciting new things happening in Colin's career!
Cresceu escutando BB King, Eric Clapton, Jonny Lang, Sly & Family Stone, Funkadelik e o vocalista e guitarrista genial Little Beaver, 4 episódio do GB. Ansioso para se apresentar, postou um vídeo no Instagram com a legenda “i want to open for lalah” and voila! Alguns músicos que o acompanham: Cody Matlock - Guitar/Vocals Brandon Boone, Trey Lander - Bass Tauseef Anam, Robert Boone, Erik Aylesworth- Drums Tony Erice – Congas Rhett Huffman, Spencer Pope - Keys/Synth Jordan Shalloup - Sax Ben Otieno, Dash Smith- Trumpet Chelsea Shag, Brenda Nicole Moorer – Back Vocals Crayg Shephard Tilde Jonathan Norwood Daniel Wytanis Noah Sills Noah Sharf --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/garimpandobolachas/message
I talk with grammy and Emmy-award winning songwriter Drew Ramsey about the challenges and rewards of co-writing songs, which occasionally become hit songs. In this, Drew has decades of experience — his countless collaborations include India.Arie, John Legend, Jonny Lang, and Marc Broussard — and in his capacity as a songwriting professor at Belmont University in Nashville he's championed and incubated the next generation of songwriting hopefuls. We talk about Lightbulbs vs Batteries and the importance of discovering which one you are. We talk about the importance of bringing your weird to the songwriting room, and how it much easier to hone a wild idea into a communicable form than to punch up something that isn't there, and finally we play one together in the studio, his song "Home", the hit he wrote with Marc Broussard.

FreeWorld is an independent, regionally touring, ever-evolving, Memphis-based musical ensemble who celebrated their 30th Anniversary in 2017. Drawing from influences as diverse as Booker T. & the M.G.s, John Coltrane, Frank Zappa, The Grateful Dead, Steely Dan, and The Meters, these brothers under one multicultural groove have remained a consistently entertaining and informed voice on the Memphis music scene since the group's inception. Rich Cushing is the leader of the band. He's also degreed Medical Technologist in Memphis making him a highly educated bass player/lead vocalist. FreeWorld has been a Memphis fixture from the get-go playing their music on Beale Street for many years. Rich and the band are intent on passing it forward, too by bringing young players on stage! Rich describes part of FreeWorld as a "school." FreeWorld was honored to receive a Brass Note on the Beale Street Walk of Fame in 2012, and they've also had the honor and privilege of sharing the stage with a wide variety of musical legends over the years, including Levon Helm, The Memphis Horns, Billy Preston, Bootsy Collins, Richie Havens, Blues Traveler, Widespread Panic, Derek Trucks, Hot Tuna, Los Lobos, Merl Saunders, Dr. John, Timothy Leary, John Sinclair, The Bar-Kays, Ann Peebles, Steve Cropper, James Cotton, Mojo Buford, Jimmie Vaughan & Double Trouble, Susan Tedeschi, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, & Jonny Lang just to name a few. Band members refer to themselves as an onstage freak show, but the only thing freaky about them is their talent. Be sure to check 'em out the next time you venture up the road a bit to Memphis. FreeWorld is just one of the many cool experiences outside Hot Springs Village. Thanks to her father, the Belgrade-raised Popovic was introduced to the blues at an early age, through his wide-ranging record collection and jam sessions hosted at the Popovic home. Born on May 13, 1976, Popovic took up guitar when she was a teenager and formed her first band, Hush, in 1995. Within a year, with the collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe, she was playing blues festivals in Greece and Hungary and working as an opening act for American blues masters, including Junior Wells.Popovic recorded her debut album with Hush in 1999, when she also moved to the Netherlands to study jazz guitar and world and pop music at the Conservatory of Music. She had the chance to see blues guitarist Bernard Allison at a club in Germany. He asked her to come on-stage and jam at the end of the show. While Allison invited Popovic to join him on a tour, she had to get back to the Jazz Academy in Holland. Allison asked for a copy of Popovic's record with Hush, and he sent it on to executives at Ruf Records in Germany, who were impressed with Popovic's powerful guitar playing and singing. Ruf contacted her to be part of their Jimi Hendrix tribute compilation, and then signed her to a recording deal of her own.Several months after this, she was on her way to Memphis to record Hush! The album was well received by blues radio programmers and the non-blues purist segments of the American, European, and Canadian blues festival circuits. In the spring of 2001, she performed at the Memphis in May Festival alongside Bob Dylan, the Black Crowes, and Ike Turner. Within five years of leaving Yugoslavia, Popovic, now in her late twenties, had the chance to perform at many of the major European blues festivals, including Peer, Bishopstock, and Notodden. Along the way she's sat in with the likes of Allison, Michael Hill, and Kenny Neal.Popovic has two albums out on the New Jersey-based Ruf Records America label, Hush!, released in 2000, and Comfort to the Soul, her 2003 release. Jim Gaines and David Z., who have worked with other blues-rockers, including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Santana, and Jonny Lang, had roles in recording and mixing both albums. Five of Popovic's sparkling originals shine on Comfort to the Soul, including her...

--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/julio-barreto-en-podcast/message
Episode 50, two to go in Season 4 and we are done. This episode aired on 16 Dec 2021, Beethovens birthday. We started with a few minutes of 'Symphony No 9', known as Scherzo before moving on with Deep Purple and Highway Star. After that is was standard fare with Def Leppard, Metallica, a bit of Megadeth off the Trust album, and a track called She-Wolf. The love affair with Boston and Greta Van Fleet continued and I continued to play new stuff off the latest Volbeat and Black Label Society albums. The brand new Neil Young called Barn and the third album from Negal's side outfit Me and That Man went down very well. The track we heard was called 'All Hope is Gone and featured Exodus / Slayer guitarist Gary Holt, Mantas from Venom, and Blaize Bayley ex Wolfsbane and Iron Maiden. The album is called New Songs, New Man, Same Shit Vol 2. There was a sad moment for me personally as I paid tribute to a very special lady who was very much a second mother to me growing up and sadly passed away this week. I am currently in lockdown as my daughter has covid so covid once again permeated the show in a not so subtle way. Other than that it was a mix of classic (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest), heavy (Parkway Drive, Arch Enemy), and some acoustic-type stuff from The Boss Bruce Springsteen. I ran out of time and just managed to slip in the SA music right at the end. You'll get The Uninvited and the Koos Kombuis classic 'Johnny is Nie Dood Nie' if you hang in all the way to the end. Artists featured: Ludwig van Beethoven, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, Cold Chisel, Halestorm, Megadeth, Metallica, Boston, ACDC, Massive Wagons, The L.A. Maybe, The Pretty Reckless, Motörhead, Mötley Crüe, Foo Fighters, Greta Van Fleet, Leslie Wes, Jonny Lang, Scott Stapp, In This Moment, Blue Oyster Cult, Me & That Man, Scorpions, Volbeat, Queen, David Essex, Hollywood Vampires, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Monster Truck, Black Label Society, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen, Seether, Arch Enemy, Parkway Drive, The Uninvited, Koos Kombuis

Phantom Electric Ghost Interviews Pop Groove Duo ROSAWAY ROSAWAY is a Parisian pop duo consisting of Rachel Ombredane and Stéphane Avellaneda, whose music is born from an unlikely and original combination: the flute and the drums.
